- Martin Miller and Tom Quayle pop into Andertons for an interview with the Captain.
Martin is using his signature Ibanez guitar in to an Atomic Amplifire 6 digital amp modelling FX processor. In the room he’s hearing it via the FX return of a Laney combo, but in the video you’re hearing the Atomic Amplifire direct in to the interface. Links are below for his guitar & the Atomic Amplifire. Audio mixed by Martin Miller.

TechMetalRules how good is their cover of easy lover
That's true dude!
I love those guys...top notch studio pros. They can play literally anything. A true fan of MMSB.
totally agree!
Captain meets Rick Graham pls !
Oh I second this. That would be really cool
Great Idea!! We love Rick Graham, please do a Captain meets Rick Graham!!!
Yea, It's not like England is even big
So much to learn about that absolute master of guitar technique. Needs to happen ASAP.
@@VashdyTV Yea it looks like Tom has been getting some lesson from Rick with that picking hand !:D
My god if these two aren't just the most friendly interviewees of all time. Not getting a single bit of inflated ego at all.
And they're comfortable enough to have some banter as well. Super cool guys
@@TheReliableBeacon Agreed. Nice to see two fine musicians, who are just into music, playing, teaching. My only criticism of this video, is that i could have done with more playing!
I found a couple of new people to follow. I really enjoyed the video.
Damn MIllenials, mad skills and good manners. The gall...............
friendly yes, but artistically boring though.
The captain meets Mateus Asato!!!
Please!!!
OHH YESSSS
Fuckin up!!!!
Captain goes to Brazil like in James Bond Chasing Mateus through the streets during Carnival 😆
no tks, seria muy aburrido como sus interpretaciones
I met all of these guys at an Andertons MM & TQ masterclass. Ended up with a Laney amp ( the main prize), lots of autographed photos, a small Laney amp and a smile on my face all the way home. These guys were all down to Earth and friendly and obviously amazing guitar players. I had the best of times meeting these chaps, one to remember.
AS the old joke goes..."How do you end up with a million dollars as a jazz musician? Start off with two million"
But, confusingly, Zappa also added "Jazz isn't dead, it just smells funny". Make of that what you will.
Tim Beaton that’s funny. I think he also called it unemployment music
You forgot "what's the difference between a jazz musician and a pizza ?
The pizza can feed two people"
Pop: 3 chords for 200 people. Jazz: 200 chords for 3 people

OMG, Martin is out of this world good. No retakes on this video, just perfection. So musical.
20:04 Was not expecting to hear Pat Metheny's "Travels." Nice!
That outro jam was...mindblowing, to say the least. I could hear that forever. Amazing musicians these two.
Martin Miller is a great ambassador. Sold me on the AZ. Had it for two months now and its amazing.
Which one did you get?
@@snipestyl Just the TSG premium version. Love the finish.
For some reason I hated mine (the saddles were too 'plinky' and the HAP tuners too fiddly)...I eventually went for an MSM1 which is kind of half way house between the RGs and the AZs
New Day fantastic guitar
Martin gave me the opportunity to try out his AZ at a clinic here in Kuala Lumpur. I'm sold. One of the best guitars I've played and that's saying a lot. Haven't pulled the trigger yet though, the better half has laid down the law after I got myself a Ken Lawrence.
This soooo good. This series really makes you feel like you are there chatting to them as if they were friends. The Capitain is so likable; he makes you feel comfortable.
He's just such a likeable dude. Reminds me of my brother in law.
Best lesson here is their rhythm playing, kids. No farted or clammed notes. It's the foundation of the other's playing. Completely underrated or dismissed. Well done.
Absolutely amazing! Martin and Tom perfectly blend technicality, melody and emotion. They are perfect example of well rounded, knowledgeable guitarists! Truly inspiring!!!
"One more time, with feeling" Absolute gold! Ha
Wow Martin and Tom are exceptional guitarists. Humble, respectful of each others work for that perfect blend. The Captains smile while these two were performing says it all. Great video! Thanks for sharing!
The guys at Laney are 15 minutes drive from my house yet they’ve never asked me to come down. What’s that all about then?
philip Ellis 😂😂.... the world is becoming more hostile by the minute 😋😋
hahaha, captain the savage 45:34.
