this video really did inspire me to do something like this. i got a harborfreight 670 and put it in a 97 miata its still needs more tuning but so far I've hit 60 in 4th gear not bad at all for a 22hp engine.
Cool Rig, I am using your idea and putting together a hybrid electric S10. Ill be using a 18 hp with torque convertor. Coupled to the electric drive motor.
Cost, prolly. Have some junk in the back yard, throw some laughs and $100 at it and it's a good time. Six or seven hundred for a 670 with the associated more pricey clutches, etc, and suddenly you have to start taking things seriously. Serious isn't very fun.
lots of commentors missed the point.. the idea was to build something cheap and light for off-road use only. basically repurposing junked vehicles that otherwise would be parted out and scrapped. something to haul tools around a large property, lightweight so it doesn't sink in deep mud easily.
@@ElectronicsForFun you arent working with many rpm under load. When youre driving your transmission synchronizer is not needed to match the gear selected. Like the technique semi truck drivers use, "floating gears". Dont forget that the centifugal clutch disengages at lower rpm.
@@jimholesaw6597 right but you can't throttle it down to shift into a higher gear because then you're lugging. and floating gears is not a good practice, that's a good way to damage your transmission because there is a thin margin of error when doing that.
@@ElectronicsForFun there are so many factors, its just a toy. The machine slop wears parts too but it aids in gear meshing. Those gears arent straight cut either
Nolan p basically he geared the thing super low in high gear and then each gear below is a reduction add in a reduction in the transfer case it crawls well but not winning any drag races its basically a lifted golf cart with a truck body and trans transfer and axles
Jake Browne I'm just suprised it moved that well under its own weight. I had a 90s 4runner with a 22re 4cyl with about 100hp and it barely moved I can't imagine 20x less. I think it took about 20 seconds to get 0-60
Someone should seriously build a road one paired to a auto trans so it could get up to speed or a manual trans but it would be hard to figure out the clutch
Geared way to low. You don't need it geared that low cause you can use low range in four wheel drive to gear low when needed. If he would use a way smaller sprocket he could get higher speed
Some guy made a go kart every one thought it was cool until broke down and little kid got burn when pushing it back all i said was to add a garding make it safe
that's the problem...everyone wants to v8 or turbo everything...that's why it's not your build..these guys made a build unique ..it's not always about how much money you want to spend to go fast ..sometimes unique builds like this are more entertaining..i know if i saw a small single cylinder engine powering a truck like this i would have to ask questions where as a v8 in a truck like these is so common i wouldn't even be bothered to look at the build
You need to improve on your video skills before your next post. Everything was shot with the camera moving to fast and because of this some video out of focus. For your presentation, I have to give you a thumbs down. Better luck next time.
Hard to believe that little centrifical clutch can handle the weight. Very impressed at what that rig can do!

Lol awesome i got a old dodge 1/4 ton o wanna do this too as well this sunmer
I wish you finished your build
Skip the centrifugal clutch and just put a 3/4 sprocket from Tractor supply on engine shaft for the stick shift trucks.
And spacers, probably.
Cool rig...too much racket and crackit going on...let's see this beautiful machine!
I bet that go cart clutch has to be changed a lot...
That engine turns counter clockwise does that run the trans the wrong way help me understand I am doing something similar
Hello that is awesome do you know if the clutch ever had problems, seems like the weakest link?
que corona usan para la transmision

Put a predator 670 V-twin engine on it that will look cool
That's really a cool little contraption you built.
What about steering and brakes assuming it has or can be made?
Why does everyone use the 6.5, wouldn't a bigger V-Twinn do better and have more top end
I got a dodge d 150 that I am currently working on putting a v twin in with a 5 speed and 31 inch tires

Sounds good, let me know how it turns out

The 212 is $100. You can buy 7 of them for the price of the 670.

Would have loved to see more video of these two actually moving. Not something you see everyday that's for sure.
I'm with you there!
Me too i failed at getting video of it in action
ua-cam.com/video/Z12gbY3nTm0/v-deo.html here is it pulling a truck
XMARGH I want 1 that's for sure.
ExtremeATVOffroad I want 1 that's for sure.
pretty cool for sure, I love his thrust plate
I would have used the V twin Predator!!🤔
Any problems with chain stretch? #40?
Maybe long term. IDK
That is really cool! Not very fast i'm sure, but bet it crawls through the mud!!!
Unfortunately it's not that great in the mud. The wheels don't spin fast enough to clear the treads. I bet it could climb some rocks though! 👍👍
That toyota has double the power of mine right now lol
Super cool! 👍
this is sadism to the engine 😝😁
Yeah those thing are pretty cool 😁👍
How do you shift with no clutch
Easily. But there is a clutch. A centrifugal clutch attached to the crankshaft
lift up on the throttle and shift into the next gear.
Where does one get a sprocket that size??
Get it made bud
There is always a way lol
what is cubic capacity in cc if possible. Is what i ame seein is small engines with crazy reduction ratios . thnks. I am clueless lol
Motion industries......
Industrial part........
Like fir a conveyor, etc......
that's a flywheel looks like
I guess the weak link is the gocart clutch, otherwise if geared right it should pull
james ellis how is that clutch under great stress? Those little things are tough and with the gearing it's not working hard at all.
I didn’t expect them to move
How to connecting the gear box to engine.?
How about clutch sistem.? Where is the clutch..?
Centrifugal clutch on the engine crankshaft
@@jimholesaw6597 that's fine but how do you disengage it to shift gears?

How much does it weigh and with that little power can it actually climb a hill by itself?

@blacknester 100 hp in a 4 runner is much different than a commuter car lol
Just heard a bunch of chipmunks
You didn't even move very cool build
The 670 vtwin would be great on here
Someone should seriously build a road one paired to a auto trans so it could get up to speed or a manual trans but it would be hard to figure out the clutch
This one is a manual and he said it does about 30 mph
an automatic wouldn't work. even the smallest auto tranny wastes 15 horsepower minimum and these engines are only 6.5 horsepower.
What's the mpg?
Lol

No video of them in action... 2 out of 5 stars **
why does he have two engines?
One for actually driving the truck, the other for operating the winch..
Great post! 👍
Why couldn’t you show them running? It would’ve been nice to see how they work
So... Do they actually drive?...
It did it drove great i missed that part of the video sadly
It's all motor.😂
Lol
All the videos of that "tow truck" why have I never seen it get used
I messed up i seen it towing a rig in later that day and forgot to record it
that is fu***** sweet
It may be cheap but it bet its still fun haha
Too love to scrap the chasis when the engine is total damaged...

how to clutch.....
Centrifugal clutch
google saxomat. or mercedes benz hydrak. or volkswagen automatic stickshift. same shifting procedure.
It's nice but unsafe please add a safety guard on it
sanchez oh god, there’s always gotta be someone like you in the comment section
You can't just put shit together and encourage people to do it so they get really hurt its pretty stupid
sanchez he didn’t encourage people to do it, he simply made s video showing off his build😂

sanchez wtf does a go cart have to do with this?
Holy Gun Smoke!
amazing
Doesn’t even start it up, nothin to see here fellers.
wow so much fun going a whole 2mph over the mud... just put a fucking real truck motor in whats the point of this?
POINTS WALKING AROUND A PILE OF JUNK WITH A CAMERA. WTF
I would put a v8 in it not a small 6.5 hp

Lousy photography, and couldn't understand a word said.
Get a 34 hp Kohler or the 37hp Kawasaki
I. Piss off about Toyota truck being used like that why can't it be. Ford or other trucks
