It’s cool to see people of all colors in the metal scene. I’m a black man that is into metal, no matter what race you are, you can love heavy metal. Blessings to all us metalheads!!!!!!
Its cool meeting a metal head when you are out and about in the world. When you mention a few bands to someone you just met and they dig them, there is an instant connection. Its not about race or gender its about what gets those endorphins going. Long live the shred.
I am a white dude who grew up in a suburb of Phoenix, AZ. As a teenager, I played drums in a hardcore/street punk band. We were not very good but loved to play music and were very appreciative anytime we were granted the opportunity to play anywhere. One of the only places that welcomed us regularly to play was a DIY space on a rez near Tempe, AZ (Salt River Pima-Maricopa). This space was exclusively run by the Native youth who lived there and most of the people who ran the space also played in bands. These were hands down some of the best shows we ever played or attended and every band we played with was light years above us in musicianship and talent. Metal, punk, hardcore it didn't matter. Everyone at these shows showed great enthusiasm and support for every band that played there. They had NO REASON to let our shitty suburban punk band play their space but they did, and as a result we learned how to be better musicians by watching them, became more comfortable with our instruments and playing in front of people, and made some amazing friends that I am still in contact with today. I am forever grateful for the people on the rez that welcomed us when they didn't have to and showed us a real life example of what community and music is all about.
Great comment dude, great little story. Somehow that's exactly how I pictured the scene by watching the video and you confirmed it. Seems like true diy punk scene, without all the hot topic posers and just real street guys, kinda like in Indonesia, althou less hardcore being in the States.
Had to be in the 80's and 90's, and I remember that scene. Some amazing bands and music, and of course the people. Great post and nice to think back to then. Still in AZ, and still love it all.
@@chronic4632 I'm a black metalhead guy. I've been a metalhead for over a decade. There's tons of black people in metal. Don't fucking tell me what I can and cannot like because your opinion is as stupid as your whole existence. Be gone trash! You can't listen to metal anymore you lost that privilege you racist and metal elitist.
I come from a tiny, shit-hole town in Northern Italy. Although I cannot understand the struggle of Navajo people in the reservation, I can relate very well to what it means to live in a place with high suicide rates and no fucking future in sight. I too, then, turned to metal, formed my own band and occasionally had to build my own stage. This is just to say that, despite all the differences in geography and heritage, I really feel I'm the same as these folks. Horns up and infinite respect from Aosta Death Valley, Navajo metalheads; Ragestorm salutes you \m/
Italy has a metal sence? Much respect for Italian culture the best food in the world!!! i love italian art work and design. Shout out form abq new Mexico!!!!
Watch the documentary called "Exterminate All the Brutes". Its hard to understand the slaughter, you can't. The film's purpose is for everyone to see this has happened for a long time. Accepting it is the next step.
neuroleptika It is interesting to see and how Cultures can be returned to, expressed, and preserved anew in the face of Globalism, in Europe and Scandinavian bands are doing the same too.
As a descendant of Swedes here in the US, I hope you take Sweden back from the mess that is globalism! I have a friend that lives there that sends me pictures of what migrants do there. There's vehicles that go around transporting these people and they kick the doors in.
Hey y’all, let’s remember why we are commenting and why we are here... We should feel proud of these guys for making a video of the kind of music that’s supposed to brings us together. We have gone through so much as Native Americans and these guys are showing that we are here, we exist, and we will rise up! They give hope and we should all remember where we come from and start standing together, and not against each other.
Very well said my friend! I was reading some of the comments & replies and it was pretty sad. Bragging who’s more brutal and calling them posers & shit! You don’t have to like all the music but support their cause since we all originate from it wether poverty, outsiders or bullied. I’m not in a band or into this music as much as I was when I was younger but would always support anyone who has the passion like these guys. I would really like to find more info on them and support them.
...So the G-men came to my people way back and said they could either move to this new rez or pay taxes. They couldn't explain to my great grandfather why moving there would be beneficial or answer his questions to his satisfaction. He said fuck that and moved the family to Texas and made a living ranching. My family might be scattered to the winds and not traditional now, but we seem to be better off than anyone on the rez.
