Thank you for this video! This is like a miracle product for me. I have been stressing for weeks about how to remove overspray from my new car and have even been to two body shops who didn’t have a good answer other than to repaint. After watching this video I was able to fix it myself. Such a massive help to me. Thank you!!!
Glad I found this video. My car (along with about 10 co-workers) had our personal cars exposed to paint overspray while in the parking lot at work. Entire cars got covered. Now we're tied up with Insurance issues between our Company and the painters' Insurance company around what needs to be done. This clay removal video is exactly what I needed to see. THANK YOU
I was here for exactly the same reason. Just ordered a bar for 20 bucks!!
Here I am, 2 years later, same situation. 😑
dam good video! he explained it in full DETAIL , its also nice that he doesnt say" uh" um" uuh" every 15 sec. I cant stand when I hear that in videos lol
Totally worked with little effort. Overspray on my entire car. Thank you!!!!!❤
As a commercial painter, micro overspray is on more cars than I feel comfortable admitting. Some of the epoxy paints we use travels for a mile before drying to dust. We try to contain it but sometimes it’s not possible to get it all so it just blows in the wind and will stick to any car in its path. I’ve even bombed out my own vehicle a few times. Very Helpful video.
Thank u for the video. I had driven through some paint on the road and this was the only thing I found that actually worked and didn't ruin the cars finish. It was a lot of work and very time consuming but I'm very satisfied with the results.
Thank you so much for your in depth explanation of this process! Every video I've watched left out pertinent details and left me with too many questions, but your's was thorough, specific, and encompassed the entire process! So appreciated!
Just when I thought this video couldn't get any better, the techno music kicks in at 09:06 and blows my mind. Amazing tips, thank you.
Best damn video I’ve ever watched explaining a clay bar technique. Thanks mike
"Move the camera down here". Moves the camera in 3 inches. Great camera work!
Thank you so much for this video, it helped me a TON! had over spray all over the car after being in the shop, didn't want them to do it so i did it myself with your techniques.
Thanks so much!
Up until seeing your video I had never even heard of finishing clay. I had the exact same overspray as this vehicle which I have now removed with your advice. Thanks again :)
Excellent video,Mike! Thanks! I hope You're safe,healthy and well
You rock mike my neighbor spray painted his house without warning us and got on our cars but seeing this video made me feel better will be ordering your products

Thank you
Just oredered me some mothers gold detailing clay kits my car has some paint over spray and a rough surface cant wait to try it out Awsome Video man !!!!!
Well done, well spoken, I learned a lot here.
Thanks for detailed demonstration sir. Great video
Just the video I was looking for!
I was spray painting my project car in my garage and kept the garage door half close, some of the mist landed on my other car that was parked in the driveway. I noticed the front end of my other car felt rough and realize that probabbly because of the paint mist when painting my project car.
Detailing Clay will remove most above surface bonded contaminants, just test a section first.

Great video. I took my car that was rear ended to supposed professionals and somehow they got overspray all over it and gave it back to me thinking I wouldn't notice. So I'm taking back for them to clay bar the whole thing. Good to know that there are solutions like this.
Thanks
Yes. Try claying with detailing clay like I show in this video, or the Speedy Prep Towel, or even a product like Xenit from Stoner's. -Mike Phillips
Pinnacle Souveran wax for a Honda Accord? I thought people only used that on Bentleys and old Duesenbergs worth millions of dollars. Hats off to you, sir. This is a great video and you explained it very well. I was kidding about the Honda not deserving the high grade wax. A good quality wax should be applied to every automobile, even a Lada.
Great vid! Very helpful! Thank u!
wow you are very good teacher 🙌
There's a time and place for both clay and speedy prep towels, in fact I includes sections on both products in my how-to book. Copy and paste the below into Google,

Excellent video. Got overspray on my HD SGS and have been looking for a way to remove it. Thanks
Very welcome!
Very informative video, thank you.
It's always a good idea to do at least one polishing step after claying the paint to ensure a clear, clean, defect free surface. Join the AutogeekOnline . NET forum as that's the forum where all the action's at...

