- Watch a convoy of large tank transporters hauling Warrior armoured fighting and recovery vehicles, with their up-armoured package, back to camp.
The Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle is used across the Royal Armoured Corps of the British Army. It transports troops and provides firepower support to infantry, often following Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks in the field. Here, we see Warriors with their up armoured package as used in battle. Also seen are Warriors without their package, out training. And Warriors of the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers.
The Oshkosh 1070F 8x8 is the large tractor unit of the Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) tasked with transporting battle tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, and other heavy vehicles on the 14 wheeled King Trailers seen in the video. These are operated by KBR FTX Logistics Ltd, who are contracted to the Ministry of Defence to provide transport during peacetime and are reservists for the British Army. The frontline unit is 19 Tank Transporter Squadron of the Royal Logistics Corps at Bulford Camp, who operate the vehicles during military operations and in addition to their civilian counterparts.

No it wasn't. Things were transported in the exact same way. It's just that back then people didn't have devices with cameras.

Yeah, the Challys routinely travel to Castlemartin in Wales. Lulworth and a few other places for the Warriors, too. Always a sight.
They're usually there over the weekends. Anyone remember the Bundeswehr Leopards of the 60s down there? Interesting to see the Panzer-esque schurtzen on today 's Warriors.

I heard a story about a group of tanks like that finding themselves surrounded by enemy artillery ...this proved to be very painful and unfortunate for the enemy artillery...
These look like Warrior MCVs. Apparently, there still over 600 in service.

Haha, always makes me chuckle when I see camo with hi vis. It's for good reason though, paint can't be changed as quickly as taking lights on and off. On public roads they flash amber to warn others of their oversize, in a battle zone they lose the warning lights & hi viz, and can wear extra camo if needed.

Not in these trucks. These are from 19 Tank Transport Squadron, 27 Regiment RLC, based in Bulford.

They're operated by a civilian company, FTX Logistics Ltd, most days, and by soldiers, 19 Tank Transporter Squadron, during wartime, deployments, and during increased movements where more hands are needed. They have MoD regs they can switch to.
