For the longest i thought it was “Angels like you control” but then a couple weeks ago i went to a Slipknot concert and saw a shirt with the correct lyrics. It fits much better now that i know 😂
Snow patrol - run live in 2009. the crowd gives me goosebumps. Edit: after seeing ur comment and me commenting, i had to go watch again. Its just beautiful.
Corey Taylor is the most underrated singer/songwriters of our generation only because he doesn't play mainstream pop. The lyrics and delivery are so complex, deep, and emotion without having to hide it beneath a thesaurus is amazing. From his solo stuff, to Stone Sour, to Slipknot, I urge anyone to just read the lyrics out of the catalogues and see the greatness this man has been giving us for over 30 years. A true genius and living masterclass that I fear the last three generations will appreciate far too late.
My broken heart aside - Originally, it was about a female friend who helped him through an ugly divorce. He became attached to her and when he confessed his love to her she not only denied him but she abandoned the friendship altogether. Long story short, the creation of this song started with Corey being reluctant to bring it to the band but Paul, the bassist encouraged Corey to keep working on it. The band came together to support Corey and one day Paul, Joey the drummer, and Jim the lead guitarist surprised him with some preliminary lines of music and it took off from there. Sadly, after the album release Paul passed away due to a drug overdose. Although the song is about an unrequited love, it is always dedicated to the memory of Paul now. This performance was also before the death of Joey who succumbed to a muscle disease he had since he was a child. This song is the last song the original band ever wrote together and it is an absolute fan-favorite. - M4L
Mightve been mentioned but this song was originally about a breakup but after og Slipknot member Paul Gray passed away, Corey has said he thinks of Paul everytime he sings this one now.
The absolute best song Corey Taylor ever did was with Dave Grohl from nirvana/foo fighters. Corey sang and Dave played drums. They have a 20 minute video of the making of the song on UA-cam. The first 15 minutes is of them recording the song in the studio and you get to just watch Corey in the booth doing his thing and it's so amazing to watch. No slipknot mask, camera right next to his face, and singing his soul out. It's an amazing song that should be more popular than it was. Sound City - From Can to Can't That's the song/video. Anyone who watches this is going to be amazed. Definitely watch the 20-minute version and not just the song music video
you have an incredible voice by the way. so warm and sultry. Snuff is something that really shows Corey's softer and emotional side and the beauty of his voice.
The whole Live in London show is on UA-cam and it's about 2 hours long but it's amazing. He tells us in the show this is his first performance since he quit smoking. Whether you react to it or not you should definitely watch the whole show. ❤
Glad to see that you read and react to our comments 😃Many of us recommended this version of Snuff and other songs that you reacted to. Have a nice day Stacey!
From somone who seen slipknot 5x in concert, been in the pit 2x😊 they are amazing live! But damn this song they almost never play, only more recently they have been. Its so rare to have a band create such a work of beautiful pain and not share it, to me that makes this song so much more powerful. Knowing how deep this song and "till we die" are to them and us as fans. As another said in the comments, do check out stone sour as well, you wont be disappointed!
Knowing a bit of backstory regarding this song and his late bandmate makes this performance just so much more powerful. "The lyrics could be interpreted as Corey expressing his anger over Paul's self destructing behavior and leaving Corey with all this grief. But over the years, Corey has become grateful that "Snuff" now reminds him of the great relationship he and Paul Gray had"
My favourite quick bit in this concert is when he does the Spongbob Squarepants theme song with the crowd. Check it out when you get the chance. It always puts a smile on my face.
I guess I never knew how much emotion he puts into this song(never watched the video). Thanks for putting it on your channel. I like how much you get into your reactions! This one made me sub.....
Corey is an absolute gem. Check out the acoustic version of spit it out. He does it on his solo shows. Also check out numb, stuck in my head, or gone or staying by sleep theory. A cool r&b metal group
It's likely been shared but the song itself was initially about a relationship Corey was in which broke down but he's grateful for it even though it hurt him a lot. However the song does have an extra significance it's the final single released to feature both Paul Gray and Joey Jordison on the original studio track. Paul who I believe encouraged Corey to share the song with the band as he was saving it for something else sadly died not so long after the singles release and Joey left the band not so long afterwards following an illness (although the method of his departure is murky) and sadly has since passed away. Corey appeared on NY Ink where he got a tattoo portrait of Paul on his calf and it's really heartbreaking to watch him breakdown during this clip.
It started out for a woman who did him bad. He didn't want to release it. Paul heard it and helped him embrace the song. Paul loved it and with his encouragement the song evolved to be a song he tied to Paul.
I found you threw queens live aid video and saw you are getting into slipknot I'm along time maggot slipknot fan and if you want to hear a truly amazing Corey Taylor song you will love it's called vermillion you will not be disappointed it's breath taking pleases react to slipknot vermillion if you love Corey's voice don't keep yourself from this song
Great reaction!!! Gotta do Home / Zzyzx Rd. [LIVE AT THE FORUM] to see more of Corey's amazing vocals and immense talent including playing the piano. And I can't remember if you've done Nero Forte but I'd recommend it for another Slipknot reaction.
why is nobody watching the official version anymore...the video for the song is one of a kind...But my favorite moment is the gude that screams in the beggining when he recognize the songs, still gives me chills every time
