I take my hat off to all other great champions, but the GOAT among GOATs must belong to one. It belongs to none other than the Louisville lip, the people's champion, the greatest to ever put on the gloves, MUHUMMAAAAD ALIIIIIII!!!!!!!! You wanna talk about achievements, and this man has it in spades - he won more than 100 amateur bouts and lost less than 8 - before the age of 18, he went on to win six Kentucky Golden Gloves titles - 1959's National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Champion - 1959's National Amateur Athletic Union champion - 1960's National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Champion - 1960's National Amateur Athletic Union champion - Won a Gold medal in the Rome Olympics in light-heavyweight boxing - World Heavyweight Champion from 1964-1967 - AT 22 YEARS, HE WAS THE YOUNGEST BOXER TO UNSEAT A REIGNING HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION - He defeated Sony Liston even after the odds were 7-1. No one sees a 7-1 odds, and it was deemed one of the greatest upsets of all time. Before Andy Ruiz, before, Buster Douglas. - Sports Illustrated magazine ranked Clay's victory as the fourth greatest sports moment of the 20th century - 1970's Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Award - Muhammad Ali's rematch with Sonny Liston ended in K.O. within ONE ROUND - 1974's Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year - 1974's Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year - Fastest hand speed of any heavyweight in his era and possibly of all time - In 1974, Ali participated in "The Longest Walk," a protest march in the United States in support of Native American rights. - 1974's Fighter of the Year, Boxing Writers Association - World Heavyweight Champion from 1974-78 - He fought the fight of the century against Joe Frazier; although he lost, it was rated by many as the biggest sporting event in history - That didn't keep Ali down. Even the greatest have lost before. In his rematch with Joe, Ali won via unanimous decision. - To settle it once and for all Frazier and Ali got for the trilogy. They put their lives on the line and empty the tank. We knew once and for all who's the better man. Ali's declared the winner in one of his best performances yet. - The Thrilla in Manila is rated one of the best fights of all time and won the Peabody Award - And we can't ever forget his historic performance against George Foreman. Sony Liston was the only man to put him on the backfoot, and Ali KO'd him within one round. George Foreman, considered by many as one of the hardest punchers in heavyweight history. Known as The Rumble in the Jungle, Ali came into the fight as a 4-1 underdog but won by knockout, putting Foreman down just before the end of the eighth round. - The Rumble in the Jungle was watched by OVER 1 BILLION viewers worldwide. - The Rumble in the Jungle is also famous for Ali's introduction of the rope-a-dope tactic, in which he leaned against the ropes and absorbed punches from his opponent. This decreased his chances of being caught with a clean blow and, at the same time, tired his opponent. The Rumble in the Jungle has also been called "arguably the greatest sporting event of the 20th century". By winning it, Ali became the world heavyweight champion for a second time. - Again World Heavyweight Champion from 1978-79 - Ali revolutionized the sport with his creative tactics, hand speed, and ring I.Q. - Never ducked anyone and wanted to FIGHT the best to B.E. the best - Ali was the FIRST man in history to win the heavyweight titles three times - 1978, 1974, and 1973's BBC Sports Personality World Sport Star of the Year - Ali was a leading heavyweight boxer of the 20th century, and he remains the only three-time lineal champion of that division. - His joint records of beating 21 boxers for the world heavyweight title and winning 14 unified title bouts stood for 35 years - His refusal to participate in Vietnam made him an icon for many people - He's a prominent humanitarian and activist - 1979's Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters, Texas Southern Univesity - Destroyed Patterson, another Hall of Famer - 1978. February 15, Ali lost the heavyweight title to Leon Spinks in a split decision. The self belief he had was just astounding. Some aspire to be great with trepidation in their hearts. Ali just knew that he was the greatest and no boxing fan alive would disagree.
If you want to lose your soul and freedom vote for Mohammed. .Mohammed's real name was Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. His Father's name was Cassius Marcellus Clay Sr... His GrandFather named his son Cassius Marcellus Clay due to his admiration of Cassius Marcellus Clay a nicknamed the "Lion of White Hall", was a Kentucky planter, politician, and emancipationist who worked for the abolition of slavery. He freed the slaves that were handed down as his inheritance from his father. It was a name of honor. But instead Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. changed his name to Mohammed Ali after a white African slave merchant that captured enslaved and sold his ancestors around the world and Islam's followers are holding 27 million slaves today.
Michael Stein he traded a name of honour to another name of honour. What’s your point? Muhammad is a name of honour in Islam. And plus get away with that islamophobic shit. Slavery did not occur due to Islamic beliefs. The slavery you’re talking about happened due to Arab cultural beliefs. Remember that Arab does not equal Muslim
Ali at the Atlanta Olympics brought tears to many people, including me. 1979, I had a 35 minutes conversation with Ali backstage at the LA Forum. I had made a prop for the TV show. That interested him more than talking about his boxing career history. Off camera, Ali was a great person and quite humble/respectful with everybody.
If he had remained Cassius Clay, we would have saw the best of him. He never would have been reclassified. Sorry he did remain Cassius Clay. He never legally changed his name. What a waste of 3.5 years!