Does this work even when the overspray has been on the car for like a month?
Great instructional video. Outstanding and thanks!
I'm surprised this worked really well great tip
Glad it helped
And the good news is there's so many optioins for people to choose from today as compared to the limited choices we had for so many years. -Mike Phillips
Thanks for this. Need to try this on my motor as it has quite a bit of over spray on it!
Haven't seen many Accords that color black or with such a deep pretty shine. Hope this method works for me. I have what I think is interior wall paint that was splashed on to my car as the tray was being rinsed out.
Thank you sir you’ve been a great help!
thank you so much for the video. there was any reason that you didn't polished the car before waxing it?
Thank you for the tips

Thanks for the great video. How do you get over spray off a jeep wranglers plastic fenders and rear windshield?
These videos are excellent, thank you--
Why didn’t you run your hand over the bumper after you flayed it in the same area as you did before?
This stuff really works. Thank for the help. I was able to remove oil base paint. Now my has water spot. The clay takes it of but it takes way to long. Is there another way to do it?
Thank you 👍
Thank you for the information i think im better off doing it at home, can you only use one clay bar at a time or have more then one person working on the car
would this work on VDT paint/tint as well as clear coat spray?
I have a light overspray on my brand new truck.. it comes off ever so lightly with my nail. Tried buffing it and didn't do nothing but make it more noticeable.. this is my next step..
Treezy01 did it work?
Josh Juarez I used the chemical guys clay block and lubber.. did an amazing job. No more overspray.
That was a great video, thanks.
Thanks you are the best
Thank you too
How much clay do i need to buy , i need to do my whole car including the windows?
I see works good but paint spilled on the freeway would be a one-part paint or a two-part paint that barely even dried right so we'll come off very easy. How about a two-part urethane that is being sprayed? Is it easy to get that off? Have you ever tried?
"Sandwich Bagggyy" lol😂
Great Video, Thanks Very Much 👍🏽
Glad it was helpful! - Yancy
best explained video WOW

