The gaming commission were clueless on gaming laws? What a shocker 🙄
I know... why am I surprised?
Is this an American thing? In Australia we have the Gaming and Racing Commission governing and regulating gambling within the country and they know EVERYTHING.
Most likely a bunch of oafs in "pre-retirement" who dgaf
@@Davezy1 in Las Vegas they do know everything but in many states where gambling is not that big they don’t care
@@Davezy1 It's not a government agency in the U.S. without massive incompetence and corruption. This holds true regardless of age, sex, political affiliation, or race.

lololol
"We have a policy" "so you're admitting your policy is to break the law?"
My policy is that casinos with official policy to break the law would, were things to be ideal, receive a very flammable surprise if the government refuses to regulate them.
This is literally my favourite series on UA-cam right now
same
How about metaphorically? Figuratively? Or is it strictly literal?
Same here. I just wish he would have shared some footage of his meal at Olive Garden. Lately I don't know what the hell to order there. It's like they stopped giving a fuck ten years ago.
@@kapwns🤔
The fact they didn't care about the law I feel like you should unblur these criminals faces so the police can deal with them.
Yeah the blurring thing is actually not a legal thing. Like, as far as I'm aware there's no legal requirement for me to blur any of the faces.
There's a few reasons I do it:
- So people aren't motivated to sue me (it would be baseless but baseless lawsuits can still be expensive)
- Because I don't want them to get doxed or harassed. The phrase 'punishment fits the crime' comes to mind and being doxed is a pretty traumatic thing to experience.
- Because my main issue is with the casinos themselves, and less with the people in them. Sure, I think that last guy was a dick, but I don't think I'd even want him to have hundreds of thousands of people verbally attack him online.
However I wouldn't hesitate in sending all the un blurred videos to police/gaming if I thought it would do something.
@@stevenbridges at this point, would it ever from a wasted time trying to cash out perspective, ever be worth it to have a lawyer step in? Granted i dont know the general hourly rate a lawyer would charge to threaten a casino with legal action, but your time must be valuable aswell i imagine.
They'll care when a good guy with a gun wants to cash out without ID.
@@stevenbridges That would make sense if you didn't say where the casino was and left their build/voice unedited.
@@Willettes1 It's not about making it impossible, it's about reducing the ease of which to do it. Making it harder to find out who these people are could be the difference between a load of hate emails and one person going 'hey you're in that steven bridges video'.
That casino is so infuriating, I never jump to "just sue them" but if they're so nonchalant about actively breaking the law then they should really be looked into
Yeah, I do have a friend who is potentially suing a casino for something they did. So let's hope that goes well, just on principle.
Suing a casino would cost you hundreds of thousands of legal fees for multiple years until you win and get it all back, settle, or going bankrupt.
@@whammaster do you know that for a fact? At least sometimes, when you are the one suing and the suit is likely to succeed then there are lawyers that might work on contingency. So, they would take the case and wouldn't be paid by the hour, but they will take a portion of whatever you win (say 30%-50%).
@@Andrew_Young "Do you know that for a fact" that is insanely charged wording to respond with.
Cases that the casino knows they will lose is them settling out of court. Or what you explained. It is a process for the lawyer to maintain a winning track record with their firm so they can be placed on higher end cases later. No one wants a lawyer that constantly losses in court.
Actively breaking the law? Put down your team colors for the moment. There is no law prohibiting their ID requirement. And suing the casino is pointless. They can simply request confirmation of the identity of the person suing them and cut you a check, also putting your information in a database of unwelcome individuals.
They are required to cash out your chips. They are not required to let you stay anonymous. They have powerful lobbyists helping to write laws in their favor. And not a lot of people are that concerned with their privacy.
Gaming Commission is supposed to be a consumer protection agency but instead they conspire to protect the casinos

@@theestateshoppebythreer2094 I thinks the requirements are much lower for video poker and slots but I don't know. Table games work differently
The casinos have direct lines to gaming officers, and/or gaming control. You are within your rights to demand the presence of one, if you feel you are being wronged. I have seen this happen many times in Las Vegas. This is coming from a 28 year casino veteran.
That’s great to know! Thanks!
Nevada gaming actually does their job unlike most states
After this is over, there's potential for a "Beat the Odds: Lawsuit Edition" with all the legal violations that these casinos are committing.

