One person can change tracks by himself in the field on a BV206 from stop and go with one track changed in less than 20 minutes. Fieldservice and ease of maintainance is outstanding on the 206 with a longtime proven and 2021 upgraded design and maintancelogistics. This Bronco has a long way to go to beat the 206 in the field. It just works.

Cool stuff. Still, 3 times heavier than bv 206. Thats a big thing since offroad capabilites are the most important thing in this type of vehicles.

Sad to go from Singapore to Finland to do snow trials and there is "no" snow. You need a 1.2 meter or more to do proper testing...

It's interesting that the ST Engineering VP compares his company's Bronco to the old but capable Bv206 instead of the Bv206's larger successor, the BvS 10, The larger BvS 10 (Viking, Beowulf, etc.) is already in service with Austria, France, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom, Ukraine (48 BvS-10s donated by the Dutch and U.K). Future operators are Germany (367 ordered with delivery commencing in 2024), Canada (100 vehicles with delivery from 2029-2030) and the United States (136 Beowulf models to be delivered by 2029). So good luck with the scraps left on the table, the big wallet boys have bought from BAE / Hägglunds. It is also important to note that France broke with their tradition of supporting domestic products, in this case the Bronco, built jointly by ST Engineering and the big French defense contractor Thales.

I would add a 360 degree camera system for SA, larger front cab side windows & add a second set for the back seat. Add ROSY system from KMW. keep the rear cab door window.

@@stupidburp more capable in what way?

    • @stupidburp
      @stupidburp 5 років тому +3

@@zoom5024 Better protection, more weight capacity, more volume, better mobility for weight class, more weapons capacity, more modern systems options already integrated. 206 can have better mobility in some ways but in a much smaller package with very limited protection.
Hagglunds could likely create a vehicle of equal or better capability but they have not yet and don't appear to have plans to do so.

Certainly a great device in many ways. However, would that main idea have been forgotten when various accessories and features are added to the device?
The main feature of these light off-road trucks is to transport a reasonable amount of goods/people behind the front line from place to place in difficult, even submersible, conditions.
I want to ask, is this device capable of transporting 20-30 men in full combat gear to a distance of 100 kilometers in 4 hours? There is a 2-kilometer wet swamp in the terrain, there is a 3-meter-thick snow cover in the high mountains for a 4-kilometer distance.
There is no possibility of refueling there, and 7 wounded people who are lying down have to be brought back. The journey must be made as silently as possible.
When building these devices, the intended use must not be forgotten.

If by “steal” you are implying that this is a copy of the BVS ? All tracked vehicles look sometimes look similar from the outside. Perhaps it may help to look into the details of the milspecs. The British armed forces replaced 108 of their BsV10 in their operations in Afghanistan with the Broncho ATTC. The Vikings were found wanting. This was in 2008. Perhaps there is something good in the Broncho / I defer to the military experts ( the soldiers in the frontline) in the British Army.

its an evolutionary design, obviously coming from the BV as a base for what is needed, and designed for specificaly where the BV lacks.. both are incredibly useful and valuable vehicles for their roles, but the BV was never the best as an APC, same with the humvee, however, the bronco and the various MRAPs replacing the humvee will never be the best as a utility vehicle where the BV and humvee can shine..
and if you want to complain about people stealing designs, we finns made our own (better in some ways) in the 80s, the sisu nasu, the russkies have their own variants, and im not even sure the BV202 was even the first vehicle like it..

Not a copy, stole no designs, according to Hagglunds. They were suspicious too at first but after looking at the design details they knew it was significantly different.

This is a copy of BAE Systems Hägglunds tracked vehicles. The video presents it as something new. BAE
Systems Hägglunds has produced this type of tracked trailer since 1970.
Ridiculous to write that it is a better project than BAE Systems Hägglunds tracked vehicles that are sold to the USA,
the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Pakistan, Spain, Singapore, UK, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Finland, France, Germany,
Italy, Greece, Israel, Malaysia, Mexico, South Korea, New Zealand, Ireland and where it is made in original, Sweden!

The UK had to purchase these vehicles under an UOR for Afghanistan, as the BV206 was not able to withstand the i.e.d.’s. I believe that since the withdraw they were removed from service and are up for sale, with the RM going back to the BV206, no idea as to why that decision was made.
