I used to get so annoyed when someone called me an emo for listening to metal in school, or spoke about metal in such away that it was all about blood and gore without listening to it themselves. Now, I look back at it and it was incredibly cringy of me to react in such away. Now, I honestly couldn't care less.
My grandmother's side of the family very judgmental, she says I disgraced her whole family by listening to "Satan's" music and that some of my family members are scared of me lol I dress in normal clothes for the most part too I don't talk to them, they get on my nerves with that shit. If they ever become opened minded I will happily educate them until then I'm done putting up with them.
Totally agree dude. I've seen too many people getting upset because of music. I have this one guy in class that is pretty religious (christian) and the first time I wore my Satan (which is an amazing band) shirt, he got really angry at me, even though he knew it was just a band. It took some time before I managed to calm him down (he never really said anything about my music taste after, but we're still decent friends).
Feels like in school when we were analysing books. "the curtains are blue, which represents the character's sadness." No bitch, it means the curtains are blue!
Blackmetal Werewolf's subscribers have one of the most fearsome names to ever haunt mankind......RUB A DUB SUBS! .---------. I really want to know if he came up with that one while in the bathtub...
If I remember right, when Tarintino was asked why his films were all so gory, he replied with "You don't go to a Metallica gig and complain that it's too fucking loud!" very good response if true!
I 100% agree. Most the time if someone asks me what music I like I just say “Heavy Metal” because I cant be fucking bothered to explain what Death Metal or Thrash Metal is. Not only that I don’t feel the need to. I like what I fucking like!
great message, with everyone giving reason to why they make something it leaves the creators having to adjust their work which is stupid. People who never justify their work and say take or leave it make their work more credible to the music or art they made
You're right about pre conceived conclusion on things, my cousin thinks heavy metal is just screaming music yet i played NotB and Breaking the Law and thought it was just regular "rock" music
I can totally relate, my 2 favorite artists are Wednesday 13 and Cannibal Corpse so just from those artists you can see how almost everybody would want you to justify listening to these bands
God damn I needed to hear this, so many people that have asked ,e stuff like that and I go out and try to justify it, at the end of the day they don't care. Also, sometimes I'm writing a song and start to think, what if people in my family/friends see this and think badly of me? but fuck it, it's just something that came to mind and I'm writing it regardless, I don;t care anymore if someone doesn't like it. Thanks for the videos man, they make me feel even more part of the metal community.
That album is one of my favourites, so many good songs and such a great band. Not many people know of Holy Grail and I'm glad you bring attention to them! Missed rhe chance to see them in my hometown twice because I was traveling the days they were playing, but hopefully sometime before they get big!
And an excellent video by the way. I 100% agree with you, everyone has their own views and because of that, not everyone is going to like something. Very well worded. Keep up the great work man \m/
"Give someone a blanket and swaddle them in it and be like 'it's ok, i'm sorry my art hurt your feelings'." That's one of the funniest things you've ever said. xD
I agree with everything you said, I've tried to defend/justify artists I like to people at school or people in my family and it gets me nowhere. anymore I just shrug or laugh it off, they're not going to change their close minded ways so whatever haha
my old friends : `` why the fuck are u listening to iron maiden shit when you can listen with us to this song about awesome bitches and weed it s fking gangsta `` ... fk no dude fk no
Everyone is free to do the fuck he or she or it wants. And if a fool told to metalheads listen to something else because it's aggressive and scary,I will told to him the same thing"So?Do you feel powerful to tell me what to do?If I like this kind of music, you can't tell me to listen to something for me unenjoyable"
Metal needs no justification but the deeper meaning in some Metal does, I feel, enhance the experience and is as much justification as I've ever needed. Metal doesn't need to the attention of those who get offended by it.
Dude I agree completely. Art is supposed to push through social norms and misconceptions and if you look through out all of humanity's short time on the earth all of the best works of are pushed what was considered acceptable at the time
I love almost all kinds of music including some stuff that's on the charts however something I'm gonna criticize is the amount of cheesy love songs there are so when it comes to metal it makes a lot of sense to write songs about war death and rape. Why? Well because that's what's happening in the real world. People need to stop hiding from the truth stop pretending they're in a fairytale where the only thing that matters is falling in love and see the world for what it is and maybe just maybe listening to songs that at antiwar and stuff can open their minds and make them smarter human beings.
I know what you mean. For me it will be very to listen to Songs about Suicide,Cutting, burning, because of my Depressions,These thoughts about Suicide, the cutting, the burning and other things to hurt myself, are part of my life since 1987.So I try to dont judge about Bands which have Songs about Suicide or cutting.
well I kinda prefer Hell Bent For Leather over killing machine, because how many album titles have you heard that are more metal than "Hell Bent For Leather"? Maybe a few, I don't know, but probably not many!