Thank you for this incredible documentary, as a Japanese American, I understand all too well the feeling, and obstacles of being a minority, especially with the racial division we are experiencing in today's modern culture/society. Having born and raised in Japan, and being raised in Arizona most my entire life, I deeply enjoyed the native American culture out there! I have met so many wonderful people on native reservation's, aside from culture...I have since a child been into gothic culture, death metal music etc..the aesthetics of art is what the world needs, and it's important. If you are reading this, a reminder to everyone equally...embrace your nature, and be proud of your heritage, and who you are! :) always be an individual...
Man growing up in Chinle AZ, this video really hit home. Never thought i'd ever see our love for metal exposed but i'm thankful for Revolver's outlet. Much appreciated.
You'd be surprised where metal pops up despite being unheard of. Ethiopia? Metal is literally the most popular form of music in the country, it's insane and I love it
I'm an older white guy. Yet in my high school days I found myself rejecting what was "popular" in the early 90's. I found myself spending my time on a Comanche Res. All my friends were Comanche Indians. Metal was huge within that culture back then. I fit in good with my friends for being a white guy. Although their parents looked at me a bit strange. Anyway, thanks for this vid. It brought back some great memories. Apache ,Ok, Medicine Park, Ok, Elgin, Ok, and Porter Hill, Ok. To those guys that are still with us and those who have passed on. Thank You for all the memories I will carry for a lifetime!!!
With my father being Lakota Sioux, I grew up with metal. But i grew up moving towards much more extreme metal just like these navajo kids. I'm here for all of this. I will come to shows, buy merch, and support everyone of yall as much as I can. Keep going!
@@Scottrix91 Norwegian here, and a black metal fan ofc, it is great to see Native Americans playing BM. BM for me, and for the Norwegian scene, have always been rooted in nature. As if you could feel the snow, the mountains, the storms, the darkness, the sublimness of the wild in the music. And I believe you guys understand that concept, which many non Scandinavians do not get.
Not trying to "Flex" but i've shared stages with massive acts like DevilDriver and Dying Fetus on arguably the largest stages you can here in AZ, but nothing will ever beat playing to a crowd of 15 Rez kids on our regular stops in Farmington NM, Those kids Love metal more than anything and throw down for any band willing to show up.
It's the same here in Canada. Those small town crowds of natives, or any kids for that matter...really appreciate the shows. I've seen them cry when we had to leave, and I'm talking about sober, rationally speaking kids crying.
Being native I grew up with metal music my aunt's and uncle's played there casste tapes endlessly. My mom and dad even listened to metal music and still do. Metal music is our way of dealing with so much negative aspects of our everyday lives for me metal will always be in my blood
Was privileged to be helping Alien Weaponry during their first tour of US and they played a gig with six Navajo Metal bands. What a great night, what great people. Thanks for the memories
As a native maori myself from New Zealand i got into metal at a young age. I played lead and drumkit. We love our music here and instead of joining the gangs i joined something more evily tolerable. I formed my own band called grief industry from NZ.
Every group of people has a frustrated subgroup and it interesting seeing how metal can bring us all together. Metal got me through some tough times too, it’s a great outlet.
I love metal first off. Second, i had a navajo buddy in the Marines with me and this dude was a metal fan to the core. He was taking me to shows i didnt even know existed.
Arizonan here, and I can attest to the Navajos love for metal. It's awesome, it helps me connect with navajos my age because we have in common that love of metal that nearly no one else has. Arizona metal shows are majority us caucasians, and navajos. Metal welcomes all and shuns hate, but that's the demographics I've noticed haha EDIT: autocorrect always fucking me up
Dude I've been around so many metal heads and metal bands. 90% are racists and would think natives are pieces of shit. It's part of their scene. If a Dine has only hung out with other Dine "metal heads" from the Rez they have no idea
@@AZTLANSOLDIER13 Actually I would totally disagree. I've been a part of the Metal Scene, all across the U.S. and including areas with significant native populations (Hopi, Navajo, Yavapai-Prescott, Yavapai-Apache, Tonto-Apache) for the better part of 40 years and have seen that the metal scene is one of the most accepting, non-racist groups of people there is. That has held true for all of my memory. Are there exceptions? Of course. I have also been around many other music based groups of people and have had much opportunity to make comparisons. I won't go into specifics but if you think about it, actually think about it, there are other very prominent genres of music in the U.S. that actually, even if unknowingly, represent and promote hatred and racism. In my long memory, Metal has ALWAYS been about acceptance. There are more Misfits and non-Konformists of every creed and color than you seem to realize.
