The Legend Of Zorro - Caravan Of Garbage

- In 2005 we finally were treated to a follow up to The Mask Of Zorro with The Legend Of Zorro. Antonio Banderas is back as Alejandro de la Vega along with Catherine Zeta Jones this time going up against Rufus Sewell. Whilst not reaching the heights either critically or financially of the 1998 original it's still got a bunch of great Zorroing in it and that's fun. Thanks for watching our Caravan Of Garbage review

#Zorro - Розваги
The best part is Zorro cutting the double Z into the bad guy and he says, "So the devil will know who sent you." Terrific.
The stunt of rearing the horse upright on top of the train is spectacular and I think actually performed (thought probably on a still train car and comped onto the miniature or something)
Beautiful shot by Martin Campbell
I'm surprised they didn't mention it. Easily the most badass one liner by Zorro ever, and one of the best overall.
That one-liner might be one of the best in history. He's implying:
-You're going to lose this fight
-I'll be the one to kill you
-You're going to Hell
-The f***ing Devil knows my name and symbol
Um, I think you're forgetting the part where Zorro and his wife slashed their initials into the butt cheeks of that henchman.
I loved this movie as a kid and was astounded when i learned the Rotten Tomatoes score as an adult. I also have not rewatched it since that time though
Rufus Sewell as Bizorro
VERY good
Fuggin Daredevil Season 3 🍻
I don't know who that is, but I'm assuming he's good.

Please review Zorro The Gay Blade from 1981 next. I bet it aged like milk.
@@null6634 I second this suggestion! Would love to see George Hamilton's take on the character given the Mr Sunday Movies treatment.
Hear me out...
Catherine Zorro Jones
That’s a bar
Fun fact, I reversed my car into her drive way arch outside swansea cause I was too busy looking at the runway in her garden.

I really thought you were going to say Antonio Banderas wanted Pedro Pascal to do it and I was thinking “screw it, make him everyone at this point” Tom Holland is an absolutely crazy answer
Having the Gerudo Valley theme song playing during The Trivia of Zorro was a top notch editing choice.
NEW LOW QUALITY MASO PICTURE JUST DROPPED 8:50
It’s been too long!
Nah m8 him driving the tram is old news, that pic's been floating around for years now!
Is it actually him?
You missed the tram memes of 2020 or 2021 maybe
Is he a tram driver¿ always wondered what his gig was
‘Puss in Boots: The Last Wish’ is the best Zorro sequel we’ll ever see
Despite Zorro being in the public domain, only a team-up with Robin Hood, Sherlock, and Alice from Wonderland to heist Pooh from Steam Boat Willy’s luxury cruise ship could maybe make a Netflix cancelled series
“Cancelled” lmao
Dude,
Zorro V RobinHood: Down of Domain
@@umacalopsitaeumviolao would that be better or worse than batman v superman
Bet
Zorro may be public domain but Zorro Inc. will still sue you. Somehow they still hold the copyright. Some mickey mouse crap. You can freely use the one from the first book, but Disney is actually the ones who put him in all black so they own rights to that look.
So we’re doing the Puss in Boots movies next right?
For comic book guys, these two have an odd lack of appreciation for animation in general
@@mrpalaces damn you're right
The Pinkertons are like an unseen villainous force throughout Deadwood.
I remember them being pretty dodgy in “Hell on Wheels”
@@hellfish2309 Damn, they were there too?
The Pinkertons are a VERY seen villainous force in Deadwood
@@MrDpinney ya, should have really thrown in a "season one" at the end there
18:05 Maso suggests Zorro Babies but then proceeds to do a perfect impression of Tom Holland Zorro.
I am so confused.
No, he played a recording of tom holland
I’ve seen both Zorro films. My bird is called Zorro. I’m an Antonio Banderas fan, I even ranked and reviewed Legend Of Zorro on my ig just for my followers…and I still was like “Is this the first Zorro? they’re doing the first Zorro? Let me check if there’s another Zorro vid…oh okay it’s the second Zorro” lol.
...your girlfriends name is Zorro?
A movie that begs the question - “would robat battinbat have seen this one or the first one before his parents were shot?”
*shat
This series has been nice enrichment for James, I'm happy for him
He gets to do something he enjoys occasionally, as a treat.
