I've had the DFGT for about 18 months and absolutely hammered it gameplay-wise , must be near 1000 hours and still feels as good the day i got it . About to get a G27 as i've got some spare cash to burn and it's about time i learned to use the clutch . Would recommend anybody to get a DFGT especially first time wheel user's it's the perfect way to transition from joypad to wheel only .

Yeah i bought mine not long after my initial comment & only being 9 stone i find that too . I'm going to buy a car seat from the scrapyard & attach it to the base of a dining chair or something in the next few weeks should negate that & be very comfy too which is the main thing :) .
The driving force gt has the best force feedback of all the wheels. I setted it on max and i almost broke my whirsts. I have used both dfgt and g27. The only problem about this is the noise.
Dead zone and alignment are two different things. Dead zone is how much the wheel moves before it is sensed not the wobble of the car when not holding the wheel, that's toe in settings.
Ive had my G27 for about 7 or 8 months now. Works like a charm. Very sturdy and overall great feeling wheel. Adds alot more realism and feeling to the game. Definitively worth the money.
I suppose. Most of the points are spot on, as i have had both. Only important thing that wasn't adressed was the ability to hard mount the G27, and lack of ability to hard mount the DFGT, which is why I had to convert from DFGT to G27, as the racing rig I got couldn't hold the DFGT, but glad now i've got the clutch!
u can program the G27 wheel buttons with the same features (RA)to make adjustments whilst driving. i programmed the red buttons on the left rear view, wipers, e-brake and on the right high/low beam flashing and horn.
The shifting part about the clutch really sucks with the G27. I have the G25 and if I want to shift and have a neutral or go to any gear I want all I have to do is use the clutch once and there it is, you CANNOT shift unless you use the clutch. If I want to go back to shifting without using the clutch all I do is shift one time with the paddle shifter and now I can shift without using the clutch but with no neutral. Thanks for the tip, I'll be keeping my G25.
go to settings-option-steering wheels controls (G27) and u can programme the wheel to your settings including the RA functions to adjust settings during races.
Nice video but a few extra points: - A major flaw of the Driving Force GT is the fact that you cant use the shifter on the left hand side- a major problem if you are used to/ prefer right hand drive cars - The G27 replaced the G25 which had a shifter that could be changed between sequential and H pattern, however it was decided that this compromised the shifter, and therefore the G27 only has H pattern (this sucks). Therefore, in many peoples opinion the G25 is better than both
Problem with the G27 is the lack of buttons, the DFGT & G29 are perfect PS3/4 wheels with all the buttons, the G27 just hasn't got enough pro's to outweigh that one single con. I'm either getting a GT or a 29 depends which I get to win bidding on.
This is a lot like comparing a Sport Coupe to a Corvette, they are in totally different classes. Having said that, if you're on a budget the DFGT is a very nice wheel for the money, but if you have the money to spend and want the clutch and the h-gate shift, by all means get the G27
I went to the Chicago Auto Show last Friday. They had a Gran Turismo Toyota FT1 simulation and they were using the driving force steering wheel. I swear that thing with how the car swerves actually happens. That shit was no joke. (I even lost the simulation because of it.
G27 is better for me. I got this about a year and a bit ago. I like that the g27 has 3 pedals, better built and you have a separate shifter, the lot. I got my g27 for about 270 euros (It was 300 normally, but there was a discount) and it's brilliant! Very nicely made. Worth every cent.
Ok just wanna point this out, as of now the Driving Force GT is the only wheel that is supported by the PS4, if you plan to upgrade you might want to consider getting this model. I have a feeling the G27 will work with it, I don't see why not but it just hasn't been confirmed yet. On a side note, I have the DFGT wheel and it's great and does feel like quality despite being made of plastic.
It does work with PS4 except there are a lot of people complaining about how the steering wheel slowly loses it's dead zone and shifts either to the right or left. Ultimately making it unplayable and Logitech isn't helping them lol I really want the G27 but for $250 and a 50% chance of it breaking is too much for my blood.
TsujiGameplays All driving games on the PS3/4 will work with the Driving force Gt and G27. So to answer your question, yes your driving force will work with drive club.
I chose the Driving Force GT because 1: It is the official steering wheel of Gran Turismo; and 2: I am able to play other racing games such as F1 on the PC.
I really don't know which wheel to choose. My problem is that I don't need any of the force feedback and material pros over the DFGT the G27 has, but I do really like the non-sequential shifter. That would be my ideal wheel. A DFGT with non-sequential shifting. If there is a way to get that with it still being cheaper than a G27 I would love to hear it.
Nor do I. It doesn't turn the ff on or off. I've tried it both ways and can't tell a difference. Some say that with it off they can feel their grip limit better but I can't attest to that.
I also have experience on both wheels and I really didn't like the Driving Force GT, it was pretty low quality and the force feedback was not that good and I ended up selling the wheel and getting the G27. I love it, it has really good force feedback and that is very important and also the ovibious advantage of having a clucth and H-pattern gearbox. I would even suggest you to get it right away, because it doesent lose much value if used just a few hours, I'd say max 30 euros/pounds/dollars.
+ker meme That's the point though. The problem is that the Driving Force GT moves far too slowly to react to the correction and therefore has a large hunting issue. The feedback motors can't keep up with the sensor and so it oscillates from side to side. The G27 has a more accurate sensor and faster reacting motor and so this hunting is far less apparent and a much smaller issue.
It amazes me how they market these wheels for Gran Turismo, the physics just isn't extensive or precise enough to warrant a £100 wheel in my experience.
Personally, I find the dfgt WHEEL to be a very nice wheel. Function is comparable to the g27 only noise is a bigger problem. The pedals are a much different story. But the dfgt=solid wheel and good band for buck in terms of racing with a wheel
i first had a G25 then bought a G27 but it also annoyed me that it had no sequential (i use it as a hydraulic handbrake) so i just connected my G25 shifter to my G27 and now i got the sequential again because sequential is actually only gear one and two with a centerspring
at least, i found a threat from a guy who has both logitech wheels and a thrustmaster t500 rs (+350€), he said the real diffrence comes with its belt drive..., i think hes right, i choose the dfgt and im ok with it, put a bit foam material in the brake pedal for a progressive feeling, thats it, i like the sequential shifter no need for clutch, and dont hear it with headphones, he said a g27 is not a good upgrade to a dfgt, when u compare the steering feel and the price
i got myself a g25 off ebay for £140 . the difference between the g25 and the g27 imo is noise . i think the g25 has a better shifter and less buttons to put me off racing :)

