I’ve had my DFGT for about 11 years, and it’s taken me through Gran Turismo, Test Drive, NFS, Dirt, Assetto Corsa, iRacing, and many other games I’ve probably forgotten. While it is lacking compared to today’s wheels, it still works great and has never let me down! Definitely have to say this is the wheel to go with if you’re just getting into sim racing!

I sold my g27 years ago that I got as a gift. Decided to get back into sim racing with vr, and found a dfgt for $25 US without the pedals, grabbed new thrustmaster t3pa pedals for $80, and I also got a driving force shifter for $60. There's USB adapters for both the pedals and shifter. Works great in Dirt Rally and the usual sim racers. Barely notice a difference between it and my old g27 other than the quality of the products used to make the wheel. Some games won't let you use separate pedals, unfortunately, but they're not games I'm lost without playing. Also if you get some lithium grease on the gears in the wheel, it lowers the sound considerably. $165 for a full usable 3 pedal H-pattern setup with a $60 eBay rig that you set a standard chair up to. Feels incredibly immersive with VR as long as you use a chair that doesn't roll and swivel 🤣

Hi everyone, I've used my driving force gt for 8 years now and have played around 1600-1800 hours on it. I love the wheel for its simplicity and how it looks. However, I have some issues with it. after the 1000 hour mark things started to make a lot of noise and it can be very annoying for the people around you. also are there some spots where the ffb completely loses its power. The compatibility is also quite hard to get to work with some titles. But if you look at the price it's impossible to say it's not worth your buck. If you don't have much money to spend I really re4commend this steering wheel since it's been reliable since 2013 for me. I hope this helps someone to make a decision.

I got my DFGT in 2012, brand spanking new lol. Used it for 8 years, its a pretty decent wheel for beginners. But the speed of this wheel is just awful, so instead of spending hundreds of dollarydoos for a new wheel. I modded the thing, a gear mod was able to sufficiently bring the speed up so I can drift well with it but it effectively killed the torque of the ffb. So then i wanted more, using 30$ worth of random stuff i was able to make it a belt driven wheel, yes, a belt drive. Changed all the inner electronics with custom new ones incl. new motor etc. Its basically a mini T500 at this point. I have a test video over at my channel if you're curious abt it. Great video btw highlighting this obscure wheel from the past

I purchased my DFGT brand new in 2008, shortly after I bought my ps3. I remember actually regretting the purchase for a while as I struggled to control the cads in game, so much so I boxed it back up a shoved it in my closet for a few months. I eventually got it back out and set it up on my ironing board that I used as my wheel stand and started to enjoy it. I still use this wheel exclusively the pedals leave a lot to be desired but they are very functional and seem durable. The only thing that has failed for me is my power cord which was pinched at some point around 2010 and 2012 requiring rewiring and in the last few months the power socket is failing. I attribute this to the very poorly designed ports on the base. They angle down towards the mounting surface. In fact I honestly have been expecting this particular failure for about 10 years now.

This year was digging through family attic for something and found it. I have to say , it’s still very much a great product for today. I love this thing and just like back in 2010 , I use it daily. I have a lot of love for this steering wheel. I strongly suggest making the purchase if you aren’t sure you wanna commit entirely to a racing sim setup.
I do a lot of drifting with the setup compared to sim racing was in GT5 … I set the shifter up for handbrake and up shift , use the wheel paddles for shifting.
No clutch pedal! But you can buy on separately or possibly even get a pedal set that is compatible with the driving force gt.

Another Upgrade is a 14€ thrustmaster flight joystick acting as a hydro E-brake (it has a nice spring) Absolutely satisfied so far I've tried my mates t300rs it was better but didn't feel like i need one asap it wasn't a game changer tbh and the sequential shifter near the wheel is also cool so i have a complete setup for 60€

I am able to use the DFGT with the mentioned games with separate pedal controls.
If I remember correctly the trick in these games is to select the target controller before configuring those controls.

