Really awesome technical breakdown... I know very little about the skills and physical actions behind vocalists so this is so interesting to learn. Also Finnish is such a cool language to hear it all in that it makes me want to learn that too, haha

@@annavaskelainen well this was hard to watch, not for bad reasons, as always a great performance of a great song. But your reaction made it hard, seeing you try not to cry, now that adds a whole new level of emotion.
You're the first person I've seen cry while reacting to this song... i cry almost everytime I hear this song. Doesnt matter how many times I hear it. The raw emotion in his voice is almost impossible to not feel. Music is power
I have seen several other reactors cry while reacting to this song... I cry many many times listening to this song and I've listened to it sooooooooo many times and it still gets me most of the times!
Just for the background; the Song was originally written for a girl. But since he never really wrote songs for Slipknot his collegues Paul Gray and Joey Jordison pushed him into releasing it and even helped him, because they loved it. Corey was scared that it was too „soft“ back then. When Paul died he dedicated it to him and since then really fights to sing along. He even started crying and singing along many times. After Joey died too this year, things will get even more emotional, if that is even possible.
Anna he made you cry! I'll recommend you to listen his performance of "Bother" from the same show! You'll also see how legendary level of crowd controller corey is! A must see performance by him!
There is somethin in my eye. I like it how Corey delivers his message without any pretense. He does so with Slipknot too. But ... with different emotions. ;)
Thank you for this, I definitely wouldn’t have listened to this song if you hadn’t reacted to it. I have heard of Corey Taylor because of his vocal range but am not a fan of the kind of music his bands are known for. This was a great song to react to, not only because of his excellent delivery of the vocals but because it’s an interesting lyric as well. The line “I still press your letters to my lips” really got to you and i’m surprised you held it together. But you did a great job of getting your focus back, even if it took a couple of tries. I am of course totally not addicted to watching you emote like that, nope, not me. I’m going to study his use of rasp and distortion because it may prove useful for me when I’m performing my poems. Thanks again. Catch you next week!

Glad to know I could provide at least some informative content though! 😂 For using rasp/growl, you'd probably like to see my Jessie J reaction! xx
@@annavaskelainen OK, thanks! I will watch that. I’m not a fan of her and don’t watch reactions to her, but I really want to learn more about using those techniques. I did do some more research on this song and apparently it was always a very emotional song for Corey but then one of his band mates died and now he does the song as a tribute. So the thing with his eyes that you caught when he sang the word “angels” was him paying tribute to his boy. I think I will add this song to a playlist, so thanks again.
Music is the only language spoken worldwide brother. Many of us aren't drawn to new/different/unfamiliar genres, and that's just human. Stone Sour are worth persevering with, there's a number of good ballads. Zyzzyx Rd, their cover of Wicked Game, and Through Glass. The Frozen was a decent bit of poetry on one of the early albums too.
Well, to answer your last question, I saw the name Slipknot before I started watching this and yes, although I love metal, Slipknot is not my liking. They always came across to me as a gimmick, instead of something real. But this was surprisingly good.

@@annavaskelainen Anna, I was driving in the car today thinking about snuff and how I felt. Then I remembered another song that gave me the same emotional punch. I dont know if you have ever heard Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt". Its similar to Snuff emotionally. Johnny was dying and he knew it. The song is filled with regret for all the bad things he did, sorrow, loneliness, and loss. I freely admit I cried when I heard it and old men are not supposed to cry. You might consider doing a reaction to it. But be prepared and have some tissues nearby.
Yes, the feels. 😭 I think he has constructed this first with raw emotion and then polishing his performance with more thought and "left brain" so to say.
Some of it is neither. As Corey says at the beginning, this is a difficult song for him to get thru. There are at least two point in this performance where the emotion almost overwhelms him and you can see/hear him fighting back sobs. There are videos of other performances where the emotion simply becomes too much and he isn't able to continue. So... some of the vocal choices aren't really "choices". They are real, raw emotion taking over and effecting his performance. The song was originally written about his first wife. His best friend Paul Gray (who was the bass player for Slipknot) helped him write the song and it became Paul's favorite Slipknot song. Paul later died from an overdose. So not only does the song dredge up painful memories, it also makes Corey think of his lost best friend. Hence why it is such a difficult and emotional song for him.
