Those were 8n tractors. The 9n was started in 1939. There were 2n’s that started in 1942. The 8n started in 1948 and went through 1952. 9n and 2n were 3speed transmissions with brake petals on both sides. 8n had a four speed transmission with brake petals on the right side.
The green unit you were wondering about ( one with the nozzles is a orchard sprayer. Makes spraying fruit trees so easy. Id love to have one!
The round thing with week on it at 28:28 is the top to a molasses tank. They were used for cows. The cow would lick the wheels and it would bring up more molasses.
The sprayer is used for fruit rows such as grape vines, orange trees, apple trees and so on, absolutely a great video keep safe and keep the, coming.
Thanks for another interesting video. I think that machine you thought was what's left of a baler, is actually a swath inverter. It picks up the hay row after it's cut, flips it over so the bottoms on the top then puts it back in the row on the ground again to help the sun dry the hay moisture down before baling . Take care guys
Hank, glad everyone is ok. Had a great time meeting and talking with you at the TYM event here in Maine. If you ever get up here again let me know. Still considering selling my JD and getting a TYM
Yes sir!
You can also tell between an 8n and 9n Ford tractors by the positioning of the brake pedal. The 9n has the two brake pedals on opposite sides, so you have a brake pedal close to your right foot and another close to your left foot. On the other hand, the 8n has both brake pedals on the right side.
👍
Front wheels are a dead give away. 9 and 2ns have a VW bug pattern, 8n is standard 6 lug. Rears are different too.
My Dad use to do the books for a construction company and that Mac dump truck was something we use to drive around in during the late 70's and into the early 80's. Good memories
Very fun tour of the junkyard! We saw some awesome trucks and other machines! Glad that snake didn't bite you guys!
A confined area to keep your fuel and batteries from moving around would be helpful .
That old propane tractor is a 50s Case 800, it says Case-o-matic on the side. I paused the video and had to Google it.
Right on
And those headlights, them be Case headlights!
I knew it was a case find just the hood the way the headlights were mounted similar to the 530.
Wide or narrow can be for row crop. The wide front ends can be adjusted to fit your planter. The Tricycle front end (narrow) can turn on a dime at the end of the row. They’re great on flat ground, but a real danger on slopes. I believe the big green fan is an orchard sprayer.
Hope you guys keep getting yhe old stuff up and running. Love your show.
I was wait to see 3 ole North Florida guys draw the CWPs and put some smoke on that rattler!
That spray cart would have been used in orchards. We have them here in Australia. Cheers mate 👍
That gizmo after the box truck I think is an agriculture sprayer like they use in an orange grove to spray the trees maybe?🤫
Hank, the large tank with big fan is an orchard sprayer. Took a lot of power to turn that fan.
Yeah. Deboss Garage tried to turn one into a flamethrower. Haha. Great video
Hank the large tank with big fan is orchard
It would seem that the company on that truck door is still in business. LeBlanc and Theriot Equipment Company in Metairie, which is near New Orleans. And yes Wiley, Louisianians do watch this channel. I'm from Louisiana, about 60 miles from Metairie. :)
Right out of the gate that has to be a pulp wood truck...grew up seeing them here in north florida run by small operators putting food on the table.;)
Thats right
It is a FMC grove sprayer, also Case tractor with propane was probably converted by Pounds motor Company in Winter Garden Fl. Old man Pound put first ember tire on a tractor.
I hope some of those farm tractors get restored. Pretty neat.
We got a 52 8n ford we plow with and also mow…THE most reliable ,best starting piece of equipment ever! It’s almost indestructible….
GOD BLESS YOU HANK, is that Tim GENTRY'S camper in the background 😂😂😂
58 ford..a dine a doxen in the south and midwest 8n ford..i sold one 5 years ago
i used to drive an old twin stick mack like that.
good times
good trucks!
Hank it's a pupwood loader called paperwood made out of pine trees, they would cut 6 foot long and use a cable on that too load truck with.
At 41:54 that is a orchard sprayer it blows insecticide all up in the leaves they work great
Thanks guys. Central California watching
Don’t know whether someone wrote earlier, but that big fan with the spray nozzles is a fogger for an orchard. Fogs the trees with insecticide.
I just cleaned up a place like that about 6 months ago and God bless yall
I didnt mention about my farm. It is one of the early pioneer farms here. Originally started @ 1840s. The farm went into probate after the elders died. We were allowed to take anything before it was sold off. I got a stone gristmill and a blacksmith forge, things like that. A lot of horse drawn instruments.
The F 750 is a 63-64 and has a pulpwood rack on it. The engine is a gas powered 361.
