You are the first reaction video i saw that, not only put attention to those absolutely brilliant lyrics, but also nailed the interpretation. Music is kinda like a superpower in a way, as an artist, you get the opportunity to write a message to the world! Tailor Swift choses to tell the world about miserable relationships from 20 ex-boyfriends while system of a down choses to tell you that you should be aware of how others influence your state mind in a negative way, so you can start protecting yourself. There is definately a difference in value here.
How do you calculate value? I'm pretty sure there are lots of broken hearted people who can relate to her songs and feel like, "hey i know it's shitty but I'm not alone." it's therapeutic and that's why so many of us love music. Her style may not be your style, but we don't have to put a person down to celebrate another.
@@dinkin_flicka14 I feel you're just being pedantic for the sake of being pedantic. As a comparison: yes, fast food is - technically - food and most people that choose to consume it do so because it's cheap and convenient, but do we all collectively need to point out the difference between fast food and a home cooked / proper restaurant meal with quality ingredients or the difference in the effects on your body? Stop being the way you are. Please. (Also, there are plenty of "healthy" musical options for broken hearts, instead of the fast food music that people like the aforementioned Taylor Swift put out)
Dreaming, Soldier side,Question, Cigaro, Peephole... And this list goes through many their great songs. You can choose 1 of suggested for next. thanks for your work
I was 11 when this song came out and honestly it's still probably my favourite SOAD song. Their early videos are pretty wild though haha, but since the beginning their videos have also always had often profound imagery and symbolism that reinforces the meanings behind the lyrics... and I think you nailed the analysis on this one!
I dunno how, but Taylor keeps nailing the meanings behind the songs of a band like SYSTEM, when everyone else who reacts to them just gets so confused. Also I really liked your therpist-take on it. I love it! Keep it up!
@@micah4973 Well I'm not blaming or shaming anyone but some of the interpretations people come up with confuse me. That being said, I am aware that music is an art form and like all art it is subject to the interpretation of the person experiencing it, but there can in fact be wrong answers depending on the message intended.
Wow, when i was a teenager i'd set this song on repeat on my discman when i couldnt sleep. Havent heard this song for almost 20 years or so, i forgot about it. So weird how music brings back everything from that period of time now ive just heard is again. I hope I can sleep tonight because i havent got a discman anymore;)
You should do the band Gojira Check out the songs: The Art of Dying, Esoteric Surgery, Oroborus, Global Warming, from Mars to Sirius And if you want to delve into some underground hip hop check out the artist Eyedea Songs: Here for You, Even Shadows Have Shadows Birth of a Fish Powdered Water part 1&2 Message in a Bottle (you will cry at this song, it's very very very sad)
Yes!!! Anything by Gojira would be amazing! Their newer stuff is great too, anything off of Magma and Fortitude is really emotional and feels almost spiritual
SOAD knows how to make you think with their lyrics and my favourite one where people get the meaning wrong is *BYOB* Great reaction and thank you for replying back to the comment on NF *Nate* song 🖤🤘
I absolutely love this song it still gives me chills all over the memories of this song it’s absolutely one of my favourite songs from system of a down 💯
Hi! I recently discovered this channel and i love those reactions! Im curious, would be there possible reactions to instrumental tracks? If so i reccomend this band If These Trees Could Talk, my favourite album is "Above the Earth, Below the Sky" There are pieces that definitely wake up some feelings in me and even help me write stuff im working on from time to time
Parabéns pelo conteúdo maravilhoso, obrigado! A música é o meu melhor medicamento para ansiedade! Congratulations on the wonderful content, thank you! Music is my best medicine for anxiety! ❤🇧🇷❤
I stumbled upon your channel by accident and i love the purpose behind it. Please check out the band Periphery. I recommend Lune, It’s Only Smiles, or Dying Star.
Some dude in high school somehow had a demo of this epic debut a year before it came out. Been a fan since 1997. Seen them tour the album at Ozzfest 1999. Most people like Toxicity more it might be better overall but this is so raw. The longest song called 'Mind' is 6:16. It is probably my favorite System Of A Down song. I bet it's never been reacted to.
The V chip was something from the 90's if I remember correctly that censored TV, analog TV, in real time. It was supposed to take out bad language and keep TV PG for kids. It never happened to my knowledge. I was in my youth so I never saw it but I remember it being a big deal that never seemed to happen.
I watched all your System of a Down reactions! Your channel is amazing! I would like to suggest "Radiohead - Creep (Best live performance)". This performance of Tom Yorke is amazing, and the video could be great content for your channel.
It often helps to react to either the album version or the live version of a song as very rarely does the music video have very little to do with the song itself as it's often the artistic view of the director. More good SOAD songs: Deer Dance, Needles, I-E-A-I-A-I-O, Mezmerise
For some reason this peace of art reminded me of another song.. Gojira - Love.. After this I am going to watch that masterpiece couple of times... Maybe Taylor you should too also check that...
recomendation for a reaction to.. Highly Suspect "Lydia". its a great song, singers vocals are amazing and the video is very anxiety inducing something that it think would be interesting for a psychiatrist to react to.
This is just a guess, but I think this song is about TV or the internet and data. Using "her" to reference that technology. He mentions a V chip, which is what's used to monitor what people are tuning into on TV.
Yes, this song is about tech companies working with government agencies to manipulate what content people are exposed to. June is a girl that doesn't have thoughts or feelings of her own because she has been given a set of those things already. Almost like Rachel in Blade Runner... Walking around with someone else's brain in her head
@heartsupport, so a song i feel you need to check out is Aftermath by The Ghost Inside. I struggled for years after my father passed away and after hearing that song it really did help me accept how to move on with my life.
Imo, the video itself makes it clear this song is about waking up from conditioning. You could argue that the old woman is symbolic for generational conditioning.
Sharks and Danger by Alexisonfire No video, but i highly recommend checking out the song meaning first and pulling up the lyrics while listening. This song is right up your alley to talk about, and to give shit to those who act like theyre there to help, but in reality dont care at all...
I suggest you do an analysis of: Audioslave, Alice in Chains, Helmet (Hey man, nice shot) and if you want to dive into a bit of South American culture: Sepultura (Roots). Have a very nice day.
Maybe it could be interesting to react to "Falling in Reverse - Popular Monster" (152M views in UA-cam). Ronnie Radke, the singer is not perfect, like everyone. We all makes mistakes. He was in jail cause false charges of murder (or maybe not) cause a lost bullet in shooting that takes place in a club many yeaars ago. I think this song is very personal but relatable to everyone in some senses. And also is their first true viral song. Pd: I also recomend your another songs from Falling in Reverse like: Voices in my Head, Watch the World Burn, Zombified, Ronald.
I just enjoy pointing out that they also have a song about pizza toppings.
Which is a criticism on the advertising industry, but yes. XD I love how they can be silly and deep at the same time.
Pizza pizza pie!
Chic n Stu !!!!
Pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives! 🍕
Pogo
Soil is the perfect system of a down song that a therapist could react to
I’ve commented this before and second this notion once again. SOIL would be incredible to see here
Serj is a great musician and humanist, peace for the people of Armenia.
The shot of the lady rising out of the water is so cool.
I adore the last part of her (the slow-mo rising head tilts one) 😳
If you haven’t reacted to Forest or Prison Song, please give them a go. SOAD are brilliant.
I’m 60 and love SOAD. They are on my bucket list to see. Great reaction!