Steven you should bring with you print outs of the local states laws regarding these issues you constantly run into. And give it to them each time they ask
Yeah this is a great idea, I definitely should have done this
@@stevenbridges This is smart to do for sure.
I’ve actually had interactions with Police who don’t know their own laws, when I know the actual law and just pulling up the state website and showing them helps an awful lot.
However, the fact that some of these people “don’t care” is concerning and makes me think they may not have the patience to read a law off a piece of paper and process it.
I can’t believe you haven’t done this
I agree with everything except for the fact that they can’t be bothered to read the law. If you the manager then you need to read the law but if your just a random employee you aren’t going to go against what your boss says so then saying I don’t care what the law is perfectly valid.
You are assuming that law enforcement personnel care that much about the laws as written. I suspect some of them make things up as they go along making sure to protect the interests of “important” people / corporations.
Love the saltiness from you this back off. You’re nicer than most of these casino bosses deserve. Best of luck on whatever’s next!
Haha yeah, I think my hungriness really contributed to my anger 😂

Why can't every backoff be like this.
"Hey, nice job counting cards........no more blackjack"
Another brilliantly entertaining video! Can't believe the fact casino staff are not trained to a reasonable level on the law!!
Thank you! Yeah you'd think!
I am reasonably certain that they are and are following orders from higher up to disregard it. Look at the hassle that they put Steven through just for them to eventually give him his money. I would bet that a Director or Shift Manager was gambling that Steven wouldn't be in the country long enough (or have the desire) to find a competent gambling lawyer and bring a civil suit against them. A gamble that they won, I might add. I would further guess that had Steven not had an English accent and was more of a good ol' boy, they would have relented in the end, especially with a name-drop of a local lawyer
Of course they know the law nothing about training, they wanted his ID. Why you need a lawyer to get it done.
Great videos.
Perhaps the fact you post these videos is what your problem here is in cashing out, and this will only get worse.
Like it or not most casino employees are heavy gamblers. They also watch these videos.
You’re good at what you do, but maybe you’ll make more in life not posting these videos.
Its actually similar to policeman. Teaching the law would reduce number of harrassments and arrests. So they play ignorant kr keep their people ignorant to abuse people who dont know any better.
As someone who has worked in Casino Surveillance and with Gaming for years, I can not possibly apologize enough for how this shit goes REGULARLY. Hahah just say ‘Hi Steven’ and you’ll save us both the ID chat 😂
Well it’s good to hear this angers people in the industry. Because all my frustration is really at the casinos themselves. Most casino staff are really nice people.
I’d be interested in learning about the people who run casinos. For some reason i feel if the truth of who they are was available, the public would want them on spikes yesterday.

I lost patience during a hostile backoff once and said something like “All this because I’m good at your card game? Seriously, don’t offer gambling games to the public if you’re afraid to lose sometimes.” I’ll probably use that line more often in the future..
Not to mention that card counting, overall, impacts casinos in the most minimal amount possible revenue wise
@@present3348 Are you a casino employee?
@@kfullmer89he certainly sounds like one from that tangent lmao
@present3348 What you're saying doesn't make sense. First of all, counting works by looking at whether the cards left are high or low. The dealer of the casino wouldn't be able to use card counting because they have to draw till 18. Also if a rule isn't published then its not a rule. Casinos do have the right to back you off, but you're not breaking any laws/rules. If casinos don't want card counters they can just not offer blackjack, or shuffle the deck between rounds. As a resident of Louisiana, I must tell you that the government in this state is inept, corrupt, and incapable of completing simple tasks.
Right wingers purposely make the government inept, corrupt and incapable of completing simple tasks, so they can then point to said government and say "See, we told you they were inept, corrupt and incapable of completing simple tasks, we need less government and more privatization!!" You're an animal on the casino floor bro, it's really cool to watch it. I'm glad I found your channel.
I believe it's actually illegal to ban card counters (or any skill based play) in Louisiana (if that's not the state you're talking about for next episode) so those casinos backing you off this and past episode were also breaking the law in that way as well. Sadly it seems like despite passing the law in 2018 the state has done nothing to enforce it -_- . Anyway, cool videos!
Yeah I think you're right there!
If that's the case, you 100% have to go back to the casinos that backed you off and play again. Please, I NEED this...
@@jonathans3878 The problem is that there are no consequences to ignoring the law, so they'll just break it like it doesn't exist. This a hard thing in general where the right to refuse service runs up against other rights and the courts aren't (or don't want to) intervene.
For example, you can't ban someone from your shop for being black, but you can refuse to do business with them without specifying a reason why. And it takes a court identifying a pattern of behavior and intervening to make anything change.
If Steven went back, he'd likely be told he couldn't play, without any justification. And there would be nothing in the moment he could do that would make the casino budge.
I'm pretty sure this is the case in almost all of the U.S. It seems some of the other casinos in the series knew that. They didn't tell him to leave or that he couldn't play. They set a low table limit and cut the deck thin to take away his advantage where he would want to leave, but they did let him continue to play because it's acutally illegal to boot him for counting.
They dont have to give him a reason to deny service. What he is doing is on par with Sovereign Citizens or Audit The Police types. Theres something patriotic and even heroic about people who try to push back against forms of control but it doesn't usually end well for them quite the opposite.
Not gonna lie after all the times you've been polite to casinos jerking you around it was HILARIOUSLY satisfying to see a moment where you go off on them and really make it clear just how garbage they are.
Yooo man glad you are back!
I can't believe that I actually just cheered out loud when you made it to Olive Garden on time 🤣🤣
Thank you for these videos. You've singlehandedly convinced me to NEVER play in any casino again. Seeing the lengths they go to so they can prevent people making any money from them shows their true nature. Criminals with a license. The fact they'll back you off, ban you in some cases and withhold your money because you have a small advantage on a game they make MILLIONS from people everyday is disgusting. More people need to see this to see how these criminals actually operate. I can't say I'm surprised though.. I worked in a Ladbrokes 5-6 years ago and they would pretty much do the same there to anyone who would win over £1500 more than once from Horse betting because they had ''insider information'. I would have the security team literally call me up and tell me to investigate random customers, try and find out their name by trying to befriend them and then 10 minutes later they would limit every single one of there bets to a £25 max stake or £50 if they would sign up to 'The Grid' where they essentially have access to all of your information and freeze all the money in your account as soon as you win a significant amount.. the same thing that guy tried to do with you 'get a players card' (I've seen this several times) I knew then these places were dodgy then but for some reasons I thought casinos were different.. clearly not.
I heard a stat once from another video. The percentage of profits card counters take from casinos is 1/10th of 1%, potentially. And look how fiercely the casinos try and defend every cent and try and keep people from winning. As you say, criminals with a license. It really does put you off.
To be fair, there are TWO games that you can win and the casino won't try to throw any roadblocks at you: poker and sports booking. Because the winnings are paid by the losers and not the casino itself, the casino doesn't care who wins or who loses and won't actively try to stop you if you're winning.

