  • Hi! I’m tomomo.
Thank you for visiting my weekday video.
I live in a small town 2 hours drive from Tokyo.
    I’m a happy mom of two (👦🏻16 + 👧🏻10) and two cats (😺😇Picku 18.5 + 🐈 Momiji 16).
    ------------------------
    In this video…
    It’s my daughter’s 🎂 birthday!
After she went to school, I prepared for the summer.
It's not yet the rainy season in Japan, but the hot weather continues. As electricity bills will increase from June, I hope the air conditioners will work well. I thanked them and cleanes their filters. They were so dirty😱.
I had Hiyashi Chuka (Chinese style cold noodles) for lunch.
For dinner, I seasoned Karaage (Japanese fried chicken). And my husband fried them for my daughter.
I had some cold Japanese sake and Ochazuke (rice in green tea) at night😌🫶.
I hope you’ll enjoy my life in rural 🇯🇵 Japan!

I think it’s wonderful showing you taking naps, sometimes I feel alone in having to take them because of chronic headaches and fatigue, but knowing someone else does and is still successful makes me feel better ❤

Oh, thank you for saying that! I know exactly how you feel. At first, I hesitated to film myself taking a nap because it made me seem lazy. But I think napping time is my favorite part of the day😂. I realized there was nothing to be embarrassed about it! Please be my napping buddy!

      Hi Hailey♡
Thank you for finding me and sending me a message.
I’m so sorry about your father. It must have been a really tough week for you. I lost my beloved cat in February this year. I still haven't gotten over it, but I'm starting to feel more positive. I think time can help things. I pray from Japan that your pain will ease gradually.
Your cooking channel is 🤩 amazing. I'm sure there are many of your viewers waiting for your videos!
      Cook! Eat! Sleep! Laugh!😆
These are the cure, don’t you think?

🎉 Happy birthday to your child!❤ We have "field day" at the end of the school year (late may) here in the USA, but it isn't as intense as I've seen watching shows from Japan sports days, it's more for fun than competition. As always ❤ momiji. I remember my daughters 11th birthday, she cut her hair really short and looked really cute. Most mothers work in the USA now too, but we lived in a bad school district and my daughter (and now youngest son) didn't adapt well to school, so we've cut a lot of our costs so I can stay home and teach them. My teen girl is 16 now and doing very well at a creative arts high school, but I'm homeschooling again for our 6 year old son, it's just the cards we were dealt and we work with what we have. It makes me tired and we don't have a fancy house like their friends have, but they have what they need. ❤

My daughter says "Arigato" to you! Oh, the field day sounds really nice. Nowadays, Japanese kids also seem to want to have fun together rather than compete, but teachers have old-fashioned ideas and try to get the kids to compete!
You are a great mom! And your kids have wonderful education with you, I envy you. We don't have homeschooling system in Japan. It's a great option for kids, I think. Your kids thank you a lot for sure❤️

In the Philippines we usually celebrate birthdays by cooking lots of food and inviting important people in our life and feed them what we prepared for the birthday 😊
Belated Happy Birthday to your daughter! I'm new to your channel and this is the first video I watched. I'm from the Philippines 🥰❤

    Hola querida Tomomo,
Thanks for the video, always entertaining and instructive.
Juan Carlos and I say happy birthday to mini Tomomo!!! 😍May you celebrate many birthday surrounded by your beautiful family...
What a beautiful detail for her the watermelon and the birthday cake...we loved the sofa toast, super original!!🥰
You have a beautiful nap corner in the summer version, it has a very Mediterranean look...and the bamboo curtains are very pretty...it seems incredible that a year has passed since I saw you put the bamboo curtains up..
Here in Spain, the school ends tomorrow, in many schools there are festivals with children's performances and sports...not as well organized as what you have showed us...I'm glad you didn't have to cook lunch box, cooking always consumes a lot of effort and time.
Your plants are very pretty, I hope the knob (perilla) survives... will cross our fingers.🤞
What beautiful landscapes you have near your house, they remind me a little of Gibli's films... we have seen the vegetable stand and you have broccoli, we were amused to see it. Do you consume it at home? We eat it but when I cook it J.C. gets depressed, he doesn't like it at all...Honestly, it is a vegetable that smells bad even when it is being cooked...🤫
Very pretty Muji sandals, It reminds me that we have to renew the summer sandals to stay at home...
We always learn things from you...thanks for the explanation of house cleaning and the gods of Japan, you have a very rich culture...
Our days have been quiet, JC and I went to the Madrid book fair, we didn't find anything that interested us... but it was pleasant even though it was crowded with people...
Yesterday we returned from spending three days on the mini getaway, we went to the north of Spain to the province of Navarra, it is a province that borders with France, specifically we were in the city of Pamplona (where the bulls run through the street, I told you last year about this), we spent a pretty days...we walked a lot, saw a differents places and it was very good, we went by car, it takes about four hours to get there, it's good to get away from the daily routine a little.
We had planned to go to the border of France, but in the end we didn't, we like to be tourists without predefined routes, we let ourselves go...
Summer starts today, but it's raining here and it's a bit cold, just the day that I need to have sun to dry the clothes of the trip, the sunny is out ( Murphy's law)😜
On the subject of birthdays, in Spain for some time now, the children's birthday party is almost a themed party, a lot of money is spent organizing the party with a piñata, magician show or similar and it is organized in rooms special ones that are rented, before it was not like that, in my time and in J.C.'s time, there was a small party at home, your parents would give you a little gift and they would make sandwiches and they would make a very popular homemade cake called Grandma's cake, a cake made with cookies, chocolate and cream... tasty and simple, in many restaurants they serve it as a something nostalgic, if you want to see it you can put this “tarta de la abuela” in Google Images.
In a while we will see the UEFA euro2024 (soccer match), Spain plays against Italy, let's see if we win...the UEFA euro2024 is celebrated every four years and faces teams from Europe that are previously classified... soccer is the preferred sport in Spain...Although there are studies that indicate that young people are increasingly less interested on it...this would previously be unthinkable...times changes...
We are saying goodbye, I'm sorry to write so much...
We send you a very big hug 🤗 for your husband and children too and we don't forget to send another hug to Momiji (always hungry and cute...)
Until next time, from Spain with love, J.C and Silvia 😘😘😘