@@AZTLANSOLDIER13 that's very unfortunate you've seen those kinds of pieces of garbage at metal shows. Racists of all kind are subhuman and dont belong in our community. I agree with the second individual that our culture is about acceptance of who we are and can only imagine what other genre cultures are like. There are racists everywhere, and I've even met many racist Navajo people who hate me for being my color. But that's not the majority, and the metal scene has never treated anyone like that.
Nick I want to disagree with one point - most racist (of every color) are just ignorant, deluded or suckered into it. If we could show them the great big world and how we are much better together, that'd be best. However, the willfully ignorant racist that hate just to hate....fuck 'em. We don't need their shit.
I’ve played a number of shows in my life time...but by far I was gifted the opportunity to play a Navajo res in the fall of 2013. It was the gnarliest show I have ever played and hadn’t seen that much energy in a crowd that truly enjoyed a live touring band in some time. My love will forever be with the random dudes I met that night & the insane amount of 40oz that were shared... Hand hugs for all 🤚
Yo thats my uncle and cousin, that's awesome! Much love, it's crazy how big they're getting, keep it up I'm a hip hop baby but metal always has a place in my heart
Im black too man and i love metal since my 13,14 years old to this day playing my guitar or in a concert just banging while i lusten to metal makes me feel good, keep rockung bro.
These Rez metal bands are some of the best metal out there. These guys make music with the anger and frustration that is real. Their people were fucked over and their struggles and frustration resonates in their raw music which is pure emotion and cannot be duplicated by anyone that has not struggled on the reservation. Love all your bands and kick-ass music. All you Rez metal bands keep up the great music. 😍
They were conquered and subsequently granted permission to intermarry, granted land, were subsidized by whyte Europeans ( still are today ), given all kinds of handouts and special privileges. They were at war with one another and some tribes teamed up with Europeans to fight other tribes.
These guys exemplify the original spirit of early metal scenes. Everything was DIY when I started playing metal shows. I'm 50 now and I love seeing that spirit alive in these beautiful young people. They need support! This outlet may very well save some of their lives. Native Americans have been systematically suppressed for way too long in this country. It's inexcusable and time to stop. These amazing people need to be revered and celebrated.
I really love this deeper meaning of metal. So many people outside of the metal scene see it as just noise and chaos. Music saved my life. Metal holds the hand of the side of us that has endured immense pain and gives us power and confidence and a place to belong in the darkness. It directs our pain into power, our weakness into strength. It’s not just sex, drugs, and rock n roll.
Every denomination has that, I know from my own experience that most are not. It also depends on who/what is considered racist, that can vary greatly from person to person. Most Metal genres/sub-genres have openly anti-racist bands/songs.
It absolutely unites! I see so many people walking around looking just like their favorite rapper wearing clothes they can't afford and probably should have spent that money on their rent or towards their family, and for what? Promoting gangs, drugs, shootings and banging out random girls that they dosed up!?!?.....then, I see the average joe pull up to the gas pump and step out, I hear him blasting some "drag the waters" or something, and my hope in humanity is restored! As for being racist, metal doesn't give a shit who you are, just don't be a douche! Why did all the rappers hate on Skittles? Errrr, m&m?? I don't remember, the point is he was a different color, but he proved himself.....He's still a douche, and that's the only thing you can't be if you're a metal head, is a douche! Other than that you don't have to prove shit!
Not really, it's just entertainment, you aren't rebelling or doing anything significant by being part of a music "culture", its just show business making money off of you. As far as the music being fresh and original, that died off sometime ago, it was actually frowned on to listen and play underground death metal for example, now its pop/mainstream and it seems everyone does similar music now(original intentions of this music was to keep it underground and non commercial/mainstream). Younger generations will never know what original music in general is because it isn't made anymore nor will it be made again. But at least some of these rez bands have a raw sound, I can enjoy that at least
One of the reasons I love Metal so much is that it's a actually in a constant liquid state, it's constantly formless and changing. Not only is this why we have so many metal genres but it's why so many cultures have integrated into it. It's produced bands from the middle east like Melechesh, Asia with Chthonic, South America with Imperium and Inquisition, a growing scene in Africa like Overthrust fro Botswana and now these bands part from this culture. I hope the word spreads and they become known, the diversity is what makes it so amazing, as well as enjoyable since it also offers variety.
