Great video! I just got an Albo rooted cutting. When you said 60-70% humidity, I paused the video refilled my humidifier and closed the window. Hahaha.

root rot is real. Just today, I had found my fairly young thai constellation that I hydro spiked when I went away on vacation had root rot. It looked healthy on top but when I pulled it, 90% of my roots were rotted. Your comment about never hearing of someone killing their monstera by drying out struck a loud chord. Hopefully my thai is not lost. I have it now in a vase of water and hope it pushes new roots. Keep videos like this coming. Thx!
Oh no! I hope you were able to catch it early. For root rot, I cut off all rotted and questionable parts, rinse with a soap solution, then let the roots dry out and callous in air for a day. Then you can recover in moss or water. Best of luck!!
@@alpina4115 this is untrue. If you do exactly as Legends of Monstera said and cut off all the affected roots and then clean the rest of them, you are effectively eradicating the root rot and starting your plant's growth from scratch. As long as your nodes are in tact, it's still has many chances of growing back (in fact, the chances of it growing back is the quantity of the nodes on your plant). This is how propagation works. This is how many collectors get more plants out of just one. Hopefully you never have to propagate out of desperation. If you're lucky you propagate for fun instead of out of fear of losing your plant, but sometimes this happens and you just have to know how to start from scratch.

Really appreciate your advice on monstera and aroids, as well as your videos on root rot and Japanese greenhouse / rare plant collector tours! I’m in Colorado with an Albo that’s been growing and thriving in 10-20% humidity for the last 6 mo. Surprisingly no browning or crisping in lower humidity even though it lives in a terracotta pot. I occasionally run a humidifier so the room it lives in gets to 30-40% about 2-3 days per week. Maybe I should expect the plant to lose more water through transpiration as it’s surface volume increases? Although in that case it’s root system would also be larger and (hopefully) able to compensate. It would be interesting to hear if you’ve noticed the crisping occurs more readily in larger plants. I’ll keep an eye on mine, maybe I’ve just been lucky thus far. Thanks again for your amazing videos!
Thanks for all your tips. Gonna move my albo a little deeper into my balcony. I live in Singapore and I have high humidity all year long and do have to watch out to make sure soil is dried before watering. High humidity makes the soil stay moist for a longer time. Love the video 💚. What i found that is working the best for me with my monsteras varigated or not, is semihydroponics. Thank you so much for this video! I have my albo cutting in water at home trying to promote roots but I’m going to rush home and fix it! I really want it to do well since it’s the most expensive plant I’ve bought. I will be implementing all of your tips and hope it goes well!
Stacey, it is... still hanging in there... kind of... I have tried a variety of things, still no roots, but I was able to stop the root rot from spreading. Right now it’s in my “plant hospital” - cloche with orchid mix/spaghnum moss mix, humidifier right next to it, grow light on it since it’s winter, heating pad on and off since it’s near a cold window. 😭 PLEASE LIVE!
Awesome video! Just picked up my first Constellation plant and Albo cutting w/roots today! I lived in LA for years, moving back next year! Thanks for the tips!
Eurgh, the albo are so fussy. I've got a cutting I'm trying to root and the rot struggle is real. Never had such a fussy cutting as this, would definitely go for a rooted cutting in future. But great video!
Yes. It's definitely one of the divas of the aroid family. It's hard for me to think of a plant that requires so much caution and attention. I'll be doing a video on propagation within the next few months, depending on my work schedule lol. Thanks for watching!!
Hope your cutting is doing well a month on after writing that comment! If you still haven't made significant headway in rooting, you could look into applying heat to the root area. I root cuttings on top of my aquarium lights that run pretty hot. You can also buy seedling mats or reptile heating mats. Hope you don't need it, but handy to root cuttings in general. Good luck!
So i got an albo cutting a few months ago, i placed it in my windowless bathroom unser a grow light. Did perfecly fine for a few months. Grew two more leaves one is like 70% white the other one 50% . Thank you so much for this informative video. This is the best video I have ever watched on You Tube so far! *** I have a question? On Monstera Variegta species like the Albo or any Extreme variegated Monstera species…..” Do they like to be misted with a spray bottle daily or if ever? “ it is something I want to know once and for all. Also, is diluted been oil sprays ok to use on Varigeted species? What type of pesticide/chemical should I NEVER use? Thank you for your kind response.
