Really. I love experimenting in all games on hardcore level. It's a bummer that people always start crying though when you do it in team games - they are actually often quite newbie(midlvl) who say it, just because they have never heard of anything else but the main meta. (gosh when I look at their replay you won't believe what bad players comment uselessly, not noticing what's going on in the game) Dunning Kruger dudes. I can't believe how wrong people are sometimes without realising - or some simply don't have anything better to say I assume but somehow feel that urge to comment on anything without knowledge. You can do so much in games with HIGH skill level that others don't see or don't want to see (cause they are lazy and don't want to deal with new situations). Not that I care too much, but I always think this is a little sad, there could be a way more exciting community/ies IMO and less baby-griefing. Anyways there are many great players out there who play cool things you won't believe, which actually brough up some pro strats - i got some vods/replays here of pro vs noob who inspirated that pro to try it on higher level. And then you saw it winninga game in tournament. (i.e. as surprise strat or to mix it up) That lower player was simply not too good in mechanics as not investing "enough time", but the principles were correct. I mean remember when you had really fun in a game, it was when you were experimenting. It's doing what you think is right neglecting assumed limited knowledge, of course sometimes it turns out not to be awesome but this is how new stuff got invented all the time. I mean just look at Boxer the imperator back then, hilariously genius high skill tricks and innovation for his level back then. (game just started) And so much more... not even to start with Savior... and other..
Light has a creative energy of someone who has mastered the game and is having fun. At this point practicing new strategies and tactics to achieve higher levels is always a fun thing to do when you are at a level of mastery.
It's also always fun to do when you start out. Mass one unit, see how far you can get. It's extremely great to learn that very unit and all its perks, strategies, and ways to workaround with only that unit opening new ways to think. I.E no anti air, but you came up with constant counter attacking etc. And then next unit... Ofc to have a game sometimes you need a certain start and some basic defensive unit (and on higher levle this turns into fake rushes or transitions after harras with other unit into the unit you want to try extremely extensively. duh.
I appreciate these casts and seeing you present this stuff, rather than the rage-fuelled content I've seen before. Keep up the positive energy... ! :-)
man, I love seeing mech vs zerg. back in flash days it was unstoppable. no one really makes it work now a days. also 17:21, if only light had emp instead of irradiate, he would have held.
18:20 the most devastating single broodling cast, getting all the mines and all the rest of the army. Yet another reason to NEVER seige over your own mines.
You are doing such a fantastic job, honestly. One can totally feel your professionalism in commentary. Gladly I leave a short comment here. I do not watch often, but I "do my part" and I am a fan for centuries. (sometimes though I can't help myself and watch like 8 hours of VoDs through the whole night of you) Please keep up the fresh innovative content that you guys produce, especially I think a mix is quite healthy long term for such an old game IMHO such as the invisiblemen production! Personally I'd also love to see a little bit of team games more, again just to mix it up 10% not as main content of course, mb 3v3. (I know it's already casted some times in the past, such as FFA). Not just pure 1v1 (which we all love but isn't everything great if you come back to it after doing something else the day or days or weeks and looking forward to? Sometimes even years. This all makes 1v1 more valuable. But also starcraft simply offers a little bit more which can still be fun.) OF course 1v1 BW stays king, no doubt! This is about more ways in life though, as i really enjoy so much, also his extern videos about pro gamers from other games and their books for instance.
It is extremely strong if you can land the EMP but first you need to know where the queens are, and once they have parasite on your vessels they know where your vessels are at all times making it much easier for zerg to work around it. If the terran doesn't catch wind of the mass queens its huge trouble in general, otherwise Light could have pumped out 6 more wraiths and went queen hunting.
Terrans know that Z will make queens when they switch to mech, but they never try to counter it. I think, i recall only on game where the terran made like 10-12 cloacked wraiths,.and then went on the map, searched, found and killed the queens in advance. I haven't seen those goliaths tactics to work, correct me if I'm wrong.
there is one particularly good game of Flash vs Larva that involved Queens and it was a hell of an uphill grind for both players that eventually lead to the entire map being mined out iirc. on Crossing Fields, 2017-10-09
Ditto. Mech terran vs Zerg always looks like queens are some kind of surprise. How about making EMP preemptively and like 7 Valkyries for "zoning out" the inevitable Queen Fest.? It's sooo dumb watching always the same climax on Mech V Zerg games: queens with energy = GG
emp makes more sense than a dozen cloaked wraiths which will have close to no use during late game. that's a huge amount of gas and time. to have that many cloaked wraiths means a long time where you aren't making vessels which are amazing against everything zerg has and remember that a wraith and siege tank have the same cost so 12 wraiths means you potentially have 12 less siege tanks which is massive. i see a lot of people theory crafting and saying things like "why isn't X made" and the problem is almost always the units you are giving up by trying it. however, in a long drawn out 30+ minute game it can make sense since you usually have an abundance of resources, but in a sub 20 minute game you have barely entered late game.
It's more of a crowd funded pickup team match, rather than the old proleague with managed teams. There's a sticker post on the team liquid brood war tournaments forum about daily proleagues. Some of those matches would be great.
Artosis !! How's the east coast!? I'm on the west, but am an honorary newfoundlander! Been watching you for 20+ years... miss you on GSL 😢. State doesn't bug tasteless enough😅. Excellent work man. Peace ✌️
I like seeing Terran tech openers and/or Terran mech in TvZ, but I feel like every pro match I've watched recently where the Zerg goes Queens as a counter and has enough time to get energy on them = a win for Zerg. Light even had the advantage and was even on bases here, yet still get ran over by Hydra + Queen in the end.
Hey, just wanted to let you know that I am watching because I like you, not because I think SC1 is the best game. I appreciate you explaining how things work while you cast, otherwise I would be fairly lost as someone who loves SC2 but hasn't played SC1 since before SC2 released.
There seems to be a tight timing there the Terran might be able to exploit - but it might be sharp. Crazy volatile matches to see if this sneaks into the meta as a left-field viable build.
I reacted when you called it a lackluster attack, so I've watched it again and I'm not so sure about that. It was a really expensive defense for Queen, and with it being 3 base v 3 base at the time, seems like it was viable attack given the eco situation too.
Been watching for years and years. If you do like a "Lightning series" of like different ranked players, maybe life 5 games of S, A.. and so on so we could see the way strategies develop also. - Maybe this is a stupid idea but hey there it is.
Back in the late 2000s I would play my TvZ while maintaining 5-6 Wraiths with +1 attack to harass overlords. Mind, I was never near pro lvl, but it worked great to harass Zergs and get some easy wins. Goliaths would form the rest of my army.
Why don't we see EMP as a preemptive counter to queens. Especially given players habit of stacking their queens while energy builds up. As soon as you build mech start scouting for queen rally point. One EMP and the timer for brooding energy resets
Arty casted a game recently where the terran got EMP. Regardless, I think this is just kinda new. I've been seeing a lot more mech/queen games and maybe in the future EMP will become more common.
Hey Arty where do the Korean players get their English game names from? Do they all speak some English or is their name just translated straight over? Flash, stork etc etc
If Terran gets SV, zerg gets defiler. If Terran gets bio, zerg gets ultralisk. SV's hard counter ultralisks, but not defilers. Queens are hard counter to any composition without SV's.
@@MeteCanKarahasan Queens could be countered by any composition but they really cost effective to counter Siege Tanks even you mass Goliaths. Queens usually go along with large number of Hydras to distract and snipe Tanks from side or behind.
Forgive my lack of knowledge on this, but why have multiple Korean SC players joined the military in the past? Did they just feel like it, or am I missing something?
"the best game"... very subjective ("dih nu shat shurlek") ... but this game is much harder too control for any casual player than games like C&C, AoE and Total Annihilation ... then you have spells like psi storm which if well placed even by said casual player may snowball very hard compared to the usual rush play ... the deliberate grouplimits don´t help either ...
Love this series. Watching pros get to experiment on the ladder is fun
Definitely! So curious if starport->mech->vessels BUT then back to either wraith/valk to counter queens will be the evolution.
Really. I love experimenting in all games on hardcore level. Light sure knows how to make a game exciting and engaging.
You are the BEST
Wow so many twists and turns in this one, totally unexpected from the setup. GG!
"Queen wins with his named unit." My mind has just been blown.
Lol true. But he named himself after the band, not the Zerg Queen
Finally. This is the Terran combo that's the best I believe. With a BC or three added in later and a science vessel
Even as a zerg player, Light is still one of my favourite players to watch.
RT going one video without mentioning Flash would be like me going one video without smiling, thanks for the casts RT
As someone who grew up watching Kespa games and seeing that Kal vs Light match where Light was OWNED BY ONE DRAGOON its nuts to see him as top Terran!
That was Tempest, not Kal.
It is funny that Light does not look like a bright guy on the surface.
Awesome strategy from Light. Would love to see this build used more often and refined over time.

