I have my g27 for over 10 years already. One day it just stopped working, then i send out to a guy to repair, turned out it was just the power source. It's extremely reliable and durable. It's working today just like the first day i used it.
@@asphyxianado2112 I'd recommend to try it out first. It might be that some components got rusty over this period, and therefore it wouldn't work properly, depending on the conditions where it was stored.
i sold my G27 almost a year ago because its force feedback had decreased significantly (felt like the motor was weak) and the gears seemed to have more friction and noise than usual. while i didnt like the feeling of gears I do still miss not having a wheel at all. i shouldve had it checked out by a pro to see if it was mendable because its not every day you find a 900 degree ffb wheel with 3 pedals and a shifter for a great deal used. although in the end i sold it for around the same price i bought it due to the skyrocketed COVID pricing. how much did the repair cost you if you dont mind me asking?
Gloves are actually good even for simracing... depending on how and what you drive ofcourse but i was playing dirt rally the other day and whipping the wheel back and forth to stay on the road is quite harsh on your hands... if you noticed the g27, for example, has metallic paddle shifters that do hurt if the FFB turns the wheel hard and your fingers clip the paddles. AESCULAPTORmark3 It's half the price, comes with more stuff, is easier to handle because there aren't controller buttons everywhere, the pedals feel better, and the wheel itself doesn't look cheaply made like the console versions.
haloShAdOwSnIpE The pedals are much better on the g29, and the g29 also has less of a centre dead zone due to the hall effect sensor. What do you mean "console version" ? Both new wheels work on p,c, and console, same as the g27 does. I had a t300rs and that had tons of buttons. None of the buttons got in the way.
AESCULAPTORmark3 Pedals are worse on the G29, did you even watch the video? Especially on the brake. And by console version I mean the terrible incest baby formed when the console controllers fucked the G27 and a G29 came out.
AESCULAPTORmark3 Also the t300rs doesn't have buttons in a position that get in the way like the shitty G29. The G27 is like half the price, works with MUCH more games, and looks/feels better to use.
Slight correction for 9:16 -> ... The G27 didn't originally retail for around the same price as G29 does, the G27 was 300$ at launch while the G29 is 400$.
I just got the G29 as my first wheel with the shifter for my PS4 yesterday. I reckon I can drive better than you, and it's still in the box. I loved reading all the comments below more than the video. great work.
***** Did you readed me? Im not a fucking Sunky Fanboy...I just like this character...what's the problem? and...you try to hidde you life saying that my life is ''autistic''?...pathetic...
Love seeing all the g27 owners in the comment section being in denial about their wheel being outdated. Having tried both of them, the g29 is clearly better... Just because you can't afford one doesn't mean it's bad... Btw this guy should probably brake instead of bashing into the car infront...
I'v had the Logitech G27 for years, it's the best steering wheel you get a better feel for different cars. I love when your driving in manual mode and you loose second or third gear and you have to double shift for the rest of the race and you have 30 laps to go lol.
My g27 is a couple years old now, works as good as new. Which is to say it works great. The six buttons are also easy to use without moving your hands. If your using PC, the better bang for your buck is almost definitely still the g27. Having to buy your h pattern separately is bunk. Center dead spot never got in the way of being competitive in iracing, really never notice it unless I'm tying to.
The G27 is selling for $1000+ in complete/very good condition. That says a lot. Sony/Logitech should have released a G27 compatibility patch at some point. I have my G27 like new and I'm not buying another freaking wheel for a single console.
im using an old G25 on both the XB1 and PS4 using a 'DriveHub' converter. Works perfectly. Not all converters work as well, or indeed provide Force Feedback, but the DriveHub is awesome and provides full functionality with no noticiable delay at all. If i had the money i'd definately like to opt for a newer steering wheel, but the converter was a good compromise (and allows for all sorts of wheel/console configurations). If you do your research properly, and pick a quality converter (there are a couple out there) you will be set 😉
even when I have the G29 when I watch these videos I'm like "I wish I had a G29" then I realise that "oh wait I already have one" I feel the G29 is a great wheel pedal and Shifter set (I bought it as a bundle from the gamesmen in Australia) and damn it's a great racing wheel for PC PS4 and PS3 games though on PS3 it acts like the Logitech Driving Force GT, which would mean getting a TH8A is a great idea for use with the wheel (and the TH8A has 7 gears plus reverse and is compatible with any wheel due to the Use of the USB adapter that comes in the box)
What I want to know if it is possible to use the G29 wheel with a G25 shifter (because the G25 Shifter still has that turning knob on top to switch between traditional 6-speed shifter and rally-style sequential shifter) wich the G27 shifter and G29 shifter no longer have).
