- Marines assigned to Weapons Co., Battalion Landing Team (BLT) 3/2, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), are transported, via landing craft, air cushion (LCAC), from the USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) to a simulated raid mission and back, near Onslow Beach, N.C. The 26th MEU is conducting Composite Training Unit Exercise, the final phase of a six-month pre-deployment training program. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response and limited contingency operations. Produced by U.S. Marine Corps motion media. Video by Cpl. Chris Stone | 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit

The engineering going into one of those LCAC’s has gotta be incredible.
Oh man now this really takes me back. Noise, salt, jet fuel, and more noise. My station was on the fantail. LSD-49 1996-1998.
Brings back some awesome memories! Wpns Co, CAAP 1/2, 22D MEU aboard the USS Kearsarge 1997 Operation Nobel Obelisk, Sierra Leone.
I as well as my Marines got sick as hell riding in that small closet on that LCAC. 1993 Camp Lejeune. Ill never forget that awful 30 minute ride back to Onslow Beach.
I served on that ship 94-98 and got lucky to ride on one of those very cool
I'm a plank owner of this ship 92-94
I remember that, it was loud as hell!!!!
+Damien Holliday WHAT?
@@TheDustysix OKAY!!!
We are all nearly deaf.
So amazing how precise that is , thanks for the great video!
3:46 nice.
Thank you very much for all of us military videos
Fun times‼️‼️
Great footage! It one thing we will never be able to accurately bring to live in our model-boats and hovercrafts.... It´s great to watch them fly in that slow,.. I alway thought they might use a bit more speed to overcome the ramp... but the risk of crashing prevents this? Thanks a lot for uploading this great footage! Holger from Subwaterfilm
The ship ballasts down to so that there is 0-6" of water at the edge. As you can see the wave action was pretty high then so yea, slow and easy. What looks like a little bump could cause some extensive damage to those.
I was embarked aboard the Kearsarge in 97 with Wpns Co BLT 1/2
Wow this is my old ship 🛳 that I deployed on 2016-2017 USMC CLB 26
Wow....the noise and the coxswain driving that beast... uscg here.. lol
4:05 I knew these kinds of wipers existed! Why aren't these on the back of vans and SUVs instead of those tiny 6" turds that barely get anything?
I was stationed on the Special K that year😊
Awesome 😎
the noise must be unbelievable. if i was the enemy the tanks wouldn't need to get of off i'd run away just because of the noise. must be awesome to be in the ship as the leave and get back on.
Cant hear them coming... silent till going away from you
Geary Long cool thanks very much. wondered how it would get any where near the beach with out waking the dead
Is in loud to operate turbines and fans inside an enclosed steel box?
To All Of Those In Our Naval Service, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Godspeed for the New Year. From an Old Fart, Semper Fi.
Holy crap! I bet that's loud.
lol You wouldn't believe how loud. Marines not used to the noise got spooked, including me. I thought it was a hurricane.
So, will the LCAC's be able to carry 4 of the new Light Tanks the Army just contracted for?
Soldier: Herp Derp.. Just another day in the military
ME: O______O HOLY FUGGING SHEEEIT!!
Sailors/muhrines, no soldiers on these
Do the crews stay the LAVs and Humvees for the trip?
Spitzrock Yes, loud, wet, and nauseating.
can someone explain to me how the LCAC's aren't smashing into the walls?
very cool overall
A skilled craftmaster
Those skirts underneath also assist from hitting the sides....they bounce some
Hooyah gator Navy!
The good ole LHD 3 well deck. I remember it being filled with Haitian and Cuban refugees. Tense times.
LCAC demonstration
RIP to all ear drums
What tanks are those?
LAV-25
What's the mileage like?
Think gallons per mile...
Battlefield 3?
gator navy for life
Impressive and you need to remember these are being operated by mostly teenagers, with a few 20-somethings.
Incorrect. These are operated by the Navy enlisted. But they need to be E7 or higher. These guys have close to 20 years in the service. Definitely not teenagers.
Actually, most of the craftmasters that I have met have been chiefs and senior chiefs in their 30s or 40s. The coxswain and engineers were mostly junior enlisted, but they were pretty much in a so-called apprenticeship to be craft masters themselves. This is a special program in the navy that requires heavy physical and educational aptitude screening. I know this, because I am applying for it as my next duty.
Hey look a guy that doesn't know what he's talking about on the internet.
@@sempergumby1276 Not necessarily. I was an E-6 after 6 years. We had a Chief E7 he had barely 8 years service. It depends on you're specialty. These crafts are normally manned by GSE's/M's. Gas turbine Technicians. If you enlist for the 6 yrs. program by the time you finish your A School (6 months ) plus bootcamp (2 months) its automatic E-4. Add another year to get to E-5. Another 3 to got to E-6. Barely 5 years in you're already at E-6. I was 25 and was already an E-6. I was 23 years old when I became an instructor for the Gas Turbine School in Great Lakes, IL. The Navy offered me to be in these program as part of my reenlistment. Unfortunately they close the US bases in my home country the Philippines. I always wanted to be stationed in the Philippines so I left the Navy.
@@raycuizon8226 They are GSM's and GSE's on the boats. I was an OSCS as a Craftmaster and the Navigator is an OS's or QM's. Just depends.
Where's Ripley & the Aliens🤓
Was this in alien?
I would freaking hate being in the navy on ships. Looks horrible
