Have to issue a major correction for this video. The map at 10:49 is incorrect. At the time, I thought that the information regarding New Eden, and the cities that the region encompassed was referring to a small village called Berne. Which is right next to the larger city of Bremen. However, the information was actually referring to the capital city of Bern in the country of Switzerland. So the blue zone area shown in this video should be ignored.
Btw, you seems always refer to any information from the intelligence database as quote "... To quote from the GDI archives" even though the information especially for Kane's Wrath units and factions comes from the Nod Kane's Wrath intelligence database...
You missed one of the major operation where Legion is tasked to intercept Tacitus in mid-east Asia, the escorts of Tacitus carrying MCV are mostly Zone Raiders, the encampments at upper parts of maps are ZOCOM as well, as they sports Rocket Harvester.
6 hammerheads. 2 with zone raiders, 2 with missile squads, and 2 with grenadiers. That was my go to squad for all threats. Throw in a mix ground unit incase the hammerheads gotta retreat and no base stands a chance
ZOCOM is definitely my favourite faction... not just in terms of gameplay but in terms of lore too. They represent the best that GDI has to offer and represent the greatest rebuke to the cultish demands that Nod places upon humanity.
Man, I love the implication at the end that ZOCOM isn't necessarily...*listening* to the rest of the GDI. Makes total sense given their mission and the fact they've taken a couple of major losses.
also don't forget gdi doesn't have a culture at all it has buerocracy and a military both of which are simply required for not dying once the tib crisis is over it's incredibly likley everyone breaks off hell zocom in that setting would be fun a nomadic army state beating people up to revoke tiberium priveliedges
i realized something while watching this video: Zone Raiders have armor that is similar to the Rocket Angels in Red Alert 3 and it's expansion: Uprising.
I never really understood why Tiberium Sun looked so much more futuristic and dystopian than the sequels. The story makes sense to some degree, but the visuals and technology in use, not so much. Remember the yellow/orange tiberium lifeform that damaged and destroyed vehicles in Tiberium Sun? That felt much more threatening than bad weather in a red zone.
From what I know, though I would have to do more research on the subject, the main difference was the developer's for each game. Tiberian Sun was made by Westwood who had their own vision for how they wanted the Tiberium Timeline to play out. They even started work on their own C&C 3 game. But when EA closed Westwood and made their own studio, EA Los Angeles, they decided to take things in a different direction. One that wasn't as futuristic or dystopian as Westwood's. They wanted the world to go back to feeling more "grounded" in reality similar to Tiberian Dawn. Since apparently their were some fans at the time who did not like the more futuristic setting of Tiberian Sun.
@@Jethild Well, it was a much less disastrous case of "listening to the fans" than e.g. HoMM4 ditching The Forge faction and its storyline or The Thief (fourth) making Garrett the protagonist again instead of Erin.
I guess it’s because of GDI’s focus on reclaiming the earth instead of fighting nod, also their widespread use of sonic tech reduced tiberium infestation globally
a in universe reason is given in that after the war almost all GDI funding shifted to getting rid of tiberium that the other projects were put on hold or outright canacelled it explains this in the intel files about the mammoth tank replacing the walker from the last war they were seen as cheaper units not needing as much work to maintain and upgrade so they stopped working on improving the more high tech stuff from the last war in favor of cheaper mass produced stuff
How can anyone forget about the Tiberium floater? Those things were ridiculously overpowered considering how much damage they could deal to both infantry and vehicles.
If I recall correctly, others expansions were planned after Kane's Wrath, to focus on GDI and Scrin subfactions, but the project was canceled when Kane's Wrath did not meet the expected level of sells, even though it was was popular and players love it.
12:34 Actually all 6 GDI and Nod surfactions were present for the battle. although the original Nod MCV only shows up after the final barrier drops when the mission is about to end. default GDI is also present, they control the base in the top Right corner of the map, which launches normal Orcas against your Base. the central base protecting the Tacitus is a ZOCOM base and the forward base is Steel Talons. but has a normal GDI war factory and barracks.
It is so sad, the develop team did not thoroughly equip ZOCOM with complete sonic weaponry, which should include large version of sonic grenades to replace regular tank cannon rounds. Oh man imagine that weapon upgrade could only be a sweet blast to any enemy, no matter they are infantry or armored units.

The entire GDI economy of the world at that point barely makes sense, if it does at all. Who is buying the refined Tiberium? Why are they paying significant amounts of money for it? Sure, it's full of valuable and useful minerals and other resources, but it's also everywhere. There is so much more supply than demand, unless the GDI heavily restrict who they allow to have licenses to extract and refine Tiberium from the civilian populous. Despite having the technology to do so relatively safely, and the fact that they want to get rid of Tiberium for the most part. Letting private businesses (with heavy regulations and very strict and thorough inspections for each load) assist in that, within areas defended from Nod attacks, would be nice.