I just bought my first Albo! It’s coming in an unrooted cutting with ridiculously long aerial roots with 5 leaves. Four of the leaves have variegation (not much) and the fifth and newest leaf has none. It was sold as possibly reverting. How do you go about reversing reverting? The seller told me to observe the next two or so leaves, and if they have no variegation to cut the plant back down to when the last Variegated leaf was put out. I can’t wait for it to get here! But the aerial roots are so long I’m going to have a hard time figuring out how to start rooting it 😅 I have a normal Monstera on the opposite wall of an east facing window and is doing great! It’s getting some rays from my grow light I have up for my SOH. I’m going to be moving the normal monstera to another spot and putting the Albo in its place so it gets some grow light rays.
I would give the same advice as your seller. Just gotta wait and cross your fingers, and cut it back to the highest variegated part if it does revert. Light does not affect variegation.
Hi Jimmy .. Firstly i think this clip is so fantastic .. Thank you so much .. May i ask , I see that your Monstera Albo plants has got a plate .. Is it constantly watered ? Thank you
I have a soil mix that I use for most of my leafy tropical plants (read: calatheas), so in theory it should be good for a monstera albo but the plant is incredibly expensive so I'm paranoid about it. My mix has calcined clay, pumice, perlite, expanded clay, coconut hussts, pine bark, and cotton compost. Idk what the measurements of it are, but I'm so paranoid that I'm going to kill it lmao
Hi from the UK I've just got a verigated monstera. She's in my bathroom on an east facing window. I have my LED lights of most of the day as my window is near another house. And doesn't get much lights. Do you think i should move her? I do have a nice South facing winds. Need some advice. Thank you great video. :)
I’m so glad you made this video! I’m currently battling root rot with an Albo cutting I got. I’m not sure the best way to go about it, but I hope it bounces back.
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, albo cuttings are tough for sure. I'm going to make an episode about propagating cuttings as well as on dealing with root rot, hopefully sooner than later as my schedule allows. Actually, I can probably do a short one on root rot this week. Give me a few days!
Hey thanks for the tips and a great video! I'm wondering which direction is that very large window facing that your albo is 3 feet away from? I see it's near the neighboring building anyway, but just curious :) Thanks!
Thanks Mate I will be going through your videos 😁 when I bought my plant a couple of leaves had brown edges which I’m assuming got burnt from the sun as it was in direct sunlight at the market. Is this an issue?
hi! nice video!just got a variegated cutting whit wax on it, should i remove it when putting in hydro to radicate or i have to remove that? the cut have very good aerial roots
WOW! This was so helpful!!! I have a question. I am about to purchase a cutting with two big leaves and just barely the start of a root. Do you recommend I place it in water until roots form? Thank you!
I don't know how many times I've watched this video. Decided to splurge and get an Albo cutting... had planned to root it in the mix you suggested but in a plastic pot only because it's easier for me to judge how dry it is versus a clay pot. How do you handle the roots adhering itself to the clay pot when it comes time for you to repot? I always found that to be a PIA; so I grew my orchids in plastic pots, too. Thanks.
Hi Jimmy , nine to meet you here . Hey , I just got my monsters variegation albo. That for whole plant 2 feet tall with two plants 11 leaves . At first came I put them water over a night and I reported it . But about a 5- a week it seem like not look right then I put them in water ( a lot of roots ) then I reported again in clay ball ( semi- hydro) two days now but the leafs look as long as longer drier and curl. Please help !
Hey!! Is there any way you would be able to make a video of buying a cutting online- and then what to do? I just bought a monstera Albo and it seems like what is suggested is to put it in moist moss... but I think the tip of my root (I bough a lead and the one root is about 4 inches long) came rotted. I don’t know if I should cut off an inch, or what to do. Help!

