Thank you for the video...I just found your channel when I was searching for information on this Kobo e-reader. I plan to order one. I have had a Kindle since they were first introduced, but it's time I broadened my horizons!
I love my Libra colour! It responsive, library compatible, epub ready and it’s pretty ! Read almost exclusively on my Kobo. Just popped a PopSocket on my clear case and it makes it even more comfortable to hold. Nice tip on genre tagging. Great review, thanks 😊
Your channel warms my heart, and as a college student trying to find a good e-reader to keep all my materials in one place, you've convinced me of this kobo! Thank you for all that you are and do.
Hi! I got my first ereader in 2006 - a nook! I loved it! Today, I own a Boox Onyx Palma that is about 3 years old. I rarely purchase ebooks since I think they are way overpriced, and I am a one time through reader. I only buy them if I can find them for $2 or less. I do get several a month thru my library, though - both libby and hoopla. The Boox is good since it uses whatever reading app I need - libby, hoopla, nook, etc. I've never tried a kindle because I'm not an Amazon fan - lol. Many years ago, I used calibre a lot and really liked it. Thank you for sharing your Kobo with us!
Ok so in looking at the Libra Colour I came across your video and the channel name caught me. Do you annotate on it at all? That said, this was a fantastic review. Thank you and Happy 60th!
Hi Kathi, great review, thank you! I am glad to hear you are enjoying your new colour Kobo ereader. I don’t have an ereader at the moment but I am sure I will love the Kobo Libra 2! Thank you! ❤
I got it last month. I was actually opting for Kobo Libra 2, without the color, but it wasn't available. The price difference wasn't that much, and the color ink screen did intrigue me, so I went for the Kobo Libra Colour. It was my first Kobo and I've never regretted buying it. I love the color and the interface. Page-turning buttons and the automatic rotation are a game changer. I love how easy it is to adjust screen light, too. Some people complained about getting headache or something, so I was a bit worried about it, but that hasn't been the case for me.
I’ve never had headaches reading on my Kobos and I read for hours. The settings allow you to tweak the lighting to suit you and perhaps that’s why. Thank you very much for sharing.
Hi Kathi! My local library also uses BorrowBox but I was able to join a number of other libraries in Victoria (I'm up to 8!!) that use Libby. A lot of libraries in the state are open to all Victorian residents. Some with good selections are Eastern Regional Libraries and Yarra Plenty Regional Library. I could sign up to these online and didn't have to visit in person. Once linked to my Libby account I could get library books to my Kobo fairly easily. They also have great audiobook selections too. Hope that info is helpful ✨
I use Kindle and Kobo. Kobo is used mostly for my library books, as this works seamlessly in Canada. I do love the Kobo Libra Colour. The speed of the device, the lightweight, and of course the colour is lovely. I use only Kobo covers for my devices and have not had a problem with the device waking from sleep. Thanks for your review!
Thank you very much for sharing. I never considered using both but I think I'll stick with my Kobo. I've been able to connect to other local libraries with it.
I just recently bought the Amazon Kindle Paper white. I had a Nook several years ago, but after it stopped working I never replaced it. At the time I wasn’t a big fan of the e readers, but I’m going to give them another try. I love that yours has color!
Great video as always. I love the freedom Kobo gives the user as opposed to Kindle. The colour looks amazing but I think I’ll stick with my regular Libra 2 for now.
Great review, Kathi! I've been on the fence of getting the Libra Color. I love my Kobo Clara HD but would definitely like to add a bit of color haha. I also chose Kobo over Kindle because of their proprietary file types. Epubs are far more readily available and easy to share between devices. Plus I don't like supporting Amazon when I don't have to..
Having a E-reader is my dream. My dream one is Kobo, just because of what you mention, the epub extension. I think Kindle now reads it too. But I am not sure.
I love my Kobo device! I've been using an Aura One for a long time with no problems. Sometimes I use the Kobo app on my iPad and the covers are all in color, but the tablet is heavy. I've used Nooks but the last one I bought didn't last 6 months! Never will buy an e-reader from Amazon because they are the Evil Empire.
I have ordered mine and one of the features I am looking forward to is the notebook function. Thank you for your informative review.
Glad it was helpful!
Congrats on your purchase! Seems like a great birthday gift!
Great review, will definitely consider it for purchase.
Thank you. I'm very happy with the e-reader. Happy reading to you. 😊

I agree ebooks are way overpriced. I have considered the Boox Onyx but I love my Kobos. Thank you for sharing.

Hello and thank you! I rarely annotate but I like that I can choose different colours for highlighting text.

@@NerdyKathi I think so too!!! Thank you! ❤️

Eliss I cannot thank you enough! I just registered with them and now have access to even more books. Thank you. 💕

Kindles are popular for a reason and whilst I love physical books I adore my Kobo. Thank you for sharing.
I love my libra colour, in uk it costs £200
It's a great ereader.
Great video as always.

Thank you Farhad. ❤ Yes I love my Kobo for how flexible it is.

I'd be interested to see what you think of the colour and all valid reasons to chose Kobo over Kindle.

I do hope you can get one, they were well worth it. It appears Kindle might take epubs now but it's not as seamless as it is with Kobo.
Have you noticed any increase in eye strain on the Libra color due to the different back or side lit screen?
No, I have never had eye strain with any Kobo and I can read for hours (around 8 or so).
@@NerdyKathi Thanks for the feedback!

Kobos seem to have the edge over many other models including Kindles. Thanks for sharing.
EPUB to Kindle format conversion is very easy.
That wasn't my point.
