I’ve been eyeing this book .. but thank you hahaha I will definitely not be opening my door to this one .. such a harsh critique and a very pleasant one so thank you
Sounds like a young adult book although it wouldn't justify the bad writing. The story sounds interesting to me not new but still interesting. But if the writing is bad it's no book for me, I think for me Writing beats story. Cleo at the end has her loud appearance tuut tuut :-) Is this a book you will give away or do you keep/collect even your bad books?
It isn't young adult at all, and yes the premise is great. But like you, if I don't like the writing it's hard to like the book. Cleo loves her squeaky toys. 😂 I should get rid of the book. The only reason I'll keep it is because I love the cover. 😂😂

I just finished this and I very much agree with your take on the writing. I liked the plot but struggling through the writing was difficult.