Actually, why couldn't the Steel Talon fund themselves? Just set up more than enough heavily defended harvesting operations to cover baseline operation costs for the whole of the Steel Talon. I remember always playing skirmish games all the time as the vanilla GDI faction with the other 2 GDI sub-factions sandwiching me in as easy AI enemies just so I could capture then command the whole tree. Including 3 MARVS. Two of them carrying 3 missiles and 1 sniper. While the last one had 2 snipers, 1 zocom trooper & raider. All that against all 3 of Nods factions as extra-hard AI's. I'd drag-out the game just to farm elites off of them until I got sick of it.. infact I farmed so much the whole game would crash 😂 *sigh* good times
Man I wish I bought Kane's wrath all those years ago. Love multiple-faction shenagians. Used to do that non-sense all the time in Starcraft 1 and Red Alert 3.
Is it weird that the faction dedicated to eradicating tiberium needs it to fund their operations? I thought it would've been cooler if ZOCOM had an alternate income source (maybe the supply drops from generals) and it could also give them a source of econ control by hunting down the tiberium fields the other factions use.
you are right it is weird since one would think that the marv's harvesting ability would be used to it's fullest potential with would easily fund all of zocom operations.
The number 4 is also the final installment of the franchise, Tiberium twilight, and the pre-intro of the main campaign told us that ZOCOM totally failed in their mission in red zones across the planet in order to contain the spreading of the dangerous crystals which had already been reached a critical level of infestation.
The problem here is that the majority (or a very loud minority) refuse to accept Tiberium Twilight as cannon, for multiple reasons, including the story. Especially the stuff about Kane suddenly working with GDI to contain and push back the Tiberium. The part about ZOCOM completely failing their mission in red zones is part of the explanation for that.
I dunno. Feels like GDI can do everything ZOCOM can do, but better. Steel Talons can do most of what GDI can do, and ZOCOM… still beats ST. As much as I love Talons, their only real advantages are proper artillery and rail guns (both of which GDI has. The Titan do be OP tho)
I love playing multiplayer with a buddy as ST, capture a behemoth husk and shove zone raiders or troopers in there, honestly I love all 3 sub factions, hell Kanes Wrath is a game where I honestly dont dislike any of them and have learned to play them all well, I'm just better at some then others lol

Hey Jet, think you could provide some tips for the campaigns of Tiberium 3 for the current version on Steam. Since the patches prior to me acquiring the game were Multiplayer focused EA ended up leaving the campaign completely untouched in regard to balancing it around these changes which for me is making a massive unenjoyable experience that at least for me is turning me away from even touching the campaign as previous playthroughs/walkthroughs of Tiberium 3 were of previous versions of the game before these patches were introduced making whatever they would provide completely null and voided.
I never caught up on Tiberium Twilight, for various reasons. That said, I really have to wonder what a Tiberium 5 (or a real Tiberium 4 for that matter) would have looked like, would earth have taken the war to the Scrin via their own teleporter? What does the world look like if ZOCOM has its way? Does GDI as an organization get to keep harvesting and growing their own supply of Tiberium, or does ZOCOM put their boot down? I'm starting to have many questions.
Great videos! Man, watching these just breaks my heart in a way though. They really had such a rich and interesting world set up. C&C 3 was an incredibly well done game, on all fronts. I remember being part of 4's closed beta. The forums were nuts. Hundreds of people who played the game BEGGING for it not to be released. Not exaggerating one bit. Everyone knew that the company was preparing this franchise to die off.
The Map of New Eden is wrong. It shows Bremen as its northmost point though by the mention of citys that would be Colonge and munich as the southermost though the city Berne in switzerland would get that place. Also given that the triberium rockets that screwed up germany in the first place were constructed outside of hamburg if that was more to the southwest and a likely retaliation strike the direkt falllout could have screwed bremen hard not to mention hamburg most likely putting northern germany dangerously close if not outright into red zone territory Otherwise a realy good and entertaining video
Zocom and Nod are 2 extremes that shouldn't be followed Zocom wants to remove earths most valuable minerals and nod wants to bring Tiberium to all and poisoning everyone. Zocom is still my favorite faction tho
Slight correction on pronounciation: 10:55 "Bermen" The R comes after the E. "Bremen" You can pronounce this like this: First "BRE" (Pronounced like the "bre" in "Breathless") then "MEN" like the english word: Men. Bre-men. Bremen. The other cities are pronounced perfectly fine. (Tho I still find it odd that "Köln" is turned into Cologne in english ... Would be like turning "New York" into "Neues Jork" in german xD )
Thanks for the info. Though I was mentioning the city of "Berne" which is very close to Bremen. It's just not seen on the map since when I took the snapshot it I was zoomed out so much.