Even though the video doesn't carry the emotion of this live version, you should check it out. It's gained new meaning with Paul's passing, but the song was always emotional from the beginning. And the video is so powerful. To compliment it all, today we just heard about the passing of Joey Jordison, Slipknot's founder and previous drummer. So this will for sure ignite his future performance, he is an emotional and open guy, to long hidden behind a mask. As usual, amazing reaction Anna. Thank you for reacting to Corey, he is a power house with the ability to touch us in the feelings.
No heitän yhden omista lemppareista coreyltä kun pyysit. Tää biisi on myös lähellä tuota kevyempää snuff tyylistä rockulosantia. Eli "Sound City Soundtrack - From can to can't" . Biisi taitaa olla joku Dave Grohlin musaproggis. Musavideo on ns. Studiolive, joten hyvin näkee laulutekniikat coreyltä 👍 ja vielä fun fact biisiin, katoin videon missä äänittivät tuota biisiä ja corey vetas jollain kolmella otolla laulut purkkiin. Kova äijä! 😄👍
I love this song is one of my favorite ever. Corey is an awesome entrepreneur and deliver brilliantly every emotion. I was so lucky to see a live show of Stone Sour in Milan some years ago and I had the same emotional feelings of you Anna. Great video, great reaction as always 🥰
Beautiful reaction, thank you. Love your analysis. If i may suggest another artist, Halestorm, Love Bites in the live room. Lzzy Hale has astonishing control and power, you won't be disappointed. Thank you again. Very much appreciated.
Addicted to your channel now, would love if you reacted to Heaven in Hiding by Imminence! They're a Swedish metalcore band and it's a softer song that shows the singers voice very well I think
I have absolutely no idea what you've said because I didn't turn on subtitles, but the emotional connection needs no language. Great reaction. This is my go to karaoke song, unless the mood is very light, don't wanna bring everyone down lol well done. Subbed.
Your reactions never fail to deliver, I love how you don't edit your emotions out. This song always gets the emotions running in me when I hear it, it's really relatable
😍 thank you Timothy. I want to be honest. Oh man this really was a hard reaction to do in terms of analysis, the way Corey told the story was exceptionally touching.
You took the reverse path most of us did. Heard Corey full Slipknot style long before he put out these more Clean softer songs. You could tell he had a clean voice but you barely heard it when Slipknot first came out. Wasnt until Stone Sour got big that you really heard it then he started utilizing it more in Slipknot songs too.
Corey was a bit of a dividing factor for slipknot. He wasn't an original member and kept overlapping the growling parts of the original singer in addition to adding some actual singing to the earlier commercial albums. The original singer announced he was leaving at a live show without talking to the band. I've listened to slipknot since the 90s, and listened to his other band stone sour. I've always known he was talented and versatile. ZZYZX road is another good acoustic style song with piano
Can't see if anyone has said in the comments, but it's worth listening to Corey in Stone Sour as well. Snuff is closer to the style of SS than Slipknot, and I think he actually shines more with them.
this song still hits me so hard since it was released in 2008. thank you so much for doing this, your work is amazing 🤍 may i suggest a band for you? they’re from finland, one desire. you may enjoy heroes, rio, whenever i’m dreaming, turn back time. they’re not much famous, but they’re really great, aor style is the best for me
It doesn't sound like it is over ten years old song, wow! Thank you for your message, I am happy to know you enjoyed my video. 🤍 I'll put your suggestion to my list! xx
The original recording of this song from the All Hope Is Gone album is also extremely powerful - put it on a playlist! I tear up every time… and I’ve been listening to it for years…
A list of songs that are just as deep if u feel like looking them up are as follows: 1. Jeremy by Pearl Jam 2. Given Up by Linkin Park 3. Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park 4. Cold by 5FDP 5. I Refuse by 5FDP 6. My Immortal by Evanescence 7. Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin That’s just for starters lol
Anna Great job with your reaction and analysis of Stuff live from Corey Taylor it's a very powerful and emotional song . Angeles lie to keep control always gets me
Check the whole show pls its amazing .. after snuff he need a mental reset and he sings the spongebob theme with the crowd to come down after this emotional song
Corey teki suomalasen sellonelikon Apocalyptican kanssa kappaleen "I'm not Jeesus". Nightwishin Tuomas Holopainen tekee samaa kirjouttaessaan biisejä, "The Poet and the Pendulum" rankin niistä. (Wembley 2015 Floor & Marko.) Tunnetko Hozier "Take Me to Church". Rankka aihe, en tiedä onko tekijälle henkilökohtainen. Pop up - esitys subwayasemalla on mainio versio. Minusta hyvä laulaja.
