  • Shoulder pain is so overcomplicated by healthcare.
    The way the shoulder works is made out to be much more complicated than it actually is.
    The way we show you to move here in this video is one of the foundational things to do for just about every shoulder problem out there including rotator cuff tears, shoulder impingement, shoulder arthritis, and even shoulder labrum tears.
    But this is not taught to people with shoulder pain. They instead get pushed to take medications, get injections, and when those don't work - have surgery.
    Occasionally you might have physical therapy, but they mostly see people who have already had surgery so they don't know what to do for you if you haven't had surgery.
    They usually give you the same basic exercises as people who have had shoulder surgery. This doesn't fix the shoulder problem for the long-term... it just gets you feeling better for a short while.
    For 9 out of 10 cases, if you start to do the treatment from this video, you should feel dramatically better for months and even years if you keep it up.
    In this video, Dr. David shares with you the one thing that might completely get rid of your shoulder pain.

    Thanks so much for your insight and expertise. Definitely going to be more conscious of movement. Had history of grade 3 shoulder separation in the 90’s. Trouble now that I’m 71 and had a fall which caused bursitis. I woke up with difficulty raising shoulder. Anyway thanks

    I knew this instinctively once I started getting chronic shoulder problems. It’s like why do they tell everybody to put shoulders back and down and every body tells you to do it and blame you for your injury’s because apparently you didn’t hold your shoulders back and down good enough. Tell you that you got bad form when you know damn right your form is good according to what common teaching is. Goes to show you they tell you this to lead you astray from normal body mechanics all to get you injured so they can sell you a cure and they just make you go around in circles never getting better and then tell you I don’t know what’s wrong with you or just do more of these exercises and give you a bunch of useless exercises that don’t work. It’s a big snakey scam they are all in on used to create a problem so they can sell their brand of a cure. Makes me sooo mad.

    Thank you Dr. D! This is very interesting. I've never spent time in a gym lifting weights but this makes sense and I will try it when my 70 yr old body is outside digging and mulching and hauling heavy bags and stooping and squatting - everything hurts. I've been working on strengthening glutes and hamstrings with some improvement but I would love it if you give more time to examples in carpentry, landscaping, because I know all those professions suffer by the time they are middle aged :) I'm trying to figure out how to bend over to pluck a weed without having my L3-4 compressed disks knock me over!

    Very helpful. Could scooping a cats litter box for 18+ years cause shoulder pain?

    • @cherylmcnutt9905
      @cherylmcnutt9905 3 місяці тому +2

      I have to scoop litter daily to for decades. After a bad car accident where my rotator cuffs were damaged, it was much harder to clean litter. I now have a folding chair in the room near the litter box. I move it closer to the box, then scoop. The lower height was f sitting seems to make cleaning the box easier! I will try this newer technique to see if it helps as well. Try the chair and see if it helps. It certainly helped me!

    Except you will 100% injure your shoulders if you use that form bench press with any decent weight...

    Very helpful video. I have had a scan which shows no obvious injury but still have pain in my right shoulder during certain movements especially in the gym. It's hard to get the right advice as most physios say carry on what you are doing ( in the gym) but stop if it's beginning to hurt too much.I do shoulder dumbbell raises and bench press and tend to work through any pain but I will pay attention more to moving the whole joint.

    Excellent. As I have gotten older, more sedentary, less physical and more mental in work, flexibility has gone down from my ADLs (activities of daily living). That has shown up as less full body, more isolated movements unconsciously. Thank you for the awareness, the first step of conscious change.

    I’m interested to know in sport how this works. I know in gymnastics on a handstand you definitely shrug for full extension. What about pickleball when hitting the ball? Or other sports when doing the throwing motion.

    That Rule of the Hand makes so much sense, especially since my shoulder implingement pain started early in my bench pressing. I adapted to eliminate the pain during pressing, but licking the shoulder blades down while pressing clearly did me no favors. This is so contradictory to all the purist pressing instructions out there.

    • @longdolinafamily8873
      @longdolinafamily8873 Місяць тому

      I went and looked at a couple bench press teaching videos, and stopped when one guy said in order to maintain shoulder health, keep your shoulder blades retracted. This seems like the opposite of what you're saying. What are they trying to get out of that by relating it to shoulder health?