I had an idea for a crazy fanfic or future story thread to explore. GDI won. they have tiberium contained. but due to how it shaped the world, they simply cannot afford to get rid of it since it still has so much use to them and has become a foundation on which the world operates. ZOCOM hates this. they want to see all tiberium gone forever. then maybe blow up the scrin on their homeworld and wipe it from the universe too. So they attack. they attack GDI. turning on their founders, they begin to see GDI as only slightly better then the brotherhood... or possibly worse.
ZOCOM is my least favorite sub faction of GDI i prefer steel talons i just like the classic tiberum sun walkers and i really think the woverine should be able to shoot air units.
With their mandate to destroy tiberium and reclaim the earth. I’d see zocom and by extension GDI in general being extremely xenophobic to mutants as they are born from tiberium exposure and need it to survive.
With your inability to stomach the Lore of CnC4 its obvious that some of your ending stuff is made up heavily... It wasnt ZOCOM who basicaly rendered tiberium dead in the end, it was a joint effort of kane and the GDI, utilizing the tatsitus , sonic tech AND scrin tech to do so. Plus it became obvious that Kane wanted Earth to be PREPARED to face off against the Scrin (as the first and second war basicaly where planed to be lost by him, with the 3rd triggering the attack of a scouting fleet and showing GDI that there IS a threat that they can handle IF they invest more into their ion cannons AND kodiak warships (wich they did. CnC 4 shows us that even a full scale scrin invasion would have ben repelled at that stage as the world, now more or less united under the GDI, was waaaaay overequiped). And ofc. Kane just wanting to go back home AND take his followers with him (wich he did. Not only he did leave earth, but most if not all of the NOD people with him even thou they had peace at long last with NOD followers living in GDI blue zone city's). So basicaly : Deal with it that it expands AND finishes the lore. If your that uptight like the people who brought down the final game ever to be created in the franchise then your lost...

Like, where men and women who are certainly entised by Tiberium enviroment will end up once there is no more need for their expertise?
After they have cleansed earth their next objective would be to take to the stars and wipe the galaxy clean of the scrin and tiberium threat
I’d imagine they could still be HAZOP.
Their weapons are still highly effective and would probably be on hold for Scrin. If their armor can stand up to Tiberium, then I’d imagine other chemical, nuclear, and biological threats are basically nonexistent.
my favorite faction
they are my goto scrin eradication unit
they have the best infantry and air out of all gdi factions
they are only held back by lack of railguns on their tanks
And the lack of artillery…
@@azzythechristianfurry oh, how could I forget
@@azzythechristianfurry honestly with how op their zone raider hammerheads /zone raider marv is their lack of stand-off weapons really isn’t a big issue
@@Nr15121
Eh…
I dunno. If you’ve got a REALLY good turtle player, they can be hard to break without artillery.
Likewise, ZOCOM can be GREAT at turtle strategies because of their splash.
GDI is the most well rounded imo.
Black Hand is downright broken tho lol.
Sure, they lack stealth, but they’ve got economy and insane rocket spam abilities
@@azzythechristianfurry yeah black hand infantry rush is unstoppable and they scale unbelievably well in late game but a mass zocom rush can do it I did a 1v1 with my brother on a modded map where he had infinite money and was turtling and despite that I managed to break him with my marv as well as tons of zocom hammerheads
I wonder how long it would take for a lone rifle squad to destroy a MARV (on hold fire stance obv)
A loooooong while
Factors?
Where is it hitting the MARV? Do they have AP ammo? Damage drops off for them when squad members die, too.
Edit-
MARV has directional armor (weakest in back, strongest in front, middle is in between).
na man, buzzers or milita (I think against armor the buzzers are the worst)
@@josephmontanaro2350
Buzzers do practically no damage to armor. Riflemen and Militia do fair damage, for their unit type.
Canonically, Buzzers are turning even Zone Troopers into red paste.
I'd drag-out the game just to farm elites off of them until I got sick of it.. infact I farmed so much the whole game would crash 😂
*sigh* good times
I have a save file that's exactly this
@@josephmontanaro2350 Don't we all. Infact I bet you we all have a save file like this for all 3 factions...... !!
Man I wish I bought Kane's wrath all those years ago. Love multiple-faction shenagians. Used to do that non-sense all the time in Starcraft 1 and Red Alert 3.
