things that piss me off: old people telling kids "aren't you a little old to be trick or treating?" my 13 year old brother (who was twelve at the time) heard it from so many adults last year, and now his Halloween spirit is gone
My view on it is, if you're too young to get drunk and party, then you're not too old to dress up and go trick-or-treating. It keeps the teens out of worse mischief. If they put effort into their costumes, give them the candy!
That sucks. Screw those grinches. The neighborhood I took my kid trick or treating at is cool though. They even offered accompanying adults and older teens candy.
I'm from Spain and here it's not a thing, but my mother is Gothic and my father a metalhead, so my siblings and I grew up celebrating Halloween more than Christmas, literally, but there's always that one neighbor that's like "oohh that satanic family" , fortunately it's being celebrated more each year , so thats awesome :3
I'm in spain and I know what you mean I also see people dressed as stupid things the girls with slutty costumes and the stores don't have anything just the cheap spiderman costumes and plastic sythes
"I buy candy every year hoping that kids will come to my apartment" .... I know what you meant and I do it too but that just sounded wrong it's funny :'D
4 Reasons why I still love Halloween as a metalhead: *Free candy and food (no shit) *It's the only time I can play metal music openly in the neighborhood or in public and have it be socially acceptable? Idk, my town is different *I can go all out looking evil and demented as possible and have a shit load of fun doing it *Women in skimpy/revealing outfits at parties and trick or treating
In Spain is getting more popular but some people (generally olders) don't like it because is not a celebration from "here". And here is very rare to see anyone going to the houses asking for candy. I would dare to say no one does it. Sadly
Here in Finland we kind of celebrate Halloween but not really. Like, stores sell costumes and stuff during the month and I remember my school would always be decorated for a week or so and there was one day where students could dress up in a costume and bring candy to school, but there's no trick-or-treating nor do people really decorate their houses and it's not like an official thing here.
We started to get the Halloween feeling last year in Greece. But just decorations in stores. I hope Halloween will become actually Halloween here. Home decorators, treat or tricking and stuff like that
i used to carve pumpkins for my mom and every year they'd get stolen. i took that as a compliment because my designs were wicked. people paid me to carve their pumpkins.
Where I live in Montana Halloween is still going pretty strong. It's not over the top, but there are trick or treaters out and about. I don't remember if they have a costume day at the school anymore though. There is one hotel on the main strip in town that always decorates like crazy, and they hand out hot buttered rum to the adults and apple cider and candy to the kids. You can stay and hang out for a bit because they also serve cheese/meat platters and pumpkin shaped rice crispies treats. I like to hang out there every year because the owners are also old friends.
Where I live most people go hit the haunted hay rides, the corn mazes, and giant haunted houses (there are like three different establishments that do this I believe). Great fun. Also, if Halloween falls on a Saturday, that is usually the best. Halloween falling on work day kinda kills the spirit a little bit.
another thing that's a little irritating is that older kids who actually do put effort into a costume and everything don't get candy. cause they are "too old to be trick or treating" 💁 anyways though great video man ✌
Eh. While I always loved seeing the trees covered in toilet paper and just the spooky vibe of Halloween, I personally think throwing things such as eggs is a little extreme since once my parents were telling me about the time someone threw nail polish on their car. I'm all for a little casual mischief but to me throwing things at people's property unless it's toilet paper is overdoing it
I feel it is better to buy the full size candy. As I kid I did not like the fun size candy bars. There is nothing fun about fun size candy bars. I know I would not like getting my paycheck fun sized haha.
Halloween is fairly big in Australia, but it's only really in the last few years that it's become more accepted to celebrate and to find trick or treaters roaming the streets in costume without it seeming like an oddity.
My biggest issue with Halloween is the parents being way too concerned or over protective over the children/neighbors. I wanted to have a scary costume, a scary house, really deck it out for the season! I had my parents get all worked up, getting worried that children will get scared and the scary decorations/costumes would offend people. Know why I ain't afraid of creepy shit? I get exposure! Halloween is the scary season, it ain't Easter, it ain't Christmas.
I COMPLETELY agree with you. I hardly see any houses around here that are decorated for Halloween. And what really sucks is that we hardly get any kids for trick or treating. Granted, a lot of that is because we just don't have that many kids around, but it really bums me out when I see people's videos of streets with kids walking all over up and down and visiting houses.
