The centrifugal clutch is the amazing part...even with all the gear reduction you would think a torque converter would be needed. At any rate, very cool build.
Chinese and Vietnam actually uses similar machines to do actual work carrying goods on the road. They use that 1 cylinder horizontal diesel engine from Kubota RT100 or clone.
Love stuff like this. Great Job. Personally, I would like to do something like this but weld out a nice enclosed area for camping out of aluminum and use a slightly larger engine to make up the difference in weight. Super fuel efficient hunting and camping rig for peanuts!
That sir, is awesome. I'll echo the comment below that I've seen similar set ups in S. Korean villages as well. Well done! Awesome doesn't always mean big.
You have my respect, It appears to me that you have the hardest pulling 212 powered vehicle on planet Earth, however I'm a fabricator too, and I'm building something . I'm coming for that #1 spot ( all in good fun) . Keyfarm
I was not able to find that 96 tooth sprocket at Graingers. Is that number 40 chain 1/2 inch pitch? Do you know of anybody else who sells that keyed sprocket with the hub? Not sure the diameter of the go cart axle you used?. Thanks for uploading this video. Any info would be appreciated!
Michael thank you for posting more videos about your 2 wheel drive go kart and 4x4 offroading trucks. You have really sparked a lot of interest from me and so many others. Been researching and since I have been wanting a good cheap 2 or 4x4 wheel drive offroad vehicle/gokart. And this rabbit hole has led me to some pretty cool stuff from doodlebug tractors/trucks, homemade tractor/garden tractors, Diygokarts.com forum, homemade or repowered single or twin cylinder trucks, Zeeadster Tv on youtube, Struck Corp Mini-Beep and last but not least Ernie Adams and his dwarf cars. Thanks for inspiring a bunch of people young and old to get thinking and maybe get their hands dirty too building their own offroad trucks or go karts.
Seen this truck couple times and always curious on power and gear ratio. Thanks for upload. I'm about to do something similar on a rzr frame with jeep axles.
you got my subscription, h9ws she hold up to time? have you considered doin performance upgrades to the engine? like a billet flywheel, agressive rockers, agressive cam, billet connecting rod, and a mikuni or another brand of high output slide carb? maybe go from 20 ish mph up to 30 or 40 at its top speed, and have a lot more pulling power. or if tuned properly for low RPM grunt, you could gear it up a bit more and do the same by adding a longer intake header and those performance mods to boost bottom end torque.
Can you build a vw, beetle bug with one of the harbor freight vtwin engines. ?????? I'd love to see Simone build a drivable beetle with predator engine.
I have a deuce and a half stripped down, pretty much the same as this rig. Do you think a 14hp would be enough to move it if I geared it to do 15 or 20?
Ron Armstrong With how deep his gears are, the .9 overdrive might hit 30 mph. But one of those, combined with a smaller main gear, and some mods to the engine to run more rpm, and you'd do alot faster
Besides the predator engine where do I get the other parts. I’d like to convert a vw beetle to a dune buggy using this. I believe it has a 4.37:1 ring and pinion 🤔but if I use 28 inch tires what do you think my top speed would be? This would be an off road trail project. Any links or part no. would help. Thank you
I just realized you’re video answered my question 😬 . I found a go cart centrifugal clutch with a 12 tooth sprocket that uses #35 chain and a 72 tooth sprocket on eBay. Is this a good deal ? Or should I look for #40 chain. What the difference between a centrifugal clutch and a torque converter ? Both looked the same the converter didn’t look like a car torque converter (no oil or finns).
Why am I only seeing this now? Lol. I have a perfectly good 10hp Tecumseh Snow King looking for a project to make it useful. I guess I know what I gotta do now.... comb my local classifieds for an old S10.... 👍
What about brakes and transmission cooler lines. Is it ok to do without brake booster and the transmission cooler. I am about to start this project . Trying to gathet as much info as possible. Thans for the video.
i have a s10 but it is automatic could i still do what you did with a automatic trans in it let me no and do you have a email i can send ya pictures and stuff thank you jim
@@bryanmartinez6600 I rebuild my own as preventative maintenance at this point when I buy something with one in it. They're pretty terrible stock. Easy to rebuild and make tough enough.
@@Billy28376 true they are pretty simple for a transmission if anything I hate the 6T70 that I just had a run in with. At least you can fix a 4L60 with normal tools but the 6T70 requires equipment to reprogram a replacement valve body/ control module.
Tacoma SRT5 Im wondering this same thing. Id love to see some gearing that can get u too 45mph. Dont need the pulling torque just geared up enough to get ya safe down 45mph roads
When going down hill do you loose the ability to use engine/gear breaking with the centrifugal clutch? I live at 6000 feet and don't wanna roll off! Ha, ha.
Even if you did away with the centrifugal clutch and used factory truck clutch the engine would not have enough compression to slow the truck down much on big hill
yes if your motor has 20 or more horse, you'll lose 5 hp and you should use a synchromesh manual box behind the torquie since the hydro/electro automatic will lose another 3 horse and won't shift at the right times
It would be kinda hard, but if you were a machinist it wouldn't be so bad. You'd have to make an adapter to mount to the flex plate. From there it's easy. Although you would have alot of loss. You would want more engine to make up for it.
Great work It needs a huge flywheel on the engine then the big sprocket can be smaller Think John Deere the big flywheel If they weren't there they couldn't do anything
If i had lots of time to kill and a project to mess around, i would pull a motor from a Honda or toyota, get the frame off an SUV or truck, and get a similar axle setup as you! haha
Seen this thing pull up to a mud bog in someone else's UA-cam video. Been looking for vids of it ever since. Awesome idea
Thanx bro. I live in the west Tx Davis mountains and I have a 84 F-250 headed for new life at 20 mph!
The centrifugal clutch is the amazing part...even with all the gear reduction you would think a torque converter would be needed. At any rate, very cool build.
a torque converter will burn out if you use it on this, a clutch does a much better job.
Where would you find that sprocket? I didn't see any at Grainger. Is that a #40/41 chain or a #35? Thanks
Chinese and Vietnam actually uses similar machines to do actual work carrying goods on the road. They use that 1 cylinder horizontal diesel engine from Kubota RT100 or clone.
They're called a Ledok, Girico, a few other things. They're called "Gotrucks" in the USA. I built one of them:

