thank you for sharing your knowledge on variegated monstera .Your advises were really helpfull. Newby Plant lover from France ! I mixed some orchid bark , cactus mix and spaghnum moss mixed and they seems to love this mix. I used a coco coir pole as the moss is attracting gnats here. Humidity rn is 70 % so I don't use any humidifier !
I cuttet my varigated Monstera into 4 parts and now i have a plant with 4 sprouts. All peaces are well rooted. So i will achieve a buschy plant. Sorry for my bad english, i'm german :)
How old would you say ur plant is in this video? Just trying to gauge if mine is growing properly. Ive had it since october, has only put out one leaf. But its been chilly here for a few months. Im hoping it will start putting out new leaves soon!!! Urs is GORGEOUS!!!
Would love to have this growing out of my dining room fish tank but the prices here in the states are insane. I hope someone gets this plant into tissue culture soon. Cheers, Chris
Hi Jimmy! This video is super helpful! A quick question, I got my albo in December it put out two leaves for me. But since march it just stopped growing, I’m a bit concerned, what could it be? It gets bright indirect sun, enough humidity and water it when it’s almost dry and I’ve fertilized it (not a lot because it grows slower). Thank you!
Thanks for sharing the products you use! I am going to follow you so see when you will release the variegated billatae...it's my #1 on my plant wishlist :)
Definitely! Coco husk or perlite works. I rarely use bark these days and just stick to perlite+soil because I'm too lazy to buy an extra bag of stuff =)
Thanks for posting these videos! I just bought a varigated monstera for cheap. It had a white leaf. I cut it off and babying it so it has a chance to grow! Anyways! Im a local as well! #westside
Hi Jimmy, for the cutting that's rooted, do you recommend laying the the cutting flat on the solid mix and just bury roots or sticking half of the stick inside? thanks
I’ve got my monstera variegated cutting coming in in a few days and I’m freaking out about what soils to use. Can I use vulcastrat I use that for my banana plant and it’s thriving in it but I’m not sure or should i make a mix of bark and vulcastrat and perlite ? Or just bark and perlite ? I’m so confused
Hi Jimmy, I recently purchased a Thai constellation and it was damaged in shipping. It was delivered on Wednesday and the variegated parts have been wilting since. What can I do to bring it back to life or should I trim the wilted sections? thanks!
Hi jimmy. Quick question, my aerial roots on my albo are about 5ft long. Would you recommend putting them in the pot or leave them dangling. Some roots are wrapped around the pole. I always mist the roots too.. Beautiful albo you have too. Thank you for this video. From the U.K. 🌱💕
Does the wooden plank soak up any water or does it remain dry? I just wondered if the wood might go green after a while. Thanks for a great video by the way.
I recently purchased a cutting of Monstera Albo from a nursery which got a big leaf with 30% of white but the new leaf that came out is 95% green (Small baby leaf with no hole) . Does that mean the plant will loose the white?
Just let it grow out, the variegation tends to have mind of its own. The slob I produced a few leaves that were mostly green to pure green and then the next 10 leaves were heavily variegated. If it produces only green leaves you can try cutting back to the a spot with good variegation and hope it’ll produce a shoot that’ll have more white
Hi Jimmy! I had a question. I was wondering, Is there a danger to giving plants too much light? I know there are low light plants that would die under direct sunlight, but could a bright grow light that is not going to have a heat/burning effect on the leaves could damage low light plants. I have read a little about chlorotic leaves, is that a symtop of inadequate light intensity? Curious to know! thank you!
If the leaves aren't burning, you can definitely give it as much light as you want. Some plants will turn pinkish when there's too much light, so I would back off if that happens as well.
Hi jimmy! I have a segmental and also a marbled monstera albo that came matured with splits (one of them is more than 1metre tall). However, in the last 3 months the newer leaves did not split and look like young leaves, i am wondering if i was doing something wrong... The new leaves r popping out quite healthily with variegation and regularly tho - just without splits
does the plant appear really root bound therefore it has stopped developing? since it's over a meter tall it could have lived in its pot for a while now
and how often do you water? Terracotta dries out so quickly for me! I’m getting an albo in the mail tomorrow I’ve been scouring your videos and all of google but now i’m nervous. Big purchase.
I just leave it. I used to cut it off because I thought it didn't look nice with the brown. I soon realized it looks so weird and fake when I cut the brown off, so now I just leave it.
I recently received an albo cutting. It had a new growth node and now the tip has turned brown and it’s stopped pushing out. Any tips on what could have caused this?
I’ve had my albo for more than a year and the newest leaves haven’t been splitting at all (so far it’s been 8 leaves not splitting) Any tips to get it to split?
Hello - I potted my first monstera albo rooted-in-water cutting yesterday in a soil mix I got somewhere online. It went like this: 65% premium potting mix 20% cactus soil 5 % perlite + orchid bark 10% peat moss But I felt like adding a lot more bark 😂 I wish I'd seen your vid sooner! A question i have is, do you do anything special with the water you give your Monstera? I saw something recently about tap water burning the leaves of Calathea & wondered if it could happen to monstera too..
I personally give filtered water to all my tropical plants. They really have been growing better. I also mist them with filtered water only. Also, to note, I live in a place where tab water is really good quality. I just see it as an equivalent of the 'dog is not only for Christmas but for life' attitude, just with plants. If you want the jungle look indoors, you gotta commit :)
@@LegendsOfMonstera Well, I cheat a wee bit with my filtered water. I got a water filter for my camping before COVID19 and now I can't really use it with all the restrictions on travel. After looking into how much water I'd be using per day and how much the filter can be used for, it turns out I can use it every day for a year before it runs out and I need to buy a new one! So that's £27 per year on filtered water - not too shabby I'd say!