Everyone knows Zoro, but only legends know *Zorro* 🤺
I guess if we take a time frame of several decades Zorro domains the human culture while the Japanese cartoon guy isn't even a thing yet
If it's annoying, search on Google to find something new about Zoro without Google searching for you about Zoro.
Honestly, kind of loved the recent episode that ended with him slashing a Z into the One Piece end card.
That bottle scene was actually the inspiration of the pod's old theme song
We need a return of late 90s whimsical adventure movies, they're so fun and entertaining with heart, I'm literally frothing at the mouth thinking about it or it could be the rabies tbh
Tried that a few years ago with "The Boy Who Would Be King" and no one saw it.
These titles are so interchangable i didnt watch this early cause i thought it was last weeks
Same
I spoke with Tony Amendola at Megacon in the mid 2000's. He said that there was not an official reason didn't exist. He said he liked to think that he was the younger brother of Don Luiz. With Don Luiz getting all the family favor and Father Quintero just being put into the preisthood.
Movie wish list
•Last Action Hero
•The 1950s Jules Verne movies
•Wallace and Grommit: Curse of the Wererabbit
•Chicken Run
•Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland (A real gem, Mandy Patinkin hams it up so hard as the villian and its only slightly over one hour)
•Splice( its just a really stupid movie)
•Parent Trap (both original and remake to compare how bad the original actually is and the premise itself)
Hunchback of Notre Dame
Good news m8, these movies all exist! Your wish list came true. 😊
Love Hunchback of Notre Dame
I've been meaning to re-watch the Disney "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" for ages, especially since I re-read the book (which it of course differs from in many ways).
The young man that was in Cobra Kai and Blue Beetle would be a good Zorro and Rufus Sewell would be an absolutely AMAZING Dr. Doom.
Xolo! What a good idea, he could definately makena good Zoro
Was not expecting a Torchwood: Miracle Day clip of all things but it brought me great joy
I miss Antonio banderas. He was in a lot of fun movies then just disappeared. That first zoro movie was great.
It's worse. While some projects do take better advantage of his talents these days, much of them are just Direct-To-DVD junk or small cameos.
He’s been strangely sidelined lately, at least in live action. He was so underutilized in the Uncharted movie and his role in Indy Jones Dial of Destiny was like blink and you’ll miss it.
Do yourself a favor and watch puss in boots 3
I am 42, I saw mask of Zorro in the theatre. I had no idea this sequel existed
Untill now I always thought Mason being a bus driver was some kind of long running joke of the channel my whole world crumbled. Great video as always, keep having those dogs in you !!
A tram driver. Give him his due.
10:06 major props for using the Gerudo Valley theme
That Django/Zorro movie sounds way too awesome for this world
Amazing use of Gerudo Valley 🔥
Antonia Banderas said if they can't get Tom Holland to be Zorro then they should get Chris Pratt
I would give my left hand to see a Django/Zorro movie.
Pinkertons were infamous for breaking up strikes and unions by abducting men and women in the night and force-marching them through the cold and dark all but naked. That was them being less lethal than usual. They were animals
Someone (not me) should combine all the bits of "Maso singing a line from whatever song gets mentioned" into one song somehow
My favorite part was when Zorro put on his outfit and said "It's Zorbin time!"
This video is peak James honestly.
Videos like this are the perfect opposite to the slop he has to cover for the algorithm like Madame Web 😂
I imagine Tom Holland would do really well as a swashbuckling character- he has the physicality for it, and it would be nice for him to get a chance to show it off without a bunch of CGI surrounding him- but obviously he's just not the right fit for Zorro.
Maybe he would be in a Three Musketeers reboot or something.
'Allo, me name's Aramis. I know I'm supposed to be French but I'm really just a little lad from the streets of Londontown.
Tom Holland would make a great stunt double for whomever gets the role of Zorro 😉… but I think he’s better off playing a Will Scarlett in the next iteration of Robin Hood
I mean, the BBC Musketeers was great.
Stop
Dartanian:)
I'll have to say, I have never heard someone refer to a service they're advertising as a "cool paywall" before.
When I was a kid, I assumed Tony Amendola's character was the same guy who had taken refuge in the church and was reduced to teaching children. I also assumed Zorro purposefully enrolled his malcriado son in that school to cause further misery on Tony's character.
Baby Zorro bleeding out in the street is the darkest thing ever on Caravan of Garage.
Wait Is Mason actually a Melbourne tram driver? Did I miss that beautiful piece of lore?
Yeah I don't know since when we know but he is a tram driver!