@@-scrim Man,you can't be more wrong that you are.First of all if it wasn't for Slipknot this song would never exist in a first place.Second, this song means to Corey so much because of the dead of Paul. And my final point is that there are only 5 songs that are covers of og songs(for me this song is a cover) on this Earth that are better and sorry but this song isn't on that list. I agree that this version shows more of Corey's range but you can't say that this version is better based on the vocal perfomance only
The crowd holding in the song is because in the original Slipknot version it is held like that. This version is amazing but I think you should react to the actual Slipknot version as well as the video is very stricking. Bother is amazing from the same set but that is a Stone Sour song. Also others have mentioned but you should like to the Sponge Bob bit of the set as well its so funny
Occasionally, if you're lucky, you get to watch what i can only describe as a kind of heightened brief symbiosis between musician/singer and audience that can sometimes last for no longer than the moment of a song and is soon passed. I've seen it a few times myself. It can't be predicted but when it happens, makes for a rare and unforgettable experience for all. I get the sense that this was such an occasion. 👍
I really hope you chance out some of his songs with his other band Stone Sour, especially “Bother” and “Through Glass”. It’s another totally different side to him, but equally beautiful.
I saw him in June at the Resurrection Fest, his pronunciation is so good that all the Spanish people understood perfectly what he was saying and although he may seem like a savage, he is a romantic who spent 5 minutes thanking his partner for all her support and love. I was already a Slipknot fan, but now I'm a Corey Taylor fan... impressive.
BOTHER… from the same show!! It’s incredible and the crowd is fantastic and singing and he has a very comedic moment mid song, it another absolute perfect performance
You should check out Corey lead singing for the band Sound City Players song "From Can To Can't" band is basically a super group of rock and roll royalty!!!!!!
Thank you so much for reaction to my favorite Slipknot song, especially this live performance. Can you please react to my second favorite Slipknot song Vermilion Pt. 2 ???
Nice reaction! Thank you! Slipknot are so cool. I grew up listening to their songs. I was lucky to work their concert. Slipknot. Millions of people were inspired by their music. Including Slaughter To Prevail. By the way, Corey Taylor himself said that his son is a big fan of them and it was he who told him about this band. They have become very famous now. And I would like to see your reaction to their best song. Sloughter to prevail - Viking. Check it next please
Your Yuyu reminds me of my Leeloo. I named her after the Fifth Element and I say her full name all the time. She is actually on my shoulder in my car in my profile pic. Always love your reactions. Keep up the great content.
This is a tribute to his friend Paul Gray. He has a tribute tattoo on his leg. There is a video of when he gets the tattoo. Watch that, then you will understand the emotion.
This song came out the day I found my fiancee was having an affair, I exploded the relationship, and lost my daughter two days later. Saying this song saved my life is an understatement.
here's a complete lleft turn of a song for you: Dream Theater - The Best of Times. it's about the drummer's dad who passed away with cancer. The drummer was actually able to play it for his dad before he passed away
"Angels lie to keep control." That line was my lightning bolt for my ex-wife. If you want more of Corey going acoustic, try Stone Sour's songs Taciturn or Song #3 done acoustic.
This is my favorite Slipknot song and this version is great, too! If you enjoy Corey Taylor's voice then you should check out Corey's son's band, Vended. Griffin Taylor sounds a lot like his dad and it's funny cuz Clown's son, Simon, is also a member of Vended, as well! 💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥
Oh my goodness, I don't see that you've ever reacted to System of a Down! I think you would really enjoy them. For harder stuff, there's BYOB, Toxicity, Chop Suey, and many more. For more melodic stuff there's Ariels and Lonely Days...but through it all, Serge's beautiful deep voice.
This song is hard for him because of the death of his best friend Paul who was slipknot's bassist..... Everytime he sings this song he breaks down over him
"It took the death of hope to let you go!" ... tears, every time. Great reaction, thank you!
That is one of the most powerful lyrics I have ever heard .
He does the Sponge Bob theme in this concert, and it is glorious.
It's one of my favorite parts 😂
He opened the horror con in Manchester a couple of years back.. we all cheered for him to sing spongebob.. and he did.. it was acr
Hell ya 🤘 🔥
Also heard him play/sing the sitcom Cheers theme on piano 😂
“I only wish you weren’t my friend” hits hard such a beautiful emotional performance. It really showcases Corey’s versatility.
“Angels lie to keep control” .... for me my favorite line in this song.
A truer statement has never been made. They do and it has destroyed too many men's Mental Health.
For the longest i thought it was “Angels like you control” but then a couple weeks ago i went to a Slipknot concert and saw a shirt with the correct lyrics. It fits much better now that i know 😂
i always feel bad for the guy in the crowd that did the “woah-oh” part because he was on time and corey wasn’t ready
Still it was good so I dont think he should feel sorry, and Corey asked for help.
🤣🤣
But he hit it soooo perfectly...
I don't feel bad for him. I feel grateful. He did exactly what Corey asked the crowd to do. It was perfect and haunting.
That guy was awesome.
Stone Sour corey taylor amzing
stone sour xxyzz is my fav
If you liked the crowd in this song, listen to Bother from the same show, maybe the best audience I've ever heard
Snow patrol - run live in 2009. the crowd gives me goosebumps.
Edit: after seeing ur comment and me commenting, i had to go watch again. Its just beautiful.
Corey can sing like an angel and scream like a demon, someone had already said that, but it is very correct.
He sings like a demon and screams like an angel😂

