    I've been using the 301 here in SC for the last 4 or 5 seasons. I've took 9 gobblers total with it. The closest being 6 yds. & farthest being around 40 yds. No complaints whatsoever. I shoot the Federal #9's with the factory choke. Wished this setup had been available years ago!

    Jake you nailed it! Both great guns, both have pros and not so pros😂😂😂😂 I don’t really see cons to either gun. The Rossi is better suited for kids. Rossi uses Mobil chokes like the Mossberg SA410

    After watching all the vids between the two. I leaned towards the 301. Because of not having that polymer receiver that the rossi has. I purchased a 301 2 weeks ago, a carlson's choke, and some Apex ninja, browning, and federal tss. I plan on ordering the code black choke in the future to see how my gun eats em. But the ninjas outperformed over all thru the carlson. I mean flat out patterned wicked to 40!!! I've got a benelli nova and I shoot tss and long beard with awesome results. But dang that summuck kills at both ends and is heavy toatn around. When my daughter isn't using the .410 I'm gonna be using it for sure. Thanks guys for helping me pick the perfect turkey gun for my daughter and probably myself.

      @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA yessir they are!!! I'd have never thought that one could do that. When I was a kid I used a new England 410 and killed the heck out of squirrels with it. But ya had to be spitn distance to kill one. I'm definitely gonna use it this season. Arkansas season can't get here quite quick enough lol. Them swamp chickens have been strutn and gobbling with hens since second week of September!!!

    This doesn’t necessarily pertain to this video but if you had a budget of say $200 would you spend it on more tubes or different TSS brands? It would be nice if a third party sold a “variety” pack of TSS like a box of 5 different brands.

    Im right there with moose. My factory choke on my sons 301 is terrible. After 30 yards its wide a$$ open. I don't let him shoot past 25. With the red dot costing more than the gun and then the thought of a 75 to 100 dollar choke ( thats if you pick the right one that patterns good for that particular gun) i wish i would've just got him the 20 gauge.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA

    I have compared both guns and the Rossi workmanship is a lot nicer than the Stevens. Stevens is made in China. Went with the Rossi. Patterned great with the chokes that came with the gun. Bought aftermarket choke and it did not pattern any better.

    • @BlueCollarOutdoorsUSA

      You haven’t watched to many must be because if you have you’d know we don’t recommend anything or push anything our videos are for you to watch and see what setups yield patterns that match your hunting applications

      @chasinracin55 also a gun is a gun the reasons why I think it’s better even though I hate saying that like I said in the video itself… the gun will be as adjustable as the next gun
      HOWEVER
      Every gun patterns differently and I have zero clue what you look for in a pattern or how you hunt so how am I Spose to recommend anything for you? It’d literally be a guess the BEST way to know is to try what stands out in our pattern tests it’s honestly extremely simple

    • @chasinracin55
      @chasinracin55 4 місяці тому

      I completely understand that you are a channel and don't want to recommend one certain brand over another. I also have been hunting for over 30 years and know that every gun is different. I'm not here to insult or cause a debate. I was simply asking your personal opinion/favorite combo as a starting point. Why would I go out and spend hundreds of dollars to test when you could give me your favorite combo in a gun that you've tested multiple systems in? You're making this more complicated than it is. He's 8 years old and ain't gonna shoot past 25 or 30 yards
