@@stco2426 agreed, I don't mind the background noise while spraying, but if i had to choose one, I'd go with the noise cancellation. I don't care for the fan noise in the background.
I really like the noise cancellation when you're talking about important details, it's clearer and more concise. Thank you for always looking to improve the channel.👍
I keep flashing back to those Earl Scheib commercials.."I'll paint any car for 29.95.".... Man, you make it look so easy. Learning tons from you. Thank you!!
My Accuspray I purchased[650.00} around 1990 sprays @ 5-6psi and was fantastic then, And still does an awesome job today. Needles, Tips, And Air Caps is all thats needed. Actually bought 2 Guns, 1 for Base, 1 For Clear. It will last the rest of my spray days, Like the background noise, Makes it Authentic.
No on the noise cancellation Brian. I'll still watch, but I prefer the 'realistic' take on shop noise for all the detail. Plus, to your point about hearing gun tone and knowing how much you're laying down just from that. Great content as always. Cheers
I prefer noise cancelling because there is no fluff in his teaching methods. A barrage of detailed information that requires my complete attention. The guy is incredible.
You are Very much Spot on with what you are talking about !!! 👍 Thank you for sharing this information with everyone who is struggling on how to improve their final product 🙏 !!!
Noise cancellation. I watch a lot of different channels and you are the absolute best. Nothing that you do is half-ass and you are on a whole different plane than the others. Thank you Brian for all the time and money you put in to all your videos. It's amazing!
I'm 73 now, l used to paint cars . I used a jga 502 paint gun . I'd start my color coat off at 30 psi waiting 15 minutes between coats. I would lower the pressure on the second and third coats. Then start my clear coat the same way but started at 27 psi. Dropping it on each coat . I would test the paint and clear on the paper between coats by putting my finger. If a light print was left , I'd add the next coat . Always shiny and smooth as glass
Looks good👍🏻 great advice too. I was a professional painter for 27 years, I used to dread that color because of the time involved in making it happen, I used to shoot Sikkens also for a long time. It was even more of a treat doing it in waterborne too🤦🏻♂️ I always hated using a gauge and would just adjust my guns by sound and feel, definitely not great advice for someone starting out but I couldn’t stand the “clunkiness” and it always worked for me. The only time I halfway used a gauge was with the digital Satas….. until the batteries died lol. Great content🙌🏻
In the mid 90s, I was painting cellulose in the UK, mostly flat colours (so no base coat plus clear), and was anywhere between 45-55psi, using a high end Devilbiss. Just goes to show how things change! Thanks for the time you took to give a masterclass in this, I don't really mind about noise cancelling or not, I'd just come down on the side of yes noise cancelling.
I like the noise cancelation feature. When you are attempting to explain things is so much nicer to be able to hear the important stuff clearly without the unnecessary background noise. Thanks
I like the sound (no filter). It allows me to hear the air flow better / more realistic. Which helps me know what to listen for. If you are doing your initial intro or outtro you can use the filter
You have given me inspiration to do a full color change on my car in candy! Never painted an entire car but am taking my time at every step. Also got one of those inflatable paint booths, I’m trying to give myself the best possible chance😂
First class demonstration! Thank you very much for sharing your top end paint job! It appears to me that you ve surpassed the original paint quality of the car or at last equaled it,total respect,👍👍👍
Noise cancellation with or without for me not an issue, painted for many years myself and as you said “ experience painters can tell by the sound “ that’s what I did , didn’t even use a pressure gauge . Enjoy your videos and have suggested these to people who want to learn.
Thanks ,learnt alot from your tips,I'm an industrial spray painter using airless sprayer pump and have problems in pressure adjustment but will definitely apply that is learnt
This is the first video Ive seen of yours. I'm happy I found your channel. Great video learned a few things which is great. I'm new to painting and have only done a little bit of it. My first blend was on my 1969 Bronco I had to weld up the hood that had a cut out from a large scoop and I had to blend the 18" square cut out repair into the two sides and front nose and still keep the worn patina at the edges. It was very difficult, to do in the 6"-12" blend area, but I had a paint shop owner that didnt believe that I did the repair because I'd the difficulty. I just did some rust repair on the rockers and a 2x2" corner of the drivers door and will be blending again into the worn paint of the upper door and quarters. The goal is to keep truck looking untouched. Thanks for the good content I'll be a regular on this channel. Hope I can learn more.
I would use the top of the fan for blending. Arcing my passes down as I blend back. Finish up with a drop coat on a regular metalic( not a tri-stage). Arcing the top of my fan to match the curve of the panel . Hiding the blend. Have showed a few young painters how to do this. They always thank me for showing them this technique. 😋
Love the cancellation. The info is the key and not competing with background noise is better, especially for the hearing impaired! Ask me how I know! Thx for your concern Brian.
Sokkal jobban szeretem, ha hallani lehet mindent. Én nem kapcsolnám be a zajszűrést. Kell a háttérzaj a hangulat miatt. Tökéletes munkát végeztél a videóban. A levegő cső hiba és a szösz eltávolítása kifejezetten segítő volt számomra. Köszönök mindent! 🙏
Brian,I have learned so much from you I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. As far as the noise cancellation,it makes no difference to me. By the way that paint job is beautiful.
The noise cancelling is a major improvement. To us, air pressure settings are just one of the elements needed for a perfect finish. One spray gun is setup, to us, the most important element is paint viscosity coupled to air & body temperature.
I prefer noise canceling off while you are spraying, even if you are talking. Hearing the environment helps me match that sound when I'm painting. Same goes for speeding up the spraying portion of the video, some of that needs to be at normal pace so beginners understand how fast to move. If you were just speaking, noise canceling can be on to minimize the background but then it almost sounds like a voiceover or some weird AI thing. The result on that repair and your teaching of the process are top shelf. Thanks for asking for our opinion.
Like the noise cancelation it really helps your voice to come through clearly. Great videos very well thought out easy to understand. Wish I could watch some videos on spraying latex paint that were as helpful as yours. Thanks for the sharing of information.
Great job on the blend! And also the tips and tricks too! I'd say for the Immersive experience of being inside a paint booth, noise canceling off. When using headphones I can hear you speak just fine either way. "The learning doesn't stop when the video ends" Thanks Brian
The best spray booth & equipment I ever used was: 1) Positive pressure from above down to flowing water under grids below the car. 3) Paint & thinners mix was measured to the micron & then 'Fyods cup' flow rate tested. 5) The wall were painted with a contact adhering paint that could easily be peeled off when contaminated. 4) The Devilbys was mind blowing to use as it was a gravity spray gun that ran on warm air @ 10 psi. In fact, the only thing you needed to watch for, was 'even spray' over . 5) Then, after spraying, the car was moved into a negative air charged, warm air drying booth for 15 minutes. Unfortunately I was only allowed to spray my own car in this environment. Needless to say, that was the very best result I have ever achieved. Ha-ha The car looked like it had a piece of glass covering it. No polishing needed.Ha-ha
That looks great Brian! I prefer the shop noise personally, you can hear the gun much clearer. i have to save this video for the tough 3 stage blends thank you !