After a long break from sim racing (using this wheel on gran turismo 5) I’ve recently come back again to play GT sport on PS4. I was annoyed I couldn’t use this driving force gt on PS4, instead I picked up a TM T150 second hand and now upgraded to a G923 but still I don’t feel like either is an upgrade over the DFGT, I think that should tell that it’s still a really good wheel. Somehow (as I remember) the DFGT was really good at picking out details in the force feedback, something that blew my mind when I bought it back in 2010.
I miss the placements of the buttons and I really miss the sequential gear shifter because it was perfect to program as handbrake and reverse, it was so easy to quickly grab it to do a swift reverse and obv very handy as a handbrake.
I can only agree with this video because if you can use it with games on pc it should be a very good and cheap alternative to start out or if you still want to play games on ps3.

When PS4 was released I was horrified to find that it wouldn't be supported, so it sat in a box for 10 years until I grew out of console gaming and got into PCVR Sim racing. I never even considered buying a new wheel once I found my DFGT worked on Windows 10, but I am going to add some load cell pedals and a H pattern shifter for a more authentic experience. I will definitely keep racing this wheel until I can get my hands on a reasonably priced DD base with a couple of wheels.

Didn't have a desk to mount it too, which is quite important (imagine wrestling a force feedback wheel on your lap!). Thought it was three pedals and 6 speed shifter, which would have been more realistic for driving practice. Basically didn't do my research and the thing was wasted on me. Greetings and great video, well explained and with lots of detail in the review.
I can confirm that this wheel is amazing for what you paid for it, i have one at home that i treasure alot,
i have not used it for some time, but now i want to dust it off under my table and set it up for some racing.
Got mine for about 90 dollars, but it came fully working with all accessories in great condition.
Included with the wheel was the Wheelstandpro, hence why it was a little bit more expensive, but it's really
nice to be able to fold it up and hide it under the table when not in use, and i also wanted to have the wheelstandpro
if i wanted to play around with friends and VR Dirt rally (it was really cool effect to be able to look around the car while driving)
but in all fairness, it was cumbersome to setup with more cables and such, but cool to be able to play it in VR. :)
Quality of this wheel is plastic, but its the "good" plastic that wont break, one downside of this wheel is that it is a little bit
on the loud side, so wont be playing it after GF is going to sleep, but im not an expert with wheels in general, so i cannot compare
it to any other, so i dont know if it is louder than the rest or not.
And the force feedback is really heavy, hitting a corner hard will really bumb you !! especially if you set force feedback at max and the
    game is savage! ;)

In fact I just looked and there isn't a single one for sale. It's either the steering wheel + pedals, or nothing. At which point I might as well buy them brand new because they hold their value so damn well.
A working DFGT sells for the same price I bought it at. And mine is a pretty early one. I bought it around 2009, brand new.
I tried the G29 and the T150 but I wasn't impressed with either one. They aren't worth their price in my opinion.
I borrowed the G29 from a friend. In half a year it developed a click in the brake pedal and it had wheel wobble. I wasn't impressed with the force feedback either.
I bought a T150 Pro and then returned it for 3 main reasons.
      1. The pedals are terrible. I had wobble on the brake and clutch from day one. The throttle was squeaky. Sure you can take it apart and grease it (like many people have done), but that's not something you do when the thing is a week old. It's been in production for a few years. At this point it's absurd to find glaring quality issues like this.
Also no teeth for use on carpet. It's a ridiculous oversight and they didn't fix that in the T248 either...
      2. I can hear the fan while wearing headphones. It's annoying.
      3. The wheel itself... You know how you can feel the gears of the force feedback system in the DFGT? Well the T150 has that too. Except those teeth "happen" around once every 3° of rotation and the amount of force you need to turn the wheel is inconsistent because of this. I can't really explain it better but it's an absolute deal breaker for me.
I role play more than I race and if I set the force feedback strength to match the power steering of a real car, I end up with literally no force feedback and a wheel that feels like something inside it is binding, but not constantly.
Unfortunately I don't see anything on the market below the T300 that I would even consider spending this much money on.
