Old myth - sugar have no effect besides being in the tank. It does not dissolve and being filtered out by the pre-filter. Of course if You would fill the tank with sugar it would require coming out, if no problems driving, just leave it.
I'm a detailer, and I didn't even know that you could remove spray paint like this. I'm going to test this a couple times, I may be offering a new service soon!
one thing for the scratches.. before you apply the tape around the scratch and put on touch up paint use a 2500 grit sandpaper opposite the scratch to further hide the scratch at its edges. it drastically reduces noticing it . then after you level the touch up paint and let it cure, polish area again and you'll have to get super close and ro even find the scratch you're one of my favorite channels. pro tips for everyone. thank you. keep it up
Something else to keep in mind "plastic" safety razor blades. I use to use one when I worked at a dealer for removing window paint and stickers off new vehicles. They work great because they contour to the body lines and doesn't damage paint.
hey Chris I just stumbled on all these Chris fix wannabes copying what you do , I'm glad your the one I find with a positive and exciting attitude thats top notch. Plus your family and your dream car series etc. never a dull moment. Thanks

Keep up the good work bro. You're helping millions of people.

Honestly no, this doesn't look like angry actions at all. Paint alone could have looked like random vandalism but mud ? sugar ? If you're angry you're scratching the paint and hitting the panels and windows, not going to the store to buy a rattle can, bring a pack of sugar with you and coldly do weirdly random things that are easily repairable. I'm almost sure this was done on purpose for the video.
People that vandalize cars are really disturbing. I remember the first car I bought - and it was just a used Toyota, so it wasn't an expensive car in comparison to other cars, but it looked nice. People would go out of their way to key it and scratch it up in parking lots. I spent so much time saving for it and people didn't hesitate to try to tear it down. I have never had my car spray painted, but now I know just in case. Thanks for the video.
I'm sorry to hear that, I haven't had anyone so brash as to key my vehicle yet but I've had 2 hit and runs and many MANY door dings "gifted" to my vehicles So I feel you bud
Back in 2009, I got my first car, a brand new Toyota Yaris. The following year, some idiot in the apartment complex I was living in keyed it during the night. Went down past the basecoat and into the primer, so it couldn't be buffed out. My insurance covered the damage, which was $2,800 or so. Brand new car, never been in an accident, and I needed to get several panels refinished at the body shop. P.S. I still have the Yaris.
I agree this level of maliciousness goes way beyond kids being dicks. The sick eff or effs who did this deserve a justice payback. This was way too messed up. eta I love my Toyota so I feel for you, InIm. I don't get being spiteful like that.
In high school I got a 1967 pontiac Lemans, worked on it for years, Senor year got it painted spent 4800 bucks on it in 94. I would park out in NO WHERE land at walmart, shure as shit I would have a car parked on each side with dings in my new paint :(
It was definitely totaled out, the insurance gave the original owner a check. Someone else bought it and couldn’t/wouldn’t want to fix it, then sold it off to chris on eBay.
I don't know how your pull is influencing these totaled/salvage titles in terms of price. It's interesting because your videos really do make us all feel like any of us can do this. (given the space tools and resources). At the end of the day it's your work ethic and concentrated power of will that makes you stand out. I've posted compliments about you before but I feel like it needs to be said. This is good work!
I know you don't pay attention to numbers often, and I respect you for that, but #3 on Trending?! Nice dude! You are with no doubt one of my favorite car channels, keep it up!
This is oddly satisfying. As a kid who started working in my dads body shop 36 yrs ago ( I chose a different career ) I can appreciate the hard work here. Nice job!
I get excited just listening to your excitement in your voice! Some kids keyed out rocked my car and I used your methods to remove the scratches and laughed and said, “take that vandal’s!” 😂 can’t even tell it was there!
Brandon Johnson eh, think I have you beat! 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 with 290,000+ (likely a lot more). Currently has more bare metal spots than there is actual attached paint! It’s one of the years that was affected by the defective primer. So paint is big issue! Add in a failed hydroboost seal! Gotta major Power steering fluid mess under the hood!
I needed to watch this video to get off some old paint that was embedded into my rear and front bumper. I learnt something here and I hope I can fix my problem with some of Chris Fix's ideas. Thanks Chris.
He's is gona install it himself but he cant tune n test them without running his car into dyno ;/ its ok chrix we will wait for lockdown to end completely
@@chrisfix next video, how to install your own dyno in your garage! and theres always custom made tunes from bama, probably cost less than a tuner shop. american muscle sells bama's and you get free unlimited lifetime custom tunes for a few hundred bucks for the tuner itself
A total lie. You are not getting an honest story here. Even the before and after shots are dishonest. There is MAJOR exposure differences in the before and after shots. Look at the ground and anything that is not the car in the before and after shots. Everything around the car is MUCH lighter. The insurance industry is not in business to write off minor damage like this for a total loss. This could have been professionally fixed for $1000.
@@tarstarkusz gasp , you mean to save 1k$ chris employed expensive CGI , movie studio editing and paid actors ? Sneaky ChrisFix , to use those resources to fool us while he is using paid cheap actors (probably joe next door) to fix the car while he reeks the bags of money behind the green screen ...
Also if anybody reads this - DO what chris said, and test the paint thinner first. I had to use some on my car and the original paint hazed up directly. I was able to save the paint, but i sure wasn´t having a good time seeing my paint get "ruined".
I took my car to a panelbeater for a big key scratch (grr). They told me that they wouldn't be able to match the paint for a 2014 Suzuki Swift (silver). With the info about the paint codes in this vid I was able to find a paint match within 10mins. Will be ordering it shortly and looking forward to trying out the simple method you've shown here. Thanks Chris!
@@xStardust That's what I thought. Project farm did a video on sugar in the gas tank and if I recall it did about diddly. Edit: It did carmelize the combustion chamber. It's difficult to know how much they actually got in the tank. I would think maybe dropping the tank and changing the fuel filter would really be all you need. Maybe not even that but without knowing how much is in the tank it's difficult to make a call on what to do.

