- cooking with wild garlic leafs and flowers at my flood camp I used my Dutch army canvas tent as my shelter for the night and was with my dog Tyson was a brilliant night brushing up on old skills and using my axe and saw for wood for a nice big fire big thanks for watching

Tyson looks like he is comfortable sleeping in a tent, in a hammock or on a blanket. You two seem to enjoy each other’s company and enjoy just being two guys camping.
Dogs are happy where owner is sleeping even in cardboard box

I don't know if I watch your videos for your nature shots, still flower shots, charting the moon and weather, experiencing your camping experimentations and skills, watching the cow's reactions, seeing what you are going to cook and HOW you are going to prepare it.....or just the fact that you and Tyson are REAL SOUL MATES.... I just can't seem to get enough!!!!

to me, one of the greatest things about your videos is your ability to connect with so many different kinds of people. i read the comments and they are from people all over the world! you have a way of explaining whatever you are working on that makes me feel like i am a part of it. when i see the camps through your eyes i learn many new things as well as am reminded to appreciate some of the old things that may already be around me. your videos keep me aware of how wonderful and beautiful nature is and how it should be treated with respect. several times i have heard you talk about not tramping over the farmers field or keeping tyson on a leash while you are walking so the cows will not become upset. i think you are a talented and wonderful young man. your mom must be very proud of you! thank you for another lovely video! respectfully yours, patty in mexico

I want to be Tyson, running along familiar routes, he nearly drags you with him. Always turning around to check your still there. Chewing branches, sticks and scrumptious stuffed chicken with fresh garlic and mature cheddar cheese. Sitting staring into the fire with you smiling looking at how funnily he sits. Then snuggling up in a warm tent in your artic sleeping bag. Then biscuits and bacon for breakfast. epic
We lost our girl Gretchen last Friday to cancer, please give Tyson a hug from us. (Profile pic is Brody, we lost him a year and a half ago.)

It is heart breaking when you lose a beloved pet..I feel for you. I lost my dog Molly 8yr ago..I still shed a little tear for her sometimes. 😢

Hence, the need for Carlisle195 to use a waterproof tarp over the tent when rain is expected. Canvas is good for me, as long as there is an open side. The smell of the water/mildew treatment bothers me and always has, even when I was a young lad camping under farm tarps we used to protect loads of grain. I am always AMAZED by how much you and Tim trust the weather forecast. Anywhere I have lived in the USA, the forecast was always just a 'suggestion' of what might happen. I am a true fan of 'real food' in camp. Even when I was backpacking for several days, I brought potatoes, carrots, onions and the like that I could add to frozen meat or cured meat or to decent canned meat. I LOVE to cook (my grandfather was a chef.) Seeing the chicken breast roll up led me to bring 'Moo Gloo', a 'molecular gastronomy product, to your attention. It binds proteins together (well, it is made from cow's milk) and it has helped me to keep my chicken/ham roll ups in neat slices when plated. The result is not 'gummy' inside, nor does it change flavors. It works just the same over a wood fire! What a beautiful, juicy, colorful chicken/ham roll-up! WOW!

Thanks for the video, very enjoyable. I own a much loved woodland pattern Dutch Tent and the only two downsides are, as you say, the leaky zips and lack of any points inside to hang lamps etc from. As mentioned by James below I've found a 3x3 tarp to be a excellent solution, stick it straight over the tent with the corners facing front to back so it makes a little porch over each entrance and guy it down and that, with a little tweaking, will keep you dry. Also they're not lightweight tents so big respect for lugging it the distances that you do!

EXERCISE! LOL! I sure have missed all your great cooking, that stuffed chicken looked really good. Can't wait for your oven cooking to start up again. I also agree keep it clean. And again I have to tell you what a great job you have done with Tyson. He knows to wait for your command for food. I have seen dogs grab food right out of someones hands and it wasn't their dog either. Can't help but love Tyson. Oh that was a little wierd there at the end with the nosey cows.