I don't know if I did something wrong since it's been happy for the past 6 days here in my house.😭 Is browning caused by over/under watering? Or both? How I wish there's a secret formula to keep the white part healthy.
The white part actually does nothing for the plant.. the green part is where the chlorophyll forms. The green part is what feeds the plant. So when you have plants with more white than green they’re going to have a hard time growing and producing more leaves and eventually they’ll sacrifice the white part which will turn brown. It’s normal for them to do that. Maybe you need to see what the plant needs so it doesn’t take nutrients from other parts of the plant I hope that helps 😬

How much do they run for? I don't even think we have any in Korea.
Did you know they make variegated fruit? Sweet too. Its hard core variegated!
Yes, the variegated ones do make variegated fruit!

What a stunning monstera albo. Here in India we have a problem getting a bark. Can we use coconut husk chips instead?

Hi Jimmy, for the cutting that's rooted, do you recommend laying the the cutting flat on the solid mix and just bury roots or sticking half of the stick inside? thanks
Yes, just put the roots into the soil and the new growth will aim upward regardless of how the cutting was originally grown.

He doesnt seem to answer. Try Molly's aroid soiless mix. It even has pon as one of the ingredients.
Jimmy, do you know where to find Japanese albo in Los Angeles? Thanks
One thing no one talk about is how often they push out new leaves. How often do you think you get new leaves...once a month or so?
Definitely not that often for me. Depends on growing environment.
Hi! Love your Monstera 😍 What’s the difference from monstera deliciosa and borsigiana?
Wow what a beauty 😍♥️

It always remains dry.
Amazing video, you look so young. Not my plant though, but beautiful. 🐤🍁🍓

Do you know where I could purchase this plant for a reasonable price?
Is that a caramel marble in the back? 👀
Where did you leave this plan in your house

If you recently repotted it, the smaller leaves may be telling you it's acclimating. Also giving it something to climb won't hurt.

Happens all the time when rooting or acclimating. It sucks but very common.

Superb, i love yr face expression🤗
Do u make ur own moss pole. If so where do u buy ur supplies.
There is a separate moss pole / plank video.

Monstera ,can you teach me
Hi! Love yours vids! Can I buy a cutting from you? Pleaaaaasssseee.
Bonjour j'adore cette plante et je vous acheter monstera
How tall will you let her go before you trim her back?
Not really sure. I suspect I'll have to trim her back a bit to control her variegation, and not so much because of height.
I can take even more casual ;)
Nice muscles
Can I have a cutting please?
