Omg Derek you have to try sauces made with blended up tofu!!! No one talks about it but blending up tofu and adding seasonings such as Nutritional yeast, garlic, onion, dill, salt and pep and it tastes like a creamy ranch type of dressing!! So delicious and nutritious. Keep up the videos!!
@@Simnettnutrition I'll watch all your sauce ideas . They're so easy ,healthy and delicious looking. and they give me ideas of my own. Please keep 'em coming.
Yes that’s right! ☺️ You’re vibe is uplifting me and others to have a healthier, happier, and kind way to live. That’s truly awesome to follow your adventures and there is always something positive to take out of them, whether it is to learn awesome food recipes, to get workout advices or simply to hang out in the forest with and getting inspired while listening to your wise thoughts. Thank you for doing such a great work. Wishing you and Crystal a lovely day! ☀️
your pesto sauce is spot on - i make a very similar one using tofu and just a spoonful of cashews - a little lighter but still very tasty. plus i add a teaspoon of low-sodium miso instead of salt, and that actually adds to the mouth feel. and like you said - it's REALLY good!!
Next sauce video, Derek will be sporting the latest in kitchen gear, swimming goggles to keep his eyes protected. We appreciate everything you do to bring us these delicious recipes!
love almost all the contents in this channel, not just easy and practical; the result was so tasty and delicious, The best thing about this channel is how careful he was about healthy recipes that didn't require expensive ingredients which make every recipe he shared was really true applicable
Derek you are my main inspiration in my healthy vegan lifestyle for the past 4.5 years after being an all-eater. Thank you so much for all your amazing and positive content!
Okay I'm back to report that these 3 dressings are absolutely the most delicious dressings I have ever tasted!!! I am going to make these every week. Thank you so much❤
Great recipes, and I'm going to make them. One change: Instead of of using just the juice of the lemon, I cut off the peel of a seedless lemon and include the entire (peeled) lemon. You're blending it anyway, and the pulp has substantially more nutritional value than just the juice, being more a whole food. I cut off and discard both ends of the lemon, cut it in half at the equator, put each half large-side-down on the cutting board, and then just cut off the peel, slicing downward to take it off section by section. You can do the same with the lime.
@@AnimalxRage I use seedless lemons. They may not be available everywhere, but my supermarket regularly has bags of seedless lemons on sale. Sorry that wasn't clear.
Oh, that Romanesco sauce can be used to mix with your homemade hummus! Can you tell us how long these beautiful sauces will last in the refrigerator please? That would be so helpful.
This is amazing! As someone who is tragically afflicted with taste buds that violently reject anything with vinegar or mayo (which are the bases to many and ingredients in even more sauces) I am thrilled to find three new sauce recipes that I could actually try and, moreover, enjoy!! 😊
You’re the king of sauces! I’m definitely inspired to make these. Btw, salt counteracts bitterness way better than sweet. I also find tahini a bit bitter but just adding a tiny bit of salt helps a lot
Love this! I always want sauce with everything to make my meal complete. I follow this channel a long time but never put the notification bell on. So that was the first thing I did when you started with the first sauce
This is awesome! For the Romesco sauce, I’m gonna roast whole red peppers in my air fryer and use the liquid that always drains out of it, instead of water, in the recipe.
Just found you and am inspired! You understand food very well and I cannot wait to try these sauce recipes! Thankyou very much for your great attention to detail and the charming way you present 🙏🏾👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿😍
Holy smokes! I just made the pesto and the Romanesco ones and they are soooo good! Can’t wait to use them on my salads and veggies this week. Keep up the great work!
All the sauces would be fabulous as sandwich spreads too. I think the last one with some crispy tofu, sliced tomatoes, and cucumber will be my lunch tomorrow. Thank you for the fabulous content. 🎉 👍
There is nothing like some roasted red peppers 🤤. The flavor and smell it gives is incredible. Phenomenal recipe and video as always. I have to get some jars for these sauces.
Yes, another beautiful list of awesome healthy sauces, thank you Derek! I've been making your sauces and dressings for quite a long time and they are always a hit with family and friends. 😋
LOVE your sauce recipes. You're the freakin' Sauce Whisperer, man. I'm serious! Love the hemp seed idea, too, for creaminess. I don't do oils and am always using nuts and seeds for my fat in sauces... but seem to forget about hemp seeds. Thank you! Idea for you: one of MY favourite sauces: peanut butter, lime, toasted sesame seeds, cashews, coconut aminos, and a whole tomato... and, of course, garlic and onion powder. Amazing on tofu and veggie stir-fries! Big love to you!
These sauces are amazing. Already made the first two. But I have a questions what’s the estimate shelf life of the sauces before spoiling? I’m assuming 7 days max?
The basil one will probably start to discolour on the third day or so. But I would think 5 days. I get freaked out, not sure I would do 7, but Crystal (my gf) would. Lol.
These sauces look amazing! I have everything for them too! I like keeping various sauces handy as I used them on sweet potatoes, salads and quick meals. And variety is nice. Thank you so much! 🇨🇦
i think the sauce recipes are going to be the most useful. a lot of the other recipes you make are based on seasonal ingredients. but the sauces are going to work their mojo year round.
oh my goodness you can use a spoon to take out the spicy seeds in the jalapeno! why didn't i think of that. i usually do it with my bare hands and then my fingers burn all day long. thank you!!!!

silken makes it super creamy and smooth
This isn’t really a part of the video but you have a really nice spirit. Keep being so full of joy !
The lemon said, “not like baking, huh?” Mess around and find out!! Omg and the jalapeño chose violence today too 😂😂😂😂 love these sauces!!

You should try to toast the nuts for the pesto sauce. It makes a big difference!!

Yes, writing out the recipes (both ingredients list & directions) is wonderful! So many UA-camrs don't do that.
First time watching you; I could tell you were from Canada by the way you said “pasta”. Recipes look good.
Derek you are my main inspiration in my healthy vegan lifestyle for the past 4.5 years after being an all-eater.

I tried roasting the tomatoes and peppers in the pan and it worked well for me. Sometimes it's too hot outside to heat up the oven. 🤪
Ah fair enough! It's been getting cooler here so it works!

i've done that before but the pits make the sauce taste bitter then

Thank you! And yes you’re right, I love it with just a touch of salt.
If tahini is bitter it's because the sesame seeds are bitter unless you toast them first (in a pan until golden brown).
