On the topic of Thor: for me the best spin-off character has been Beta Ray Thor. Not that I have anything against Jane as Thor, but I think Beta Ray was the first to lift the Hammer and be Thor for any period of time. I love that he's alien, showing that even the gods of Humans can effect other races. Love his ship, Scuttlebutt. And he's been consistently the "other" Thor in the Marvel Universe since the 80s. Also, Eric Masterson was Thor during the Infinity Gauntlet event.
I never liked how long the Clone Saga went on but I always loved Ben Reilly as a character. I liked him more as Scarlet Spider, but his Spider-Man suit has a pretty sick design. His temporary bonding with the Carnage symbiote is still one of my favorite arcs.
I haven’t read much of the classic 90’s Ben Reilly comics, but I did read all of Christopher Yost’s Scarlet Spider and the Peter David written post-Clone Conspiracy Scarlet Spider where he’s trying to regain his sanity and become the person he was before. Because of that, I’m actually more of a fan of Kaine Parker, since Chris Yost did such an impressive job turning a quasi-sympathetic bad guy clone into such a great “Jerk with A Heart of Gold” character. It’s a damn shame Kaine’s Scarlet Spider disappeared for so long after that New Warriors relaunch failed and he disappeared into the multiverse in the first Spider-Verse event.

I'm a big fan of the 1602 version of Thor. He's an elderly Templar protecting the order's secret weapon, which in that continuity, is Mjolnir in the form of a staff. What's fun about the character is that wielding Mjolnir and transforming into Thor presents a deep moral conflict for him: he's a devout Christian, but Thor is a manifest heathen god. Brief as his appearance is, I thought his struggle to reconcile his identity as both a Crusader and a God was really interesting.

You have to hand it to Anthony Mackie. When Falcon first came on the scene in WInter Soldier he was met with some ridicule. What could a regular guy with wings do? With each progressive appearance Anthony has made the character more interesting both in personality and the way he can use the wings. They became the most amazing accessory. Forget War Machine. I'd take Captain Falcon any old day of the week. I kinda hope he turns up in Armor Wars actually now that it's going to be a movie. For serious though, let's get as many heroes as we can in there and have them all fighting advanced armours and have different armours that have been tweaked in ways they can take on specific heroes. While I like Iron Man Three a lot there's real missed opportunity there with the armour because even though they look different they all do basically the same thing so as long as you can block a repulsor blast you're golden. Create them with specific countermeasures for each hero. I don't know what that would be but I already came up with the idea. I shouldn't have to do everything.

@@eastvandb She did take the mantle for a time and went on to lead the Avengers as such so if not legacy character then idk what that is. Monica evolved into something much bigger and people seem to ignore her time as Captain Marvel because she doesn’t have the same powers or like you said isn’t a descendant but that isn’t essential. Legacy doesn’t have to be related to the character directly like a Kate Bishop or Ben Reilly. GL corp is almost all completely unrelated with lots of legacy heroes. Then there is the Flash family which is almost all connected family wise with many legacy heroes. It’s confusing but they don’t even have to necessarily hold the mantle long either if you start getting into sidekicks like Nightwing. Whereas Damian is directly related and takes up the mantle in future storylines but I don’t think I would call him a legacy character yet. Monica Rambeaux is awesome, but is she a legacy character? There's a certain randomness about the names they give her over the years, and her story isn't really connected to the original Mar-Vell character. Danvers is directly connected from and descended from the original.
(I'm not talking about whether Rambeaux or Danvers is a "better" character, just whether Rambeaux it technically legacy. She's her own thing.)
Or Jaime as Blue Beetle is a better comparison with him not being related to Dan or Ted, his scarab is also being used differently yet he is considered a legacy character. Sorry for the bloat.

You make a convincing argument. I really like both characters, so I have no beef with someone who prefers one over the other.
@@eastvandb it’s all good I love these type of conversations lol takes me to the comic shop without having to get up!
You guys better be getting ready to review the santa clauses. It's the greatest thing since sliced bread on disney +
They did caravan of garbage on those last year.
@@tiberiushazo6326 No you don't understand. They made a sequel TV series that is on disney now called the santa clauses with the same cast from the 90s. Only came out two weeks ago
No Amadeus Cho as Hulk? Or X-23 as Wolverine?
I had a JK Simmons/JJ Jameson laugh from the thumbnail. Good stuff
14:39 HAHAAAA🤣🤣 dead, as if, Samuel Smith…..congratulations 👏🏽😂
Established Titles is a scam.
Did they just forget that Carol has been Ms. Marvel for decades before she was Captain Marvel? So Kamala would be a legacy character
This feels like a fever dream of a universe where Ms.Marvel didn't exist until kamala
@@OldManYellsAtClouds Carol Danvers…
@@GyrosLeftSteelBall I believe (hope) he was playing into the joke
But you never know
I don't think there was any joke intended, though I can see the confusion because of the ambiguity of language.
Saying "Kamala was always Ms. Marvel" isn't the same as saying "Ms. Marvel was always Kamala". It's just saying Kamala has never taken on any other character's mantle.
@@mahna_mahna I think you may be getting confused (because the person deleted their comments, so not your fault)
But someone commented "who was Ms.marvel before her?"
@@TheOriginalDx1 Yeah, that did make it a bit confusing. But I was also referring to your original post.
5:41 I enjoy this reference thank you
3:21 Keep shredding, sk8r boi.
*Also, I do remember liking Amadeus Cho and living-in-the-present Red Wolf.* (Did Ian Rogers ever came back?)
Ian will be appearing in Sam's Captain America book in the near future!
Cho is a really fun character. Completely different tone from any other male Hulk.
