  • At long last, the iconic Toyota 4Runner is likely due for a full redesign in 2025. The upcoming sixth-generation 4Runner should transcend the archaic fifth-generation model on sale since 2010 with a new platform, electrified powertrain, and modern tech and features. As before, trail performance will remain a 4Runner focus, with its maximum capability demonstrated by the TRD Pro version. The 2025 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro will bring the fight to specialty off-road SUVs including the Ford Bronco Raptor, Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe, and Rivian R1S -here's what to expect.
Several engine options could be offered in the upcoming 4Runner, potentially starting with a turbocharged I-4. However, the TRD Pro will likely be sold exclusively with the range-topping powertrain, anticipated to be a hybrid system. The so-called i-Force Max powertrain could be similar to that found in the Tundra and Sequoia, combining a 3.4-liter twin-turbo V-6 with an electric motor and 10-speed automatic transmission. In the Tundra and Sequoia, the i-Force Max powertrain makes 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque-enormous increases over the fifth-generation 4Runner's 270 hp, 278 lb-ft 4.0-liter V-6.
Expect to find all of Toyota's latest active safety and driver-assist features in the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro. Its Toyota Safety Suite should include full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and road sign recognition. The new, somewhat odd Proactive Driving Assist feature equipped in the new Prius could be added, too.

What a bunch of nonsense. It's already been confirmed since it was unveiled the TRD Pro version will also get the same 2.4 liter turbo hybrid. Also, how is this video not taken down since it is literally a collection of clips taken from other youtubers?

    TRD Pro Tacoma Comparison:
    $63,900 before markups.
    Quick math:
    $6,400 down (10%)
    + tax and interest (7.64)
    60 Months Payment: $1260
@12.5% of take home pay you should be earning $157,500 annually to be looking at this car (assuming the appropriate taxes are coming out of your paycheck).
National average wage (US Census): $63795.
Percentage making $150k annually: approx. 8.3%
5 Year price increase Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro:
    2019 MSRP: $42,960
    2024 MSRP: $63,900
    49% increase
Wage growth 2019-2024: 1.7% (Source: US Treasury)
These price increases far outpace inflation and wage growth.
Toyota is targeting 8% of total market. Or people who just want to act fiscally irresponsible.