The green tank with the pto and spray tips is used in orchards to spray with hank
That thing after the GMC box truck is a sprayer they used in apple orchards.
A farmall 350D with a 192, those are hard to find parts for. That looks like a great place to find diamonds in the rough.
Enjoyed the tour Hank and Wiley. Good seeing Mr. Sonny again. I would have been finished looking after coming across that rattlesnake. Lol.
I hear ya.
Rattlesnake was asleep, and posed no harm.
That’s an orchard sprayer used for forpea cons peach trees, orange groves
Yup that’s a old Pecan tree sprayer a the way a rim off of a M151 mutt military keep mostly used in Vietnam
Good to see You Fella’s, hope to God no One got Bit
@@philveburst1069 i imagine someone did ,just not on this Video Richard Skully!
No it’s not safe. I love it. If you want safe. Just stay home. I love the excitement. Roll the dice. It’s calculated you will be alright 😊
That’s a jet blast sprayer for spraying orchards
Thanks for the tour! Glad ol Wiley was saved by ya from that rattler!! The first Ford extended cab, the 88! They call that that the Brick Nose series. 87-91. Guessin that had the 460 big block in it! Thanks for all the awesome content!
I'm glad y'all didn't get bit God bless
It's a air blast sprayer, used in orchards.
That Ford truck hauled 6 foot long logs and was cable loaded. That’s how some hauled them back in the 70s and 80s. Great videos
The box above the cab on the old ford is where they stored the old Poulan bow chain saws, chains and binders
That old 1976 custom deluxe 3500 Chevy that has the tree growing up trough it used to belong to my dad. In spring 1985 my dad was driving that old truck doing hotshot work cross country with a new 48’ gooseneck trailer. He had hauled a load from Los Angeles CA and he was backing into that company on the door and dad smacked the dock, and tore the rear end out of it. Dad couldn’t afford to have it towed let alone fix it, so dad sold them that truck, even though that company had all fords. The trailer he didn’t sell, my dad had his brother come down and get him and the trailer. I know for sure that is it, because the owner of that company was a die hard ford man.
We don't have places like this in VA. Would love to walk one with you b two.
I'm surprised he couldn't read that you can tell by the headlights and the grill that is a case for sure
The Old Ford Log Truck is a 1957 Model. 57 was the only year of single headlights back then for this series of Ford Trucks (1957-1960) all the rest (1958-1960) had 4 Headlights.
The red plastic thing with the wheels is a liquid feeder for cattle. It goes over tub and the cattle lick the wheels which pulls the liquid feed up to them.
Just a thought, but the dip in your bed where your gooseneck hitch is could be used to your advantage. Run a strap across the back and use the dip like a truck bed
i enjoyed just seeing the old equipment I like seeing old equipment like that
Number 1 song of 1981 was Keep On Loving You Reo speedwagon. Thought you you like that because of the old Reo trucks.
Hey Hank! Love your content and watch when I can as well as Dontbewily. Probably already know the trick to give your straps a twist so they don’t vibe and wear out quickly but I’m sharing just in case. Old canoe hauler trick because those vibes get to you on a road-trip.
That’s a rattlesnake. Seen a sprayer like that on another channel. What a place to grow up in parting out and fixing some.
Big job ford's were late 40's to early 50's. The 534ci gas motor was the biggest.
That's a sprayer for spraying trees in an orchard
That is a pulpwood truck. The wood was cut into 8 foot lengths and stacked across the frame. The little boom on top was was to load the “sticks”. Then the winch cable was thrown over the top to secure it down.
My grandpa had a pulpwood truck like that in the early 80’s. Lol.
I don’t really know what I’m doing either. My job in the Air Force was designing and installing electronics on bases: ILS, Weather, Comm, etc. i was down at Columbus AFB at their satellite base where they land baby pilots when I saw my first poisonous snake. I’m happy here in Maine where we don’t have anything like that though one time, we were in NC and one made its way into our shipping crate and crawled out when we got home. I don’t know why todays trucks are so high because you can’t reach over the rails to get stuff out. Casomatic Drive. Good old stuff. My brother-in law has a truck like that still. Great video
That's a sprayer for spraying Peach trees
I don't know about the pedals but I know the 9N tractor has a distributor in front of the radiator I believe the 8N tractor into an tractor has the distributor on the side of the block😊
8n has tight bolt pattern on rear wheels 4spd trans could have dist on fit of blk as well on fit left side depends on dom
That red, 3 wheeled mower is actually an old golf course reel mower. We use the same design, just a little more modern today
That big round red thing with the 4 wheels on it is the the top to a syrup feeder for cattle
Finding that pickup with two cobras was foreshadowing what's to come!
