Hi Marianne! Just wanna say that your vlog is one of a kind. Ive been watching vlogs like these from different channels (Daily life vlogs in Japan) and how you film and tell your story is really unique. The different angles, wide and zoomed in shots of objects, overlapping sounds, and a lot of cool filming style you can see on movies/documentaries. This compliment is becoming a bit exaggerated but I just want to say KUDOS to your efforts in making this video. Ps another thing that I think what makes it stand out is that it is not faceless and you’re also sharing Nihongo translations every now and then which is suuuuper helpful to people who loves and plans to go to Japan. I am excited and looking forward to you making more contents like this, we appreciate you! And your content!❤🎉

I've just uploaded a new video, and now after reading your comment, I became more excited to finish editing my next vlog. Your words made me feel more motivated. I'll hear from you again! Always keep safe, and sending hugs from JP! 💜✨

I rarely comment but I just have to thank you for this video. Calming but also made me think about how I could learn from you, enjoy the little things. You seem so genuine or as we say in Icelandic "gæđapappír" (e. Quality Paper) 😊 Also, I love Japan and dream of seeing it someday although doubtful it will come true, so far away and expensive! We don't get much snow, once in a while, but it does freeze and we buy buckets of salt to melt outside stairs and such. I am surprised that Japanese houses aren't more insulated. Icelandic houses are near hurricane proof to keep warm (also our summers don't get that hot and are getting colder, thanks to climate change) but we also have cheap resources for heating them, geothermal, and electricity from hydropower plants. When I lived in Denmark I realised how lucky we are in Iceland when it comes to this. But, many other things here not so good, but no place is perfect I guess 😂 Thank you again, liked and subscribed ❤
Edit to add: Thanks to Netflix I just started getting into K-drama but also chilling Japanese series. Omg!

You're lucky in Iceland to have cheap heat! Heat is getting so expensive here in the US!. I got a kotatsu and I'm going to try to do it Japanese style next winter! I'll have to keep my house warm enough so my pipes won't freeze, but I'll only be comfortable in my kotatsu! I can't wait to try it!

i know im just some rando on the internet, but for some reason, coming from the place of a young person still figuring out the rest of their life, this style of video is profoundly comforting. ive made it a goal of mine to try and live in japan for a few years to see if i like it and would want to stay, but sometimes that dream feels very far away and like i'll never catch up with it. videos like these, of just normal people living their normal lives, give me solace. its a good reminder that life doesnt move as fast as i think it does, and that everybody who i admire and look up to who're flourishing adults now, probably felt the same way about life when they were my age. thank you.

I can't express to you how much I enjoy it here. But I will say no matter how long you live here, or how much Japanese you speak. you will always be a foreigner. If you are ok with that and the isolation it will bring. then come and try to make a life for yourself.

Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 ! I'm a new subscriber - I really enjoyed this video! I find it fascinating to see how different lives are in other parts of the world. As a Canadian, I see a lot of snow (though sadly, not nearly as much as before because of climate change). Right now, we are heading into summer and have already had several days of 38°C weather! I hate summer and this one will likely be the hottest on record. I will go through your video library now (I wish you made more long ones like this!), I thank you very much for sharing and I hope your channel grows! Thank you!

The climate has always changed and continues to do so - on it's own.
The only thing that can change the climate is the sun.

Interesting, here in Iceland, thanks to climate change, our summers are getting colder and the winters more unpredictable. Just last month it suddenly froze, killing new born lambs and ruining crops for farmers. June should be frost free, even in Iceland 😊

Hi, Annie! I know right! The snow has lessen indeed as compared to the previous years, and this year's summer is really hot! It's rainy season in Japan right now, and I'm already melting. What more in August? 🥲 Anyways, thank you so much for enjoying the video! I hope you enjoy my newest upload, too! 🌸✨

    Try this:
Next time after your done Shoveling the Driveway,
or Before you hear that a Snow Storm is coming SPRINKLE SALT all over Stairs and driveway and it Will Melt the Snow and keep it from Freezing (so you don't have to shovel everyday) this is what we do on America 🇺🇸.
Lovely video, thank you for sharing 😁🥰.

Hi from NY! I really enjoyed this video. Your car is really nice and I like the fact that you teach school. You help people learn and that is very important. Shoveling snow, that is a lot. Wow, the question that you asked is really good. Hmmm, my skincare routine is just lotion (Palmer's or Hempz) for my body. My face I use Palmer's Skin Success (Night) Cream. I like relaxing by talking with my husband, drinking a cup of coffee and watching tv or being on my computer. Wow, you do music too! Sleep well, goodnight.

Marianne, your video is lovely. I miss the snow so much. My origin is from Rimouski, Quebec, Canada. As a child, the snow could sometimes be as thick as the height of the door on the house LOL. So if the door opened toward outside, oops, couldn’t get out. So the shoveling for some could be a narrow passageway as high as the adults. We went sliding on a piece of cardboard down the snowy small hills. It was always my favourite season. It smells so clean and looks bright and happy. You’re right about shoveling the snow right after it comes cuz it’s lighter usually. And my skincare is actually a cleansing foam made in Korea. I visited Korea 3x and just loved it. Watching k drama almost daily. My most recent fav is: King the Land. I’m embarrassed to say how many x I watched the whole series. And I don’t know the one you are watching. My mother tongue is French, maybe you figured it out, being from Quebec. Bravo young lady from Philippines, teaching English in Japan and liking Korean food and drama. Obviously you like Japanese food and life as well. I’d love to live in this village too. I’m old enough to be your grandmother. My daughter in law gave me a necklace which says: 랗머니 after my 1st grandson was born. I wear it daily. Stay well.

      @MarianneTopacioTV  4 місяці тому

Merci! 🙏 I really enjoyed reading your comment. I could imagine how fun it must have been for you as a child! I would love a walkway with snow walls as high as that! Mine is only around knee area lol. 😆☺️ Ten years ago when I first came to Japan, the snow here was a lot (it was also hard to open my door after a snowy night lol). Sadly in the past years, they have lessened. 🥲
It's interesting to learn we have similarities with our interest in Kdramas! I recommend you to watch a drama I've watched recently. It's 'Lovely Runner'. Really good.
And oh, would you mind if I ask if your daughter in law is Korean? I was just wondering because of the necklace you got. ☺️
I'm really happy to chat with you here. I feel like talking to a friend and a grandmother! I hope to hear from you again. 🤗🌸✨

When i use to shoval, i would turn my car on to defrost. So by the time i get to it, it warm and the snow it easier to get off. Then when i come back out its still kind of earm and ready to go.

Yup! I do that too whenever I'm already prepared to leave right after clearing the snow. During this time though, I didn't do it as I thought it's a waste of gas to turn on the engine since I knew I was going to spend time shoveling. 😆😅