The V chip was a feature on late 90s TVs that would black out violent scenes
Wow

This was my first System of a Down song, and it got me hooked on the band. ❤️

Lyrics can be much like poetry in that they lead one to question. "There is no spoon. [...] it is not the spoon that bends; it is only yourself."
Matrix reference? Nice.
Finding this comment just when i thought about it. Nothing else to say.
I'm glad you finally heard it!!❤
Serg has such an incredible voice and theatrics oh! Wow! Glad you checked this out
Absolute love your reaction! Masterpiece 💯
This outfit is almost on par with the beauty of the song, the nails matching the fit, the chains matching the hair

Great reaction and thank you for replying back to the comment on NF *Nate* song 🖤🤘
Plus you hit the nail right on the head, this was 1998 I think, and it was when V-chips were out into TVs

My favorite SOAD song.
What an absolutely brilliant analysis... The video gives me so many different feelings ... Crescent City, haha, yep, I got that.
Wow a reactor with truly insightful commentary? I didn't know that was a thing.
I never took this song / video too literally before but now that I think about it - it does have some serious MKUltra vibes.
What we love define us, but also what we fear... Do we need to fear? I don't know, but don't forget to love
I really enjoy your insight.

You're more into heavy stuff but i suggest you cover Cage the Elephant "shake me down", the message is pretty clear there, but it is powerful
0:08. There is little reason to hate spiders! The only reason I can understand is their appearance. They do far more good for humans than harm!🌿🌸

Hi, new sub. Looks like you’re doing heavier stuff. Here’s a weird kind of raw song to check out, she’s a real battleaxe by vanna.