Great tribute to Ali. It is tragic we were robbed of those three and half years when he was banned. They would have been his peak years...but he still did what he did. Incredible man...and human being.
Fact is he got off lucky, anyone else that dodged the draft like he did went to prison, but he didn't. As a celebrity he would've been given a safe, easy job much like Elvis was. He was a great fighter but I just dont and never have agreed with all his anti-American rhetoric while he was simultaneously living the American dream.
@@matposton87 I think you missed the whole point of why he refused to go. And even if he had a celebrity status, he was still black and at a very different time than now. This was a civil rights movement. At a time when vocal black people was being assassinated. He wasn't scared of dying. He wanted rights, and not just for him, for all black people. He used his platform and status to stand up knowing very well he could be the next black person in America with the target on their head. Might as well stand up for what's right and what you believe in and die on American soil than go to a war that has nothing to do with you and take a bullet there. If you truly believe he would've gotten a gravy job being a celebrity, you've got to admit, he took a bigger chance by standing up and chancing assassination than going to war then.
As far back as I can remember, I recall all the men I grew up around speak so highly of Ali, he didn't even seem real. He was my first real role model. "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth" His sentence lies at the core of who I am and I do my best to live by it. The world might have lost the man but, his legend lives on forever.
The United States robbed the entire world of 3 of Ali's best boxing years!!! Just imagine.. all the greatmess he achieved including his refusal to go to war but just imagine WHAT IF he could have reigned supreme with the title his entire career like he would have an like he did after...what a hero
The United States robbed the entire world of it's humanity....but you're right. Muhammad was at the top of his game when they threw him in prison...unforgivable, imo.
@Eisa Adil People get killed in war zones, regardless of why they are there...perhaps the odds were less, but that's it. He objected to the whole endeavour on moral/religious grounds, so motivating soldiers was not something he would be willing to do.
I was blessed to meet Ali at a banquet, Mapledale, and honored by his signing my boxing gloves. I truly love him, respect his ability and titles and especially his humor and compassion. He certainly was right, that as he liked to say himself, he was the champion, and a handsome one. May we always cherish his memory, and may his family be blessed by Most High Creator!! Love forever, Louisville KY lip!

Agreed although the only bit that lets it down is the way the foreman fight is edited. I think it’s a bit overplayed that Ali took the punishment he did. I think Ali was just the greatest that night and completely schooled him that night. He changed foreman’s life forever that night too.
For me the most impressive and inspiring thing about Ali isn’t his, speed, his moves, his sharp tongue. The most impressive thing about Ali was his will power and spirit. The man was an immovable object and a vicious unstoppable force. One of the greatest men of character there has ever been.
His ability to outsmart his opponent along with his will for me. That was an awesome comment because that will is what separates the good from the great.
I absolutely love Ali he’s is unquestionably the greatest of all time, I love when George Forman tries to intimidate Ali and Ali says “ oh George you were in school when I was beating Sonny Liston”🤣.
Sonny Liston was 40 years old (he took a dive twice in a fixed fight). Archie Moore's age was listed 49 at the time of the Ali fight. Ali is overrated. He fought light heavyweights throughout his career and many contraversial decisions and many fixed fights. He lost all three times to Ken Norton (realistically) and once to Smoking Joe and never gave a rematch to Foreman.
@Freddie MercuryGeorge Foreman and many boxing purists, including myself, state that Norton won all three fights. Ali's 2 wins over Norton were diisputed by many, including by Ali himself.
There are few things that make me speechless in life. This is one of them. This isn't just a documentary, this is a journey, this drags you trough all kinds of emotions. Wow!
Muhammad Ali, the legendary boxer, was not just a champion inside the ring but a beacon of hope and humanity outside of it. His unwavering dedication to justice, equality, and the upliftment of the oppressed reflects the essence of a heart connected to truth and compassion. Ali's legacy reminds us that greatness is not merely in power but in purpose, not in fame but in service to others. In the teachings of Islam, the first man to enter Paradise with the last & final Holy Messenger & Prophet of God, Muhammad (peace be upon him) will be a black Muslim, Bilal al-Habshi (may Allah be pleased with him), a former slave who rose to become one of the most beloved companions of the holy Prophet. This profound honor underscores a timeless truth: Allah does not look at our appearances or worldly statuses but at the sincerity and purity of our hearts. Muhammad Ali embodied this message. His life journey as a black Muslim in a world rife with prejudice serves as a testament to resilience and the power of faith. May his example inspire us to strive for justice, serve humanity, and prioritize the state of our hearts over the superficiality of appearances:) aameen.