"is there anything else wrong with the car other than spray paint"

Old myth - sugar have no effect besides being in the tank. It does not dissolve and being filtered out by the pre-filter. Of course if You would fill the tank with sugar it would require coming out, if no problems driving, just leave it.

one thing for the scratches.. before you apply the tape around the scratch and put on touch up paint use a 2500 grit sandpaper opposite the scratch to further hide the scratch at its edges. it drastically reduces noticing it . then after you level the touch up paint and let it cure, polish area again and you'll have to get super close and ro even find the scratch

Something else to keep in mind "plastic" safety razor blades. I use to use one when I worked at a dealer for removing window paint and stickers off new vehicles. They work great because they contour to the body lines and doesn't damage paint.

Chris! Your video was on point! I sprayed my caliper and got overspray on my beautiful black car. I did not know how I was going to get it off. I felt horrible. I searched the web for ways to remove overspray from a car and your video popped up. I followed your steps and started off with the less aggressive option which was alcohol and it did the trick. This wasnt just a random vandalism. This was made with a passion for revenge. Someone cheated.
Ye lol
or its a crazy ex that cant let her bf go.
Or could not make the payments anymore
Honestly no, this doesn't look like angry actions at all. Paint alone could have looked like random vandalism but mud ? sugar ? If you're angry you're scratching the paint and hitting the panels and windows, not going to the store to buy a rattle can, bring a pack of sugar with you and coldly do weirdly random things that are easily repairable. I'm almost sure this was done on purpose for the video.
@JustinBieber Ever heard the song “Before He Cheats?” Yes this happens
People that vandalize cars are really disturbing. I remember the first car I bought - and it was just a used Toyota, so it wasn't an expensive car in comparison to other cars, but it looked nice. People would go out of their way to key it and scratch it up in parking lots. I spent so much time saving for it and people didn't hesitate to try to tear it down.
I have never had my car spray painted, but now I know just in case. Thanks for the video.
Inspecting Immunology that’s disgusting. Hope idiots get jailed
I'm sorry to hear that, I haven't had anyone so brash as to key my vehicle yet but I've had 2 hit and runs and many MANY door dings "gifted" to my vehicles
So I feel you bud

This could have been professionally fixed for $1000.
tarstarkusz shut up it was professionally fixed by ChrisFix 😡

Chris: Is the cars working?

*The car: Has sugar inside the gas tank*
i mean most of the time the sugar does nothing so
@@xStardust That's what I thought.