You guys need to listen to their podcast
I don’t mean to say that in a rude way either, just a really good listen
The classic 90s action series: Zorro, The Mummy, Jurassic Park, and Mission Impossible. Somehow two of these are the Rodney of Hollywood.
The mummy isn't 90's
@@stellviahohenheimYes, it is. 1999.
@@HyraxusPrimus The Mummy, the Prequels, The Matrix, and NuMetal are all relegated to the 20th century. Maybe on a technicality, but a key technicality!
9:07 I love Ben & Lawrence for pulling out the most random references, such as Nick’s failed series Genie in the House that I was sure only I remembered
James's love and protection of the Zorro franchise is peak.
I keep forgetting Maso is still a tram driver.
Like James does this full time but this is still a side hustle to him
Basically I would really like to swap bank accounts with Maso plz
Another anachronism of Legend of Zorro: President Abraham Lincoln, complete with beard, appears near the end YEARS before he was president or had a beard.
Time travel was more common in pre-civil war America than people realize.
13:09 I like how the baby has exactly zero reactions to a big gun being fired right beside it, and is in fact smiling about the whole thing.
Love the idea that Tom Holland gets cast in things he has no business being cast in because he's just a nice guy and people enjoy working with him
I love Maso saying: "A la fabrica de pegamento."
It was my favorite part of this year
Gael Garcia Barnal was supposed to be starring in one called Z, set in a post apocalyptic future, but it never got released, I assume its dead at this point, but it has an imdb page and there are loads of news articles about it.
In the newest Super Sentai series BoonBoomger, one of the main characters is a robot named "Bundorio Bunderas"
This might be only tangentially related to the subject of this video, but i can't get over how a Japanese superhero show for children randomly named a fucking robot after Antonio Banderas. I need people to know about this. Shit's wild
You know, I completely missed that the first time round and I have no idea how he could possibly be related but given every other character name is a pun I can’t say you’re wrong
That polo jousting scene is straight out A Knight’s Tale, down to Rufus Sewell braking his lance so that it’s sharp now!
the picture of mason in the train always makes me laugh
It's a tram
I think Banderas was trolling people when he said Tom Holland. I mean, look at that little smirk. Zorro, you dog
Well, SOMEONE on the editing team has been on a Torchwood/Doctor Who binge rewatch, haven't they?
You new here? Laz been putting DW references in since day dot
@@johntonssen7231Usually, I listen to the podcast rather than watching the UA-cam video.
Perfect use of a grainy Maso tram driver picture.
Enhance.
Enhance.
There was a hinted picture from Ben/Lawrence at who they think should be Zorro in this toward the start: Diego Luna.
I think that he is an incredible choice
Top notch editing again fellas, thanks!
Nice Bush reference. Swallowed's my fav of theirs
Really wasn’t expecting them to both like this one. This was the first Zorro movie I saw so I love it.
Been watching your stuff for a long time boys, it's epic chat and editing
I am LIVING for all the random 2000s era Doctor Who/Torchwood clips lmao
From the Z to the O,
To the double R-O.
He's the dude in the mask from the barrio.
With his horse and his mask and his big ol' sword.
He'll cut your butt from a '52 Ford.
oh my word - '90's "present-day" remake?
11:03 such a specific edit i respect it
God, using the best song from Ocarina of Time for the trivia segment was perfect. Always love hearing it pop up in places.
This is one of my fave CoGs. It cashes in on all of the Zorro love of the last episode in the funniest ways. I watched it once! Clicked like! Watched it again! Also the timing is amazing because my son and I watched this over the weekend and were both super engaged.
“This being legend? Mask? The one with the kid” of Zorro.
Terrific intercuts of early 2000s Nickelodeon references as always.
As a devout acolyte of 'Transformers: The Last Knight Wasn't Supposed to be a Transformers Movie...ism', words can not describe my excitement when, less than a minute in, Nicholas Mason uttered the words, "I have a thesis."
really apprecite the gavin n stacy clips thanks guys
Thank you for including the Gerudo Valley music from legend of Zelda. My favorite piece of music from the series
I also thought this one is alright. It’s a tiny bit worse, yes, but I think it’s still solid. Also I love the bit where James is clearly about to say “Rudefus Sewell”.
I very much appreciate the Gerardo Valley BGM during the trivia section
Of all things that have gone after the Pinkertons…it was somehow genteel Hallmark Canadian Romance Series When Calls the Heart! Zorro’a rizz would destroy the widows of Hope Valley, btw.