Good evening, I just got an albo and is not in the best condition. I got it at a real good price. It does have 2 leaves that don't look so good but there is also a new leaf coming out. I am pretty sure it's only in potting soil. The person I bought it from said don't transplant yet. I am in Florida and we had a lot of rain and looks too wet to me. Do you think I can repot in the new mix or should I wait?
?? What would make a split leaf philodendron stems to become mushy and then wilt? I checked the plant for root rot and the roots are beautiful. So I repotted and hoping for the best.
Do you keep your moss pole wet? How do you keep it moist without watering the soil? I made one out of coir and I tend to neglect spraying it with water purely because I’m lazy and it takes a lot of time for it to absorb so I’m standing there spraying and spraying
Need some help. I bought a thai constellation cutting on ebay in september 2020. One large leaf, good node. It has not grown at all, just sits there. I checked the roots they are not rotted, have it under a grow light but nothing. I let it dry and then water it. I'm in Florida so I recently put it outside in bright shade, some sun. Question: I had a ginny monstera that was doing the same thing, and I stuck it in water for a while and now it has really taken off, Should I do the same with the thai cutting? Thanks, I hope you answer, I've asked other youtubers but they don't respond. I've been in touch with the grower and he's been helpful but doesn't know why it's not growing, he grows them.
I use 1/4 soil, 1/4 perlit, 1/4 orchid mix and 1/4 cocos coir ist that oke? My Thai came with I think a bit root rot on the aerial root and also don’t know what to do because it’s on the stem at the root
Tips for reversing dehydration on a cutting? Its arial root was rotted when I recieved it so I had to cut it. It's got a few nodes where new ones will emerge (I've "air layered sphagnum around them and crossed my fingers.) However I've noticed her stem is wrinkling and 2 of 4 leaves are curled a bit...
thanks bro, super helpful! just got an albo stem cutting and been wondering what to do with it when eventually i move it out of the small pumice mix its in when neough roots to repot. cheers
Oh, actually if you are having good success with your rooting method, just continue and then move to a well draining mix when you feel it has enough roots 🤗
@@LegendsOfMonstera thanks a lot for yoru reply! slowly making my way through all of your content, it's been super helpful. so far the new shoot has popped out of the stem and it's grown about 1CM in the past 6 days, so i dont' want to disturb it until its root bound there and i have no other choice haha. at that point i'll be following your guidelines for the next stem in its journey :)
I just got a cutting of a thai constellation monstera and planted it in potting mix about a week ago...it already has roots from sitting in water for a couple months. is it ok to re-pot it at this point? I have orchid mix I could mix with it
Hi Jimmy! Big fan of your amazing and educational videos. I heard fertilizing variegated monsteras can cause it to revert back to all green. Is that true and do you fertilize? If so what do you use and how often do you fertilize in growing and non-growing season??
Hi. I have not heard of issues with fertilizers reducing variegation from personal experience or any reliable sources. I also don’t recognize any scientific merit to that claim. I do fertilize about once a month or two, but honestly I have no idea if it’s worth doing. A lot of very experienced aroid growers don’t use fertilizers at all, while others swear by it. I personally have not been convinced of its necessity, at least in the aroid world. I think a lot of fertilizer practices are extrapolated from other plants, vegetables, and fruit trees, where fertilizers have shown benefit.
Hi! I just bought an Albo for myself and your video was very helpful as its my first variegated plant ever! I just had one question, do you recommend watering from the bottom? And you just got a new subscriber from France, have a great day☺️
Hi! Love your cheese and butter 😂😂. I don’t have any particular thoughts on bottom watering. I don’t do it and I don’t personally know anyone who actually does.
I dont want to use an humidifier for may monstera variegata. Would it be enough if I just spray the plant (leaves and moss pole) with destilled water every day? the humidity level in my home is around 50%. If I spray around the plant, the humidity climbs up to 61%
I really enjoyed your video. Thank you for posting. I have a quick question. I have a variegated albo leaf that is newly emerging. Due to shipping it turned brown and now the leaf is stuck and has not emerged in weeks. Should I cut off the new growth or just wait til the leaf finally unfurls?
