Make me miss my best friend David we were always in a junk yard or in one of my dads trucks doing exactly this stuff. I been in a wheelchair 9 years now and don’t see or do anything anymore thanks for the video
You Guys are so fun to watch. You work well together and have fun doing it. I like your jokes which make it more amuseing. Keep on doing what your doing.
Another great video Hank & Wiley, great to hear that old mack running again, Merry Christmas and happy new year to you both and your familys God bless.
Man Mack has sure made an assortment of some of the coolest trucks on the planet! I mean so many different combinations, you could literally walk into a Mack dealership and set down with a representative and custom build your truck to your spec's from the ground up. I couldn't tell the winch manufacturer but it was easy between 60 and 100 ton and I forgot to look at the hubs so I don't know if it had planetary rears or not but I would say that they were at least 65k possibly up to 90 or 100k. To build a truck today with similar specs would cost you $200,000 + and it would never be as cool as that old Mack! Love the channel guys keep up the good work!
That’s a DM-800, they’re actually pretty common in coal country I know where 3 are at right now within 25 miles of me lol. The 350/400 Cummins swap was common because the Mack 865 and 866 V8’s of the day were pretty well junk, they had a lot of crank and other bottom end issues and eventually they got to be impossible to find parts for.
Haul many ton coal with then. Had old qualaplex 18 speed twin shifters. Tough Tks. For ever changing springs we had way too many driver manics, that was non-mechanics. Glad see that job site in my rear view mirror for last time.
Hey, been watching you guys in the States for a while. Now I live in the Philippines and I'm still watching!! I gotta have my daily dose of Hank and Wiley. Love your show! 😊
Great job, another success. The engine actually sounded strong once you got it running. Would have loved to see the old girl move once again under her own power. You guys are the best!
What we have here is an LA Mack. If you bought a Mack made in Pennsylvania, it would be all Mack from front to rear. The LA Mack was a kit truck you could buy with your choice of powertrains. This one probably came with a 555 Cummins V8 and 13 speed Roadranger transmission. The Triple Nickle wasn't a very reliable engine, hence the 6 cylinder presently installed. Cummins injector pumps have a manual fuel valve right above the solenoid. A small knurled knob, just screw it in. It was put on to allow the engine to run if your batteries were dead. To kill the engine just screw it back out. FINALLY! You show the ID tag. FRUEHAUF assembled the kit!
@@MrEferrell BOY OH BOY DOES THE "KA - KA " EVER RUN DEEP WITH YOU CRACKERS !!! YOU EVER HEARD OF A MACK THERMODYNE V8 864 / 865 / 866 ??? DIDN'T THINK SO !!!! TRIPLE NICKEL IN A DM800 , YEAH OKAY THERE " BILLY - BOB- JOE -JIM - JACK -JOE " , ANOTHER " MOONSHINE SIPPER " !!!! LOL, LOL, LOL !!!
My buddies KW broke down and had to have trans work.He had two loads he needed to take and he drove his 61 mack clear across the country pulling a load . The looks he got from that old girl it's beautiful..He said he's hooked up to Big sleeper KWs with trailers attached pulling them out of slippery docks. Those old macks are beasts
the fart noise as he picked up that battery.....priceless.....fell out of my chair laughing. love watching you guys work together, keep em coming guys, and stay young.
Love watching you guys get to see all kinds of cool equipment and see them run! Of course you can't get no better than Hank and Wiley! Merry Christmas and happy new year to the both of you!
Awesome morning fellas great to see yall doing what yall enjoy doing !!! That Ole dog came back to life !!! Hope yall have an awesome day !!! Great video as always yall
I learned to drive in a 69 Mack cabover it had a maxidyne 289 and a 5 speed 55 downhill with a tailwind but she ran for years pulling doubles from Sacramento to L. A. 3 times a week. Till my uncle fell asleep and totaled it in Tulare California in 1978. Love the channel and the video ❤🙌✌️🤗🎄👍☝️🤔👌🙏🥰
You're really are the best couple to get thinks going again thank you so much for all the great videos have a wonderful holiday time can't wait for the next video 😊
The plumber's bungy cord on the passenger door reminded me of an old G60 Nissan truck I had when I was opal mining. The door lock on the driver's side packed up and I couldn't get any parts, so I welded a pad bolt on the inside and just shot it home to keep the door shut while I was driving!
WELL - WELL - WELL - with a combination of 4 batteries, a jump, a siphon, ether, a hotwire, and two chuckleheads in the weeds - the old dead horse came back to life! Congrats! Happy Holidays you TWO - If you can't be good, then be Great!
Your exactly right on that for sure .... When you said who would have ever thought of that...... I thought you'd enjoy it and by the way love you guys' content great..... Funny and relaxing thank you Tomas
Good morning 😃 Hank and Wiley I think 🤔 the both of you will be able to get it to run 🏃 I want to wish the both of you a merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and a happy 😃 new year
Maybe it had a cargo box on back when it was new. That might account for the other name plate. Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year to all the Hamiltonville Farm Family ! TCB⚡️
That thing is built like a truck!! Oh wait.... Love you guys, I could hang out with you two nuts even though I'm a Yankee. I pray that God gives you both many more years down here, and happy ones at that, God bless!
Wiley with all due respect and recognition for your remarkable knowledge regarding most things to do with heavy equipment. I hope you don't mind me saying I suspect you confused the term "torsion bar" with 'torque-rod' which is understandable given the similarity between the two terms. For anybody who may not know about such things whereas I have no doubt Wiley certainly does know. A torsion bar acts in place of a conventional spring by twisting a rod and maintaining the tension on it with the weight of a vehicle. A torsion bar type spring was used on some cab-over Macks to counteract the weight of the cab making it much easier to tilt it. But a camel back uses leaf springs which can be clearly seen on the rear end of that old Mack, the torque-rod helps counteract a twisting load or torque that occurs under the sort of strain caused by towing a heavy weight.
Back in the 80s I drove for a small company with all Macks and they were all rolloffs and they had a mid 70s steel nose with the walking beam suspension with elephant pads no springs and that thing would beat your brains out. That Mack you did really brought back some good memories thank-you for that.
im really loving your new style of formatting these videos..so cool....still rocking them Georgia boots i see..best boots i have ever worn, i made a comment about them a while back when they started sponsoring yall.
Dudes, Wiley just came up with a great idea for a startup (excuse the pun…). Modern battery technology (maybe even lithium ion phosphate) in old-school battery cases. Better efficiency and life expectancy- or big gain in CCA - but lighter mass and able to be fitted into all manner of trucks, gennies and heavy equipment without modifications. Man, the business case writes itself. Wiley, you’re a genius 😁😎🤟🏼
Old school Diesel mechanical stuff, Mack's are a different world then Peterbuilts or Freighliners, can't tell you how many of those Cummins I rebuilt, big cams...
Hank/Wiley ,crestology and the cobbler pack always get them ol trucks fired up and that thing was really making oil Hank ,i remember seeing one of them old trucks back in the 80's moving an old building that wasn't that big ,all the same it was cool to see it and that truck was just idling along with the building tow 👍

Yes those old Mack V8 engines had a lot of problems crankshaft was one injector pump problems best V8 they made was the E9 500 it was a beast
@@eddieweigel9490 yes indeed that e9 was a fantastic engine it was good as the old 300 Maxydine as far as reliability
