I can't wait to see these boys training with us in northern 🇦🇺. AAV is getting long in the tooth. I hope the 8x8 can handle the big variety of surfaces you find in the world's beaches.
The old one was bad ass. I feel like were trying to fix unbroken things but it's all good
I was a Crew chief of a scout LAV25 as a forward observer. We were in 29 palms just driving around and getting a feel for the equipment.
Jake, my driver yelled over the coms “hang on corporal” as he gun it and hit a six foot tall berm.
I grabbed hold of the bar inside and tried to keep myself as stable as I could as the entire tonnage and all eight wheel went airborne, and slightly at a angle as the engine screamed for not being on the ground anymore. I was still trying to maintain a grip as my mind imagined the worst case scenario.
Fortunately the shocks on those things are as enormous as jakes balzak, because it was like landing in the snow.
Which, we did that later in Bridgeport doing cold weather mountain survival training.
Playing with those toys, it will change your life. Mostly for the better, mostly.
Why are the ACVs breaking down so much ?
I believe it after seeing how fast these guys gunned it into the ocean! 😂 Thanks for your service, mate!
Quick Q, what's it like as a crewman doing fording & landing ops? Is it scary being in a small can on the ocean?
@@corvanphoenix if it overturns you could drown since the vehicle will get flooded it's not a submarine. Also some other guy said they are breaking down so they are NOT safe and US tax payers like me are paying for vapor ware
@@corvanphoenixnever crewed on amphibious operations, just been inside the can, praying we don’t die.
Was the drag show afterward.