The efficient vult use was great
Really interesting play from Light. Nice to see the testing. A missed infested CC at the end but probably not needed. GGs!
It's neat watching stats change, or new ones for me anyway
18:20 the most devastating single broodling cast, getting all the mines and all the rest of the army. Yet another reason to NEVER seige over your own mines.
That is the genius of zerg.
The timing on the patreon plug is impeccable. I know to skip 3 minutes exactly

So close to infesting a command center at the end there.
Фантастический Зерг )))

Love to see different strategy games. Starcraft keeps evolving
14:55 Wouldn't EMP be good counter against queens? They usualy clump in one group and you already have Science Veasels.
I think you are probably right. Sometimes the pros can be very stubborn in their playstyle, but a couple emps would absolutely wreck.
it's not common for TvZ to use emp, usually they invest on irradiate~ I'm sure Terran was not expecting for the Queens meta build~
Artosis casted a game a few weeks back where there was some EMP drama in a similar situation.
It is extremely strong if you can land the EMP but first you need to know where the queens are, and once they have parasite on your vessels they know where your vessels are at all times making it much easier for zerg to work around it. Should have went back into some wraiths to deal with those queens but I know that is asking a lot.
It seems almost comical how Brood war Siege tanks with a shell every 5 seconds are actually strong

hard to EMP when you know where the SV's are using parasite. Though i do agree the pros seem to be fixated on irradiate instead of at least trying it.
Hello Arty. After the current ASL finishes, we may need to regard Mini as the second most accomplished player in ASL, not Queen.
I think casting games of popular players would help grow the channel
Popular like who ? Messi?
The back and forth messaging between them in the beginning, worth translating or nah?
juicing the algo

Doesn't make me as happy as soso goliath rush vs zerg but still good😂
Do Terrans ever try to use ghosts and lockdown against zealot bombs?
No, ghost is just a shit unit.
What are they saying at the start of the match? I cannot read Korean
Could have produced a squadron of wraith to wreck the queen honestly
If Terr use Bio, they get Defiler. If Terr use Mech, they get Queen.