      Hola Silvia and Juan Carlos,
Thank you for writing me again, I always feel a big love from you two😍🫶.
And also mini tomomo is saying "Arigato" to you!
Yes, we eat broccoli at home. I often boil them and put some into my son's lunchbox.
I sometimes stir-fry them with beef (put some oyster sauce, soy sauce, and salt and pepper).
I agree...JC, broccoli smells when it is being cooked😂.
      But I still like it.
My son doesn't like veggies but he can eat them. He's a picky eater...may be most of men are right😂?
I'm happy to hear that you went to the book fair and had a fun time!
It's always fun to see books🥰. I love the smell of old books.
I googled Navarra. It looks so beautiful. Spain has a long history so I always love to see old architecture.
You should have had a wonderful time there. How about food?
Are there any different foods there than Madrid?
Tarta de la abelara looks very sweet!
The top of it is chocolate right? But the between chocolate...caramel??
Yeah, I know that soccer is the big thing in Europe.
I saw the documentary of Beckham on Netflix.
      It was so intense!
I thought it's just soccer games... but may be more than that?
In sports, we compete against each other in Japan, but you guys always seem to compete in international matches, so you may be more fired up than we are!
Don't be sorry to write me long, I feel sorry that I can't write you back longer😭.
My English skill is not enough to write you long you know?
Thank you for always supporting me and being my friend!
I always look forward to your message❤️
      Love♡tomomo

      @@tomomo3108 Hello Tomomo dear!!
In Pamplona, Navarra we had a great time, in terms of food, there they are specialists in white asparagus and vegetables, but the most popular is a super simple and very delicious meal, it is fried eggs with “chistorra” (the chistorra is a similar pork sausage with spices), it is delicious and cheap 😋 if you put “huevos fritos con chistorra” in google images you can take a idea, some people add fried green peppers, but I like the simple version.
About “tarta de la abuela” grandmother's cake (abuela means grandmother) it is a very easy cake that does not need to be baked and is stored in the refrigerator and eaten fresh...it has cookies dipped in milk, chocolate topping and a cream that is already bought in powder or it is home made, but people buy it in powder .
In Spain we have a musical genre called "pasodoble" and they are songs that are danced at popular parties, and in Pamplona, Navarra, they have one of those pasodobles that people sung in the street at the end of the popular local party in which many people from other places have visited the city, is a song of a sentimental farewell, the song named “Don't leave Navarra” ( no te vayas de Navarra)I put you a video where you can see people singing it in the streets of Pamplona./watch?v=gaaVnZJldyw
      Spain is quite peculiar...😁
Dear Tomomo tomorrow we will eat broccoli, J.C. is already complaining...
This afternoon we will watch Spain's match against Albania on television, let's see if we continue on a good streak and win...(we beat Italy the other day)
Have you seen Formula 1 this weekend? It was held in Barcelona, I think your family likes it.
I don't write English very well, I´m sure that I make grammatical mistakes...but I love being able to write to you and understand each other (we think you write and express yourself very wel🤗l)
Until next time, we love watching your videos and we appreciate the effort you make when editing them, it is time that you dedicate and we thank you.
      Big Hug from us..😘😘😘

Happy Birthday to Miss Sparkle. That's what I call your daughter because she is so bubbly and happy. I loved seeing the scenery on the river and around your town. I had to stop watching midway because the tornado sirens went off here. We are having very, very hot and humid weather and some severe storms. Thankfully, tornadoes are rare where I live. I love seeing what you cook. There are many dishes I have never heard of. This weekend, we will go berry picking: saskatoons, cherries, and blueberries. Thank you for inviting me into your home. I love these scenes from your life.

I read the news of tornado. I'm so relieved that you are OK!
Did you pick many berries? I've never heard saskatoons, so I googled it. It looks like a blueberries, but tastes different?
Thank you for loving my lazy cooking! I'm THE normal Japanese woman, and I think it's very rare to show the NORMAL Japanese cooking, you know? Many Japanese youtuber is sooo good at cooking😂 (I'm envy them!)

    Dear Tomomo,
I wanted to write you a message already since two of your videos ago but never managed to because I am so busy all the time right now. First I want to answer your question (yes, I still remember ;) you can nowadays buy Edamame even in the bigger supermarkets in Germany but a few years ago it was only possible in specialized Asian shops. But as Asian food got more and more popular, it spreads more and more in "normal" shops. I also do grocery shopping in an Asian shop since several years already because I love miso, wakame and enoki and so on :) I hope your edamame plant grows biiiiig :) I wish happy birthday to your daughter and peaceful sumerdays for you and your family! :)

You remember about Edamame! Thank you for teaching me about Germany.
I love to explore supermarkets in different countries! It's always really fun to find the difference right?
Maybe I'm buying German stuff in Japan, right? I think I buy some beer and chocolate!
My daughter is saying "Arigato" to you!
How's your early summer going? I hope you have some chilling time♡
      Talk to you soon!

My daughter is saying "Arigato" to you! Yes, I have a lecture once a week at the university. I have 59 students this year🤩! I have a contract with the company to work as a part-time lecture at a university. And about the tutoring job... I'm self-employed and run a cram school, so I think I can call myself full-time♡