Yeah, I pretty much have the same thoughts on the subject. I do have one question though...do you think it's weird that the powermetal I'm listening to is making me want to dress up as a magic wielding space pirate?
This can be said about a lot of things. You shouldn't have to justify your actions, unless they put yourself or others in harm. Of course, there are probably many exceptions to this.
The video wasn't about justifying a genre, it was about not needing to justify the messages advanced in art. Black Metal Werewolf has already addressed that his criticism of death/metalcore was too harsh in other videos. Most importantly: why does somebody else's opinion (that has no affect on you) bother you so much that you feel the need to post comments on how butt hurt you are on another video that is irrelevant to the subject matter?
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so fucking what?" - Stephen Fry
People need to realize that the whole horror/ gore/ Satan things that are is done in metal is just something they usually do. Sure, you'll stumble across a couple bands that are legit satanic or have very radical opinions, but that's a very small minority of metal. I understand if the music is just not your taste, but metal isn't just a bunch of satanic murderers. Besides, I could really care less about the lyrics, I just love the sweet sounds of metal
can you make a review/ reaction to opeth's new song "sorceress" or maybe talk about how they changed their style, it has a lot to do with justification because lots of peoplr are mad cause they gave up the growls
"Except all non-metal bands need to explain to us why they are trying to ruin br00talness in metal! Metal is serious business! Bands like Nightwish and Alestorm break the rules all the time."
I'm personally not a fan of the band as a whole but i do enjoy the guitar styling from jake pitts. i love his solo work and the way his leads smoothly connect to rhythms but hey your opinion is your opinion
lately actually i think they started emo ansuch them went to shock rock and now their mot recent album and coming album sound a lot heavier and i think might be better but i agree but sat least his skill is being recognized somewhere
yeah, justifiyng your music to anyone is like telling a dog to fly......useless. And the funny thing is that most of the times someone judges your music there is a high chance that: A) they have never listened to it (so they have no reason for a judgement) B) they "heard people talking" which again, they have no reason for a judgement
Art is supposed to be about what the artist likes not what everyone else likes I think that's a cool thing about it it expresses different views and shit different people like different things we can't all like the same thing
I pressed like on your video, and the like meter went on 666. XD Cool video dude. Me and my best bud are the only metalheads in our classroom and our classmates react the same way as they did with you and we are everyday like “Moshpi†!!!“. Could you please make a video explaining the difference between rock and metal?
Us Neoclassical Metal fans are called nerds because we shred on anything that has strings and we always talk about Yngwie Malmsteen and Paul Gilbert. Yeah I wear Polos, Khakis and glasses but I admit I am a nerd because I'm an Car enthusiast and shredder on guitar and bass.
I recently start watching you channel and I really like it. I am curious: what do you think heavy metal is, like wich bands or genres do you think are or are not metal. Like I recently started watching your channel, I also just started listening to "harder" metal like death metal. But I am just starting to explore that and your album reccomendations have been really helpfull. I first listened to bands like Rammstein and Metallica and not really something smaller/harder/more intens. Just to on the same line as you, what do you call Heavy metal? I am not fully aware of all the names of genre's and subgenre's and I don't really care about those names but I do not really get what you would call heavy metal and what you would not.
Unfortunately people are getting so oversensitive. And they get so angry when you refuse to agree with them. I really like Troma films. But that doesn't mean I am a tasteless and offensive person. I know the difference between movies and real life. But there are people who will treat you like you are a horrible person just because you like something that rustles their jimmies.
when you talk I only think yeaaah he's right. I never thought that way when I was in situations like this and well now I know what to say. you would be a hell of a good politican with your convincing personality.😂😂 (and sorry for my bad English I'm German :D)
Just a curious observation, for someone who calls them self a "blackmetal werewolf" you sure sure don't talk about black metal that much on your channel.
Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.
Blackmetal Werewolf should run for president.
Hekate's Monster and he would run as the metal head party,
he can't..His campaign wouldn't be legal
Canada doesn’t have a president anyway
The funny thing is that those people are the ones that listen to rap songs about money and "bitches".
you forgot weeeeeed
+Daniel Alvarado Yeah!
You know we just listed the entire genre.....thats really sad
+Daniel Alvarado The only 2 artists that actually break the stereotype are Eminem and N.W.A
+Weirdpath 5 pretty much
I used to get so annoyed when someone called me an emo for listening to metal in school, or spoke about metal in such away that it was all about blood and gore without listening to it themselves. Now, I look back at it and it was incredibly cringy of me to react in such away. Now, I honestly couldn't care less.
You're right. I remember when I tried to justify the music I like to people, and they didn't care anyway.
me too, but it's just useless to argue with stereotypes
me too, but it's just useless to argue with stereotypes who don't give rock and roll, and metal a try
pascual sandoval you're right there.