Awesome episode, amazing players!
You guys should watch the video where Martin Miller and his band cover the Dark Side of The Moon in FULL!!!
You are welcome...
Martin looks like Prince Oberyn from GoT. He even have similar voice and accent :D
The pink Floyd medley is amazing
Watched it several times with full cover headphones. I love the way they infuse their own style to it. All of MMSB videos are great live performances and they have special guests to keep it diverse.
Wow. That’s one of best live jams I’ve witnessed. Just terrific. Thanks
Search for these two playing "Isn't she lovely" ... Watch now and be amazed!
A Plug in... a Club in Prague! UA-cam is the TV that I want to watch, I'm 67 and I can watch and listen to so much music, oh to be young and have this facility !! Good on you all.
Speaking of tone being in the hands, you should ask some of your guests to play some atypical gear. It would have been interesting to hear Vai play a Les Paul through a Fender Twin or John Petrucci on a Squier Telecaster through a Katana.
So good to hear guys talking honestly about making money as musicians. Something I’ll probably never do but wonderful to hear that some can do well. I think these stories should be told more often.
Talented, friendly guys. Great interview.
Finally! Two of my favourites fusion guitarists!
Covers svobodnoe
Martins lead tone at the end Jam is one of the best tones I've ever heard
I keep coming back to the performance at the end of the video, it's stuck in my head
CAPTAIN MEETS FREDRIK THORDENDAL AND MARTEN HAGSTROM
HELL YES.
Although they'd most likely do a thing with Ola Englund first.
Ola said Fredrik hates doing this and he doesn't think he'd agree to do a Coffee with Ola.
@@Oilid where did he say that? I wanna know :'(
@@virnalinebrida-sunga7748 I watched it on one of his members live stream.
Martin and Tom are machines with feelings. And I love it!!!
Martin and Tom are awesome guys!! that's why we love them playing Ibanez Guitars!! more coming at Namm Show 2019
Watching guitar videos for two years now this was the first time I´ve heard a classic Pat Metheny tune. Wow!
The Captain Meets... my favourite youtube show!! (Up there with That Pedal Show) so I propose The Captain Meets Julian Lage!!
20:30 Wow...what he did there sounds really awesome!
@@0megalul309 I also need to know it....it sounds so great!!
@@0megalul309 Its a country thing. Johny Hiland does it all the time. GG actually shows how to do stuff like that in one of his bending tutorials
anyone knows what song he's playing? or is it just improv
@@alexjackson8841 I finally found the song, its "Travels" by Pat Metheny. Martin played it live once at ibanez guitar festival :)
@@oscarwagner4515 Oh yeah i found i thanks, he also did it with the session band live in the studio it sounds incredible
Amazing duo
That ending song... WOW!
Amazing! Thanks for this!
Gorgeous playing!
This makes me really happy!
Thank you guys.. Awesomeness ✊🏼🎸
Phenomenal guitars, phenomenal playing
My jaw hit the floor when Martin came in at 39:37 - what tone!
my favorite duo! Keep the great work, guys!
I had such a great time watching this!
Both of these guys are incredible.
The best Sunday morning gift ever!! Two of the VERY best.
Wow! This is the best interview I have ever watched for 2 virtuoso guitar players. Well done Andertons! simply sensational.
2 sick guitars, 2 amazing players. Loved every second of this video.
This was so pleasant to watch! Both absolutely legends! ✌️
You should do different videos for each of them, Capt! They deserved a 1 hour and 30 minutes video each. Love you both Tom and Martin! very honest and modest..very inspiring! wish you both good luck on your career..keep on rock n roll 🤟🤟
Great guitars, great sound, truly magical playing!!! :)
What a fantastic video. Great interview, great guitar sound and amazing players. Great to see so little ego from such talented people. A real pleasure.
this is amazing! More talks like this where the business aspect and opportunities with different platforms and case studies are mentioned! This is just great and totally transparent. I loved it!
What a great interview! Really interesting
Great interview, great insights on being a musician for life 👍
That Martin Miller tone on the jam at the end is absolutely stunning - excellent stuff!