The hardest part about card counting if you're disciplined is getting away with it. Especially as a young white guy.

They didn't violate his rights. What they did was breach the contract that was created when he bought in and they handed him chips to play with. Also, you must be kidding if you think any casino is going to allow you back inside after you win a lawsuit against them lol. They would undoubtedly trespass him (ban him from the premises) and as soon as he set foot in there again they would call the police and get him charged him with trespassing just to get him back. 100% this is what would happen.
The Olive Garden question genuinely had me in suspense, I won't lie.

I discovered these videos just a couple days ago and have been binge watching them like my life depended on it, love the content, and I’ve actually seen a card counter in action at Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma (from Texas where gambling is illegal :/) and made the horrible decision to sit at his table, he was very obvious with it taking sometimes up to 30 seconds to make a decision whether to hit or stand with what I believe to be a 5 deck shoe, after about 2 1/2 hours he was never backed off and had won so much that he was tipping $100s to the dealer for “luck” and buying everyone at the table drinks of their choice
TL;DR: Choctaw Casino doesn’t seem to care if you’re counting and it’s an absolutely massive casino
Sounds to me like he doesn't actually know what he's doing and was just getting lucky. Tipping tons of money to the dealer sounds like it would destroy the player's edge over the casino. I'm sure he was trying his best to use some system to beat the casino, but the ostentatious display of wealth makes it sound to me like he's trying his best to appear successful without really being successful.
Hey Steven, it's great to see this casino behaviour called out, and I think you should keep exposing them on the channel. That being said, it would be nice to also see at least *some* card counting theory in each video. It's a neat craft and I love seeing the math and graphs!

the thing that blows my mind the most is... the biggest issue makers are at casinos where you are down 1-3k dollars... they literally profited on you and then make a scene... :')
While in a den of thieves, you seem so surprised when sketchy shit happens.
Hire a lawyer to help your team. It won't cost too much. If you ever get into a situation the nuclear bomb is, "Ok, I'm just calling my lawyer."
As a magician, I find these video fascinating. I've only ever card-counted as a trick but have thought about doing it at a casino... It must be harder than it looks simply due to the added pressure of being watched like a hawk!
It's hard due to the fast pace, noise, crowds of people, lights, casino personnel
It takes a lot of acting skills, multitasking and strength to handle back offs. I was kicked off property while staying at the casino (free room) at like 2am 😂
Bankroll Management is critical too
This has cured me of any slight desire I had to go to a casino, anywhere, even for a club sandwich.
Many casino restaurants operate at a slight loss. The money they make from every other revenue source more than makes up for it, plus people that come for the cheap food will often lose more on slots than they saved in the buffet, so it ends up as a net positive for them. Just gotta have the self-control to not pull the lever on the way out the door after your meal

Not being able to get in touch with a police department isn't just an issue for gamblers, it undermines the value of the whole justice system. Sorry the law didn't even have your back but you got out of these situations safely x
For the second casino, I may be wrong. But if they did think you were under 21 they would still have to cash you out, but then not let you play any games until you produce ID - it doesn't make sense that they'd be able to withhold your money - even if you were underage.
The only way that would be fair is if they were also required to refund losses to underage gamblers, which you know they won’t do
Man i love the video's but im also glad this man got his pasta
Outside of Nevada, very very few casinos in the U.S. care in the slightest about the laws that oversee them.