yeah, I cringe every time he says it
I can't help but read the video title as if it is a line from Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall Pt. 2.
Ian Schroeder I either read it like that or like “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”
We don't need no education
@@derekhand282 I read it as we don't need no thought control
@@juliereminiec4937 both of those lines are in the song. Cool

Thank you, I've always received shit for my artwork in high school, and now I feel more confident to just keep doing what I want
I 100% agree. Most the time if someone asks me what music I like I just say “Heavy Metal” because I cant be fucking bothered to explain what Death Metal or Thrash Metal is. Not only that I don’t feel the need to. I like what I fucking like!
The best art is uncomfortable.

thank you finally someone said the same thing I believe. nobody needs justification.
Yes! I completely agree and I love the reference to Tarantino. Huge Tarantino fan over here!
Agreed. People can be very judgemental. We all can like what we like.
That album is one of my favourites, so many good songs and such a great band. Not many people know of Holy Grail and I'm glad you bring attention to them! Holy Gail is a rad band! I saw them last month and got to hang with them a bit after the show, all around nice dudes.
Metal needs no justification but the deeper meaning in some Metal does, I feel, enhance the experience and is as much justification as I've ever needed. Metal doesn't need to the attention of those who get offended by it.
I think a good question is why the person wants ta sing bout a given topic rather than the art in of itself.

Yeah, I pretty much have the same thoughts on the subject. I do have one question though...do you think it's weird that the powermetal I'm listening to is making me want to dress up as a magic wielding space pirate?
"It's not metal if you don't offend somebody" -paraphrasing Pete Steele
yeah you had already recomended that album because I started listening to them because of you, I think
@Blackmetalwerewolf my new favourite UA-camr
This can be said about a lot of things. You shouldn't have to justify your actions, unless they put yourself or others in harm. Of course, there are probably many exceptions to this.
It’s a very difficult justifaction Christopher
This is how i feel when people dont understand what Metal is about, they just say bad stuff about it and look at me like im weird or something
Deathcore musicians don't need to justify what the point of their genre is
The video wasn't about justifying a genre, it was about not needing to justify the messages advanced in art.
+Neuro calm down man. I'm just doing tongue and cheek I understand the point he's trying to Insinuate. You seem to be the butthurt one here
+Neuro why dose my opinion have an effect on you where you need to make a massive paragraph defending someone?
Ry Ho It sounded like a serious point. Contextually, there was nothing there to indicate it was a joke.
+Neuro i don't even know anymore. It was a point but I didn't really meant for it to be too taken seriously
This video really needs to be seen by more people, and I don't mean metalheads I mean the pop tarts who are offended by every little thing.
I agree 100% with you black metal werewolf
also I must compliment you on the thumbnail Werewolf
Yeah I agree with him with every point he makes its just so true.
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' I totally agree with you 100%
That title inspired me to do a song :v
I'm agree dude...
I try to find the meaning behind a song or what the song is about
The thumbnail scared the Crap out of me, btw thanks I don't need to justify this comment.
Btw, you will need justification if it causes actual.

Good job Werewolf.
I agree completely, the only part that gets me is that it's not all about murder and rape and shit
Yeah but its kinda what the average non-Metalhead/mainstream audience will think *sigh*
We acknowledge that death, rape, and suicide is a thing other than sheltering ourselves from real life
Better they are writing about it then killing themselves.
What are your thoughts on nu metal
Hey dude, could u do a "My 10 ten sub genre bands" vid? Top Black metal, Death, Doom, Tech Death etc.
Can you do another q and a and if you do what is your favorite thing to do for fun
Haha :D gotta love this guy!
Art is supposed to be about what the artist likes not what everyone else likes I think that's a cool thing about it it expresses different views and shit different people like different things we can't all like the same thing

Well, there don't worry, theres Justice For All
Someone needed to say it
Evangelical Christian : Heavy Metal is A SIn
Me ( To Christian) : Well, So Is the Bible !

I agree 100 %.

Heavy metal is the truest genre of music.