Ooo tästä en tiennytkään! Tunteen raakuus Coreylla välittyy todella hyvin läpi, olen aivan myyty. Hozier on yksi mun lemppareista, "Take me to church" on todella vaikuttava kappale!
Beautiful reaction! My first time watching your videos. UA-cam algorithmed you to me because I watch lots of reactions to this song, and to Slipknot in general. I just subscribed for more Slipknot! I’ll be watching!
I'm too lazy to go through 270 comments, so, if this has been mentioned before, sorry. I'm glad that you reacted to the live performance; there's so much more real emotional weight to the song live than if you reacted to the music video.
The performance is very emotional, it is clear that he tried very hard... :), But I'm more interested in when there will be a review of Natalia Tsarkova's vocals?, Haven't you forgotten yet? :) ...
Thank you for doing this. Corey is one of my 3 favorite artists (you already reacted to another one: Ronnie Radke). If you want to hear more from Corey try Stone Sour Song No3 acoustic and Apocalyptica I'm Not Jesus. Greetings from Germany
Hi Carl, glad to see Slipknot fans slipping in some comments! 😊 I listened to metal back when I was a teenager but never Slipknot for some reason. Oh, apart from one song! "Before I forget this!" 😂
If you're interested in hearing something from Slipknot, I would personally recommend checking out the song Unsainted. It's one of their newer songs, and in my opinion is a bit more nuanced and evolved (In style) than their older songs. (Don't get me wrong, I love old slipknot too!! I just think it would be a good place to start)
Okay maybe not creation but whatever it is I love your language I love it absolutely love it I want to know what language it is that you're speaking please tell me
Olisi kysymys (vähän ehkä tyhmä). Miten paljon yleisön mukana laulaminen vaikuttaa omaan laulamiseen?
I don't understand anything about your language, but I loved your reaction! This song is very strong and impactful for me and I was moved along with you! It's like a scream from my soul! In addition to being friendly, you are very beautiful! Hugs from Brazil!
May i suggest another Song? The Band "Spirtbox" with the Song "Circle with me". Its really good. I would say Symphonic Metal(core). I've heard it, heard another Song from Spiritbox and then went on to preorder their new album!😅 And I've had never heard of them before!😅
excellent break down...as always......explanations that help us to better understand things going on.......have not listened to slipnot, but this was nicely performed......thx
This is my default song when I'm in the mood to really feel something. Just found the channel and really like your reaction, also I'm pretty sure it's my first time hearing Finnish (I assume). Love the language either way, definitely watching more
I like how you work, how you put the 5 senses, and you let yourself be carried away by the emotions that make you even more beautiful ,a pleasure again
I like.
Loooved this reaction, this one still hits hard after all these years. You'd absolutely enjoy the live 'from the room below' performance of Blood Sport by Sleep Token! It's just the bands' vocalist with a piano and he also has an incredible way of just pouring emotion through his voice much like you mentioned with Corey. Fair warning though, you'll absolutely cry (I did my first time hearing it), it's very cathartic, just thought you should know incase it's not something you like doing on camera if you can help it. Wonderful song you should hear either way though. As far as Slipknot's other stuff Vermillion Pt. 2 is another phenomenal acoustic ballad like this one, but hits harder after hearing the first part which I'm sure you'll also enjoy. Really glad I found your channel and sooo appreciate the captions, new sub well earned, can't wait to see what you react to in the future!
Thank you Chace! This song really hit me hard. But in a good way. I'll put your suggestion to my list! I'm sold. ;) I think I'll do some actual Slipknot soon too, might find a more 'generic' song from them! Welcome to the gang, glad to have you with me! xx

Joking. You do a great job with these and I'm glad i found your channel. Subscribed.
Have u done chris cornells version of "nothing compared to you" ? Lovely....
Linkin park reaction rolling in the deep cover
Ooh this is interesting!!
