Thin/cheap plastic "drop sheets" for painting your house interior rooms are great for covering your car when parked up in the garage. I have tried those soft fabric car covers you buy from Auto shops but they are useless for letting the fine dust particles through (which is in the air at all times). If you do use those fabric car covers still - then place a plastic drop sheet over as well
You were very lucky there Kandy Man, I have seen those synthetic clay bars but was always weary about trying them but it looks like they are better or as good as the original ones. Your car looks amazing and the finish on it is as good as it gets so it's defiantly worth looking after it👍
Thanks exactly the same thing I did with the over spray 😢 can't see it but I feel it. And my car is so soft to the touch after a wipe down. It got all over 😳 gonna get this tomorrow 💪🏽
I’m happy everything worked out. The paint job is stunning, it’d be a shame if you needed to do extensive repair. I love the plate “Vino 72”. Like a fine wine…
Crazy story here, painted some motorcycle parts in my garage. I had a custom painted motorcycle that I moved behind my house. When done I got over spray on that motorcycle. The overspray was coming out front of my garage and the breeze was lifting it and blew it over the house and it fell on my motorcycle in back yard. Would believe it if I didn't see the overspray blowing over house when I walked out of garage 😢
Instead of clay barring I have in the past just to put some swirl mark remover and a foam pad and just go over it lightly wash it with soapy water and go over it again sometimes the pad will snatch the overspray off while polishing
@@kandyman5315 I know it one more lightly Mist down the whole panel one panel one panel at a time with some Goo Gone let it sit for maybe 45 minutes then white with microfiber cloth One Direction only while lifting the cloth as you wipe at the same time and lifting off the contaminants and not sliding them across the paint work that all depends on the surface finish what type of clear how polished it is and what stuck to it if this will work or not
I hear of people using synthetic plumbers putty of course I claybar a soft one and a brand-new in on something of that caliber with water or the lubricant spray of course you might have to lightly polish maybe even compound polish and swirl mark remover after that is going to lightly scratch
just found you last week, beautiful work! i went thru the paradise camp fire of 2018 and just now replacing my compressor n guns. look forward to restoring my 05 must convert. cant wait to do my first candy job, only done solid n metalics.
I know this sounds crazy but it works. When you check your clay bar progress, put your hand in a baggie. It increases the sensitivity. You'll feel a lot more grit that needs removed.
Spray max Grey Epoxy overspray is the worst! That shit flys far too. I exclusively use spraymax 2k & automotive touchup matched base colors. Done many repairs, micro blends, 1/4 & 1/2 cars that way. Takes long time doing it in a regular garage, body works by hand. But i can get pretty nice jobs. I do hope that 2k Glamour clear lasts 10 years. Seems good, Ive done couple dozen repairs with it. Also doing my daily driver panel by panel all quality rattle can stuff. My metallic paint job are super good youd swear it was a spray gun in a booth. Wonder what i could do with all the right equipment. Used to be a union painter in the 90s, new home construction.. I seem to really like painting, im part sicilian from my grandpa, & he liked to paint as well.
Do you mind sharing what car cover you use for your cars? I’ve got a show a 66 mustang with a custom paint job that I keep garages, and I’m afraid of putting a cover on the car that might scratch the paint.
Killer Cutlass. If you don't mind, what size wheels are you running in the rear, what is the offset? Did you have to modify the wheel well to fit those in? Thanks.
Just curious did the black truck get any overspray on it.notice you only had 18 inch paper not car cover .maybe it was just the way the wind was blowing . And if the the truck was really dirty it won't stick I don't think
@kandyman5315 ya that's what I figured what bad luck ☹️. Funny too if only u closed the garage door 🚪 you'd be clay baring that garage door haha 😄 love your channel
@@kandyman5315 I only asked because I work with a painter from the automotive field. I’m not in paint yet but I’m told I “have it” so I ask him questions about your videos and paint society’s videos. I’m obsessed with paint.. t to bay was his question.
Knowledge and experience,no replacing that, someone who's put the time and work into their craft,no panic, just got it done.
Thanks for the support 👍
I’m going to get this. One of the techs in the shop was spray painting right not to my fresh paint job. Thanks for the tip
The paint on this car is phenomenal I can’t wait to have my own projects like this hard work pays off

That was my next step lol but it came off before.

I’ve used a fine clay bar and detailing spray with similar results

Don't think it will work, but you can give it a shot

What is the code of the color. I really want to paint my vintage vespa the same color
House of Kolors brandywine
Over spray cloth is what I use it’s Mai’s just for that
Tack rag?
Why not use a over spray clay bar???
Same thing
Messy and can scratch it if bar gets dirty