this one isnt really him this was one long documentary that was on tv he just taped and uploaded on here but he does have some good videos he edited himself...
I honestly thought he beat Frazier the 1st fight, until I watched a replay in 1982. Joe won the 1st fight. When he list to Norton, he fought with a broken jaw from the 1st round on. He avenged that loss. I couldn't believe he lost to Spinks, but he avenged thst loss as well, & looked like the old Ali doing it.(I think he under estimated both Norton & Spinks. I don't count the last 2 fights, as he had been retired, & came back. Still I thought he'd beat Larry Holmes(who IMO is a very underrated fighter. He held the Championship for a long time.).
Eh, three of those fights were at the end of his career when he should have retired by then, so I seriously count them. He avenged an early loss to Frazier and Norton was marred with other complications.

You wanna talk about achievements, and this man has it in spades
- he won more than 100 amateur bouts and lost less than 8
- before the age of 18, he went on to win six Kentucky Golden Gloves titles
- 1959's National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Champion
- 1959's National Amateur Athletic Union champion
- 1960's National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Champion
- 1960's National Amateur Athletic Union champion
- Won a Gold medal in the Rome Olympics in light-heavyweight boxing
- World Heavyweight Champion from 1964-1967
- AT 22 YEARS, HE WAS THE YOUNGEST BOXER TO UNSEAT A REIGNING HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
- He defeated Sony Liston even after the odds were 7-1. No one sees a 7-1 odds, and it was deemed one of the greatest upsets of all time. Before Andy Ruiz, before, Buster Douglas.
- Sports Illustrated magazine ranked Clay's victory as the fourth greatest sports moment of the 20th century
- 1970's Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Award
- Muhammad Ali's rematch with Sonny Liston ended in K.O. within ONE ROUND
- 1974's Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year
- 1974's Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year
- Fastest hand speed of any heavyweight in his era and possibly of all time

- The Thrilla in Manila is rated one of the best fights of all time and won the Peabody Award
- And we can't ever forget his historic performance against George Foreman.

"Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth"
His sentence lies at the core of who I am and I do my best to live by it.
The world might have lost the man but, his legend lives on forever.
Gone but not forgotten
The United States robbed the entire world of 3 of Ali's best boxing years!!! Just imagine.. all the greatmess he achieved including his refusal to go to war but just imagine WHAT IF he could have reigned supreme with the title his entire career like he would have an like he did after...what a hero
The United States robbed the entire world of it's humanity....but you're right. Muhammad was at the top of his game when they threw him in prison...unforgivable, imo.
Imagine if he would have went to Vietnam..those Viet cong would have been fucked!
@@dicktracy3439
That is a really dumb thing to say.
He probably would have been targeted by the VC and killed.
@Eisa Adil People get killed in war zones, regardless of why they are there...perhaps the odds were less, but that's it. He objected to the whole endeavour on moral/religious grounds, so motivating soldiers was not something he would be willing to do.
Right
why am i not paying for this.
U sit through all those ads? If yeah then u did lol (I know how to get rid of them all so didn't have to )
@@LiveForGodStudios huh I don't get what you mean hun x
I was blessed to meet Ali at a banquet, Mapledale, and honored by his signing my boxing gloves. I truly love him, respect his ability and titles and especially his humor and compassion. He certainly was right, that as he liked to say himself, he was the champion, and a handsome one. May we always cherish his memory, and may his family be blessed by Most High Creator!! Love forever, Louisville KY lip!
A poor black kid shook up the world when he stood up and said,,' I am the greatest ', when Black people didn't even have equal rights.
Ali become the strongest, stronger than the most powerfull enemies of him at that time. What a Legend🥊💯
He was never a "poor Black kid" get that straight.
"Ali has done it! The great man has done it!!" Sends shivers done my spine every time I hear it.
Totally agree, David Frost's words were immortal
Yes I agree such cool words! it's so funny watching and listening to every word of this documentary How the TV commentators and media quickly turned on him after only 2 prime losses. They do the same thing to every great fighter throughout history it drives me nuts
Probabaly my favourite commentary in any sport ever