Not a sprayer used to put in barn to put tobacco in case to force it to be in case
There's a snake under the tractor too you didn't see. Under the axles!!
That ol propane tractor looked like it has a 57 chevy hood with the headlight position...
I delivered many loads of parts to Blue Bird in Fort Valley, GA.
ilike to see all of the videos i hope that you all can start them all
I'd love to see you guys do several "will it starts" on the stuff out there. From the big trucks to the pickups and tractors, lots of content to be had out there. Just don't do a "will it bite" with the snakes.
Rattle snakes more dangerous than most folks think. Good chance of losing a body limb if bitten.
A rattler bite is a life-changing event, even for a young person. When people see a rattler and talk about copperheads I wanna hit'em right square in the mouth. My .410 makes mincemeat of them.
That is an old farmall A. I think it’s newer than 1946 because it has a distributor and not a magneto.
Cool yard!
The Mack is a duplex=2 sticks. And the ol quad boxes.
Another great video
April 23... Year is the first two of the VIN. It will be B7, because I can tell you it is a 1957. Big Job is predecessor to Super Duty.
I told our 2 sons, anytime you go to a junkyard, always go in the winter ! Not the place to mess around in the summer !
The first truck is a pulpwood hauler. If I remember correctly, the cuts were around 5’. Well heck, one of you are explaining that now as I write
Hey Hank! About that metal seat, better than WALKING behind a pair of mules. Just saying. Love snakes, NAW!! Great channel. Hi from Montgomery, Alabama!!
Im shocked you both don't run into more snake ms like that when you are going thru bushes like that. good thing you saw it before anyone got hurt.
I wish we had stuff like that here in New Zealand
I understand about looking around your feet all the time, I had 2 King Brown snake's in my shed toilet/rest room just 5 days ago, cought 1 about 5 or 6 foot the other one left 😂 ,I recon do some more will it runs there, thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
the truck is like 63 so the cab might have been produce 23rd of April of 62-63. the biggest engines Ford offered those years over 400 cubic inches were the 406 in 1962 and the 427 in 1963. Both were big-block "FE" engines and ran very well. Of
Hey Hank from Hamilton I like your will is start videos tell your wife I said hello
46:24 That's a Toro greens mower for a golf course. It has hydraulic motors on the reels and the drive. The only thing the engine powers is a hydraulic pump
9n had I think was two brake pedals on one side with the clutch and the 8n had the starter button by the shifter with one gear shift and the 9n had the the shifter with the small high/low shifter and also had a stop engine knob to pull to turn off the engine
Yes, ihe tricycle front ended farm tractor was made to go between the rows of corn for example,
A tricycle frontended tractor has the 2 front wheels very close together in the middle of the tractor. So the front wheels traveled between rows 2 and 3 while the right rear wheel traveled left side between 3 and 4 while thje right rear traveled between rows 1 and 2
the difference between a Forf 8n and a Ford 9n is a 9n and 2n both have 3 speed transmissions , but the 8n had a 4 speed transmission.
You guys crack me up, hey look a pressure washer! no that's a grease gun, good thing you had your buddy the snake charmer with you.
😂
Most vehicles on the tail light lens.the date of vehicle production is stamped.quit looking at door plates if in caught of the year
I don’t think I’m in the market for snakes Hanks but thanks 😊
Great snakes video thanks Wylie and Hank
that fan i think i have seen stuff like that used to spray orchards
57 Ford HD (Big Job). Original motor was some sort of Y-Block
That tractor is a case-o-matic that's what case called in before they went to case international they just built in the mid 50s and 60s hank because case was an industrial company before they got with that got bought out by International Harvester I'm pretty sure
Bette Davis Eyes by Kim Carnes was number one on the charts in 1981 while 9 to 5 by Ms. Dolly Parton came in at number 9 for 1981
hi from oz... we do get places like that down under..but now there getting few and far between......theres going to be a few will it start videos right there
Marcel Ledbetter’s put wood truck cool !! Does it have powersaw holsters on the side !
Top songs of 81, Kim Carnes “Betty Davis Eyes” or Lionel Richie & Diana Ross Endless Love and that rattler was a little fire cracker
The snake is at 23:40.
Hank, here in America, the poisonous snakes will have vertical slits for pupils.... Exception being the coral snake.. It has round pupils... Red and yella kill a fella.
To answer your question, ya we have stuff like that, but it's different 😂😝☺️. Great content guys thanks for sharing 😊.
Rome ga and fort valley pretty close
Captain kleeman needs that 555 manual