+Luis Ortiz So yes buy a G27. it's an excellent wheel and you'll have a lot of fun with it and from the video I see no major differences with the G29 other than its compatibility with the ps4.
If games will continue with support on g27 then there is no reason to go for g29 right ? Looks like.. Especially when noob get wheel first time in life.
Okay, here's the thing, today I literally DESTROYED my 2 weeks old G27 in the attempt of 'fixing" the loose center FBB it has by nature (if it makes sense). So now I have a dead wheel which I have lost the warranty for, and also the pedals and shifter... I was hoping this G920 wouldn't have the same kind of issue I found on the G27...
The G27 is really nothing even close to good, but it was by far the best value steering wheel given it had an H shifter and clutch for a very reasonable price. The G29 was merely to address to PS4 security requirements, doesn't include the shifter (additional costs) and is a horrifically overpriced wheel given it's merely a glorified G27 with a Driving Force GT button layout. Logitech like to believe they "innovated" something here, and put a lot of time and money into making a better product, but most G27 owners know that's not true. You'll probably only get one driver update at best before they give up completely. The only reason Logitech released these new wheels was because the G27 became useless overnight, and Logitech weren't able to make money doing nothing by keeping it on the shelves. Serious racers should heavily consider spending more, Thrustmaster and Fanatec offer very suitable products, and with the price comes much better consumer interest from both companies.
the logi's may be "shite" to you but they are "Die-hard"... i've come across so many comments/reviews about thrustmaster and fanatec wheels just dying on people.... that clubsport set-up costs way too much to just give up the ghost.. [v2 excluded] charging $400 +$60 just to play on the ps4 ha.... make an adapter assholes..... or Drop that price $130
Caliginous Moira Thrustmaster and Fanatec probably offer better warranties or service on their products. Logitech drop all software support within weeks of release.
BarbecuedPossum I own a G27, a mouse and keyboard set, a webcam, and a headset from them. The webcam was most disappointing. Before they could fix the drivers to make it function better in varying light conditions, they were selling the "2.0" version a month later. Logitech just don't care about long-term support of their products, so long as they can keep manufacturing and selling them. The G29 and G920 was a very belated release, only because they couldn't get the G27 to communicate with the PS4 and Xbone. They know they've got the cheaper product with all the features we often want (such as a clutch pedal and shifter) But if they can keep their own costs down, then it's most fortunate for them, not us. Age old saying, you get what you pay for. And in this case, the G29 actually gives you LESS than a G27 for an inflated price.
+Alex Paulsen They might not be the best in terms of long term software support however in my experience with the g27, g920, keyboards, mice, speakers + webcams, I've always found their products to be extremely reliable from a hardware perspective and any issues with software were fixed fairly quickly. You only mentioned the webcam out of all the products you stated to have an issue (which I'm sure if it wasn't defective you could have researched and decided on a different model if that was one if it's drawbacks) so really I think that's pretty good going. Also just saying my G27 is 5 years old and has had around 6k hours use and apart from pedal potentiometers which cost £3 to replace it has never skipped a beat. Which says something for the durability of the hardware at least.
Great review, and man..I am seriously looking at the 920. I can't help but notice though - in the gameplay footage, it looks like you're leaving the suggested line on. No bueno, hombre.
If you're willing to spend this much money on this toy, then you might at well go balls deep and get the T500 RS. I've owned both and the G27 feels like a babies toy, since the G29 isn't different, it's just a more expensive babies toy.
Kellan West Right now buying a T500 is a pretty bad investment. Their prices are rising quickly at the moment due to the high demands for Pcars and such. Theyre pretty much sold out everywhere or shipping takes way too long. Atleast thats where I live and most of the other countries nearby. Not to mention that you'd have to buy a TH8RS shifter for the T500 while you can use the g27 shifter if you owned one.
But the G27 isn't available for the PS4 and I didn't know about the high demand/price rise. That's ashame. I'm happy I got mine before the rush, too bad I already had to send it back to Thrustmaster and have been waiting for about two months now for it to be returned without any word from them still.... Isho, this is Slavon lolol small world. You remember? XD
Kellan West T500 RS is overpriced for wheel that is already having failures. Plus Thrustingmasters have shocking customer service. Im trading mine in on a G29
So here's a question. As someone who still uses a G25 and would primarily be using this wheel on PC, and MAYBE on a PC for GT7 down the road - am I better off looking at some of the other wheels? I have to admit that on paper, the Fanatec CSW looks attractive, but price aside, the nightmare support stories scare me off... So G27->G27 may not be of much value, so is a G25->G29 a better proposition? I could certainly use all of the buttons on the G29, especially for iRacing. The measly two buttons on the G25 just aren't enough anymore.
