do coreys ahig voice episode
As great as the IOWA scream was, I'm just glad that he's started using proper technique
Yeah they were pretty sick big it messed up his voice which i think will start to catch up in the future
Even the Iowa screaming had techniques. If you do it 365 days a year, no matter what techniques you use, you will eventually strain your chords and f them up as time goes on. Truth! .. Corey went hard and meant every word! .. you can hear it!
He saved his voice
Dude he was literally sitting down during a recording with slytheryn screaming effortlessly, I don’t buy it ruined his voice I believe the vol 3 and come whatever may bullshit ruined his voice
Look at this! This guy’s getting so many likes! Glad to see it’s a positive comment too! 🙌
Honestly if you think about it he is 47 now smoked probably did a lot of drugs and alcohol toured a lot screamed really hard and intensely and lost his voice back in grey chapter and this man has literally dug his voice back out of him and sounds so good he sounds like the subliminal verses and all hope is gone albums which is a huge step for him considering the previous album he struggled.
I don’t know about y’all but I love how Corey sounds now, especially in the studio recordings for WANYK
though in a liars funeral his screaming/growling parts were so heavy
I highly recommend everyone listens to stone sours 94 demo. Coreys voice is so high pitched its really weird to hear
It is. I covered that part of his career in episode 1. His journey as a singer is quite fascinating.
I agree but he was like 18-19 years old I think possibly he was just a late bloomer in the voice drop department when a person ages. I only say that bc you don’t hear him sing like that often if not at all anymore but I wouldn’t be surprised if the screaming just diminished that level of singing I’m not sure but he has a super unique and amazing voice regardless the condition it’s in
Dude, awesome as always. I'd love to see one of these videos for Jonathan Davis. I remember his vocals went through a bad patch a while ago and he's DEFINITELY a lot lower and more baritone now than in early Korn.
Thanks man! I appreciate that! Davis is interesting for sure! Which is why my second video ever was on him! But it was more biographical I guess which is what it’s titled now. But yes! I definitely agree. And I will be covering him in near future! Hope you keeping safe!
@@saysthemanbehindthemask Thanks man, you keep safe too.
Thanks, will do!
His grow is a lot better these days too.
Let's all just take a minute and realize that this man has as a golden pair of chords and kind of mastered truly emotional screaming (not in the 'emo' sense though, of course): they've survived alcoholism, lots of smoking, sleep deprivation, depression and literal 'shredding' of the chords during the IOWA period... and he can still sing. That alone is enough to state that he's got a really tough pair of chords :p Don't go thinking there was any 'technique' involved in his early, guttural (and his best) screams - it was pure anger, frustration, borderline insanity and lots of alcohol. Nothing sounds more aggressive than Coreys IOWA screams, not even good death metal vocalists come close (they sound more monstrous, but less actually 'aggressive') but you can't make these sounds without literally damaging yourself. It's kind of artsy if you think about it: you're basically literally hearing numbed pain on those records. That's why it sounds so good but that's also why you should not imitate that sound if you care for your voice. I'm glad he can still sing though and also that he lived through his (and their) entire journey, love this guy! It's why I actually didn't start appreciating the vocals on those tracks until I was much older and IOWA was already considered a 'classic' basically - I understood a lot more as I aged.
Any scream you hear (almost) there is a healthy way to make it
I think the self titled 1999 album has better vocals. Iowa doesn't come close to the level of heavy they had during the 90s
@@davidabest7195 you’re high
And he had technique if he didn’t have technique it wouldn’t of sounded more controlled than the s/t era. He ducked up trying to experiment high pitched screams with vol 3 and come whatever may
Corey’s vocals are sooo much better than they were during the .5 tour cycles. I saw them live last year and it was great.
That’s awesome but try watching videos of him instead when u are at a live show you won’t notice as much
The closest vocalist I've heard with a similar level of intensity and emotion present in Corey's (self titled, Iowa) scream would be Chad from Mudvayne (on his first album). Obviously a different sound but I think Chad also had total disregard for his voice on the first Mudvayne album (L.D. 50) and used the same technique (or lack thereof) to achieve such a ferocious scream. I basically learned how to scream from early Slipknot and Mudvayne so I was doing what I call the jumping off a building scream. The kind of scream where you basically use only your throat to produce the scream. While I think it sounds amazing it's obviously not healthy for your voice. You can get scars on your vocal cords and it can make you sound like Corey does in those live shows where he sounded bad. I since learned how to do all the healthy techniques and can kinda sound like I used to but it'll never sound as good as going full force. It's just how it is. I feel like Slipknot actually kinda ruined other "screamers" for me (at least for a while) when they came out back in 99. Until then I was ok with the typical fry screams etc. But after hearing Corey's scream on the self titled and Iowa albums everything else just sounded kinda weak. I think until then I had always assumed that they were actually screaming but then learned what actual screaming sounded like through Slipknot and learned that most other vocalists were fry screaming etc. Those were back in the days when you couldn't just look up how everything is done. Bands were much more mysterious. Now you can learn almost everything about a band and vocal techniques. If you care about your voice it's probably best not to do the "Corey Taylor" scream. But to me nothing compares.