When calls the heart is underrated. Wait no. It's... What do you call it when something is better than it needs to be without actually being good at all
The video editing of this Caravan if Garbage is on POINT !!! made me laugh so much. thank you guys so much !
Gerudo Valley is crazy. Thanks, Ben and Lawrence, for that.
I'm thinking the horse might have Hypercolour fur - they were popular back then right? Great product placement opportunity there - Tornado's hair by Hypercolor(TM).
Downside of course is that the horse's pelt is just gunna end up changing colour where the Big Zed sits. If the sweat-stain pattern on my Hypercolour(TM) shirt is a guide anyway.
Just a big ol' swash right down the spinal region. Looked terrible.
On second thoughts, let's get a proper horse hairdresser to take care of it. Manic Panic or Revlon can sponsor it.
6:53 rolling on the floor as a parent who felt James' pain 🤣
Now that you have the Banderas movies out of the way when can I expect the George Hamilton Zorro movie to be covered?
Tons of camp in that one that I enjoyed a lot back in the day.
I had this movie on dvd as a young kid and I absolutely adored it
The BTS stuff about the train sequence at the end is incredible
Would love it if you could cover in Bruges and seven psychopaths, two films I absolutely love!
Love the work, keep it up!
4:37 James' classic huff at Maso's traditional interruption 😂
Well it made me laugh especially with Maso's translations 😂
I recently watched the first movie and was turned off the second because I remembered it being bad and reviews are generally bad online.. but once I saw you actually didn't mind it at the start of this vid I went and watched it and now watching your review. I actually really enjoyed it, the action was legitimately fun.
Best part about this video and the last... Gerudo Valley theme in the background 💜
Little known fact, many wines in this area, including at the location where filming took place, are made using a specially bred small sweet grape that is known by it's brilliant blue color. The film was shot during harvest season at this winery, which lead to the working title of this movie - "Sweet Grape"
Great. I can't wait for next week where you talk about the 1983 television series "Zorro and Son". All five glorious episodes of it.
Diego Luna as Zorro would be great.
Man, that gerudo valley theme fits in so… smooth
They had a red zorro. And a yellow Zorro. Pink, gold, etc. George Hamilton in Zorro the Gay Blade and it was fantastic.
I hate when they don’t put in a hint for next week it literally makes me anxious
I’m surprised they didn’t mention how much Zorro influenced Puss in Boots
shame we only got 2 zorro films with Antonio and 10 or more Fast and the Furious movies
I hear you Gerudo Valley. You thought you could hide, but not from me!
Queen of Swords was an early 2000s tv show with Highlander the series cast in it (along with Elsa Pataky), that was basically Lady Zorro. Btw, Baby Zorro is my new favorite character.
Pinkertons are bad guys in the film Matewan, bit of a deeper cut haha
I was so ready for Ben to add the color changing horse scene in Wizard of Oz
YES LAURENCE DIEGO LUNA FOR ZORRO, HE'S PERFECT
(Also that clip of Gwen from Torchwood with baby Anwen in her ear defenders was a 👌 choice, top notch.)
I’m sorry but Diego Luna from Andor would be a perfect new zorro idk how old he is but he is def younger than Antonio Banderas give him a few movies
Dude's 44, so he's the same age as Wilmer Valderrama who's currently attached to that new series James and Maso were talking about. And unlike Wilmer, Diego doesn't have any assault allegations being made against him.
Have to revisit these films.
I nearly didn’t watch this video because I thought I had already watched the Zorro COG. You should rename it The Legend of Zorro Second Zorro.
Congratulations to Mason for his joke about L'Arrivée d'un train en gare de La Ciotat. James, you missed it and it deserved more.
Y’all should do Osmosis Jones
I was 80% of the way through this video before realising that I actually have seen this movie and had just combined it with the first one in my mind. Gun to my head, could not tell you which is which.
I think the third action movie of this type you were thinking of is "Wild Wild West," and I think it explains why this kind of movie immediately fell out of favor.
Though, yes, Tom Holland would be all wrong for Zorro specifically, he could probably do really well with a swashbuckler. He's got-- or had?-- the athleticism, the agility, the easy charm, the "dancer's moves" one would need for that sort of part. I can see Banderas's logic, even if he was overlooking the blatantly obvious.