Yeah man. Metal has actually gone Maori (the native language of New Zealand)where a band called Alien Weaponry sings some of their songs in Maori. It's fucking badass. You should check it out
I got one suggestion for these metal dudes. Make videos of your performances and put them on UA-cam and Patreon. People will like and send you money for your music as support. You can actually earn a lot by doing what you love to do. Keep on rocking forever! Music has no barriers.
@@BlackNoiseCat Okay.. I love metal and live on a Caribbean island of Aruba and i do love the sea. I have patreons sponsoring the channels I follow who sponsors people traveling around the world, but my suggestion was noble. Cheers Maria.
It's really difficult to get internet in the real rezzy areas. The more rural areas are lucky to have electricity. People don't understand that this place is a third world country
Heavy metal music is a sacred thing, it's passed down through generations , it calls to certain people even encourages one to play an instrument learn the ways Rumble documentary is a good one too
This hits really close to home for me. My older brother was one of the best guitar players I’ve ever heard. As soon as he listened to a song the first time, he could play exactly how the song is played. With acoustic or electric. I miss him so much. Our dad passed 18 years ago and my brothers mind went crazy. But he could still play like that part of him never changed. He pass last year. We grew up in a village In Alaska. He’s the reason why I got into listening to rock and heavy metal 🤘🏾🎸 rock on cousins in the lower 48
For me Metal has always represented struggle and rising against the established status quo which totally fits with what native people have endured since 1492. Rez metal reflects those struggles and the fact that indigenous people are still here and surviving not just some story in a history book full of lies! I was blessed to be at a pow wow in southern cali and was introduced to a navajo band called Dying Tribe (based out of Flagstaff AZ) got ahold of one of their cd's and was hooked, this was back in the mid 90's so its awesome to see that native metal is alive and well!
That's because the metal itself actually doesn't sell to a bigger audience. Just watch all the documentaries about black metal made over the years. It's all about the sensationalistic stuff: blood, satan worship, extremism. But not about the music. Because of this, people hardly realize (black) metal is a musical genre first and foremost.
@Wayne Tucker why are you being hostile about dine' explaining WHY they love and play metal eyyy? Isn't the fact enough and you can't click on the information about them? Chill out biligana and enjoy the love or is that not possible?
I recently discovered Blackbraid & then this popped up. Incredible to be introduced to such a vibrant scene. I truly hope more rez bands get discovered 🔥🖤
As a Metis and Anishinaabe (Ojibwa), that was beautiful. So many of our young people love metal and the healing it gives us to overcome the trauma and oppression. The Seventh Generation will take back what is theirs \m/
It makes me so sad to see my brothers die in the rez.. I am mestizo from Chile and it makes me sick to see the hardship amongs natives troughout the Americas.. In my eyes we are one. Much love and it made me happy to see music helping these guys cope with hardship
So much respect to y’all! Always had respect for native Americans man! Much love to y’all, I really like black metal and it’s awesome to see the Navajo doing it right! 🤘🏻🥃🇺🇸 Hail from North Carolina
I'm apache been listening to death metal since I found possessed and black metal since I was 13 been years now. I produce trap and make rock music now love it too.....ixehe for this video many natives like myself love metal always will
I was up there a few years back for a metal festival featuring all local native american bands with mushroomhead as the headliner. It was awesome the native bands were original and heavy as hell! These guys need to get signed.🤘🤘🤘
They will not get the recognition or the funds if they stay independent...maybe metal will bring more hope to the Navajo Nation, they were all wonderful to me, and they were all Metal as Fuck!