Awesome video. Birth of the Cruel got me into slipknot. I completely missed them as a teenager, just wasnt my cup of tea. Glad they're still around making music!
Thanks I appreciate the compliment! Yes, Birth Of The Cruel is definitely one of my favourites as I mentioned in the video. If you liked this track you should enjoy their first 2 albums. Strange that you didn't like them back in the day as this song is very much old school sounding. Maybe if you give IOWA or Self-titled a listen now you would like it more?
Excited to finally make a new post! Been a while from my last upload. But the current situation around the world was a contributing factor for this delay! This will be a continuation of my series VOICES! And another Corey Taylor episode! CC for English Subs. ;)

This was awesome man!
Hey! Cheers man! It was hard to make but I think it was worth it! Hope you are doing well!
Please do JD-KoRn
I know his scream now and days doesn’t sound like the Iowa scream but he still sounds like that when doing the more false cord driven vocals it still sounds like him.
honestly. when I saw that first show with Jimmy Kimmel. I didn't care about his clean vocals. I just wanted to hear him scream. and I was not disappointed at all.
Did you hear how his voice has sounded recently? It looks like all the rest has helped cause he sounded great during the Rocklahoma show.
Most recent shows… no not yet.
Man, aside this video from being very in-depth, the production quality is just insane.
Keep up the great work dude.
Thank you very much, I appreciate the positive feedback and thanks for noticing the production!
Nothing will ever touch his vocals on Iowa (nobody will ever touch what he did there). That being said tho, I loved wanyk and was so pleasantly surprised with his sound, definitely better than he has sounded in years.
I was looking forward to this one
Great episode man really enjoyed it, nice graphics as well
Thank you Jack! I appreciate it! Glad you liked it! And thanks for noticing the graphics... was not easy to make! Hope you’re keeping safe!
I prefer Corey screams in WNYK
Iowa was strongest but the vocals have hurted him so much. Now he has a better health
Awesome....im glad he is still here with us..
Yes!!! I've been hyped for this for a long time. Such a great way to wrap up the Corey Taylor series. I don't think Corey can replicate the Iowa era in the exact same way again because he's getting older. I can see your point of his deliveries during the Grey Chapter era and the current one of WANYK. Such a significant improvement over the last five years. It shows that giving up bad habits and leading a better lifestyle can and will help you improve as a vocalist. I hope when he and the rest of the band gets back on tour after this crazy social distancing stuff is behind us, he'll give us more amazing performances.
Hi! Glad we agree on this one. It was hard to make as it is such a sensitive topic! I hope you are doing well yourself in these crazy times... Who could have ever imagined something like this would happen in our lifetime. I hope I for a minute managed to get your mind of of all this craziness!
What a perfect video, information, edition, audio, video in itself, ALL IS GOOD hope your channel grow up because you have quality sir
I saw them August 2019 and his vocals were on point the entire show
this video is so well done and your channel honestly deserves more views, I scrolled down and saw 1k and was honestly shocked expecting like 20k
Thank you so much!! Glad you noticed the effort that goes into these videos. Hopefully more people will stumble upon my channel in the near future.
This is so awesome. Have a good day
I appreciate the positive feedback!
Thank you! Have a nice day too!
Very mature assessment at the end, badass video!
Cheers Amon, glad u liked it!
I love the “Learn to scream like Corey Taylor” videos, because they always start with the host saying “Never scream like Corey”
Amazing video quality
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Great video, put together well

Well put together video
Thanks man!!!
Excellent video!
Thanks man! Glad you liked it!
Great info
Thanks! Glad you like it!
this is fantastic. you put a lot of effort into it. appreciate the work! will check out your other vids too. by the way, in my opinion corey 2019/2020 sounds the best since 2002 not since 2008. because in all hope is gone his voice was deep and cool but nowadays it is more aggressive and with grit (with execptions for some gigs) if you for example compare (sic) from rock am ring 2019 with (sic) from download 2009, it sounds more brutal too me. what do you think?