Great build! Good job!
Please keep these videos coming. Excellent!

Gopowersports.com will have everything you need
Go double reduction 2 chains 4 sprockets
You did and a awesome job on that Machine...!!!

Stephen Geremia thanks, I enjoy building things, I will check that stuff out,
i have an toyota rock cralwer with the cralwer box and 529s on 43s. Whats a idea on gears for a 10 hp motor set up?
Have you seen my 212 tractor, it sure would be cool to get these two machines together. Take care
You make FUN STUFF!!!

Have you ever gone to iron horse mud ranch in Perry Florida

Is there a way to make power steering? And how do i make the brakes work right?
Very cool only part i dont fully understand how did you do the clutch i seen you had the clutch disc rigged up somehow
He is using the centrifugal clutch on the predator. Doesn't need the truck clutch. Probably just decel a little to shift.
Can you build a vw, beetle bug with one of the harbor freight vtwin engines. ?????? I'd love to see Simone build a drivable beetle with predator engine.
Sam W. Build one, post it, get your money back on the video
Nice build....thanks for sharing
Where did you find the big ass sprocket?
I have a deuce and a half stripped down, pretty much the same as this rig. Do you think a 14hp would be enough to move it if I geared it to do 15 or 20?
Splittin n Stuff yes
ok great, this is my deuce frame. Has a tow truck back on it like yours too ua-cam.com/video/RWpfXZBHcSo/v-deo.html
Splittin n Stuff yes get a 75 tooth sprocket , reared needs to be at least a 325, let me know, and i can tell you !
@@michaelmadison5051 I have a 1951 jeep with Dana 25 axles. Supposed to have 514 gears. Do I still need a 96 tooth sprocket?
@@michaelmadison5051 Hey buddy how can I get a hold of you to chat some ideas?
What size sprocket would u suggest for a 4.62 gear ratio
Could you do the same thing with a 2.5 ton military truck?
Airborne 1966 yes if the gear ratio is low enough
How is it climbing hill grade? Say like on a trail road.
Blackf350 great strait up
Like for real the koolest rig ive ever seen...
I love your projects. Have you ever heard of a Constantinesco torque converter? I know you could fabricate one. They are the ultimate transmission.