When I was a kid, so like in the 90s, I remember just about every house that handed out candy would basically be a mini haunted house. People went all out. The last time I went trick or treating with some kids, I seen basically no decorations. I was so bummed. I only decorate the inside of my house because I live in the country and I'm only decorating for myself but I freakin' love Halloween.
In Finland we kind of have the concept of trick or treat during Easter. Kids often dress up as witches or something that is related to Easter. I'd say that this is common for kids between 4-9 years old.
I love your vidoes, you might not have the most proffesional videos. But your videos are well thought out and they're very interesting and lovely. And your are honestly one of my favourite youtube channels right now, keep it going, dude! \m/, :)
I really wish we celebrated halloween here in Brazil. My middle school used to do parties in hallow's eve and it was totally awesome. We all used to came up there dressed up with costumes. But I only did 1 trick or treat in my entire life.. That sucks.
I will be one of those people and say that I really wish that we were celebrating Halloween in my country. Seems like so much fun, I would love to decorate our apartment and surroundings without looking like a complete weirdo to our neighbours ( my family is used to me already so I cant really surprise them anymore with anything :D ). There are halloween parties but usually in a bigger cities and as an introvert Im not very fond of spending my time at the club full of obnoxious drunk teenagers lol, ( although I have to admit that I would love to go to a smaller halloween party). We have all hollows eve - which I hope is a correct translation, when we visit the cemeteries and burn candles on the graves of our decased ancestors or friends and I personally ( as a pagan ) am also celebrating Samhain.
Totally agree with you on point 5 - so sad it's not really celebrated here in Germany. I've been waiting for trick or treaters every single year (house fully decorated, candy waiting) but no one has ever showed up....
Yes, people celebrate Halloween in Australia, although it's mostly in suburbs where there are families with kids. It seems to be getting bigger than it was some years ago.
Curiously in Europe we celebrate St-Patrick's day more than Halloween. When I was a child we didn't hear about Halloween, not that much as a teenager but children used to come for trick and treat. Now they are all grown up so we buy candies but no children come. I was trick and treating last year with my 9y.o cousin, he had a costume but was the only one child going to houses for candies. That was a bit sad (but hopefully people had candies for him).
I went trick or treating for the last time this year at 17, I know damn well I'm too old but at least I put hours of effort into my costume. Also for anyone that wants to judge me I wasn't allowed to trick or treat until I was 12 so excuse me for trying to compensate for my lost childhood.
I live in the Philippines, thankfully when I first moved here we just started celebrating Halloween, before that nope, so I was lucky enough to move here at a time when they started, now if only we can get some metal in my area haha
Barely any people trick or treat to my apartment. I would love to decorate the house with Halloween stuff but my mom won't let us without explaining why. Hopefully this year we can decorate the house and get some trick or treaters
Dracula was released as a strange valentine story ... on 2/14/1930 We usually put the Jack o Lantern in the backyard... There two things that are taken care of... it Curtails the pumpkin thieves & feeds the feral animals
Here in Brazil we didn´t use to celebrate it but in the past years it has gotten bigger. I´m having a Halloween party at home for my friends and I enjoeyd making the decorations for the party :)
I remember that when I was really little ( about five ,or six) it was my job to answer the door on Halloween ( for the trick or treaters) ,but the difference here was I wore a witch costume ,when I answered the door... Guess,I was the only one who had the right spirit... because the other kids wore the obvious costumes...(a ghost, angel ( WTF is that?) animals, etc... this is what burned me up! Then years later , some preteen asshole came to the door dressed as a devil( or the devil)...It brought on nightmares for me!
We trick or treated clear up until we were like 15, but we went all out with our costumes. And what saddens me about Halloween, is that the trick or treating times aren't ON Halloween anymore. It's between the 22nd and 27th, now. And it's not at night anymore, either. :/
in england once you turn about 10 halloween almost no longer exists.we got a decent number of kids about 4 years ago but very rarely now. if you put those things in your window thats effort. i personally love halloween and its my favourite time of the year and october is my favourite month. great video man.
Yip, in South Africa we have little to nothing for Halloween. People don't decorate their houses. We have Christmas decorations in stores already! Wtf?! One of the big reasons I encountered growing up for why people don't celebrate it is because they believe it is evil, which is rubbish since it isn't. Kids also don't trick or treat because people don't celebrate it and it isn't that safe in some areas. I'm just endlessly frustrated that this really awesome holiday gets neglected. Anyway, great video, really enjoyed it \m/ Happy (almost) Halloween!
