I bought the 900 for my 2012 Fx4 and it works great. The only thing I can’t figure out is how to integrate the HVAC temp/ambient temp/fan level readout that was previously in the LED readout above the old head unit. Y’all had any luck with that?
Yeah, I have same issue and it ate up the battery and my car's battery is dead. I talked to support and they said the CANBUS is defected, they are sending a new one that will take about 3 weeks to arrive
I don't remember what they were. Im sure I have a picture or note somewhere I will try to find it. I am sorry about that. I used asbuilt data from an 2013 XLT if that helps.
I got the 380 cad one and installed it. It ate my trucks battery, I was manually switching the panel off because it was not turning off when I turn off the vehicle but still it ate the battery. I talked to support and they said the CANBUS is defected, they are going to send me another CANBUS. I notice that their support is so bad. Were you able to display the outside temperature, direction compass (n, E, w, S) and car's climate control on this LCD? Because they are located at the top panel that gets hidden after installing this one. Also, my radio connection adapter is different than the one this stereo has.
The reverse cable that came on mine had a white clip that plugged into the back of the unit with a RCA plug. I will look for a photo and get back to you.
Curious, I have '13 XL with steering wheel controls. Would the controls be recognized by the new Radio, or did you have to go into settings and make some adjustments? I understand you had to turn on the controls for your truck on with Forscan, guessing I wouldn't need to do that?
As long as you have the steering controls it will recognize them, I added the steering controls to the stock radio before the upgrade so it would be just like a higher trim level XLT when I swapped the radio out.
I followed a video on the removal just so I knew what tabs to pull off as far as install it was all plug and play and I don't think any connectors are able to plug in where they should not go.
@@humbullitt Sorry Im bothering you again. My radio went bad that's why I'm replacing it. Does this replace the OEM radio ( or double din) behind the dash or connect to it? I am seeing that some connect to the existing radio and obviously that won't help me.
Did you have (and have to remove) the top stock LED display? Most after market units get installed UNDER the stock LED display. This one looks more clean.
Yes you remove the display. In my case I lost the outside temp display but I installed a weather app which places the outside temp back up at the top. If you have a truck with auto climate control you would probably lose your temp display but I am unsure.
My truck did not have sync from the factory so I did not have a mic or steering wheel buttons. I bought a wheel from an XLT and installed it, I had to activate the switches using Forscan by changing some values on the steering column control module. If you already have the buttons then the new radio is plug and play, the factory mic will likely not work and they include a aftermarket mic which you should be able to place in the headliner where the factory one goes. I placed mine in the A pillar because I did not have a spot from the factory anyway.
I must admit the options on the site lack info and are confusing. From what I gather the T300 is the base cheapest option the T600 and finally T900. I selected the cheapest one which was T300A I see is not listed anymore but it has a 8" screen. Now it looks as if the T300 is the 9" screen and is all they have available for $141 which is a great deal still in my eyes. Mine is still working great after 6 months I had one instance of the weather app not loading and displaying an old temperature but I just swiped down and pressed the clear apps tab and no other issues so far.
You have to select the one that is compatible with your current dash configuration. There's the AT style and the MT style. If you have round knobs for your AC controls, it's likely the MT style. If all of your controls are in the rectangle formation, it's likely the AT style. In addition to either AT or MT, you have to look at the specs of the system you want. The less expensive ones don't have faster processor speeds and features. Some have 4G capability and others are WiFi. Look at all the options.
Thanks! They are from a 2021 F150 Sport Package. I found them locally for only few hundred bucks keep an eye out on craigslist or facebook marketplace.
I did not have to splice into any wires on my vehicle. Only thing I had to use a connector for was the backup camera wire from the unit to the red wire on the camera cable.
It still is working great, have not had any issues, kind of lags sometimes when trying to use maps but always connects to Bluetooth and radio just fine.
Yes add the new wheel and switch is all. Then change values of SCCM and it works. I will look and see if have wrote down what line need to be changed and follow up if I find it.
I just googled it. Much easier. Here is the link of how someone else added them and what values they changed. The ACM values dont need to be changed if replacing radio. www.f150forum.com/f38/how-adding-steering-wheel-audio-controls-12-14-f150-464115/
Thanks for the replay. I have a 2011 f150 xl. That came with a plain radio. I've upgraded the steering wheel to one with the switches and needed the values for the sccm to make it work with my android radio.
It still works great to this day, there is some screen burn in from being on the radio screen so much but functions work good and I have been happy with it.
@@humbullitt So, question- I have the 4.2 inch screen in my 2014 F150- What install kit do you need to install this for steering wheel controls- mine is the xlt, but didn't have a touchscreen or backup camera.
Only issue I have had is the button color backlighting didn't come on once and I just swiped down to clear memory and It came back but I had a lot if apps running at the time. I also had the volume buttons on my steering wheel glitch out and not work or work intermittently which I thought was the unit but ended up being my oem ford steering wheel switch went bad. It was $40 on Amazon.

Do you know if I can hook my amp for my sub woofer up to this unit or the T900 unit?
1 am watching these kinds, man I thought your kid was mine in the room. Paused the video and listened for a bit 😂
That’s a nice smooth looking screen
That's a damn nice work truck.

How did it turn out
Also Curious how this one turned out!

I can't find the 300A model. What was the manufacturer? Thanks John
how can I make my climet control to show in the screen?
Did you have to set it to show the ford symbol?
I am curious how to do that as well.
It has a list of preprogrammed car brand logos you can pick from. Not sure if all are like that but this one was right out the box.
I wonder if this will work for my lariat
Hey bro I have same truck but 2014 ,xlt with backup cameras.
Can I connect my phone to it and listen to UA-cam music?
I have a 2012 f150 xlt. I bought a T1 radio and I can't seem to get it to turn on. Did you have this issue?
I added the weather app you suggeted, but the temp on the top of the main display did not show up? Is there a setting that needs changed?
I've got the same problem😅
It is still showing up on mine. I think I had to go to the setting in the weather app and click display on status bar.

It comes with an adapter when you purchase the radio.
Overall good vid
Will this allow you to have the radio playing whilst following google maps for example?
Can you post a link to the product? I can't find it in the description.
Show the wiring….. Everyone shows this screen working but no one shows the wiring process!!!!!
Thanks
How did you get the ford logo on it
Did you have any issues connecting into the factory amplifier? It’s says it won’t connect if you have a factory amplifier on the webpage.
I have an XL so I had no factory amp. I would not be able to help you with that sorry.
I’m having trouble with my volume it ain’t as loud. Do you have that problem ?
Do you know if I could pair an amp to this so I could run a sub ?
Is it still working fine or have you had any issues with it? Thinking of getting one
Does your stearing wheel control work
I lost my screen up top now I don’t know what the temp is inside or outside I have a 2011 lariat and was able to set climate inside
how this is my only problem i have a lariat too
How did you get the ford start screen and how did you change the color of the buttons
You can change the color with a built in app that it came with. It also had the start screen pre loaded you can select the logo.