John mike you using a auto transmission?
Thanks for the video. This is making want to build a solo cab rock buggy.
96:1 that is just awesome!
Awsome ! I love it!
Man what carb is on there?
Where did you find the big sprocket? :)
I think I heard someone somewhere say Grainger for the sprocket.
What chain are u running
i have a s10 but it is automatic could i still do what you did with a automatic trans in it let me no and do you have a email i can send ya pictures and stuff thank you jim
Yes you can use an automatic you take out the torque converter and use your clutch as the torque converter
Hey where do you buy the large sprocket from?
Have you tried gopowersports.com yet?
That's friggen awesome! I love it and Iam building one too!
did you ever build one?
next time we meet up i need a ride in this bad boy
I'm about to buy a beater s10 and take the slow boat up the river run!!! XD
A manual yes but those automatic are trash the 700R4 4L60E family are garbage my Silverado is at 270k miles and it's going on to a third Transmission

Top speed goal 45mph

Hyundai Accent engine, that's 65hp out of 1.6 l.
When going down hill do you loose the ability to use engine/gear breaking with the centrifugal clutch? I live at 6000 feet and don't wanna roll off! Ha, ha.
Primitive Bob I would assume no power breaks or power steering and with that clutch no engine braking
enginebraking should work you might have to hit the gas once to let the centifugal clutch engage. my guess.
You will absolutely not have any engine braking
Even if you did away with the centrifugal clutch and used factory truck clutch the engine would not have enough compression to slow the truck down much on big hill
Maybe a hydraulic pump for power steering and hydro boost brakes
Very nice, smart design. Has anybody ever tried this with an automatic tranny?
Lose some weight off of it. Tube frame it or cut the middle out. Very cool. Tractor tires on that would be cool to.
Nice, thanks for uploading this btw.
Where do you get the sprockets
Brittany Ison ,,,tractor supply. Or. Grainger
Michael Madison
Thanks
Great Video. bud
can i do this with an automatic trans
truck ricers as a direct drive setup similar to this I would suspect so
yes if your motor has 20 or more horse, you'll lose 5 hp and you should use a synchromesh manual box behind the torquie since the hydro/electro automatic will lose another 3 horse and won't shift at the right times
the usa truck seem to have silly tall gearing unlike old toyota 410 is on my old beater stock gears .n my chevy 332 gear gerrr
You think i can do this to an old automatic subaru?
noah borko , haven't done automatic yet !
It would be kinda hard, but if you were a machinist it wouldn't be so bad.

Cool project! Keep improving?
Love it!👍
After seing this ... am going to build my own
Id go with a Wisconsin V4
i thought about doing a rig similar with an old cb750 engine or one me ols bike engines cool dude it the bomb
That’s awesome
MERICA.....!!!

awesome!
Brilliant!
i luv this video
i love this truck
Excellent information.
Would a torque converter system like the one from Go Power Sports not make it perform better, if yes or no, please explain why.
Thank you sir
😬👍
surgicalshooter911 yes I'd say it would make a huge improvement would love to see this being used
Great work
It needs a huge flywheel on the engine then the big sprocket can be smaller
Think John Deere the big flywheel
If they weren't there they couldn't do anything
What's the point of this? Genuinely curious.
Seal off the engine bay so that u can cross deep rivers
Wanted to see it in action. 😠
Hell yeah
run it boy
that gear ratio will make it have more torque than a Honda.
2.73 gearing. ouch
If i had lots of time to kill and a project to mess around, i would pull a motor from a Honda or toyota, get the frame off an SUV or truck, and get a similar axle setup as you! haha
Idk about that