In México Halloween is very popular, its a mix of Día de muertos and Halloween, kids dress up and go trick or treating, but we call it "calaverita", we put an ofrenda with food and drinks for our dead relatives and eat a delicious bread called "pan de muerto" shaped as bones and skull
I'm from México and we celebrate Halloween because it's really popular across the country and Día de los muertos is very different in terms of meaning and traditions but since the calaveras were popularized in the 20th century those 2 holidays overlap and share a bit of macabre -ish vibe but I'm ok with that because I love both days.
Here's something that pissed me off, my schools all the way until high school would have something like a workday on halloween so students could go trickortreating or have a early release day on Halloween and have the day after halloween be a workday (which makes more sense to me), but my current school won't give us crap for Halloween. The day of Halloween isnt a workday, the day after isn't a workday, there's no early release, and Halloween's on a MONDAY this year. That sucks.
People still decorate in my neighborhood. In fact, I'd say the decorating has increased where I live. Just a few houses down from me this one family goes crazy with the halloween decorations every year, and they even do the whole graveyard thing. :) And when I go on my walks it's not uncommon for me to spot giant inflatable spiders on front lawns, or see cloth witches and zombies hanging from trees, and fake spiderwebs.People go all out here (I live in Ohio). I guess the popularity of halloween culture will vary depending on your area, but people are still heavily into it here
I live in Massachusetts not that far from Salem the witch town, and Salem is big on Halloween. It's like Halloween town down there. My buddy got me hooked on regular show. I find it funny.
We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Belgium but it it's getting more popular fortunately. Cause that's the only time of the year i can go shopping for home decor and ofcourse i throw a big ass Halloween party x'D
We do celebrate halloween in australia, just not nearly to the same level as in north america. Most of the houses aren't decorated but most people participate I think
I celebrate halloween by myself, around 19:00 PM I'll invite my friends over and we celebrate it, around 22:30 PM some leave, 3 people stay usually and we watch horror movies until 3:00 AM and they leave around 10:00 AM
well, other countries / cultures have other traditions. For example here in Austria (and Germany) we have Fasching in February, which is kind of an alternation of Carneval. Halloween is pretty famous now here too but I personally don't really see the necessity of 2 costume events in the year. Also, while you maybe see Halloween as a fun tradition, for us in the germanspeaking region it rather is a "modern trend" because it simply didn't exist before. In fact my generation was the first one to start and celebrate it and it basically came with American TV-shows and movies etc.
Here in Argentina no one celebrates Halloween, a small amount of people make private parties and wear costumes but that's all. When I was like 11-12 years old I went to trick or treating with two friends and we were the only ones and that sucks. Great video and forgive me if I wrote something wrong, english isn't my country's language.
in Lithuania we don't celebrate. We remember our dead friends, family members. We going to cementary put candles on graves and at night cementaries looks amaaaaazing. Now more kids gets into halloween . Personally I like both things
Halloween is not a thing here(Hungary...sadly)... We have Day of the Dead on November 1st, but it's just going out to the cemetery and bring flowers onto the tombs of your passed loved ones. Pretty depressing if you ask me. But On the other hand, we have a thing called Farsang, when everybody dresses up and go partying with friends and stuff... Farsang is for getting rid of the winter's evil spirits or something like that, usually it's in February or march maybe... I don't remember
The only horror movie that I know of when the release date was Valentine's Day was Dracula...Practical Magic was released either close to or on Halloween of 1998
holy shit last year I was so excited about the pumpkin I got, it was huge. I went out to grab it to carve it and it was gone. A few months later I found it smashed in the stream across the street from my house.
The worst thing is when people give out fucking toothpaste. Also, when people give out nothing but chocolate, that pisses me off because I hate chocolate. I like the gummy candies. I'm not trick or treating this year because I feel awkward about doing it at 16, and my friends want to be stupid and take entire bowls of candy. Yes, I've actually seen people give out school supplies and toothpaste. I hate assholes like that.
I love Halloween and I live in switzerland... It just sucks the last time I went trick or treating I was 10 years old bc no one has candy and they say "we don't funcking live in USA!" I just was so sad bc I mean I'm still a kid I'm 13 years old... but since then I made Halloween party's and its so great and all Halloween fans come to my house and we celebrate :3 and I always say u have to come with costumes but they mostly don't do... but I think this year hopefully everyone comes with costumes :) I'll be this year Freddy Krueger :D
things that piss me off: old people telling kids "aren't you a little old to be trick or treating?" my 13 year old brother (who was twelve at the time) heard it from so many adults last year, and now his Halloween spirit is gone

+BryBR15 meanwhile I have an sjw sister, a mom who is a mainstream follower, and a dad who mocks me for liking death metal :-(
Greetings from Spain!🤘
LacrimarvmValle sadly it’s the opposite over in America 😔
"Some one stole my fucking Jack-o-lantern."