Hello! Thank you for this amazing video and all of the others! So, I have a young Monstera Albo Variegata, and I wonder if cocopeat is a good soil for it since you mention it should be and airy type of soil.
Hi Doc. Need your advise. I accidentally left my monstera inside my car. When i returned to my parking area, the plant is already sun burned. :( What to do now? I let them cool down. Didnt touch them for a week. I want to repot them to see the status of their roots. Help.
I'm jealous of your Monstera Albo. Mine is reverting back to green leaves. I've had 4 leaves that came out just green. How do I revert it back or can I still revert it back to get the white variegation again?
It might need more light (no direct sunlight). Only the green parts are able to absorb light, so if it's placed too dark, it produces more chlorophyll.
Just chopped my thai constellation yesterday. I also chopped some of the roots because they’re very large and healthy. Will the chopped roots also grow shoots eventually? I think the answer is yes but I’m just worried that I did the wrong thing because I haven’t seen videos or articles about growing from thai constellation chopped roots. Thanks!
Hey Jimmy! Great video! What are your thoughts on soilless mixtures for your VM? I’ve switched over to 50/50 peat moss and perlite at the urging of a few self-proclaimed experts. Would love to hear your thoughts!
By "soil" I assume you mean potting soil. In this day and age of tons of fertilizer options, the only benefit of potting soil is that it's something to help retain water. Without something that retains moisture (like say you decide to pot your plant completely in pebbles), the water will drain away very quickly and you'll have to water pretty darn often or else your plant will dry up. This is fine if you live in the tropics or have a greenhouse setup where sprinklers go on every few hours every day. Since most of us don't have these conditions at home, we need something that holds some water. However, regular potting soil does this job too well, and holds too much water, and thus we run into root rot often. It's perfectly fine to remove this component completely as long as you replace it with something that holds enough water for your environment and watering schedule. Peat moss works well I believe, but I haven't played around with it enough to tell you how different 50/50 peat moss and perlite compares to 50/50 potting soil and perlite. The basic principle that I feel most indoor planters should have is that any moisture retaining component you pick should be 50% or less of the total mixture unless you try that and your plant tells you it's too dry. You will also need to figure out your fertilizer schedule as well given that neither peat moss nor perlite provide any nutrients.
I bought a cutting that was rotting at the bottom, I monitored if for the past month, moved it from sphagnum to water and it decided to finally start growing its aerial roots but one of the leaves died off so cut the rotted stem off, waxed the bottom and is now in a vase with sphagnum moss. wish me luck :/
Hi Jimmy, new subscriber here. When you’re showing your Thai Constellation, I noticed that some of the leaves are cut off partially, did you cut it off? If yes, why is that? Can I also do that to any monstera plants? Thanks. :)
I have a v. Monstera that has a leaf still developing in the petiole, but it has gone brown. I have checked the roots for rot but they look healthy and have grown since I last potted it up. I'm curious as to where to go from here and how/ if the plant will continue to grow.
May I ask what direction is your window? I am wondering if I will have success with a large North facing window (I am in Vancouver Bc) if my plant is right up against the window. The sun will never hit directly so it will always be indirect light. Thanks for the great video
The large window is facing west. The light coming is "filtered" by a large condo building lol =) I think a north facing window would do great for you! Cheers!
Hi!!!! I have two monstera deliciosa and I don’t have a lot of light in the place where they are! Can I put a bright LED grow light above them? Will it help? Will it burn?!! Aghhh I cannot find info anywhere 😭😭😭 I use grow lights on a few other plants including some Urban Leaf lights on my bird of paradise but with the pandemic the only ones I could get this week were Feit Electric non dimmable grow lights. They’re very bright! Will they hurt the monsteras?! love your videos!! Please help! :)
I really like your straight-forwardness and I totally agree with you, so I left a subscription. BUT, since a lot people are complaining about how their variageted plants revert back, I want to highlight the fact, that light is one of the fundamental factors to preserve the variagetion. If it stands too dark, it's normal for it to become more green, since the white parts can't absorb light. The intensity of light depends on the place you live, the placement of your room (ground floor, higher floor), the season, the orientation of the window, how far is the plant placed from it, are there curtains... and so on. I just want people to actually think about, why their plants act the way they do.