@@MrGrifter123 Aren't pretty much all metal bands poor? Except perhaps Metallica or Slayer level bands. But fuck Bathory the fucking band that pioneered both Black Metal and Pagan/Viking Metal was poor af. The best he managed was not having to hold down a day job. Signed black metal artists are still poor. Honestly they would probably do better to self produce and sell their music through bandcamp at least then they get a larger percentage of their profits. I will be 49 in a few weeks and the only good thing about growing up in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's was the awesome metal and hard rock music. Wish today it would make a mainstream comeback instead of being so underground.
I'm from Phoenix, Az. I used to go to shows on the rez and around. The native kids were hardcore and heavy duty. They loved and lived metal. This doc doesn't capture the passion. Real bravery is going into the pit in a tiny little rez venue made for 20 people packed with 70 and letting go. Try it
One of the best docs I've seen for a minute.. Love to see my native brothers getting heavily involved in the metal, hardcore and punk scene. I've been to the res and it is a baron place where people have been systematically destroyed. All the power to these guys!!
Commander Voca I'm glad this is happening, it's like the grime scene on the sink estates here in London . I even wonder if black metal should be the new punk, not grime. It's very DIY, has a lot of energy and really pisses people off. London has a lot of Pirate radio stations playing grime, London Drill, some rave. I actually wonder why these guys don't take a leaf out of their book and start a pirate radio station to showcase the work of the bands?
I clicked this video because I wanted to hear a bunch of rez metal and a bit of story. I got the reverse. It's ok and I want to hear the voices of my Native brothers and sisters. I was just hoping to hear more of this art they are creating with their own brand of metal.
Albuquerque born, I love going to Gallup.... I get my metal, punk, folk, rockabilly, it's always different, worth the drive, I wish I could make it more often but I am never disappointed when I do.....
Yes, this was disappointingly short... Hopefully, the attention we're giving this piece will spark the creation of Part Two! (Longer, and showcasing more bands!)
Oklahoma natives are in solidarity with our western brothers! This video really lifted my heart. It makes me imagine what a native metal festival would be like...
Not Navajo, but I grew up on the rez, about a half-hour south of Shiprock. I left a long time ago but it's a place thats been burned into my subconcious. The landscape shots in this video really brought up a lot of long dormant emotions. There is something about that area that feels mystical, I'm not surprised the guys featured here were so inspired by Norwegian Black Metal. There is a definite kinship there, I think, between the sort of grave atmosphere of Black Metal and the beautifully austere, evocative landscape of the four corners region.
It's so inspiring to see metal culture grow into and meld with so many other cultures in the world. Metal is a platform for pure expression and that applies across the board, no matter where you are
As a metalhead cherokee apache native american my respect goes to the brothers of navajo tribe keeping it real despite of the struggle and hardships they face I'm glad that generations found an escape to metal and even went as far as creating they're own metal is fascinating keep the metal out there alive brothers
These Navajos sure looked like they adopted/embraced the whole 90s Norwegian black metal cult bands with the corpse paint ala Mayhem, Immortal, Darkthrone, Emperor, Gorgoroth, etc. \m/
Navajo country has always captivated me and mystified me since I was a child. I live near Taos, and every time I head west past the Jemez and Tusas into Navajo country I still get this haunting feeling. Something draws me to it. The history and spirit you can feel just walking through some of the canyons, I can't explain it but it's alive. The mobility and fighting prowess of these people was unparalleled. If you see the rugged canyon country they not only survived, but thrived in.. And just how fucking vast their territory was, you'll appreciate just how resourceful and free they were. They were truly living in their own realm and were untouchable for centuries. Truly saddens me how things went down between us whites and their ancestors I've read a lot about the Navajo Wars and.. Yeah, nothing to get into here its just so fucked and wish there was a way to make reconciliation. I wish I had some Navajo homies to talk to about this. Yall cool as fuck to me. Much love from the Sangre De Cristos of Taos and thanks for the video
@Twist Reject crazy how you took my post that way homes... Just paying some respect. Hate to break it to you.. But the Long Walk of the Navajo is 150 years fresh.. @e fred why are you spreading false information for one there is not one native in america that likes reservations and wants to be there not one and your point about modern technology is just idiotic because the modern world is exactly why natives cant thrive anymore how are you supposed to go hunt when everythings been killed off and the plains are now shopping malls and no one believes natives were peace loving hippies but they were brutal savages as you claim they were just like anyone else they had people from all walks of life all your comment did was make you look like a dumb racist so not even sure why you left it
Great documentary! I have visited the Navajo Rez and have family friends. Amazing place, wonderful and unique people. To the bands, organize a Native Metal Fest in the never ending gorgeous desert, advertise through social media and share your music, your culture, your food, etc. I'll make sure to go and I am sure many more will go. Lead your way!