The lyrics of this song are out of this world. The words he speaks are so alive
This song is so beautiful glad you reacted to it!🫶🏽🔥
This song is so haunting - so dark and beautiful. So glad you loved it!

Cory's version of wicked game is top notch, really highlights his voice.

Yeah that is a heavy song and one of my favorite Corey songs, well Daves as well.
I love that song! It's so haunting and beautiful
Check him out in Stone Sour. One of his other bands. He sings like this. You will love.
I've watched Corey (alone) live twice, he's an incredible singer with great taste in music.
This whole concert Is amazing
If you want this crowd on full song check out Corey doing Bother live, it's the best crowd I've ever heard
you have an incredible voice by the way. so warm and sultry. Snuff is something that really shows Corey's softer and emotional side and the beauty of his voice.
From the same live concert, Taylor sings Bother (from his days with Stone Sour), another fantastic song.
The whole Live in London show is on UA-cam and it's about 2 hours long but it's amazing. He tells us in the show this is his first performance since he quit smoking. Whether you react to it or not you should definitely watch the whole show. ❤
This was a show in the KoKo theatre in London in 2016 one of the BEST shows of my life. The song Bother from the same show is a must 🤘🤘
Glad to see that you read and react to our comments 😃Many of us recommended this version of Snuff and other songs that you reacted to. Have a nice day Stacey!
You def should check out "bother" from the same concert. Best live crowd ive ever seen
This whole set was solid, he also did a bit of covers and nailed them all.

Awwww, the cat stole my heart ❤️
I love your smooth voice
I cry every time I watch this performance.
This violently hits me. And i can relate with each and every words. It's a true masterpiece.
yes, definitely recommend Bother from this concert. and you like Corey unmasked, check out the other band he had Stone Sour, a lot of awesome songs!
My favourite quick bit in this concert is when he does the Spongbob Squarepants theme song with the crowd. Check it out when you get the chance. It always puts a smile on my face.
There have been times in my life I spent whole days listening to this song on repeat.
You should watch that entire show. It's excellent!
Just saw Slipknot 2 days ago... they did their first album front to back- they are an incredible band, and Eloy, their new drummer... just wow
"You sold me out to save yourself" hits hard for me.
This is hands down one of Slipknot Deepest songs. It is also one of Corey's Best performances. The whole Hated show is 🔥!!!
I guess I never knew how much emotion he puts into this song(never watched the video). Thanks for putting it on your channel. I like how much you get into your reactions! This one made me sub.....
Great song. Absolutely love the Soen version of this.

Hey Stacey..Im really loving you. This song hits home..Thank you so much. Keep it up babe. Keep making us happy dear. You the Best..
I will always remember that "Angels lie to keep control"
Nice react stacey xoxo, good song
Despite of love-ish gentle lyrics this song dedicated to his soulmate and Slipknot’s bass guitarist Paul Grey, passed away in 2010.
It started out for a woman who did him bad. He didn't want to release it. Paul heard it and helped him embrace the song. Paul loved it and with his encouragement the song evolved to be a song he tied to Paul.
"Home" by Corey Taylor! live version

The music video might give a better idea of Corey's voice alone, but, I love how much real emotion this performance has.
Because this version is better.

Corey’s other band Stone Sour is fantastic. Song #3 should be your first listen.
He also fronts Stone Sour. Check out his singing in that band as well.
makes this 50-year-old man cry every time i hear it
He's heartbroke for Joey passing away.
I love that this song is so simple on guitar cause it's hard for me to sing with.

Hello @Stacey you still made a good job, in the same vibe you also must listen to Vermillion pt2, I wish you the best, gambatte kudasai Bye'n'cha 😊
This song hits every time. It makes me wanna scream and cry at the same time so loud but It frustrates me because I can't😂
If you love Corey's softer side, check out his other band, Stonesour… Song #3, Through Glass, Zzyzx Road
This pretty soft already.
both are great