Thanks man! Yup, it was quite a bit of work actually. I'm Glad you liked it! It's true in a sense that Corey was going for this very low sludgy sound in AHIG era but I don't think it lasted very long. I actually did mention that in this video for a brief moment.
When comparing 2019 to 2008 yes he did sound quite brutal at some of the shows back then. According to him he made a conscious choice to go lower on AHIG than he did with Stone Sour and Vol.3 before that. But I think he sounds more stable now even though the sound itself is not as "brutal" as you put it. But actually I spoke about all his previous albums before, so you might be interested to watch them. Even though they are not as well made as this video because they are old. But the information and comparisons are still there. Thanks for dropping by and letting me use some of your content. ;)
Ahig was just low and guttural with low power and stamina. 2020 Corey is pretty much 90% close to Iowa style, when he is healthy/rested.
This video is so fucking underrated. Nice Job!
Thank you! I am glad you like it!
Very interesting!
Cheers! Glad you enjoyed it. I have a couple episodes on Chester Bennington as well. If liked this one you should enjoy the others too
Good video damn I expected u to have way more subs
Thanks man. I’m kinda used to it... effort and production quality on UA-cam in most cases has little value, sadly.
I like when the number 6 goes up and shows the different stages Corey had but the thing I like about it is the first because it’s what Corey looked like on his first show
Yuh, it wasn’t that easy to get that image clearly but I guess it does the job. That animation took ages to render though... even though it seems simple
I grew up with slipknot, self titled and Iowa will always be special in my heart, but knowing they are in a better place mentally and not suffering as much, especially Taylor, id be just as happy to listen to them become a bon Iver cover band if it means they are in a better place, we already have these great albums at our fingertips, i never want them to go through what they did during that time, especially when they recorded the song Iowa. I love this band so much, that i care more about their health than them trying to recreate a sound of when they were in mental anguish and suffering.
Most badass intro
Thanks! Glad you like it!
@@saysthemanbehindthemask yes its my fav slipknot song
The best part of WANYK is that he sounds fucking amazing live as well.
You should do a new episode after their newest album drops. His live performances as of late have been incredible, certainly the best since Iowa
Perhaps it will happen
I'm completely agree
Thanks man! Glad we’re on the same page!
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE SUBSCRIBERS!? the quality of this content is just...BEAUTY!, hope you gain more subs
Thanks! I appreciate the positive feedback. I guess I lack exposure. And a downside of making high quality content in terms of visuals is that it takes significantly more time in comparison to other channels that just do slideshows haha. Because the more content a channels puts out the more likely people will notice. Hard to do with my approach
Damn what a intro :)
Well thank you!

@@saysthemanbehindthemask would be great if you do a video about matt shadows
Saw them last night and to me Coreys voice was perfect bro
I heard that he is doing even better now. But you know seeing them live is a bit different. A lot of distractions and excitement. Seeing a band live always gives you a sort of heightened impression.
@@saysthemanbehindthemask yo very good point bro, imma telling something is wrong with YT for your channel to b so low in subs but Soo high in quality, your my new fave channel bro thanks for the Convo lol
Haha. Yup, UA-cam is funny sometimes and more often than not does not appreciate the extra effort certain channels put in.
@@saysthemanbehindthemask very true bro,and btw when I was at the concert I caught jim roots pick he was playing with it's so dope
Fact: NOTHING will ever top Corey's voice from Iowa.
You're probably right
Corey has sounded great....think his voice is awesome! Pretty sure that quitting smoking helped.
How do you not show any footage from the legendary performance of the disasterpieces dvd? Arguably some of the best work from Corey/slipknot... 2002 was one of the best years imo
Ha! It’s simpler than you think! COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT! It’s an official DVD so showing any significant amount of that footage gets the video blocked in a heart beat! I tried using it in episode 2 and the original was blocked so I had edit Disasterpieces parts out and re-upload! The fact that THIS video is still up is kind of a miracle and probably a temporary one. I am walking a very thin rope to make these videos stay up and be decent
10:29 the way Corey runs 💀
iowa scream is basically just frying your vocal cords that’s the most simple way to say it
he's muuuuch better now than he was back in 2019
Yes i think too that iowa was the best vocal rec's drin him
that intro made me think of a wrestler intro ngl
Do you plan to make a new part on TESF era ? I think that on the album he sounds very « airy » and his screams have no texture. However, the shows are so much better. The best exemple is the live at Resurrection Fest where his voice is very thick and textured.