Captain, its a delight to see you interview people who you clearly and refreshingly admire and respect and see your authentic enjoyment of great musicians is a joy! Keep up the good work.
What a great tune to end on!! Awesome!
Love the jam at the end! Thanks Captain (and Tom and Martin) for the video!
Great interview by Lee, and (no surprise) absolutely spectacular playing from Tom Quayle and Martin Miller. What a treat !
Love everything about this, can’t wait to lay hands on an AZ.
I was waiting for this for weeks! :D
Amazing... thank you!
Wow that song at the end, so many kewl parts
Two incredible guitarists, so inspiring to hear your stories and incredible musicianship. Definitely worth checking out their music on UA-cam 🤘🤘
Awesome playing.
Great show
Great players, the magic that surrounds the notes is a dream.
Wow I’m impressed, Martin and Tom are elite players, the combination of both it’s wonderful
Just wow! My favourite one so far. Tom Quayle and Martin Miller are to good!!!!!!!
Tom and Martin together are just the bees knees. Wonderful to listen to and watch play
The captain smiling as they play is the cutest thing ever
Guys could play for 2 hours straight and not run out of riffs or runs. Just incredible. Probably don't even get tired.
Literally brought a tear to my eye, simply stunning!
Same here!!!..
well, I've seen Mike Stern live in a very small club in the Netherlands last month and I wouldn't change the experience to 1000 youtube videos. Live performance is still live performance.
What a great video! I really like hearing great musicians talk about the realities of touring these days and comparing it to online venues. In 2001 my wife was a grad student at the Colorado School of Mines. She called me very excited because the following spring Asleep at the Wheel was playing a concert at the college. We bought tickets #1 & #2. When the day came we were in the middle of the third row, just where I wanted to be. There were only 4 or 5 other people in the back of an auditorium with 500 seats. The Wheel did a complete show with no short cuts, but I was astounded that in a metro area of 1.5 million there were only a half dozen people attending. I draw more at a local arts center in a town of 2,000. I did get Ray Benson's pick at the end of the show & framed it with the tickets and program. By the way, I have been lusting after one of those hand wired amps from that little shop in North Carolina for several years.
I absolutely adore Martin’s tone.
Just amazing!!!
That was awesome!
The outro jam... just wow!
That was just great!
Things are so different now, this is how it's done, amazing
Amazing jam, it can't be any better than this. By the way, that song is in Martin Miller's album, it is worth listening to
Not gonna be able to watch it today, but I'll give this a thumbs up first, this will definitely be something really good.
Jeez! The tone they get !!!!
both of them are my heroes!!
This is awesome!!
You want emotion? you want to be moved? this is the place. Lee's face at the end was rather warming. ACE.
I love my Ibanez AZ224F. It's now my go to guitar.
Both guitar tones are SICK
Two World Class players right there!
Besides the fact that it's not really my cup of tea tone-wise, it's very inspiring to watch such an interview with two young men who are successful with their careers and just be happy for them. Well done guys, hope you keep achieving your dreams. Cheers!
I've been fortunate enough to attend a fair few shows and events with Martin & Tom.. lovely fellas and just ridiculous talent. Great to see them on here hopefully getting an even wider audience for those that don't have Lick Library subs etc.
Superb.
The captain meets Tom Misch!
Love the bit about how using youtube, you can reach a bigger audience. Wish more musicians round my way thought like that!
Amazing!
Inspirational. I'm gonna buy a Laney. Defo! Also, DIVOCK ORIGI!
I begged Marbin to play in Pueblo CO, he added the date 6 days later, I was there!! and I bought a shirt!!
I hope there were more than just you there. See my comments about an Asleep at the Wheel concert in Denver metro. I was very impressed with both the playing and the quality thinking of both these musicians.
I like Martins more melodic style of playing then I do Tom's though they are both great guitarists! Fantastic playing at the end. Thanks Lee for getting theses guys - very special!
I play Ibanez jem in church sometimes without judgement, but I understand your points on the headstock. These new models are so beautiful guitars 😀
I can't imagine how much hustling you have to do with a profession such as a solo artist.
Two of the best nowadays. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
