Nah, I think it's more entertaining that they act more hostile. For example throwing Steve's chips in his face and telling him to go cash out at a pawn shop or back alley
when that security guard inquired about your passport I was just dying for you to look up and go, in perfect clueless Englishman style 'Oh! Has Missouri declared independence?"
I think one of the things I love most about this series is that it helps people understand that card counting doesn't really fit many of the myths or negative stigmas that the media and casinos would like you to believe. A few of those myths are:
1. Card counting is illegal. (yes, thinking inside a casino is still legal last time I checked)
2. Card counting is "easy, fast money." (posting crushing losses is very educational for people to see that we lose about 48.5% of sessions that we play)
3. Card counting is shady or immoral. (some of the best people I have met in my 1 year as an AP have been card counters.)
Thanks again Steven for the videos. Can't wait for the next. It's amazing to read some of these comments and to see so much positive feedback from this series.

It's funny to see all my local dealers/pit bosses. They tried to pull that ID force on me too with 2 security guards. What surprises me is they brought a gaming agent with them. Gaming agents know full well card counting isn't illegal and that casinos can't Bar you from playing for that reason. Its literally in the gaming internal controls.

True, but they can throw you out for refusing to show ID. And they have plenty of other paths to "bar" a player.
So I’m confused, don’t you have to show you have your ID if asked? Cuz it’s illegal to be in the casino without an ID.
@@rwlasvegas5989 you don't have to show anyone your ID technically unless it's for a CTR filing. But if you refuse to show it they can ask you to leave. You're only required to show ID to gain entry to the casino floor if they think you look too young. Otherwise you don't have to show it. But if you look really young and you refuse to show your ID. They might try and detain you

Our PE teacher, who also lectures maths told us one time he used card counting to mostly finance his way to become a teacher
In 1980 my undergraduate probability used card counting to teach as well. It did seem to hold our attention and feel like we were learning usefull.

@MLG Alexx I know people that have been falsely arrested and every single time the Judges granted the police what’s called “qualified immunity”.It basically allows police to say “oops I didn’t know I violated his or her rights” as a defense in civil court.
@@BrooklynBalla protects police officers from getting sued for it but doesn’t stop the department from getting sued

Aside from everything else that's great about getting one up on the casinos, the skill of card counting and the effort of traveling for so long, the editing and storytelling in this series is just really damn well done.

Woah a country wide alert ? I had no idea they took this THAT serious. I knew casinos would give each other a heads up if they figured out someone was doing this in their area, but damn, I guess surveillance has really stepped up.

Man, these videos are great! I love how you tell the story with narration and hidden footage. One of the few YT channels that I genuinely wish the videos were longer just to have more to watch.
Never understood dealers ratting out card counters, they don't get paid anymore for this. It's just being a headache for the sake of it.
I ratted out a couple, but only because they were total jerks to both the other players and the wait staff. You'd think people as knowledgeable about casino life as APs would realize that a little kindness (and a couple tips here and there) can go a long way towards extending your trip length

Nice to see people being more chill with you lol. and the fact that you can say that you are counting and they can not do anything, seems to hurt the casinos.
I think Card Counting Should be 100% allow myself like it is there is Missouri. Because if anyone is able to learn to count they deserve to be able to do so.

@@stevenbridges I know it's probably not something you'd want to do, but maybe purposely involving the police to set the casinos straight when they are hassling you would be an interesting idea. They can argue with you, but not with the police ;)

Stoked to see you came to Kansas City! I was on the edge of my seat when the back off happened at Harrahs. Long story but I was back roomed by them in 2020 arrested at the table for “felony cheating” I put chips to the left of my bet which happened to be in the bonus spot (idk if that was even the matter) to double down. Gave them a finger hand signal to show I was doubling down. I waved off my hand after receiving a card due to habit. Played for about 3-4 more hands before a sherif came and addressed me by my first and and last name and told me to stand up. To which I replied for what? I was aggressively arrested right there at the table. After reviewing the camera footage and finding that it was indeed a mistake by dealer not catching my hand signal. Im felony free and in the middle of a law suit. Harrahs will find any reason they can to remove you from the table if you’re up big on them. Glad it wasn’t too crazy for you, & happy birthday! Favorite series on UA-cam hands down.

I am really disgusted with the dealer at the casino in Arkansas...Very slimy of him to rat you out. It's not his money you were winning, and the more you make, the more tips he gets. Perfect example of why I always scoff at dealers who try to buddy up with me and claim "I want you to make $$$, it's better for me." In reality, most of them get enjoyment out of taking our $$$

Secondly, on days when you lose big individually, do your team mates ever show disappointment (even though it’s normal to have some bad days) or are they okay as long as you are making a profit overall as a team?
Thirdly, will we ever get to see you do magic again? Loved the series where you film yourself coming up with a magic trick from scratch!
We all feel it when someone loses but the disappointment is always directed towards the game, never the player.
I had a team mate once lose an insane amount of money in a few hours and we were all like ‘that sucks but well done for playing through the pain’

Couldn't handle the wait anymore, so subbed to CuriosityStream + Nebula (using your code of course!) to get a week ahead. Loved seeing the team graph at the end (I won't spoil it for anyone waiting to see the ep).
I'm a semi-pro sports bettor myself (this is my second year of doing it; I'll call myself pro if I have similar earnings to last year), with a similar EV to AP Blackjack, and I will say the lows never get easier even if you trust that you'll eventually get pretty close to your expected value. I can relate so hard to losing sessions, because you spend all that time and your bankroll is even worse than if you took the day off (just had a huge day with about 9 hours of work invested... to end up 6 units down 😅).
But both sports bettors and card counters know it's all about the long run, even if the short run can be psycholigically taxing at times. So from the bottom of my heart, from someone that is doing something similar to what you do (each of my bets is essentially like a hand with a decent true count) and as someone that can struggle with the mental hits from negative variance days, thank you for providing content like this as a reminder that it's a grind, and that bad days will happen but don't define us.

Just wanted to comment about the Bailey's situation..
I know after being backed off so aggressively out of one casino you get the impression of it being that way in all other casinos of the house.
Me personally I am a croupier in a casino in Germany and there's a total of 12 spread around the area that belong to our company.
Eventhough all of us are being "forced" (more like expected) to be friendly and respectful to any guest, one specific casino stands out being rude and unfriendly towards their guests, even us, their collegues, don't really like them :D
So it might be completely different from one to another casino and I doubt there should be big worries, especially because you're a professional and know how to deal with such situations.

Wonder why every casino can't just be like that other casino that backed you off in the kindest way possible. Lower stress, less bad press, nobody will talk smack about you once they're gone...
It seems to make the casino a bit nicer when kicking you put after you're down 12k.

Hey Steven I always wondered whenever a casino does not even let you cash out chips without an I.D even though its illegal why not save the hassle and get a friend who does not gamble to cash it out for you?
Happens all the time. Passing chips "under the table" is very common. For larger chip denominations the Casino sometimes asks what table you played at and confirms with security to make sure you actually earned them there but I've only encountered that at a single casino. Steven is solo so he would need close friends or his team members in other areas to come help him as he's not going to hand over thousands to a rando to cash him out