I was not planning on it but might be worth looking into it with Slipknot getting quite active now again and performing their old stuff live more due to the 25th anniversary of their self titled
I almost like the backing intro track better than the actual studio track haha
what is the intro music??
Nero Forte instrumental. Link in the description
Hey-hope ur well
Great work, his voice has changed drastically
some good -some real bad, but hey he is from Iowa (ha).
Hey! Thanks, yes I am doing alright!
Yup his voice went through so many changes which is why he is the singer I decided to talk about first. Thanks for dropping by and hope you are well and safe. ;)
I know you have done JD in the past-can you re-visit. His solo & then with KoRn
Is insane:::: Take care
I plan to for sure. But it’s hard to say exactly when my UA-cam schedule is pretty crazy 🤣
O melhor show onde tem a voz do corey é live at Ressurection 19
i just wish he knew what to do back in the day...a lot of hardcore bands.. that new york hardcore style do it like then and have been for 20 years some of them
Say what you want about all hope is gone but it’s still my favorite slipknot album for these reasons
1: best quality recording
2: best drum and guitar tones
3: best song writing
4: best guitar solos
5: coreys best screams
6: the last album with the original 9
7: the first vinyl album I ever owned
I don’t know man… AHIG is my least favourite record of theirs… I can only agree that it’s the last album with original 9. Which is crazy when you think about it… but yuh… I tried getting back to it several times but it just does nothing for me… especially I don’t like that Corey started to sound very similar to what he did with Stone Sour on this record… not the screams so much but his singing kinda became like rather basic hard rock
@@saysthemanbehindthemask gray chapter is the worst in the catalog in my opinion. For me it goes
1: All Hope Is Gone
2: Slipknot
3: Iowa
4: Volume 3
5: WANYK
6: The Gray Chapter
The gray chapter is the worst in my opinion because Corey’s screams sounded awful, the guitars are too crunchy, the drum tones are too much bass and no punch, the bass tone sucks, but the writing was really good. There isn’t such thing as a bad slipknot album, but all hope is gone is my favorite from a quality standpoint. The guitar amps sound the heaviest, the writing was more relatable, and the drums Joey played sounded better then his playing itself, making the drum parts also the best on any slipknot album, however all slipknot albums are beautiful in a disturbing way and that’s what i love about the band
Interesting ranking. I would have to agree that The Gray Chapter is probably the worst in terms of production… I don’t remember that album that well though since I kinda checked out from Slipknot because I did not like AHIG… but I remember hearing “The Negative One” and liking that it sounded more like their old school stuff. Corey’s voice though… was probably at its worst at that time sadly… on AHIG he surely sounded better. But my top 3 records would probably be their first 3 releases in order they were released with WANYK being as good as Vol.3 or maybe in some ways better than Vol.3. With AHIG I don’t know… many songs feel very uninspired to me, especially Dead Memories doesn’t feel like Slipknot at all…
@@saysthemanbehindthemask regardless, they have an impressive catalog of beautiful chaotic destruction. Rock on my guy 🤘🤘
True that! 🦾🤘
The last show they did was incredible best he very done the crazy pitched grows and high octave screams sounded as good if not better than iwoa even heatd him di a scream like alex terrible witch ive never heard him do before he killing it at 50 i hope he keeos on a incline from now on
I think so many ppl regard his singing/screaming now as very similar to ‘01 Corey screams only bc the sound is still there. I just think age and emotional peace has diminished that intensity some. it just doesn’t sound as powerful or as if all the rapid voice/scream ranges that were there before have gone. If you could use an example it’s like Iowa Corey sounds double backed voicing even live. Now it just sounds like he goes and records w no engineering or production done to his voice (when it comes to that raw intense sound you hear from Iowa)
Y'know
When his voice doesn't seem good its when he's sic
I think it would be cool if his son did a song with him. They sound very similar. Maybe griffin would be more brutal because he is younger?
Hmmm... not sure if it works like that. He doesn’t seem to have that huge neck of Corey... also important he was living a very sheltered life in comparison to Corey... there is just no way the kid is gonna have that vicious angry outlook on the world. And I think Corey would tell him not to scream like that from his own experience
The reason he sounds so much better back then is because he was actually screaming where as now he’s doing proper technique screaming which has a slightly different sound.
