I agree that if you already have an M3 then you don't need the M4. However, I really don't like that there is so much hate coming out around the M4.
FX revolutionized the PCP airgun market and gave us some amazing pieces that we have all been the better for.
I've been around Airguns for 45 years, since I was 4. The FX line is a work of art and we should embrace FX and their innovative upgrades and give them the respect they are due.

How about a solid barrel that won’t have POI issues?
Have the shroud screw into the action to eliminate flex problems. POI is a major problem for me with the barrel being not solid...

Justin, I love that you guys actually test and use the guns instead of just talking out your ass. I would like it if one of your videos would talk about if and when the plenum size upgrade makes a noticeable difference. Thanks.
Thanks man! The plenum size didn’t make a significant difference, I’m a huge fan of deleting the front reg and the shot consistency is absolutely insane. Biggest improvement by far is the trigger system and the magazine seems a lot nicer.
In our prairie dog video that dropped today we talked about pushing slugs without a power kit and how it did. More tests to come though!
Ok. Ok. Ok... if you already have an FX Rifle the truth is you don't need another one of the same caliber, maybe it would be a different caliber to make it worth spending another $2500.00. And if you already have an FX Panther, forget about buying an FX M4, it doesn't make sense to spend more money unless you buy another brand of rifle to experience different rifle technology... FX rifles are very good but they make new designs that are not worth spending money on those upgrades that are pointless to use, "our skills are the other half of the rifle"
I totally agree with this take. At this point they are taking the same rifles and reconfiguring them with different plenums and adjustability and giving them different model names.

@ramongonzalez9723 , especially M3 and it cost over 2k$, the biggest problem is the barrel not solid. Grabbing the barrel by hand, leaning against tree or even inside the case the barrel touching the cut out foam will affect the point of impact (poi). Its a flaw design and FX needs to correct that problem. Yeap, one little micro movement or touching the barrel really mess up the accuracy. Have the shroud screw into the action about a 1/2 inch or so should solve the problem.

I've only been into serious airguns for 5 months and I've already got 3, 2 of which were bought from you guys. I just bought an AEA SF 18" last month. The first was a Blitz. Last week a Wes Bashforth tuned Diana Bandit 25 conversion.
The M4 will be next.

I’m sorry man as I know that you mean well. But the impact M4 is the air rifle that no one asked for. I understand the modularity of the air rifle but having to invest additional money to stiffen up the barrel, etc is unacceptable at this price point.
We understand where you are coming from, however the demand for these upgrades the M4 provides have been in high demand. Stay tuned each day this week for more videos of us getting in depth and showing what it can do, we were impressed.

Fair enough but what do you mean unacceptable at this price point? There are guns with half the features for hundreds or thousands of dollars more than this gun. The changes they made were absolutely ones that people had wished it had. I’d love to see an impact with a large solid barrel system that was as accurate or more accurate but if it’s gonna be done right it would need to be a new gun entirely and I can assure you it wouldn’t be $2200
This is a new version of the Impact not a “new” rifle. The trigger alone is worth an upgrade in my opinion and the gun remains the same price it’s been for over 5 years. So I’ll agree a more stiff barrel system would be awesome but I’ll agree to disagree with you on the value of this gun. You absolutely can’t find a better gun than this that can do what this gun can do for the same price. Thanks for watching.

Will the new reg fit the M3, a kit that gives you the new reg and a plug for the guage and an adapter for the bottle to eliminate the first reg? That would be a good option for us M3 owners if we wanted it

Yes you could do those things for sure. The trigger is by far the most impressive upgrade but it can’t be added to the M3 unfortunately.
If you don’t have one by all means buy the m4. If you have an m3 there is zero reason to “upgrade “ to this.
You can update your m3 with the m4 parts..apart from the trigger. If you're a hunter like me then you don't need it anyway 😊
Did they address the issue about holding the gun on your left or right shoulder if you use your left or right eye to aim loading the magazine only on the right side has always been an issue for some people it gets in the way

Although I'm not a huge fan of rifles that resemble a prosthesis, the impact ticked all the boxes in terms of long range accuracy for me. I've used my M3 for over 3 years. All the while expecting air leaks and the other problems to manifest...Nothing!
Besides a high flow probe, it's a stock standard sniper edition with the standard superior liner. It was set up to shoot .218 30gr H&N slugs @985 fps.
Groups one hole at 50m and sub MOA all day long. ( best 15mm at 100m)
Efficiency? Well I get over 75 shots on a fill.
If I was buying my first Impact, yeah the M4 is a no brainer, but trading my M3 in for a M4 ....no way.
Address the elephant in the room and rather
lean towards an Impact with fewer O rings, rugged reliability and less of the military style bling and I may be tempted...

Yawn, these small improvements didn’t call for a new model IMO. I mean you guys just had a video on why the M3 is still relevant.
It’s a new version of the Impact it’s not a new gun man. Some improvements weren’t significant but the main improvements are huge improvements. The trigger system especially!