So you could say you got jacked? Ah-ah?
Never too old to trick or treat
hell yeah... I'm 20 and I'm gonna go trick or treating
If you are too old, just make a baby or two; you just bought yourself another twelve years or so of acceptability.
I agree
@@doorkicker5667 I'm 19 and went trick or treating until I was 17 then my mom had a daughter so now I can trick or treat with her.
You're never too old for trick-or-treating.
"I buy candy every year hoping that kids will come to my apartment" .... I know what you meant and I do it too but that just sounded wrong it's funny :'D
your right pumpkin smashing is an asshole thing to do
what sucks about halloween is christmas decor coming in stores before halloween is even over
*before it even starts
Death Dodger lol yes, thats what I meant, thanks haha its awful
Ariel, can't the carved pumpkin be put in the backyard?
This would take care of the pumpkin smashing/stealing in ten seconds.
wal mart waits until after thanksgiving
The real question is: do you listen to Helloween?
Peter Montesano keeper of the seven keys man.
PooleParty24/7 great album
I listen to Helloween at any time of the year..
Halloween ,I watch Horror movies
Haha somebody gave me a ketchup packet on Halloween once.
Julian Gonzalez I'm so sorry about that.
Oops
😶
Halloween in North America is gonna be crazy mainly because of this thing about killer clowns. It's so annoying...
and what about Killer fruit? ( Attack of the killer tomatoes..how stupid is that?
Smashing Pumpkins or smashing pumpkins? (see what I did?)
smashing someone else's pumpkin
Number 6:It only lasts one night!!!!
I remember when I was about 10, my dad won a giant pumpkin by guessing its weight. NOBODY fucked with that pumpkin.

I've slammed doors on teenagers skating up to my house with back packs expecting candy.
don't blame you
The Bunny Barn by Jax My mom's rule was that if teenagers show up they have to sing a song to get candy ha ha
Felicia Pulo hopefully the song is appropriate lol
Lmao, valid concern.
God bless you!

@Alissa Reminiec it's during November and on the 2nd and 3rd and I think the 4th too

A lot of people in Australia celebrate it. Not enough to decorate their houses but enough to go trick or treating.
I guess the popularity of halloween culture will vary depending on your area, but people are still heavily into it here
I've noticed these, too. It' so sad Halloween isn't what it used to be. I still celebrate it more than Christmas. Uugh! Fuck Christmas!
Black Metalwerewolf: Universal released Dracula in Feburary for valentine's day ...with this tag
"The strangest love story ever"
Regular show Pop's doll. " im gonna draw on your face" ha ha
Dracula was released in febuary.. For valentine's day with the tag line. " the strangest love story ever told !"
Moving from the US to Europe does make me miss halloween! I take it upon myself to celebrate though.
6:23 Frank, F is for family "well you don't get any fucking candy then"
We don't bother decorating the house. There's no street lamps, so we don't get trick or treaters or anything. Maybe later I'll start again.
Our neighbors have a fake guillotine :)
well, other countries / cultures have other traditions.
I think I'll be a pencil bag for this Halloween 😂😂😂😂
The only horror movie that I know of when the release date was Valentine's Day was Dracula...Practical Magic was released either close to or on Halloween of 1998
Australian resident here, we've never celebrated Halloween unfortunately. some shops sell costumes but that's about it
I totally agree with the pumpkin smashing
Having monsters movies, on February, instead of October: you've got those made-for-teen girls movies' popularity, to thank, for that...
holy shit last year I was so excited about the pumpkin I got, it was huge. I went out to grab it to carve it and it was gone. A few months later I found it smashed in the stream across the street from my house.
I allways wished we celebrate halloween here in Europe in Croatia..
It just sucks the last time I went trick or treating I was 10 years old bc no one has candy and they say "we don't funcking live in USA!" I just was so sad bc I mean I'm still a kid I'm 13 years old... but since then I made Halloween party's and its so great and all Halloween fans come to my house and we celebrate :3 and I always say u have to come with costumes but they mostly don't do... but I think this year hopefully everyone comes with costumes :) I'll be this year Freddy Krueger :D
in fountain Valley CA where I live, there are a lot of houses with Halloween decorations