Man these people have hearts, they have a wonderful soul. Their story makes sense in a way alot of us black metal fans can relate to. They keep their heads high despite the depression and anger they might go through in their hometown. My love and respects to them. 🔥🤘🤘🤘🔥
That was a pleasure to watch and learn about! Beautiful scenery and the people seem really honest and humble! I want to visit one of these gigs one day! Greetings from Metal Brother in London UK!
I really like how they had adopted the sounds and styles of metal, and especially Black Metal to interpret their cultures dark side of mysticism, and to use that as an outlet of the energies that have made some of the individuals on the reservations feel bleak, and through that struggle and life feeling bleak, you grab that energy by the horns & balls and give it the Tombstoner like the Undertaker while raging to the sounds of your favorite diy band! On a side note as a PSA, the most interesting thing about Metal in the wake of New Wave Of British Heavy Metal was the influence that Punk Rock and Hardcore Punk had on metal, in which the birth of Thrash, Death, and Black Metal had become to their fruition. From there Metal then in return influenced Hardcore Punk towards the late 1980s, from there Crossover Thrash, Crust Punk and Grindcore were born as well. One band I swear by that is amazing is RESISTANT CULTURE, features (or featured) members of Terrorizer, fronted by Anthony "Rez-Hawk", the sound is very raw Grindcore/Crust Punk/Extreme Metal featuring the native tribal music sounds of the indigenous flute, rattle, tribal drum, and chants that originated with Anthony Rez-Hawks ancestral tribe.

Great comment dude, great little story. Somehow that's exactly how I pictured the scene by watching the video and you confirmed it. Seems like true diy punk scene, without all the hot topic posers and just real street guys, kinda like in Indonesia, althou less hardcore being in the States.

Right on, well said. Rise above, bro

Metal welcomes all and shuns hate, but that's the demographics I've noticed haha
EDIT: autocorrect always fucking me up
Dude I've been around so many metal heads and metal bands.
Yeah man I grew up around a lot of navajos in Arizona and we always went to shows together
Nick I want to disagree with one point - most racist (of every color) are just ignorant, deluded or suckered into it. If we could show them the great big world and how we are much better together, that'd be best. However, the willfully ignorant racist that hate just to hate....fuck 'em. We don't need their shit.
This is shot absolutely beautifully. As a filmmaker and a metal musician, I love this.
I’ve played a number of shows in my life time...but by far I was gifted the opportunity to play a Navajo res in the fall of 2013.
No shit! Right?
I really love this deeper meaning of metal. So many people outside of the metal scene see it as just noise and chaos. Music saved my life. Metal holds the hand of the side of us that has endured immense pain and gives us power and confidence and a place to belong in the darkness. It directs our pain into power, our weakness into strength. It’s not just sex, drugs, and rock n roll.
When I lived near the Navajo Rez in New Mexico there were lots of hard rock fans. The Rez folks like to rock out more than any other group I’ve seen!
Metal is a universal culture that transcends boundaries and limitations.
One world..........united in metal.
Why are so many metal heads racist than?
This is amazing to see, I wish more crowds had that type of passion for the music and would put their phones down and just experience it

We are all brothers and sisters anyway, but those of us who love metal share a special bond worldwide

@Cyaain't no one sending them no checks.. Wasn't crying neither.. I was paying respect to a people I respect.. The fuck is the matter with you.
@Twist Reject crazy how you took my post that way homes... Just paying some respect. Hate to break it to you.. But the Long Walk of the Navajo is 150 years fresh.. Maybe this doesn't mean shit to you, but I live in Navajo/Pueblo country and the past is very much alive here. Don't rope me into your ignorance of what shit is actually like here.. I'm proud Anglo but I'm aware of history my man
"Whites are oppressed". gtfo. Try living in a 3rd world country and get schooled what oppression is.