Absolutely agree
CUS WAS AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN. MY FAMILY LIVED A MILE FROM HIS GYM. HE WOULD PICK ME UP WHEN I WAS 8 YEARS OLD AND LET ME PROVIDE HIM WITH ORAL. I WAS ABSOLUTELY HONORED. HE'D OFTEN SAY, WAY TO GO CHAMP. MUHAMMAD ALI CAME IN THERE ACOUPLE TIMES. HE CALLED ME CHAMP T0 AS HE PEMETRATED MY RECTUM WITH HIS DIVINE GENETALIA. CUS AND MOE SWORE ME TO SECRECY BUT I JUST CAN'T KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT ANYMORE. THE DAYS THAT CUS AND ALI WOULD FULFILL THEIR SEXUAL DISIRES WITH ME FILLED ME WITH GLORY, PRIDE, AND HONOR AMONG OTHER THINGS. SOMETIMES WHEN I CLENCH TIGHTLY I CAN STILL FEEL THE CHAMP INSIDE ME. BOY OH BOY THOSE WERE THE DAYS. THE ONLY TIME MY LIFE TRULY HAD MEANING. I HONOR BOTH OF THOSE EXCEPTIONAL IDIVIDUALS MEMORIEA BY GRACEFULLY PROVIDING MEANING IN THE LIVES OF CHILDREN WHO OTHERWISE WOULDN'T HAVE ANY. I LEARNED MANY THINGS FROM CUS AND ALI. ALL OF THAT KNOWLEDGE RUBS OFF ON MY CHILDREN AT MY SISTERS DAYCARE CENTER. I TELL THEM, THIS IS WHAT CHAMPIONS ARE MADE OFF AS I EJACULATE INSIDE THEM AND UPON THEM.
REST IN PEACE TO THE CHAMP.
REST IN PEACE TO THE CHAMP MAKER.
WELL THANKS FOR TAKING ME BACK. I HAVE TO.GO TUCK IN THESE KIDS I HAVE TO BABYSIT. FMl I know right. Ah, kids, the last innocence left on earth and its all mine.
Agreed although the only bit that lets it down is the way the foreman fight is edited. I think it’s a bit overplayed that Ali took the punishment he did. I think Ali was just the greatest that night and completely schooled him that night. He changed foreman’s life forever that night too.
It really is without a doubt
He’s my HERO!!! Saved my life once again he keeps saving my life!!!
For me the most impressive and inspiring thing about Ali isn’t his, speed, his moves, his sharp tongue. The most impressive thing about Ali was his will power and spirit. The man was an immovable object and a vicious unstoppable force. One of the greatest men of character there has ever been.
Great words for the great
His ability to outsmart his opponent along with his will for me.
He is not greatest of all there are many better than him.

Wow!
It's not Cassius clay, it's Muhammad Ali 🔥
Everytime I feel like life has beaten me, I watch this video... I then get up and smile in its face and say, bring it on!
Muhammad Ali may have passed on...but he lives forever! That's all that needs to be said about the mark he left on the world!

Ali fought ALOT in his later years, sometimes 3-4x a year.
What a warrior he was.
Whats not said in the video is that he donated most of his earnings
I hated every minute of training, but I said,
'Don't quit.
Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion. ' Muhammad Ali

A legend inside the ring but also outside the ring.
Whatever if he lost his 5 fights he'll always be our heavyweight champion RIP Ali
*seriously don't
Perhaps when God created Ali, God said: "Let's give this man a bit more of a soul, and We shall SEE what he may do with it"...
Everyone has this soul put it to use you and get to work