Thanks for following along. However, that light affects variegation in aroids is a myth. It is not true. Light, high or low, intense or not, does not affect/promote/prevent variegated plants reverting.
I need to do a video to bust this myth but I haven’t gotten to it with the other content coming out. But I’ll try to get one out in Jan or Feb. This is a misconception is keeps getting propagated. Cheers!
@@LegendsOfMonstera I'm looking forward to it, so thanks for your hard work! It's logical to me, that 'some' variageted plants do have this "survival technique" of turning green due to lack of sunlight, more green=more photosynthesis. I say this, because I experienced it with my 9y old (now almost green) photos, ~4m away from the windows. The cuttings from a broken branch placed on a windowsill, produced new variegated leaves after sh*tloads of time. I'm testing this with a Photos Manjula and a Philodendron Brasil atm, the others are way to expensive to do experiments. 😄 Time will tell... ^^
Hi! My monsters deliciosa came in a grow pot that was too small, so I went up a size and it has been growing great, many new leaves! I have it under a light bc I don’t get good sun and it has grown several split leaves and is beautiful. I realized after watching your videos that i pitted it in the wrong soil (potting soil), so I redid it in the orchid bark mix soil you recommended this week. When I took it out, I saw that it’s roots have grown intensely and it’s already curled at the bottom of the pot a bit, like the roots were in the shape of the pot. Is that ok? I’m afraid to repot again, but...maybe it needs a bigger pot? Do they like being slightly door bound?! Help!!
They do like being root bound but getting a pot that is 2 inches wider than the root ball or previous pot size. You should be good as long as the roots like white/pale and fuzzy. If they’re dark/black or shriveled then it may have some root rot
Can you say more about the leaf curls? I just received mine yesterday, roots are dry and no rot but leaves are curled inwards or downwards. Does that mean it needs more water?
Yes usually if the roots are good, a good watering should improve the leaves. Just make sure the soil is appropriate because much easier to solve leaf curls than root rot.
Legends Of Monstera my soil is currently made up of: a layer of leca beads on the bottom of the pot, and the soil composition is a tiny amount of coir, orchid bark, perlite, charcoal, and earthworm casting. I watered her (but was so afraid of being thorough in case!) and the leaves are still curling. Do I continue to water?
Great video! I just got an Albo rooted cutting. When you said 60-70% humidity, I paused the video refilled my humidifier and closed the window. Hahaha.

Great video. Love how you explain things in a straight-forward, easy to understand manner.
I'm still trying to get a Thai Constellation and finding it hard to get shipping to Canada. I will definitely watch your moss pole video which I know my big green monstera would enjoy.
Thanks so much for watching Barb! Yes, Canada seems to have less sources for aroids than the US. Hope you find your thai soon!
I feel you on the struggle of finding Monstera thai . I have been looking for the mint Monstre the stuggle is rea and the cost WOW don't think I need to tell you about that lol ;..D good luck on your hunt and i really hope you find the one for you :D .
Hi! I just ordered a Thai constellation through mail and it’s coming with the roots in moss. How long should i leave it in the moss before potting it ? Do i put the moss in water or just mist it ? Thanks for the info !
Most plants are shipped in moss because it's lighter than soil and also helps preserve the roots. You can just pot it =)
which website did you order from?
Hi which website do you buy?? Please i badly needed it for my girlfriend
Thanks,very informative about monstera albo.
Thank you so much for this video! I have my albo cutting in water at home trying to promote roots but I’m going to rush home and fix it! I really want it to do well since it’s the most expensive plant I’ve bought. I will be implementing all of your tips and hope it goes well!
You are most welcome! You’re going to do great. Just remember, when in doubt... don’t water haha. Thanks for watching and joining us.
How is your cutting doing one month later?
Now it starte rurning translucent at some Spots and some of it starte turning brown . Its bigging tue hell out of me.
Just got a humidity meter to check if its to dry .
Maaaan, i eve had a divuser runnig next to it....