Anyone else who replies to me in some whiny, condescending tone better be the type of whiteboy to approach me that way in actual life. Because I'm the type of whiteboy that will actually fuck you up. Take a fuckin Xanax and relax kids.. No ones here to trigger yall.. my post flew right over your punk ass heads
Top notch Revolver. Amazing video. Keep it up!
The aspect of the yee naaldlooshii (skin-walker) is very interesting and the appearance they compared to the black metal corpse paint.
"My fault i didn't tie my shoes"
as someone who got knocked out of his shoes in a pit, i can relate lol
lol yep 😁
That was actually funny.
This was incredible. Give us more of this please.
It would be nice if you’d link some of the featured artists’ works.

I wish you’ll be heard and be seen around the world 👍🏽❤️🙏🏾
lol it was my fault I didn't tie my shoes.....the best intro story ever!!
The struggles are real. Keep strong.
@Cya Why are you so hateful? Native Americans have been through enough as is. They don't owe the people who came to THEIR country and started MURDERING and RAPING a damn thing. Maybe if you grow the rare thing called EMPATHY that you would see that they were fucked ever since us white people came to THEIR land.
I'm cherokee ,I'm a severe metal head , I'm 52 DEICIDE is my favorite band ,I actually was able to meet them and hang out stage side , we are just a buncha crazy indians gettin wild 😜 🤘
Watching from New Zealand I came here from watching Alien Weaponry a kiwi thrash metal band who sing in native Te Reo... Enjoyed watching this, thank you for posting. Its important to hold on to your culture. Keep it going guys, I'm impressed.
Inspiring. Cheers from the Canadian north First Nations! :)
Wacheay!! Greetings from Moose Cree FN, James Bay!! Metal for Ever!!! \m/, ,\m/
My band NASHOBA
This is the most badass thing I have ever seen wish they had albums for sale
Being a metalhead from Australia and having a deep understanding with indigenous peoples from my country here, I’d love the opportunity to go to America to meet these guys and understand their culture and how their music came to be personally. And hopefully help.
Hats off to these young people it's great to see such talent come from such adversary here in Ireland we have similar history to yours in as much as the oppression and genocide and I'm sad to say slavery by the English and it's true to say it does damage far beyond one generation so I truly wish you all well and above all else keep going (I also hope the bond between our people stays strong because when no help was coming during our famine your people helped us and this is commemorated here in Ireland )✊🤘
I wish I could go to any store, any park, anywhere in USA and see and meet Natives from any Tribe. You just don't see many, I'm in Orange County, Santa Ana California and im a Chicano Mexicano
Goto a reservation in cali there has to be one or two I'm sure
I was born and raised in SD and even though I didn't go to rezes often, there are 18 of them in San Diego county - apparently the most in any county in the entire USA.That's not including the ones in LA and Orange county. I think Morongo isn't too far away from you - it's east of Riverside.
I love the cassette tapes, walkman, mini component system and square body GM pickups hahaha. Perfect things to go along with Metal! Goes with the whole vibe.
My love and respect go out to you guys!!
You rule, keep the metal going!!🤘
Shit. I'm sitting here crying like crazy. I cannot believe how awesome these people are. And I'm not just saying that because they Rock the hell outta their lives. The truth that they speak truly moved me. I'm so glad that I got to learn about this. These people their music and the Rez. Fuck! I'm still crying. Rock on, never stop doing what you're doing. These are truly amazing,Special talented artists who are sharing their truth through Music. Hell Fucking yeah😈
This documentary is awesomely beautifully filmed, thanks :D
It is indeed an art form. Metal is moving into every culture on this 3rd rock from the Sun.
🤘 stay strong, the world needs to finally hear your voice like they've never heard it
Back in 1985 when I moved to southern NM to live with my mom I thought I was all that was metal and then I met my very first friend who is Apache from the Mescalero reservation just 14 miles up the mountain. Through him I learned more about metal than I could've learned on my own. Through him I met and got to play guitar with some of the best metal.misicians I've ever played with.
There is something shamanic Especially in black metal it allows the soul to journey into other worlds. 90s black metal got me through some mad times. Blessed be 🤘🍻
Very interesting! I love what you guys are doing!!!!
