SOAD often gets blocked, so there is a slight overlay since the YT system was not in my favor 😅 which other SOAD songs would y'all like to hear? 💗
Awesome to catch a reaction to SOAD from you on my bday!! Rock on woman!!🤙🤘
Radio/Video
"Question" is great song with a great video but also portrays the Awesome range of vocals in the process.
If you have a preference for doing music videos first, SOAD songs you haven't mentioned hearing before with music videos are: Sugar, War?, Boom!, Question!, Hypnotize, Lonely Day and the 2 they dropped in 2020 (the only 2 they've released post 2005), Genocidal Humanoidz and Protect the Land. If you don't care about a video, Mind and Holy Moutains are my top 2 😉 (Mind is probably their heaviest song and it's fuckin awesome!!!!)
Forest & Science
Serj Tankian is one of the best metal vocalists ever born, his baritone and tenor voice with its mix of Lebanese and Armenian influences give him a unique exquisiteness in the way he sings.
its cool i hear the eastern european and middle eastern influence in their music and its just still so unique they never fail to provide a real experience in every song
@@jeefsquaa Sublime and majestic!
I'm a stoner
@@red_door cool
He reminds me of Eddie Veder from Pearl Jam
They both have a low strong tone and do strange things with vibrato
SOAD is one of those once in a generation bands where every single song from every single album is a classic! You could put on any one of their albums and I'm sure most people could sing along with every song. It's hard to put into words how iconic they were in the late 90's and early 00's.
The Chris Brown of metal
He is, indeed, Armenian, as is the whole band. They infuse a lot of Eastern European folk music techniques/time signatures into their music which is one of the reasons they sound so unique.
Which is why I've always called it folk metal, though my metal head friends think I'm crazy lol
@@Gwenhwyfar7 well you are definitely correct, my guess is just that your friends don’t understand the term. Even some of the really heavy stuff off of Toxicity like X, Deer Dance, and Needles has really obvious folk influence if you understand music theory/history (especially Deer Dance).
@@Polyphemus89 They're just stuck up about metal I think. But I still remind them that SOAD's self titled won Metal album of the Year award for a damn reason ;)
I believe they are heavily influenced by Armenian folk music, the Beatles and classical music.
Middle Eastern, not really Eastern European
This song still gives me chills all these years later from when I bought the CD at target in the 90s
That bit that gets the most replays on this video... I was just on spotify repeating it. Been listening to this song since like 2000, and it's still knocks me out, so I searched for youtube reactions to it.
@@bidhrohi12 i love watching people appreciate Systems of a down
Roulette...the harmonies between serj and Daron are amazing
🎶 I... I know, how I feel when I'm around you 🎶
I dont know how I feel when I around youuuuuuu
Oh also its the only song by them to my knowledge that is completely acoustic
OMG..... you actually understood what the song was primarily about on your first try!!! I am absolutely amazed!
It’s because it wasn’t her first time. Like every (first time reaction channel) 😂😂😂
So much detail with the spider-top you wearing. :) perfection
Rick Rubin's Productions are all so full of raw emotion. I love how dry everything is (meaning no reverb). brings out the best and most detail performances
That eyebrow raise is killing me off 🤣🥵 I'm flowing with it just as you are with the song, soad are top tier with their skill of changing tempo without breaking a sweat
Their sound is so unique 🤘 it’s amazing how much they accomplished throughout the years. What a band 🔥
I love this song his voice was amazing great song.
Question is a great song.
Still till this day , this song gives me goosebumps!..
Serg Tankian - Empty Walls
Gonna need an Aileen reaction stat!
Love your take! "Question! " was a song I was most proud of when I learned to play it on the ol' 6 string. You should take a listen
Such an amazing song, everyone always talks about songs like Chop Suey which is great, but this song is so overlooked, great job!
That shift @ 4:30 where the guitar plays the main melody but it's grungier and fuller never ceases to give me chills no matter how many times I've heard this song
Lonely day would be an amazing song to give Daron's vocals a breakdown!
This is my favorite SOAD song of all time. This was the song that got me into SOAD.
im in love on your reactions... wooow your can express in your face more than you can say in words
SOAD! ROCK IN RIO! BRASIL! 🇧🇷❤️💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is my favorite song from them! I feel it's very underrated! When I heard it first time when I was in high school I was very impressed and fascinated by their originality! No one was like them back in those days!
OMG I totally forgot that song, thanks for our reaction! I´ve played in a cover band when the song came out and we also played it a lot. Today, 20 years later with your reaction, I heard it again the first time and had flashbacks, goose bumps and tears. That was amazing, thx! btw: time goes by too fast, we´ve to sing more, now!