6:42 WRONG! the old gen g27 is not compatible with the ps4. the 2nd gen g27 with the tiny logo in the center (compared to the 1st gen) is compatible with the ps4
anyone know were I could track down a spare shifter for a g27 I was some what lucky ti get one free but it came shifterless do any of the older shifters work with the g27 as am struggling to find a g27 shifter for a reasonable price.
Thanks for the review. I have been on the fence about the G29 and after watching your review I will definitely save some money and get the G27. I am using it for Project Cars on PC.
hi, so i can use the g29 shifter for my g27 is that it ? i bought a used g27 at my fleemarket and the guy did not have the shifter that came with it :(
You cant have an opinion about a products durability lmfao. Either way, its a Logitech product, so you KNOW its going to last you 5-10 years working near perfectly, so durability isnt an issue at all with either of these wheels.
would my ferarri 458 steering wheel work with project cars on xbox one.. my steering wheel doesnt have a fore feed back motor or should i just use my controller
Well i see why people are disappointed with the G29 because even after years it has not really changed that much from the G27. Even worse, gotta buy the shifter separately. But i'm getting the G29, already ordered it, including the shifter for ard $308 USD (Converted from SGD) which to me is a great deal for a brand new one. Can't wait to use it!
I got one yesterday but i returned it, since the pc did not recognized it. And on the laptop and ps3 had a problem with it, it was not centered, it was off a few degrees each time, to the left or the right. Got the second one today, and still it does not stay centered when moving the wheel or when auto calibrating, is like the centering force is dead in the middle. Also the wheel has a wobble, it`s not fixed very wheel on the 3 spokes of aluminium. Does anybody experienced this before?

Did you wear a helmet just to mount a GoPro to it, or did you have Fruit Loops that morning?
Wow, this was the only review that actually answered all of my own questions. Thanks!
When noob has MEGA NICE gaming setup
i wouldnt call this mega nice at all
Slight correction for 9:16 -> ... The G27 didn't originally retail for around the same price as G29 does, the G27 was 300$ at launch while the G29 is 400$.
sound could be due to wear and tear on the g27
What about drifting? have you tried it? Csuse the main problem is the gearing being slow..
Btw my G27 sounds totally diffrent when calibrating! It sounds much smoother than yours
I just got the G29 as my first wheel with the shifter for my PS4 yesterday. I reckon I can drive better than you, and it's still in the box. I loved reading all the comments below more than the video. great work.
I want force feedback in GTA 5!
ByteMe you can ! on pc
sofian senac Please enlighten me!
+ByteMe Then you need realistic handling first
+xXxMartin96xXx Another PC Fanboy...god...
What is that sound 0:27
My g27 is a couple years old now, works as good as new. Which is to say it works great. The six buttons are also easy to use without moving your hands. If your using PC, the better bang for your buck is almost definitely still the g27. Having to buy your h pattern separately is bunk. Center dead spot never got in the way of being competitive in iracing, really never notice it unless I'm tying to.
@Rxverse Do I still use it? Yes I do. Pedal box needs repair currently, some of the wires got frayed (my fault). I'll fix it though, no problem.
the center deadspot can be fixed by just using a lut file
Hi, I built my own GIMX adapter for using G27 on PS4 and there is no lag at all!
even when I have the G29 when I watch these videos I'm like "I wish I had a G29" then I realise that "oh wait I already have one"
I feel the G29 is a great wheel pedal and Shifter set (I bought it as a bundle from the gamesmen in Australia) and damn it's a great racing wheel for PC PS4 and PS3 games though on PS3 it acts like the Logitech Driving Force GT, which would mean getting a TH8A is a great idea for use with the wheel (and the TH8A has 7 gears plus reverse and is compatible with any wheel due to the Use of the USB adapter that comes in the box)
Can anyone confirm if the G29 pedals are compatible with the G27 wheel on a PS2?
Never thought logitech could be this greedy
What I want to know if it is possible to use the G29 wheel with a G25 shifter (because the G25 Shifter still has that turning knob on top to switch between traditional 6-speed shifter and rally-style sequential shifter) wich the G27 shifter and G29 shifter no longer have).
G29 looks like a expensive version of the DFGT
+FSXgta And you should test force feedback in assetto corsa, since in project cars the tracks are very flat but in ac they have more bumps and marks
+FSXgta Glad I wasn't the only one who said that upon seeing it.
Can I use the adaptor to use the g27 on my Xbox
I;m about to buy a G27 for $170, is that good?
