There's a lot more than that to look out for , start from cold ! Listen for piston slap and any knocking noises , there common to have bottom end failure , also check the coolant fill bottle for air bubble 's and for pressure when just been started ,again headgasket failure is also becoming a common issue, thats the mechanical problems out the way , now for the body , rear arches as stated rot ,and also the rear tower turrets were the rear shocks mount this is a make or brake issue if rotted can be very costly to repair, I had to have mine repaired on my 97 classic , check the jacking point 's and sills , at the end of the day there a classic best to buy a import as in Japan there's no salt on the roads so body work is usually very good in past experience hope this helps sorry for the big write up 🖒

Nice ride. Another suggested spot to look at is the rear shock towers. Those are known to rot out along with the fuel tank and filler neck

Great little buyers guide, I don't think anyone would hold the rust on the roof against you Jack ... who ever looks at the roof when buying a car !? ....... but I always will from now on 🙂👍

I didn't like that japanese stuff back then , but now i will admit it was well engineered and solid

Something just right with an original classic Impreza. Does look good in white with the original gold rims.
Nice simple helpful buyers guide too...

Thanks for keeping youtube interesting! While I sometimes kinda cringe at you and JayEmm buying and selling cars really quickly, because of worry about y’all financial security, it’s guys like you that keep life interesting. I genuinely respect that you’re not at all like my neighbors who just say “Oh I’ll just buy a Honda Civic Si or Toyota Celica and drive it everyday for the next 10-15 years!”. What’s the fun in that? We all only got a couple years left till we kick the can anyway so why not buy that second Lotus or save up for that used McLaren. I’ll tell you the type of people who look up to Teslas and new Miatas as the cream of the crop: people who lack vision and dreams. They’re afraid to dream because a name like “Alga Romeo” and “Maserati” scares them. Rock on

@@SilverScarletSpider What a silly point of view. Not everyone cares about cars as much as you and thinking they should all think or feel the same as you shows your arrogance. Some people would rather spend money on other things. Only idiots change their cars every 6 months.

Hey, do you still have this impreza? If so, how is it after 2 years, is it fine, not any expensive repairs? Im looking to buy such one, since its my dream car. What engine do you have? Thanks

Number 27 At how many miles should I get it with? I don’t know if it can handle a ton of miles and are reliable or if I have to find one with low miles.

@@therealisco4524 Yes buy one you will smile every time you drive it, mine has 320,000KM but the engine is just rebuilt so miles doesn't matter if it's been loved!

Cletus is an expert on gearboxes, so any problems, refer to him.
Leathered and guid❓ Are you sure about those❓
A very helpful video, and it's very thoughtful of you to post it. Thank you.