Thank you
Enjoyed video. Does a thai con need a stake ? I finally broke down and bought a small one. Hope I don't regret it
Amazing video but I can't help but point out it's 'wick' not 'whisk' and 'err' not 'error'.
Thanks! Love your stuff!
very useful video. i have so many monsters i am not sure if you. seen. it. and yes i use the soil like that too i think i shoukd of use more brakes.
Yeah I like bark a lot. I feel it prevents soil compaction
I really like your videos :) you have a very nice voice and it is "easy" to listen to you for many videos :D
Are cement pots okay? I really like the cook of them.
Thanks for your advice. I’m new monstera Albo mama. I hope I don’t kill it
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your precious, precise, wise, logical fundamental suggestions! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌺🙏🏼😊
Legends Of Monstera I can’t wait!! 😊
I made the root rot video with your inspiration haha. Hope it was helpful, and timely!!
@@LegendsOfMonstera it was perfect, thank you so much!!
Hey thanks for the tips and a great video! I'm wondering which direction is that very large window facing that your albo is 3 feet away from? I see it's near the neighboring building anyway, but just curious :) Thanks!
Great video mate! I just bought one and it’s so beautiful and darn expensive. I don’t want to kill it 😂
You'll do great! I also did a soil for monstera video that may be helpful as well. Cheers!
Thanks Mate I will be going through your videos 😁 when I bought my plant a couple of leaves had brown edges which I’m assuming got burnt from the sun as it was in direct sunlight at the market. Is this an issue?
Saaaaame 😂😂😂
hi! nice video!just got a variegated cutting whit wax on it, should i remove it when putting in hydro to radicate or i have to remove that? the cut have very good aerial roots
Thanks.
You would likely have to soak and break the clay pot 😅.
What should be the ideal temperature in the winter? I live in San Francisco and the temperature at home can go down to 55F at night.
Great Video! any suggestions on where to buy one? (Monstera Thai Constellation)
Really helpful! Thank you for sharing
I'm crying in 20-40% humidity in Alberta lol I wish I had that kind of humidity lol
I'm at 88% natural humidity right now.. lol
@@vanzarliana Where do you live? I bought a humidifier so the humidity at my place has been in the 45-60% range.
Great info! Still waiting to get my first Albo or Constellation... but going off to learn how to make a moss pole in preparation!
Preparation is the key to success lol! Cheers!
I got my first constellation yesterday 😍 she is so beautiful! I also have Albo and it is making new leaves 💚
Thanks for the info Dr Jimmy Monstera, super helpful for an beginner 👌
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for joining us =)
Help!
Maybe this one helps: Ep 42: Japanese Variegated Monstera | Care & Buying Tips for Cuttings | Rare Plant Haul & Unboxing ua-cam.com/video/4hFnX6CoGj8/v-deo.html
@@LegendsOfMonstera Haha well I watched that one, I don't exactly know what is best once you open up the cutting. Put it in water? Plant that cutting right away? Put it in moss?
if indirect light is preferred, what does that mean in the way of growth lights? I live in Minnesota so have to supplement with grow lights in the winter because we don't see the sun for long periods of time.
This video was so helpful, thank you!!
Thanks for this informative and helpful plant care content :) Plant neophyte here!
Thanks and welcome! Happy holidays!
I am considering to get a thai constellation. This is helpful.
Hello, what would you recommend once the plant outgrows the existing moss pole? Do you change the moss pole completely? How about the roots?
No, I let it dry out. The moss just lets the roots attach faster and also allows the plant to be more easily removed. No need to keep it moist.
Legends Of Monstera thanks! Just discovered your channel & loving it! 😊😊😊
I use cinder and perlite + potting soil and or cactus soil
Soooo I take it that potting mix THATS supposed to moisture control for over/under watering is a no go? 😅
I use 1/4 soil, 1/4 perlit, 1/4 orchid mix and 1/4 cocos coir ist that oke? My Thai came with I think a bit root rot on the aerial root and also don’t know what to do because it’s on the stem at the root
Thank you for your tips, from this new nervous Albo mum 🙏🏻💕
You are so welcome!