Well fuck, lol I should’ve watched the next 5 minutes before typing this 😂
I don’t hear any vol 3 in wanyk I’d say mostly
The dark tone of all hope is gone
The sound effects of self titled
The lyrics/lyrical flow of iowa/ahig
Red flag is my favorite it is a healthy blend of iowa and self titled
I feel like one thing is that corey is alot older now
Yes, but he was going through drastic changes way back in 2004 with the release of Vol.3... so age thing is not an exclusive reason for his voice change throughout the years.
It’s the same screams as Iowa (false cord), but less power and breath support, as can be expected with age. Also, Iowa had a little “tighter” distortion, almost like a fry scream.
This is the best Corey had sounded since Iowa. Fact. It blows away AHIG and .5 (I’m not including Vol. 3 because it’s a completely different technique).
He may not be able to do it consistently, but go to the 4:20 mark of the video I linked if you wanna here Iowa Corey in 2019. Compare it to Summer Sonic when he says “Are you ready” at the beginning of the show. Nearly identical.
m.ua-cam.com/video/Ke7WaXgkOqE/v-deo.html
His voice always pounds strained like the 2015 shows etc when he does too many shows in a row. It’s always happened and was happening again because they had toured for months on end
I personally get more reminiscent of Iowa with red flag and orphan those give me the vibes idk if it’s just me everything else sounds like from a slasher movie still cool tho
actually I think it's possible to scream rough and literally like a demon when a person is being drunk and smokes a lot of cigarettes etc...I mean...my uncle who used to smoke a lot and drank whole lot of beer and vodka(he quit everything by now of course)had really deep bass and rough voice and believe me,his screams were scary af....but like now he wouldn't be able to do that....ain't it like when you're drinking and smoking a lot your throat is tearing apart although drunk person doesn't feel it.So I guess Corey of course damaged his vocal cords even back then but now he would know it hurt because he ain't drinking and smoking anymore...
Yuh I covered that... not sure if in this or in previous episode probably in more detail. There are 4 episodes on Corey. As you said sensation of discomfort is gone when a person is drunk so screaming with your vocal chords seems fine but the aftermath may be quite severe.
When they went to Mexico he sounded groggy and dry also when he screamed
I love both voices but the iowa screams live were legit godly. Corey's voice now live doesn't sound good. Disasterpieces concert 2002 was a perfect performance.
Did you watch the BBC concert? He says that they played the night before, and that's why he sounds rough. Of course he's not going to sound fresh
The clips from that show are in this video
He had a cold when he did Maida Vale.
Yup... I figured as much

NECK
on his live show on jimmy kimmel he had surgery and he wasn't feeling well he said so that effected his screams on all out life his screams sound alot better on jimmy kimmel
I mentioned that he had double knee surgery in 2019... soooo yuh...
Wow.. I never thought I'd hear someone match my opinion of Coreys voice over the years and how rubbish for example some of these IOWA comparisons are + the fact that the .5 touring cycle was quite the rough one to say the least in terms of how Corey sounded. I feel as if the whole band was kinda off and seemed just tired during the .5 area. WANYK however really sparked another fire in all of them it seemed and their live shows really had a kick to them again.
Glad we agree this rather sensitive topic. Thanks for the positive feedback!
My guess is it has something to do with his smoking.
For sure contributed to the problem!
Of course his vocals are going to be different. You're comparing him to performances and recordings that happened 20 years ago. Personally, I think he sounds great now. Brutal, but he has more control now.
Well that's obvious. I think I did point his age out and other circumstances. Regardless there are plenty of examples where singers' voices don't change in such a drastic manner... also his voice in 2001 and in 2004 sounded waaaaay different... and there is no 20 years gap obviously. I covered his entire singing career on these series... so yuh... but he is for sure an unusual case which is why I think he was interesting to talk about. And I believe I did mention that he does sound good now all things considered.
No one ever seems to point this out, but if you go back to 2016 knot fest in Japan, Corey has maybe the best screams he’s EVER had. Just watch his heretic anytime performance from that time.
It’s hard to believe but I will check it out
I don't really think the Iowa screams, by itself, is what nearly killed his vocal chords. More like how OFTEN he just screams back in the day, going tours after tours without any breaks and also some substance abuses.
You CAN do the Iowa screams, yes it'll hurt like hell after a couple or hell just a single song, but with enough rest and being healthy, it's safe enough.
