Just installed this screen in my 2012 F150 a little over a week ago. So far I love it. Audio quality is much better than factory, the features are endless (although I mostly just use apple carplay), install took no more than 20-30 mins…. Only negative things I could
Say about this is the mic quality, Bluetooth connection time (sometimes instant sometimes 25secs), & no volume knob.
Other than that this is a huge upgrade to my vehicle for functionality and looks. Can’t beat it with a stick. Only a week in but so far so good.
Yay! Skipped the best part plugging in all the wires and reinstall. Super helpful 😂
That wasn’t really the point of the video, but it’s pretty straightforward. No one thing has the same plug!
Did you have any trouble with getting power to the unit?
I’ve got everything plugged in and the stock stereo works just fine, but when I swap it all over to the android unit it won’t power on. (2009 f150 xlt)
Yes, I had the same issue. It's not plug and play like they say it is. You'll need to take it to a radio store so you can splice power to it.
When I get a moment I'll show you where it had to be spliced and maybe you can do it.

Thanks for the video! I'm looking at purchasing this radio for my 2011 F150 XLT. I noticed on Seicane's website that this radio comes in High Level and Low Level versions. Which one did you purchase? I don't know what the difference is between high level and low level anyway, :).

On this unit, it’s all plug and play. No 2 connectors are the same. As far as the backup wire, the power wire taps into your reverse lights in the rear an the video wire will need to be run into the cab to the connection on the radio.

Do you know if these basic radios can be swapped out for a sync3 system? Is there different wiring or all the same between xl and Lariat wiring?
Connecting should be the same no matter the trim level of your truck.

Will the RPA(rear park assist) beep still when youre in reverse backing up? I know it should but i want to know for sure before i cover up my entire accessories screen in my 12 f150 xlt with sync

With this radio, how did you hook up the old antenna. The two connections that the radio came with do not fit.

Not necessarily! Depends on what you’re hooking up to it. Amplifiers, backup cameras, USB cable extensions…..

I bought this unit but don’t know how to do the Apple CarPlay. How did you connect it ?
As long as Carplay is turned on in your phone, it should connect automatically! Otherwise, you can plug it into the usb dongle.
Speaking of that 62 international what are your plans with that thing or you going to do something like a Cummins or international diesel swap or are you going to restore it or what's the plan so far

What is your overall review of this radio? How is the sound quality and is it glitchy
My only complaint it occasionally it apple carplay takes longer than usual to connect wirelessly. Hi can still plug it in to connect instantly. Otherwise, best investment to my truck in a long time

I have a 2010 lariat. It has the info buttons on the dash also. Does this work for it also?
I can’t say for sure, but I am under the impression tag all factory options are meant to work as intended!
I cant get the panel off the right side off the stereo. Is it behind the airbag cover?
It doesn't necessarily need t come off, just pull it toward you so you have access to the bolts.
@OldeCarrGuy Thx for the reply! I figured it out. You have to remove the airbag, and there is one bolt holding it on.

I bought a new radio because I was getting the flashing screen on the orriginal radio. The new one is also not working, it'll just start up then turn off right away. Any tips on how to fix that?
Sounds like you have a problem potentially in your BCM.

Is it for sure good for a 2013? I looked up the model for the radio and it says 2012 but everything looks the exact same on my truck
My best guess is yes it will work for a 13. The full screen models that they list specifically for a 2013 also say they’ll fit 09-13 so you should be safe.

What happens to the top screen which shows time and climate controls? Does the new screen show them?
The old screen gets hidden by the new radio, no need to remove it. The new radio does show time. Not sure about climate controls as my trucks controls were operated manually.
ok thanks. I ordered one off ebay and its coming today. My truck is a lariat which has the numerical display for climate control temp, where the knob is just a 2 way hotter or colder as compared to the hot or cold knob found on the xl and xlt trucks.@@OldeCarrGuy

It’s not covered up! You keep all those controls but move them over to the new bezel!

been at it for around 20 Minutes, still cant remove the hazard switch section out. Which way does it go out and how do i open/close the clips to remove it??

Other than unplugging power and plugging it back in, I'm not sure.
I was hoping that your link would take me to the same touch screen that you are installing with the installation kit. There are 100's of stuff to choose from.

What about the wires also does it have gps?
It does have GPS. All the wires have a unique plug to match so there is only one way to plug in.
How did you do your CarPlay? I have the exact same one and I can’t get car play to work
As long as CarPlay is turned on on your phone, it should connect automatically. If not there is a setting in the radio to choose one of 2 types of connection. I use the “Z” something or other.

Can anyone tell me if the steering wheel controls will work with an after market radio?
My truck doesn’t have steering wheel controls, but as far as I understand, these radios are synced via canbus and should allow all factory controls.

How do you remove the top factory screen? Where the clock was
I didn't remove it as it's not in the way for the new radio.
I was trying to decide between this, and a name branded Pioneer, this dash kit looks way better than any name brand stuff I can find. Was curious about the top screen as well, does it become just a pointless screen once an aftermarket unit is installed?
It just stops working and I didn’t remove it!

@@OldeCarrGuy thank you that video was perfect! Apparently i did the wiring correctly but it still didnt come on so im assuming its a bad radio n imma send it back for a new one. I did check to make sure it wasnt the fuses.

Did you try opening the door to trigger the power to shut off. That’s the only thing I can think of. Otherwise you should contact the manufacturer.

so the radio sound works but when i exit radio mode i cant hear anything, no bluetooth, or carplay. can someone help?
There are volumes level adjustments for Bluetooth in settings. I would start there. The volume settings may just be too low

We kinda skipped over the steering whee connections could we go over that
It was skipped because my truck doesn't have steering wheel controls for the radio and this was a "how to remove the radio" and not necessarily an install video. Having said that, the canbus control should adapt any factory options such as the wheel controls and backup camera.

The radio won't shut off after turning off the truck, could anyone know whats causing this?
Neither does the factory radio until you open the door or times out (5-10 minutes). This should be working the same!

@@codymcgowen5579got mine today, have the same issue going on lol. Won’t turn off at all unless it’s unplugged. Doors don’t do it and when it “times out” a red light is still on in the back and it’s still drawing power in “sleep mode”.
@@midtownpowerwashers1368 the only think I figured out is it will turn off after 10 minutes since that is a factory option. It does bypass the door opening turn off.
So it only turn off after 10 minutes of no power.
Did anyone figure out a solution to radio not turning off?

Bruh the only reason I came to this video was to see what/how to plug in the radio why did we skip the most important part….?
Because the video is about how to remove the factory radio! However, all of the plugs are different and only will plug in one way. It’s actually quite simple!
The stereo he installed it's the plug and play type, there's no cutting wires or getting rid of any wires, it's the same connections, so he basically didn't skip much
