Yesterday I played Starfield for the first time. I have to say that the loading screens are short but damn seeing one just by moving around the ship or entering a shop in a city is just crazy. It's really weird how you have a big open field ready but not a building's interior.

The loading screens are why I stopped playing the game. No respect for the players time. Just turn on noclipping and skip 90% of loading screens with no negative consequences
I've seen a video of a dude riding an elevator and it straight going for a loading screen, while you could simply jump down and it doesn't need loading.
This has to be one of the best AI implementations lol

Not only the quests but the whole setting and world. Its so bland, boring and without any imagination, it has no identity or anything unique about it, every city feels like a cheap chinese replica of another game. Even the combats the game takes place in 2300 and yet there isnt any cool weapons or abilities its just same weapons as we have IRL in 2023. And people shited on Cyberpunk ? Even at release with the bugs Cyberpunk was a trillions times better in every single aspect like the story, characters, side quests, art direction, combats and gameplay, atmosphere, setting and lore of the world, soundtrack, with dialogues so much more realistic and well made, no loadings at all no matter what you do... Its actually sad
Legit, after arriving in new atlantis I wanted to do some side missions and did the first three I came across. All of them were go to point A and pick up item and bring it back to the NPC, no combat, no interesting stuff I felt like someone working for Doordash

That editing was GOD TIER lmao. Seemless cutting of the live footage with AI voice generation and carefully done to make the long shots and cut aways feel perfectly natural. Man that takes a LOT of time and work and it's difficult to do. Then we get an outro that was just fc*king perfect.10/10 and I can't remember the last time a YT vid was 10/10.

You can tell there is a very significant amount of work to edit\make it sound and look as natural as possible.

Agreed. The way they interleaved real footage and natural speech with the AI speech (usually when camera was not close up on the face) really enhanced the illusion.
It wouldn't have come together without the 10/10 editing.

the script was fantastic, I mean even adding the occasional stuttering of words made it SO realistic, as if it were what they were actually saying... on top of that the inflections in their voices, the showcase of various bugs, the selection of music in the outro, etc

I am gonna die on this hill, it's not the creation engine it is the dev team. If modders can make things like Nolvus or Ultima then the engine still has quite a bit of life. All boils down to passion

I admit, Starfield made me want to dogpile on the creation engine decision with many others, but thinking about it more maturely, I think you're right. It's not just the vision and oversight in making a game, it's the people you hire/guide that are making the game. Us gamers don't really get to see that process, but it all boils down to what happens (or doesn't happen..) in the studio.
@@MuggleKarpThanks, others tend to get overzealous and don't consider that. Recently watching NOLVUS v6 gameplay just makes me feel even more inclined to believe. Taking screenshots without context will leave you thinking it is an Unreal game
Its pretty freakin' impressive what they've been able to do even without the creation kit. The ONLY thing that has made the game remotely playable for me has been the fixes and improvements done by the modders. Can't wait til the kit comes out and they would be smart to do it sooner than later.

Reminder that this game scored higher than Lies Of P on Metacritic. I wonder why. Maybe journalists liked it or they don't want to be blacklisted from Microsoft for putting it lower than an 8? If you see the Steam review score between these two games though, the difference there says it all.
Also Starfield's overall positive review % on Steam has been slowly dropping since release from the mid 80's to the low 70's and is now "mixed" for reviews in the last 30 days. OOF.

Biggest bug for me was the lack of variety when it came to clothing options. Everyone was wearing a space suit or generic business' suit that doubled as a hoodie, except for the crimson fleet which had the only interesting wardrobe.
I was kind of hoping for the AI todd to say "It just doesn't work"

Dude, i was actually contemplating re-instal my copy of Elite Dangerous while playing Starfield... to have an ideia, i played only 4 hours of the game before get bored, unistalled and never touch again... Bethesda reach PEAK BORING point to me surpassing ED;
The monologue in my head was like, at least the exploration in ED is more realistic, losing my time in that game even if i find nothing is better than lose my time here because theres nothing here.
Same, the brown filter and broken HDR alone was a quick refund..
I went to play resident evil 4 remake again. Absolute dog shit Starfield.
Took me 58 hrs to finally call it quits. There were moments here and there where I could feel some kind of potential, but then it just never comes...If the game had a good story I might have been able to finish it, but its just so bland. Almost everything about is just so bland.

Also i actually played starfield (i bought the early access edition on steam) and played roughly 15 hours. In this time i encountered several bugs: T posing NPC's, quests being bugged, i couldnt reload my weapons, all guards (and some normal npcs) turned hostile for no reason.
And here are other reasons for why i refunded the game: too many loading screens, boring companions, shitty unimmersive face animations (2005 makes so much sense in this case), the ship being a glorified stash, the planets are barren, bland and empty, shitty UI and the perk system is boring.
Also the fact that you actually defend this game shows who the real shill is. Maybe try to look into a mirror, you bethesda drone.

I had that bug in New Atlantis up by the waterfall where the NPC’s at the coffee tables spawn up in the air, but they all spawned high enough to die from fall damage. So as I’m walking by, I hear the first one hit, look over, and it just starts raining bodies.
I just HAD to clip it and upload to Xbox live. 🤣 I’m sure I’m not the only one it happened to either.