Tips for reversing dehydration on a cutting? Its arial root was rotted when I recieved it so I had to cut it. It's got a few nodes where new ones will emerge (I've "air layered sphagnum around them and crossed my fingers.)
However I've noticed her stem is wrinkling and 2 of 4 leaves are curled a bit...
I don't think I would do anything extra to address "dehydration" specifically. Some leaf loss is expected when rerooting a cutting.
@@LegendsOfMonstera thanks for the speedy reply! Much appreciated.
thanks bro, super helpful! just got an albo stem cutting and been wondering what to do with it when eventually i move it out of the small pumice mix its in when neough roots to repot. cheers
Watch Ep 17 🤗
I do have a fertilizer video that may be thought provoking for you.
Would spraying the leaf with water compensate the lack of humidifier? Don't think it's viable to run humidifier 24/7
Legends Of Monstera aha you know what’s good!! 😂 thank you so much for the info ☺️
So if the cutting has root rot, would it help to rub it with desinfection spray, or rubbing alcohol? To kill the bacterial?
Do you bottom water your monstera? How do you prevent gnats?
Hi doc. How do you measure 70% soil and 30% other staff?
Just saying, I appreciate the heck outta your channel. 💜 thank you for creating!
Aw thanks for the kind words! Thanks for watching and happy holidays!
You can do either. The leaf should drop off eventually anyway.
Legends Of Monstera thank you! Love all your beautiful plants!
Hello! Thank you for this amazing video and all of the others! So, I have a young Monstera Albo Variegata, and I wonder if cocopeat is a good soil for it since you mention it should be and airy type of soil.
I can’t say I have much experience with that. I also don’t know any hobbyists in the US who use it.
What if your albo loses its variegation? What would u recommend? Maybe a video would be good!
Ah this is a case by case response, and the response also depends on who you ask 😅
Hi I'm a new subscriber and I really love how that plant looks , its a gorgeous plant woooow greetings from Sacramento 👍🙃😃
There's very little you can do except cutting it back to the areas where the stems were well variegated.
I just cut the stems where the green leaves started to revert back. Hope it works. Thanks 🤗
It might need more light (no direct sunlight). Only the green parts are able to absorb light, so if it's placed too dark, it produces more chlorophyll.
What are your opinions on purchasing nodes? Are those for experience plant owners? Thank you!
Yes, I would leave those to the experts haha. Even I don’t trust myself with nodes.
Thanks!
You need a node...
Thanks.Ill order bark and perlite of amazon half way video
Hey Jimmy! Great video! What are your thoughts on soilless mixtures for your VM? I’ve switched over to 50/50 peat moss and perlite at the urging of a few self-proclaimed experts. Would love to hear your thoughts!
Soil-less not soulless 😂
Good luck man! Yeah usually it’s a step or two back before going forward when it comes to root rot. Happens to the best of us and sucks every time.
Great video!
Hi Jimmy, new subscriber here. When you’re showing your Thai Constellation, I noticed that some of the leaves are cut off partially, did you cut it off? If yes, why is that? Can I also do that to any monstera plants? Thanks. :)
I did cut them off but I don't do that anymore. I just let the leaves be these days. It looks weirder with the cut off parts lol
I have a v. Monstera that has a leaf still developing in the petiole, but it has gone brown. I have checked the roots for rot but they look healthy and have grown since I last potted it up. I'm curious as to where to go from here and how/ if the plant will continue to grow.
Just continue doing what you're doing. The plant will likely push out a new growth point. Just let it be =)
Would you be able to use an 'Antirot' Product? Like phos acid?
May I ask what direction is your window? I am wondering if I will have success with a large North facing window (I am in Vancouver Bc) if my plant is right up against the window. The sun will never hit directly so it will always be indirect light. Thanks for the great video
The large window is facing west. The light coming is "filtered" by a large condo building lol =) I think a north facing window would do great for you! Cheers!
How long does it take for a plant to metabolize water?

Any of the LED lights will work. They won’t burn your plants.
@@LegendsOfMonstera That's interesting, I thought I did my research... -_-
I'll look deeper into this matter!