I love your t-shirt with the spider web, it goes with the song. There are some songs that speak to your soul, one of them is this one
Caught these guys when they were opening for clutch around 96 or so one of the best club shows I've ever attended. And I mean I've seen some miraculous shows.. Megadeth on peace sells, King Diamond on the Abigail tour... Exodus on fabulous disaster.. just amazing stuff but System owned that night. And that is saying something cuz Clutch is a force to be reckoned with live
This song grew on me such a deep and powerful song, love your reactions from australia 🇦🇺
Lovely song! POWERFUL ending. Enjoy your Halloween! 🎃👻
There is reason this was on my final 5 playlist before I would pitch, that slow build at the end is pure hype and adrenaline
Seen them live twice. Best concert I've ever been to without question. U need to watch their live stuff
Why do I love you whilst you enjoy the music? I reckon it is because you are so musically knowledgeable...and the way you break it down.
So I see those lovely horns, holding up your beautiful halo ! Lol !!!! Keep rocking it lady friend !!!!
I love this song soo much. Their best one ever, it is soo under rated. The guitar right after HEAD gets me every time, and at the very end. The lyircs are pure poetry. For me I love the songs with strong emotions, and this has it. 100% masterpiece!!!
BYOB is SOAD’s dystopian pop anthem and you would love it!
Another song from SOAD that is definitely a good pick is either 'Sugar' or 'Violent P' both are really good in-terms of both words ( mainly in Sugar's favour as Violent P is a bit more lewd in a sense ) and beats!
Ddevil started playing immediately for me at the end of this in my head and i listened to it all the way.
Hi Aileen 😊 Always know it is more important for you to see the video than for us 😊👍 Thank you for providing the link to the video so we are able to see what you are reacting to. Have a great day you and Arya with much love 😊👍💪❤️✌️🤘👑👑
"Jesus" - that's it! Incredible voice. Love your reaction. 😀
system of a down -hypnotize ..such a great song and shows off his voice
SOAD is one of my top favorite bands. I love every single song they have ever released-every single song ever! I recommend to do a deep dive into the band’s history and beliefs and what they promote. Thanks for this reaction!
Bassist Shavo Odadjian is the music videos director of SOAD
Really love Shavo and John as their rhythm section, solid and creative
SOAD is definitely an inspritational band and the words are almost a therapy session to the ear of how beautiful and harmonic every melody, instruments, tools, are being used in every song.
Truly an amazing band :)
I could tell she enjoyed the singing just by the look on her face...'Jesus' also kind of gave it away ;-)
Thanks for this! I don’t know if this was brought on from my comment on your last vid on them but well done
So sad that that you have to reload all the videos again but happy to see new comments. One of my first songs I heard by SOAD was Metro. Truly a good song. Also, they did a really short song based on the theme of Zelda. Thought you might get a kick listening to it. Keep up the great work! Love from Australia!
I recently found out that is by Rabbit Joint but he sounds like just like Serj though.
Every song between the singles rips so fucking hard. KNOW is a all time banger. Suite Pee also insane.
Just started watching your reaction videos yesterday. I'm glad I did! Love your videos! Keep being awesome!
As soon as i heard this 99 i knew i had to have the album and that they were something special.
Youre the best so inspiring to watch all your reactions . ♥️
Love that your wearing a web design on this reaction! I haven't researched it either & I am thinking of the lyrics ;; maybe the web is the internet? & the Spider is Algorithms?? Thats probably too crazy; but maybe!
Gotta react to their music video for their song "Question!" next. 😊
Silverchair's Tomorrow would be a cool reaction video that i don't see many reacting to. I know it's getting difficult to find good songs to react to that a majority of creators haven't done already.
Great song and would love a reaction to a number of songs from that album
Agreed
one of my favorite system of a down songs, i'm glad you reacted to it ❤
Favourite SoaD song right here, thank you for checking it out 💜
Masterpiece ❤️❤️
dang you were ridin the fire on this one, you are speed.
Lyrics are rather abstract in this one (like the video - and what a video it is!) but it's one of my top two contenders of the best System Of a Down song, the other being Toxicity. Serj's eastern glottal vocal technique (which is also hailed in Turkish folk and classical music) is quite dominant in Spiders that gives out a unique vibe 🤘
Thanks again for sharing this heartfelt reaction Aileen Senpai 😇😊
Spent my Halloween night working, thank you for making it enjoyable lol keep doing you, cause you're great. Take care 👍
Not directly SOAD, but "Empty Walls" is an awesome solo project by Serj Tankian (SOAD singer)
Awesome track!