Luis Ortiz I got one for sale for $190 CAD which is a very good price. Definitely go for yours,
It's good if you have a PC but not a modern console since the G27 is not compatible with these.
Dededede1973 Yes i have a PC
+Luis Ortiz
So yes buy a G27. it's an excellent wheel and you'll have a lot of fun with it and from the video I see no major differences with the G29 other than its compatibility with the ps4.
+Brayden Wilkes $190 CAD?!?! WHERE?!?
my desk has a slide out keyboard under it. will the G27 still be able to clamp on?
why are you recording these type of videos when you dont now how to drive
If games will continue with support on g27 then there is no reason to go for g29 right ? Looks like.. Especially when noob get wheel first time in life.
+DSR07Gaming.com You're correct with that statement.
The g29 looks like a chinese knockoff of the g27, they really want people to pay extra money for that?
Caliginous Moira
Thrustmaster and Fanatec probably offer better warranties or service on their products. Logitech drop all software support within weeks of release.
+Alex Paulsen No they don't. Seems like you've just come here to chat shit and you've probably had little experience with any of their products..
BarbecuedPossum
I own a G27, a mouse and keyboard set, a webcam, and a headset from them.
Kellan West or a T300.
Kellan West Ayy whatsup man :P Small world indeed.
0:54 the guy with helmet ahaha
Love how you're wearing a helmet, you know what CrazyRussianHacker says "Safety is number one priority"
but who is best logitech g27 or G920?
Dr.Alienware The 920 is essentially the exact same as the 29, so most likely the 920.
920 has less buttons so G29 is better
I got the g29 more buttons and can put a custom wheel on
you can change the wheel like the g27?
yep there are some really cool ones too.
Brooo… never realized this video is 7 years old until hi said its 6 years old.
was he wearing a helment???? lmae
6:42 WRONG! the old gen g27 is not compatible with the ps4. the 2nd gen g27 with the tiny logo in the center (compared to the 1st gen) is compatible with the ps4
That's good to know. Know the model number?
I’m gonna buy the G29
I bought it
@@artur.lv.drifter6839 how do you like it? i'm thinking about buying it myself
Eh, I like the g27 better. I mean they feel like the same thing. Just with different looks.
Why doesn't the G920 have the gear shift indicator LEDs but the G29 does?
im sorry but you wear a helmet and gloves when u play a racing game, that's a little over the top and lame as hell.
Hi can l use g27 shifter for g29?
Lay off the energy drinks pal...
Do you know how to repair the G27 center alignment out of sync issue?
The G29 is Like the G27 and GT Fore had a baby
Andrews agree
anyone know were I could track down a spare shifter for a g27 I was some what lucky ti get one free but it came shifterless do any of the older shifters work with the g27 as am struggling to find a g27 shifter for a reasonable price.
for the love of god, man. Fix your field of view and viewing distances. No wonder you can't avoid things.
Thanks for the review. I have been on the fence about the G29 and after watching your review I will definitely save some money and get the G27. I am using it for Project Cars on PC.
Assetto Corsa and iRacing are much better, some of the physics on PCARS are pulled straight from NFS: Rivals.
nope I still prefer the g27
hi, so i can use the g29 shifter for my g27 is that it ?
i bought a used g27 at my fleemarket and the guy did not have the shifter that came with it :(
what is the best g29 g27 g25 and g920
G27
Lolno the G29 is the best of the bunch, but its a little bit more expensive than the others
NoseyGuyy G29 its look like a child wheel, g27 you can put a real wheel with one 5$ adaptor and in my opinion its more durable than g29... i dont know
You cant have an opinion about a products durability lmfao. Either way, its a Logitech product, so you KNOW its going to last you 5-10 years working near perfectly, so durability isnt an issue at all with either of these wheels.
NoseyGuyy Yep, you ar right al ready bought a G29.. :))
Why with the centering spring? Makes me question whether or not his analysis of the FFB is accurate.
too expensive
@FPFoxy wtf where do u live
@FPFoxy Here in Finland g29 costs like 300-500€ without shifter
Does the g27 really feels like you're driving an actual car?
Thumbs up if you think the Logitech G27 is better than the Logitch G29
One of the best videos I've found, didn't know that g920 and g29 has different comp's with consoles. Great work!
Very helpful video. I am in the market for a wheel and I think this video has helped me in deciding to get the g29. Thank you MW Technology
would my ferarri 458 steering wheel work with project cars on xbox one.. my steering wheel doesnt have a fore feed back motor or should i just use my controller
Where can I pick a g27 up and how much? Just wheel and peddles
Enjoying this video while it doesn't have compulsory advertisement and it's glorious.