First time I thought ZOCOM is GDI Fareast Branch (Russia Japan Korea Allied) 0_0
I think ea should have made that each faction has a different super tank like zoom the Marv and the stell talons the "Mammoth mark II
You're like the Fedrick Knudson of Tiberium Lore.
Is it weird that the faction dedicated to eradicating tiberium needs it to fund their operations? I thought it would've been cooler if ZOCOM had an alternate income source (maybe the supply drops from generals) and it could also give them a source of econ control by hunting down the tiberium fields the other factions use.
Tiberium is still a valuable fuel source, I imagine they’d still want a piece of it for themselves
@@warchipmunk0599 i read somewhere that tiberium is(ironically) needed to fuel sonic weapons.
you are right it is weird since one would think that the marv's harvesting ability would be used to it's fullest potential with would easily fund all of zocom operations.
Hammerheads + Zone Raiders = most OP combination
So basically dubstep warriors
I really only came to see about the chick on the thumbnail
Wha-
Coomer
@@kjullthedemon Yes
You mean the Zone Raider? Lmao indeed!
Came for the Zone Raider.
ZOCOM is my favorite faction because of how hard they counter Nod. Seriously, fuck Nod lmao
I prefer the vanilla GDI. Atleast i got railguns
@@azzythechristianfurry dont sleep on the wolverine MK2s those things are nasty, even with their diminished infentry options I feel you can still get a lot done with the basics they give you (have actually won sevral games as ST with the majority of my units being infentry backed by their awesome vehicles)
@@josephmontanaro2350
Oh, I know that. I just wish my Riflemen and Missile Squads had comp armor and a healing structure ):
I don’t mind not having the support powers from the armory, I just wish I could heal my guys. It sucks to get them to level 3, then see them get picked apart one by one.
I think anime when I think of ZOCOM for some reason.
In campaign marv is so easy to destroy and can be countered by Redeemer But in actual pvp Its The Worst Nightmare You can ever get
I never caught up on Tiberium Twilight, for various reasons.
At 1:43 Dude has a Ailens Pulse Rifle.
lol
I have to say ZOCOM is the only GDI sub factions that actually contribute a lot to GDI than the Steel Talons
I support Zocom and Steel Talon
can we get a background look at McNeil?
It was a big mistake to make the Kane’s wrath campaign to put players only as Nod against all those GDI and scrin factions.
ZOCOM have a better fund than Steel Talon.
ZOCOM has alot of woman
no wonder my zone trooper shot always miss....
With TV heads.
What about The Commando in MARV?
The Map of New Eden is wrong. It shows Bremen as its northmost point though by the mention of citys that would be Colonge and munich as the southermost though the city Berne in switzerland would get that place.
Also given that the triberium rockets that screwed up germany in the first place were constructed outside of hamburg if that was more to the southwest and a likely retaliation strike the direkt falllout could have screwed bremen hard not to mention hamburg most likely putting northern germany dangerously close if not outright into red zone territory
Otherwise a realy good and entertaining video
Zocom and Nod are 2 extremes that shouldn't be followed Zocom wants to remove earths most valuable minerals and nod wants to bring Tiberium to all and poisoning everyone.
Zocom is still my favorite faction tho
Slight correction on pronounciation:
10:55 "Bermen"
The R comes after the E. "Bremen"
You can pronounce this like this:
First "BRE" (Pronounced like the "bre" in "Breathless") then "MEN" like the english word: Men.
Bre-men.
1. levitihan card 2 frequent crackdowns............3 failing to find 3 thing i enjoy 4. judging me for my morals and character.
enclave ncr and ceasars legion and brotherhood of steel.

all this effort for getting rid of tiberium...couldn't GDI just harvest it all?
Is that woman or man?
whomst
The one in the thumbnail? That is apparently a ZOCOM Raider Trooper and they field all women it seems.
Some of the powersuits look almost like the Terran marine combat armor from starcraft
ZOCOM is my least favorite sub faction of GDI i prefer steel talons i just like the classic tiberum sun walkers and i really think the woverine should be able to shoot air units.
Female commando with a tv head.
I have no idea why, but I friggin' *hate* ZOCOM.
With their mandate to destroy tiberium and reclaim the earth.
I’d see zocom and by extension GDI in general being extremely xenophobic to mutants as they are born from tiberium exposure and need it to survive.
GDI has always been tolerant towards mutants, we dont really see much of GDI being jerks, if at all
With your inability to stomach the Lore of CnC4 its obvious that some of your ending stuff is made up heavily...
Or we could just stick with the lore that actually mattered and they put effort into. 4 was a fucking joke get out of here with that shit
I have Something you need to deal with
You are one of 1% of the c&c Community that likes tiberium Twilight. We others just want a better ending for the tiberium Timeline. And not that nonsense of an ending.