Great reaction to one of my favorite, and most unique bands ever! You really should keep digging down the SOAD rabbit hole. You will not be disappointed, I promise! FOREST is a must! It's probably one of the most underrated songs from them. I really hope you react to that one, but honestly, you just can't go wrong.
As for the meaning to this song, you pretty much nailed. There are a lot of theories surrounding it, but from my understanding, it's about how we are constantly being monitored and controlled, hence the line "the v-chip gives them sight". Also, spiders are also known as web-crawlers (aka search bots) on the internet, or world wide WEB. Just food for thought. Keep the SOAD coming please!!
Serg Tankian with the Auckland Orchestra is well worth listening to, I was lucky enough to be there to feel the absolute vibe that it was
This is one of my favorite songs from system of a down ❤️. My other two I listen to are Questions! And Deer Dance
Serj is my favorite vocalist lol he’s got such a unique voice
Happy Halloween!! 🤖🤖
Thanks for sharing another epic reaction!!
IN THIS MOMENT - The Promise u will so enjoy that song
beautiful song!
Oh you haven't heard chop suey? Its their most famous song for a reason (over 1 billion views). One of Serj's best vocal performances.
New subscriber, soad! reason.(,greatest blessings for your channel! thanks.for your reaction, you visually fit well with the song!
Love his voice and the whole band is awesome
Love System! They did a cover of an 89’s pop song called Metro. I HIGHLY recommend it.
if you want to hear how crazy Serj's vocals can be, I recommend checking out their song Suggestions, probably my favorite from their first album. It's a banger.
Mr Jack often gets overlooked
I recommend “chop suey”, I was hooked after I heard it.
Sizzling Steak 😂 that’s what she said, wow that made my day!
Metro is a SOAD cover that no one ever talks about, and it's pretty sick imo.
You should do Lost in Hollywood by SOAD. The main vocals on that one are by Daron but Serj's harmonies bring it together amazingly!
My favorite song ever from system of a down 👍👍👍
Uuww I waited for this song 😍
Serj Tankian also has some great solo work that is worth listening to as well
SOAD is a seriously political band. 'Steal this album' was a staple at protests during the Bush years. The video for 'Boom' was filmed during the Iraq war protests in NYC. SOAD was there. :)
I supposed you've already been told this but you really should check Hellsinger, it's a game that came out this september and Serj worked with the devs ; )
Hello ^-^ I loved how you describe Serj's voice.
If you want some other vocalists with that distinctive flare to them, you should definitely check out some of Arcturus's music.
Their current singer goes by ICS Vortex and he's got the voice of a literal angel.
A good song to start with would definitely be "Shipwrecked Frontier Pioneer"
Listening to this album back in 98 i never would have guessed that a few years later they would be one of the biggest bands of the 2000s. Just not the sound you would expect to have such mainstream success. They really helped usher in the *new* (no, not nu. They are not nu metal) metal of the time.
SOAD is awesome!
But don't forget Serj on his own is also awesome, you should check out his solo stuff too, like Rumi, Harikiri, Empty Walls, Sky is Over, Lie lie lie, and Money.
Hell yea. I saw them in concert at the 1st Summer Sanatorium tour at KY Speedway. It was Metallica, Korn, Kid Rock, Powerman 5000 and System. The lead singer James Hettfield of Metallica couldn't make it due to a jet ski accident. Bc of that we got to see the rest of Metallica perform with members from the other bands as well as free tickets to a Metallica concert in a few months in the same area.
Also, it's my birthday on this wonderful Halloween!!!!
Do "Sugar". It's a great quirky song
My personal favorite SOAD song and super under appreciated imo is Soil. Would love to see you react to it!
Check out “Empty Walls” by Serj and “Straight Out the Gate” by Tech N9ne with Serj Tankian. (In addition to every other System of a Down song)
SOAD - HOLY MOUNTAINS 👌🏼
One of the earliest and craziest SOAD songs that I'd like you to analyze is "Sugar".
"Toxicity" please? My absolute favorite song.
HYPNOTIZE!!!!!!!!
I love them!
Her eyebrows move more than asmongold
QUESTION & HOLY MOUNTAINS
You will fall more in love with Serj and with SOAD after listening to those two songs
You know what's odd? I'm pretty sure The Charismatic Voice just did this reaction too 🤔🤔🤔
Coooool coooool reaction 🤟🤟🤟👌👍❤️
you improved a lot
Huge fan of System when I was a kid. I didn't know honestly how incredible they really were til 20 years later nothing better has been done haha. At least not in the genre.
