I know im late to the party in posting this but i really wanted to comment that your mod for the screws to the door panel is a really good idea. My door is worn and I didnt know how get that panel solid again. Great idea!
i just had to fix that spot under the door handle on my dads 95 f150. I got luck i had some spare parts from something else that had a thick plate that was threaded just like the one you showed it worked great.
That door panel mod is awesome. Def going to do that.

Did you use rivnuts for the arm rest screw? Also, did you end up using a rivnut for the top right door panel screw?
On my 97 f350 crew cab I have window switches for all four doors located on the front driver side door panel. Wonder why yours only has them for the front and not the back? You might have the door panels out of a two door.
Early OBS crewcabs didn’t have power rear windows just fronts I don’t think it was even an option but I might be wrong about that part
Thankfully I’ve never had to replace one of the cables before (kind of a hassle), but as you know I have had to replace the door handle mount several times. Ford could’ve done a better job designing these door/door panels but at least the fixes are cheap👍. Awesome work man!

Try lubing with a foaming chain lube down inside the cable if have access make it functional for long time.

Billet door handles are pretty great.
Oh for sure I’m definitely planning on getting a set once I start with the interior
I just back dated my 95 f 350 with 80 - 86 door latch and door opener and completey done away with the cable.

The door handles in these trucks are so bad. When I got mine it had the original door handles and those eventually snapped so I replaced them with metal ones...ended up snapping those off too! I try to spray it with WD40 every once in a while so I don't keep buying door handles.
Have you replaced the cable? That might be why your snapping handles, as it stretches it requires more force and travel to open the door and you eventually end up snapping handles or busting the door.