Yes, but it’s unrealistic for most bands to just let’s say scream a couple of times per week! Most bands tour like crazy. Overuse has a lot to do with many metal singers having issues with their voices in the long run. If we are speaking about a more casual touring approaching than, yes I agree one could get away with a sloppy screaming technique.
Iowa is the reason his voice sounds so strained and empty on Vol.3. Corey reckons it was an intentional change but i think after recording and touring both Iowa and the first Stone Sour album, he just couldn't do it.
So it would seem. It sucks that he never came out and admitted how hard touring was with that scream of his during those early years. I think he’s too macho for that. So instead he said it was all intentional. Then again he was probably stoned or drunk during most of the touring back then. But as you said on Vol.3 his screamed sounded totally fried even in studio setting.
5:35 wow years of alcohol and drugs does that to your voice while you scream your ass off in the 90's does that to your voice! crazy who knew?
Doesn't sound anymore greater than 2001's
The reason why his scream is getting better is because he stoped smoking after the grey chapter
Yes, I did mention that in the video as well.
Yeah I saw that after I commented
sees the likes are at 666...decides not to like because its only right...lol
No! Lol! Break the cycle!
I think vol 3 showed how Iowa affected his voice. He sounds a lot better not. More throaty and full….like he quit smoking cigs or something
He did quit smoking. It’s in the video
You are comparing an outdoor concert to an indoor unsainted
I think there is overall plenty of both indoor and outdoor shows to get a point across. From this point of view every show will have a slightly different sound but I am sure they a professional enough engineer in their team to get the best sound possible out of every venue.
I know I’m two years late to be commenting on this but in regards to the Jimmy Kimmel performance people who were there at the shows said his voice sounded absolutely amazing but because it was recorded horribly with horrible mixing, it came out sounding like shit
Man, I can't Imitate Iowa Voice, mit Screams are a mix of self-titled and wanyk
Everyone these days sounds like they are some sort of master producer! LOL. . . . What have you done lately? You try screaming a DAY nevermind all year long ! ...
Don’t assume you know me bud. I have been screaming since I was about 17 up until I was 21. And I know what bad technique can do to one’s voice... first hand. Not by theorising and contemplating I just did it. I have been studying vocalists since I was 15 and until now... I am in my early 30’s now. So I don’t do surface level analysis about singer’s voices I followed their careers for many years and to cover Corey’s voice alone I made 4 videos which amount to about an hour of content. Corey was the first singer I noticed to have a drastic change in his voice back in 2004 which is why he was the first singer I wanted to cover. Here’s what I have done - thorough research at the very least... and fyi there are plenty of screamers who have done this for longer than Corey did and their voices are still in tact, so there is a method and technique to screaming in a safe matter. Regardless I believe I have done fair work, with fair arguments and with respect to Corey Taylor, who’s work I have admired for a very long time. I bet you didn’t even watch the entire video and just jumped to conclusions... so I think it’s safe to say this channel is not for narrow minded people like yourself who idolise artists unconditionally. Just move on.
I might be in the minority here but I was not a fan of Iowa when it came and to me it is the least favorite album
I kind of understand actually. In terms of song writing Self Titled was far superior and way more raw. Iowa was a little more calculated and mature I suppose. Apart from some of the strongest songs on Iowa it’s not as good as Self Titled and I actually remember being kind of disappointed back in the day when I heard it for the first time. But Disasterpiece, left behind, new plaque, everything ends, skin ticket, people=shit, heretic anthem and Iowa really make that record stand out. The rest of the record is just not that memorable unfortunately. Still it’s some of their best work but of course it’s just my point of view. But I understand where you are coming from
Seriously pls do not try to replicate Corey Taylors Iowa Screams. Your voice is gonna die. My one did and im Still hoarse since a week now. Im in fear it could get worse.
Yuh… dangerous! But you know… a lot of the stuff he does can be achieved by experimenting with your voice… and yes there is a risk of messing it up but from my experience you have to go REALLY far to get permanent damage to your vocal chords. Just give yourself sometime to recover and try not to be too anxious. It’s normal not to get the screaming technique right away.
Dont worry about it to much i did it for short periods of time just to experiment there is a way to do it with damage it about not over protecting witch is harfer said than done and my voice feels better after 2 days but its talking after and not letting your voice recover fully is the killer and drinking herbal tea alot helps i found if you want sound like iowa you did to do your diligence first and build up your voice for years to achieve then thick heavy grows and high octave pitches screams that do did a lot but for some reason people overlook for his lows but some of em highs he did where just as great