Thanks for the subtitles!
🤘👍 (universal language)
I can't read fast, but your voice is beautiful and I don't need to read it.
You very cute.☺️I can understand you well. This song makes me shed a few tears every now and then. You can feel the soul of the song.😁
Love the reaction. Would love to see you react to "The Rain by Remetta. Think you would love it. Keep up the great content.
You need to react to Pearl Jam - Black unplugged.
One of the best live performances recorded.
Can't see if anyone has said in the comments, but it's worth listening to Corey in Stone Sour as well. Snuff is closer to the style of SS than Slipknot, and I think he actually shines more with them.
Try “from can to can’t” by Corey Taylor
This has gained a lot of votes lately so I might just have to! ^^
English yes lol
Kiitos. Fast på svenska
this song still hits me so hard since it was released in 2008. thank you so much for doing this, your work is amazing 🤍 may i suggest a band for you? they’re from finland, one desire. you may enjoy heroes, rio, whenever i’m dreaming, turn back time. they’re not much famous, but they’re really great, aor style is the best for me
It doesn't sound like it is over ten years old song, wow!
Thank you for your message, I am happy to know you enjoyed my video. 🤍
I'll put your suggestion to my list! xx
May I suggest you react to the song of the Russian band: Slaughter To Prevail - DEMOLISHER, please? 😏
It's in my list. xx
@@annavaskelainen
Cool! Thanks! 😋
This is one of the saddest songs i have ever heard along with Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong side of Heaven.
The Ladies around UA-cam love this Guy! Understandable, listen to that Jawline! That Voice just hits the eyes.
The original recording of this song from the All Hope Is Gone album is also extremely powerful - put it on a playlist! I tear up every time… and I’ve been listening to it for years…
Sure. I might need a moment before listening to this again though, I still get the feels even just thinking about this song. 😭
A list of songs that are just as deep if u feel like looking them up are as follows:
1. Jeremy by Pearl Jam
2. Given Up by Linkin Park
3. Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park
4. Cold by 5FDP
5. I Refuse by 5FDP
6. My Immortal by Evanescence
7. Dear Agony by Breaking Benjamin
That’s just for starters lol
I'll react to these songs when I feel like crying again hehe! xx
Anna Great job with your reaction and analysis of Stuff live from Corey Taylor it's a very powerful and emotional song . Angeles lie to keep control always gets me
Like and subscribed 👍🏻
welcome to the gang! 😊
Check the whole show pls its amazing .. after snuff he need a mental reset and he sings the spongebob theme with the crowd to come down after this emotional song
I love this song but I prefer it with the band because I feel the percussion parts add more emotion to an already emotional song.
I understand! ^^ I personally listened to the album version after making this and preferred this stripped down version more actually. 😊
@@annavaskelainen to each their own. Regardless, I loved your reaction

I mean it's still pretty cool that you know Dope
Thank you! I recomment Corey´s Finland connection with Apocalyptica: "I am not Jesus". Listen also Stonesour Corey´s band before Slipknot.
This would be an interesting performance to see!!
Thank you for that "Stonesour"- tip! xx
Corey teki suomalasen sellonelikon Apocalyptican kanssa kappaleen "I'm not Jeesus".
Nightwishin Tuomas Holopainen tekee samaa kirjouttaessaan biisejä,
"The Poet and the Pendulum" rankin niistä. (Wembley 2015 Floor & Marko.)
Tunnetko Hozier "Take Me to Church". Rankka aihe, en tiedä onko tekijälle henkilökohtainen.
Pop up - esitys subwayasemalla on mainio versio. Minusta hyvä laulaja.
Ooo tästä en tiennytkään!
Tunteen raakuus Coreylla välittyy todella hyvin läpi, olen aivan myyty.
Hozier on yksi mun lemppareista, "Take me to church" on todella vaikuttava kappale!
Slipknot sic reaction
damn that would be a good one
what language is this?
Finnish! 😊
Beautiful reaction! My first time watching your videos. UA-cam algorithmed you to me because I watch lots of reactions to this song, and to Slipknot in general. I just subscribed for more Slipknot! I’ll be watching!
Welcome to the gang, glad to have you with me! I'll react to Slipknot in the near future for sure!