Mike, I loved your video. I just bought a 2007 Jaguar XKR and I noticed that it has some overspray that appears to be polished and waxed over, and is probably very old. Will clay help me remove it? I imagine I will need to use a more aggressive clay (and plan on polishing it out with a rotary or DA buffer). Thanks!
Yes. You can use clay on anything smooth. -Mike Phillips
Will a clay bar remove clear coat overspray? I sprayed clear coat over clear coat and now hood has clear coat overspray on top of the clear coat
Thanks for the video!
You're welcome!
Can we use clay bar in black plastic bumper too? Got some paint droplets in bumper please help how to remove it
will this work even though its been over a year?
Hi, great video. Thank you. I tried to get the roughness out of the paint on the classic i just bought. I used a mcguires clay bay with no results. I went to a detail shop, they told me it was over spray. Would you recommend that clay bar or something else. The car is black if that makes a difference. I believe the paint is a cleat coat base coat. I Would like to fix it myself and learn something new rather than shell out the $400 the detail shop wants. Thanks
Would this method work to remove clear coat overspray
Yes it would
recently bought a car. had a paint job done and wasnt masked that well. has some overspray on the window trims. will this clay method help me out?
Thankyou, same situation same paint color and same overspray color!
Any tips on removing road paint. My wife drove over white road paint. I used nu finish and magic eraser with alot of elbow grease to get alot off. The bottom under door trim is very bad. Any other suggestions?
Thanks for the information
I have a Ram 3500 that has overspray all over it from having a pergola sprayed in the backyard on a windy day. Unfortunately, this happened a few years before I bought the truck and it sat in the Amarillo sun that entire time. I'm going to try the clay, but I'm wondering how much resistance I should expect to encounter after having been on the paint for so long.
Any advice on a something that could be used first to soften it and help release the bond?
two questions. 1: I just had my classic car painted and it looks fine but has a rough texture to it. I dont know if its under the clear or over. either way, would clay get it slick? And 2: The wheels have some over spray on them and the rims are black. would clay remove the spray and how do I get in the small, tight nooks & crannys?.
Yes, you can use detailing clay on glass. You can use it on anything that is smooth and hard. You can use any quality detailing clay lube with most detailing clay. Some lubes are too slippery and will keep the clay from doing it's job. Join the AutogeekOnline . NET forum for all kinds of help detailing your car. -Mike Phillips
Is it necessary to compound and polish using machine after claying ?
I have this same exact black "glossy" Honda Accord. The back looks stylish and the front looks good. All this car is missing is tint
We just sprayed a portion of our car with an auto paint in an aerosol spray can. some of the spray got over, or left a dusting, on part of the vehicle where we didn't want it. You can tell it's there because it's dull, and bumpier. how do you remove it? Do you use the clay or is there something else?
How long would i have to wait before applying the clay on a freshly painted surface, in this case, a drum shell wrapped in PVC type plastic..?
I have a Indigo Blue Sonata and I live in Florida. The appliance repair store next door paints their appliances outside and my car is covered in appliance paint. It has been this way for almost a year as I have been arguing with owner about paying to get the paint off. Will the clay remove the appliance paint and since it has been so long any special prep I need to do?
im tring to get overspray off of a car but it is all over the car from top to bottom and i mean this stuff is everywhere is there any way i can do this faster? i do not mind the work but i just would like to know if it would be easer to get the car repainted or try this?
Wouldn’t the clay fill with dirt, sand and oxidation and then scratch up the car
does the clay work well on windshields with overspray? and what else can i use besides the clay lube u have in ur vid?
How many clay bars are needed to clay a whole car, including its glass parts and head and tail lights?
I got krylon clear spraypaint on my wifes new 2012 4runner also white rattle can spray paint im using clay to get it off but do I need a special clay lube or can I just use water?
I found clay bar locally but i can't find clay lube! What else can i use instead of it??
I am planning on buying a reconditioned car and I wanna clay it before waxing it. By the way, the car is 2 years old and it's garded 4.5. Is it necessary to apply some polish on the paint after claying?
If the overspray paint is water based ,can I use detail clay to remove it?
Sir I would like to get that seat you rolling around on?
And I'm guessing you don't need rubbing compound when you have detailing clay in event of someone getting mad at you and spray painting bad graffiti about you on the back of your car. Works like a master surface tool.
This is sort of related, I'm getting a pair of Silverado bumper guards that were spray painted with a camo paint. I want to remove the paint, hopefully, without damaging the chrome, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hey mike, out of curiosity, what brand clay did you use? I have some VHT nightshade overspray on my black car, and it is driving me crazy! Lol
should you scrub 1 way?or can you just scrub anyway?
Brand new Black 2017 GMC Sierra SLT All Terrain got pelted with industrial paint at a power plant in AZ. Will this work? Thank you. Semper Fi.
This should also work on XPEL clear bra as well? I was spraying clear spray paint on some furniture and the wind blew all the over spray all over my new 4Runner >.
will this work on dupont vinyl and plastic paint on a clear coat
hi autogeek i went on you guys web and looked for that brand clay is it still available if it is can i know the name of the brand your using thank you very much.
How much would you charge for a job this size?
No easy fast way that I know of that is also safe for the paint. Mechanically abrading the overspray off with an aggressive clay is the normal method. Any type of chemical strong enough to chemically dissolve the overspray would also harm the paint. If possible, try to find the source of the problem and see if they have insurance to cover the cost of correction and then take it to a shop and pay someone else to do it. -Mike
CAN YOU USE THE CLAY ON POWDER COATED SURFACE TO REMOVE PAINT OVERSPRAY ?
You an try water but you'll find it doesn't provide as much lubrication as a clay lube and you could scratch your car. Instead, just spring for the clay lube.
