Cracking video and stunning views. The extended shelter with the wood store looks great, plenty of dry wood to see you through. Tyson always makes me smile, his expression so said he thought that the bed and chair were made for him, but he'll let you share.

Truly AN EPIC VIDEO! You took an extended winter trip and made it accessible to your fans. Pacing was excellent and content was varied. I always love your nature photography and you showed the best of frost and Ice and a return to the ladybugs. The village is fast becoming 'iconic' on UA-cam. No one else has the freedom, the drive and the willingness to go out so often or for so long as you do! Well...maybe Fowler...but your food is much better...and YOU have TYSON!

Build a bunk bed. In theory the air at the ceiling of a shelter should be warmer than on the floor, providing your shelter is well-sealed. Good video once again

I have to say mate, your axe technique leaves a little to be desired. I am amazed you have any fingers left too, lol. 25 years or so ago I lived in a commune in North Eastern Scotland called Blaireno. Everyday I would volunteer to chop the wood for the rayburns and woodburners I found it so therapeutic. Watching you chop wood is quite relaxing to watch, although there are some cringe moments. I used to flip the axe over with the log attached and use the hammer side of the axe on the block, rather than holding it and risk nipping a finger off or damaging your hands. Just an idea anyway mate. Stay safe and keep warm....

Nice one John, the work and improvements at the village are always worth watching. Tyson looks made up to be in on the adventures, I've got a Shih Tzu that refuses to camp out or take part in any adventures that take place beyong the living room hearth. I'd love to find a landowner who'd let me rig up a shelter or two, but the only local farmer I know is such a tight arse, when he farts only dogs can hear it. Great video. I have a question: Why don't you put a door on the hut? Be a little warmer with a log door, gaps sealed with clay. I know with a wood fire burning you need some ventilation but a couple of small gaps top and bottom will sort that. :)