I'm too lazy to go through 270 comments, so, if this has been mentioned before, sorry. I'm glad that you reacted to the live performance; there's so much more real emotional weight to the song live than if you reacted to the music video.
These kind of comments are always welcome! 😊
If possible, I'll always take live over recorded version! xx
I can't understand you language but I can read your face. Beautifully written song and I can see that it moved you. Thanks for the video
Hi! Subs are available- just click them on. Hope this helps. xx
I dont understand a word you're saying, yet i understand everything. Thrilled I found your channel. ❤
Hi Ed! Did you have the subtitles turned on at least? That should help a bit! xx
Thank you.
The performance is very emotional, it is clear that he tried very hard... :), But I'm more interested in when there will be a review of Natalia Tsarkova's vocals?, Haven't you forgotten yet? :) ...
Yes, it was loaaaded with emotion! 😊 Don't worry- Natalia is in my list! xx
Thank you for the subtitles. American here. Keep up the great work!
😊🎵🙏
You almost nailed a Five Finger Death Punch song at 15:17 LMAO
I totally didn't 😂😂😂
Thank you for doing this. Corey is one of my 3 favorite artists (you already reacted to another one: Ronnie Radke). If you want to hear more from Corey try Stone Sour Song No3 acoustic and Apocalyptica I'm Not Jesus.
Greetings from Germany
Thank you for watching! 😊 Oh I'll be watching Cory from now on for sure hahah!
Greetings to Germany! xx
Beautiful language. Awesome song.
I’ve been a fan of Slipknot for some years and I’ve enjoyed watching your introduction to something outside of perhaps your normal. 👍🏼🙏☺️
Hi Carl, glad to see Slipknot fans slipping in some comments! 😊
I listened to metal back when I was a teenager but never Slipknot for some reason.
I actually spent almost all day yesterday listening to Slipknot haha! Unsainted is definitely one of my favs! 😊
Same show there's a song called bother! You'll be as amazed as this one! And a Nice reaction! Most honest I've seen! 👌🏻
Ppl have been suggesting this a lot recently! I'll have to check that out soon!
Thank you Jax! ❤️
Wow! Your reaction is so real and sincere...I really enjoy it.
p.s And you so beautiful...
thank you. ❤️
Okay maybe not creation but whatever it is I love your language I love it absolutely love it I want to know what language it is that you're speaking please tell me
I'll give you a hint:
look at the title of this video ;)
Olisi kysymys (vähän ehkä tyhmä). Miten paljon yleisön mukana laulaminen vaikuttaa omaan laulamiseen?
I don't understand anything about your language, but I loved your reaction! This song is very strong and impactful for me and I was moved along with you! It's like a scream from my soul! In addition to being friendly, you are very beautiful! Hugs from Brazil!

May i suggest another Song? The Band "Spirtbox" with the Song "Circle with me". Its really good. I would say Symphonic Metal(core). I've heard it, heard another Song from Spiritbox and then went on to preorder their new album!😅 And I've had never heard of them before!😅
Spiritbox has been suggested a lot recently and this song seems to be popular too!
I might have to take a look at them soon! 😉
@@annavaskelainen Oh that would be fabulous!😊👍🏻
excellent break down...as always......explanations that help us to better understand things going on.......have not listened to slipnot, but this was nicely performed......thx
Thanks Phillip! Sometimes it's good to step out of your comfort zone to find new music! 🎵
@@annavaskelainen yep, only way to discover it......just try to keep an open mine to it
I would like to see reaction in English. But I like your language. I don't know what I want ha ha
haha 😂
❤️
This is my default song when I'm in the mood to really feel something. Just found the channel and really like your reaction, also I'm pretty sure it's my first time hearing Finnish (I assume). Love the language either way, definitely watching more
I totally understand. Glad to know you appreciate my mother language, hope to see you around in the comment section in the future too! xx

You are too sweet Carlos 😭
@@annavaskelainen You deserve that and more
I like.
Moi Keijo! Kiitos mukavasta viestistäsi. 😊 Tosi hyvin kirjoitettuja aatoksia!
Oh my heart Anna. That one got me.
En oddottanut suomea
yllätys!
I'm sold. ;)
I think I'll do some actual Slipknot soon too, might find a more 'generic' song from them!