The driving force GT represents the ultimate budget wheel. If you're a mega sim racer, the G25/27 is obviously better for you. But if you're a causal sim racer (play Gran Turismo, F1, Dirt etc) then TRUST ME when I say the DFGT is amazing and transforms your experience, of course the G27 is better, but the difference isn't as big as you'd think. Apart from the gearbox and plastic pedals, they're very similar.
I have DFGT Wheel + Thrustmaster TH8A + pedals with clutch for my setup and the fact that it has more buttons is so much fun for euro truck simulator 2.

When GT4 was the newest Gran Turismo game, I bought the DFGT for 50€ (as new, it was on sale.). It still costs 100€ here in Finland as new :P. It still works, great driving wheel :3

I think it is better than using the controller, but the force feedback wiggles the wheels, the brake pedal stuck so I was always braking 10% (I just ended up buying a new set of pedals), and occasionally during a race my PS button will register as "pushed" therefore screwing me up during a potentially critical situation. I don't have the money for a new G27 but I will be on the lookout, since the build quality of the Driving Force GT is so low.
they fixed tht issue for the dfgt in the gt6 demo, they resolved tht issue so wen gt6 comes, they shouldnt hav tht problem, nd for ppl who say gt5 isnt a racing simulator ur wrong, sure rfactor is one, but its a pc game where the capabilities isnt limited compared to the consoles, plus most of rfactor is comprised of mods anyways til rfactor 2 is done, so gran turismo has always been a racing sim evr since the first one, it also set alot of benchmarks for the current ones now

As someone who is a casual racing gamer who wants to get serious, I think I'd choose the G27 where the cons are minor compared to the DFGT. Looks cheap, made of plastic, only sequential and looks less cool. (In my opinion)
I love that you can stall the car, so do you think it would make for good practice for driving a car with stick? I can drive stick but only my grandfather has a stick car, and i''ve really been wanting to practice heel toe without risking his transmission.
Im 15 and I use the dfgt. And I actually sim race I dont just play arcades like GT. I just can't afford the g27, its 300 dollars whereas I got the dfgt for 75

With the g27 can you ride the clutch like in a real car? (keeping your foot on the clutch while putting down high rpms and still go slow.) or is the clutch strictly on and off.

In the cons of the g27, you said it had no playstation functionality, it does, it just has no ps button and a different layout

Potentiometer with spring, you can buy a load cell for the brake though
and yes the DFGT pedals can break easily because mine did whilst doing the vettel challenge.
Gran Turismo 5, There are two versions prologue and the Normal/XL Edition. Relatively cheap now, seeing as GT6 is around the corner.

There is no dead zone with this two wheels. You were showing us that DFGT has more FFB. If you repeat the test without FFB both will drive straight.

the g25 is louder than the dfgt and has a bigger deadzone its ff is clunkier and you can feel the clicking in it it is also harder to turn
4:28 How can issue be solved?. I bought it with Gt6 for my son and this issue discouraged him to play racing games on ps console. Pls any suggestions.
Good sims I play are iRacing, rFactor, Richard Burns rally, and Grand prix legends. Those are the best racing sims ever imo.
Pretty sure I read somewhere it should be compatible. Was the same with the ps1 to ps2, ps2 to ps3.

I hated that problem with the brake. Had it twice and then thought "Screw it ill buy the G27". Do not regret it until today.
You must be unlucky, had mine for about 5 years now and still works fine but just ordered a g27 as it was on sale :)
I guess the Thrustmaster Ferrari GT Experience is pretty amazing for it's price though it doesn't have force feedback.

I can't afford G27 but I don't think I'm gonna pick Driving Force up cause it doesn't have a real gear changing pattern. That's unfortunate.

With the g27 can you ride the clutch like in a real car? (keeping your foot on the clutch while putting down high rpms and still go slow.) or is the clutch strictly on and off.

YOu can but only if you are going to use it on PC.