If it's not broken don't fix it. Semi autos have proven to be more unreliable than not from what is on the market. In FX's case, the Impact is the most popular platform amongst the airgun community, so rather than make that drastic jump to something that isn't proven, they have improved what they know has dominated.
I have the M3 and sick of Fx gimmicks. Western Rattler comes out of the box already super jacked. Screw Fx
So this is basically an M3.5?? I wish they would have gotten rid of so many orings and leak point failures. A redesign that used a hammerless system would've been cool. They needed to add more innovation to be called an M4. This is just like in the RC world...FX M3 Ultimate! Guess I'll have to wait for the M5 with the 77cc plenum! Lol!
Well actually deleting a reg I’d say eliminate its fair share of leak points and o rings and the trigger system is absolutely incredible. Hammerless guns can be cool but definitely have their problems too. I’ll say this again, this is not a “new” gun this is an improved updated version of the Impact. I am as anxious as anyone to have an entirely new gun platform that had crazy new features so I get where you’re coming from but it will come in due time but it won’t be an Impact platform at that point but until then updates on guns are always nice.

Explain what you don’t get out of the factory barrel that won’t out perform any other bullpup on the market.. I’m not trying to be defensive or combative but people jump on a bandwagon of what a gun should have but seem to forget it’s still out performs anything else. YES a stiffer barrel system would be desirable I couldn’t agree more but don’t act like it isn’t good without it. Milking the cow? I didn’t get that reference I guess?

I'm really liking the new innovations! I've considered the FX Impact M3 to be the holy grail of airguns due to its adjustability, interchangeable calibers, and overall construction; this M4 steps it up. Kudos to FX for listening to their customer base. The only thing I'd like to change is the air bottle. I prefer an elongated bottle vs. that bulky "standard issue" offering, both for esthetics and, more importantly, handling. That bulbous bottle just doesn't do it for me. I lean more to the "tactical" aspects of a rifle like my Air Arms S510 TXS. Can the air bottle be changed out with an aftermarket product?
Fair point! It takes the same valve as the M3 so any bottle with that should work. You obviously want to make sure it's rated for proper fill pressure, minimum 250bar etc..

No it will not, and there is probably some technical advantages to still maintain the efficiency the impact has. Each gun from FX also has it's purpose, so if you are needing more power there are options for that as well.

They trigger is fantastic! Unfortunately it is not compatible with other models of the Impact.
Why didn't FX raise the fill from 250 to 310 bar? I notice that the bottle on my new m3 the bottle says 310 bar max but the gun says 250 bar max. So I'm stuck using 250 bar fills? (I just got this m3 a month or so ago from you guys - without a without a heads up that this was coming so soon. Not a real gripe because I generally buy behind the curve but a word would've been nice)
All you need is a 300 bar bottle and gauge, the M3 is rated at 300 bar even though it says 250 on the gun.
@@Don.E.63 Where did you find that rating info? I read 250 in the manual. I'm not saying that it doesn't make sense or that I don't think the gun can handle it. I didn't see that in the manual and don't want to screw myself on the warrantee.

It says 250 on the gun because the stock bottle is on rated to 250. They don’t want anyone over filling stock bottles because someone reads 300bar on the gun and not paying attention to the bottle.
I am not sure that removing second regulator wasn't a simply cost cutting :(

how can you mount a bipod on this thing?
There is a small picatinny section in front of the trigger on the trigger guard, or you can replace your trigger guard with aftermarket rails for longer pic or arca solutions. You can also get a bottle clamp with pic or arca
I would have thought having a 1st stage regulator would allow for less strain on all the down stream orings therefore less wear and less leaks

I would rather have a standard DRS or Wildcat. But that is just me. It seems like FX and many air gun companies keep doing the same thing the crossbow companies are doing. Making them so expensive that no one can afford them. Crossbows and air guns are now more expensive than military grade sniper weapons capable of 2k yard accuracy in some cases which is ludicrous. And the paid reviewers can spare me all the M4 is here content. One notice is more than enough. FX reviews are like watching CNN and MSNBC or others with all the exact same wording and commentary.

There is nothing new, and it does not deserve the name M4 if it was M3 with an upgraded name like what happened with the power block, just adding accessories that are not worth looking at.
Oh so you’re experienced with it?? 😂 I am and the improvements are very nice.
"You can get it to do whatever you like"... except have a usable top rail... Love my M3 BUT. and it is a big BUTT... the top rail (yes even the extended saber tact) is tooo short. It litterally lets you mount up one optic. 90% of the time that is super good enough... However I have Optic attachments I cannot use with my fixed optic because of this. It doesn't need to go the full barrel length but it should be able to accomidate a typical scope and a front mounted attachment like NV or Thermal. I do not have the time or patience to re-zero everytime I want to use it for a night hunt.

I would be interested in it IF they were able to get the O-RING count to less a
than 10. My only experience is my M2. Which it took many times and several people to seal up. It sets in the safe because I'm afraid it is going to leak again! for what its worth, I do know friends that shoot the FX Impacts.
To adjust a regulator you need a reliable pressure gauge, no wonder they want less regulators 😂

First regulator was a big flop in m3 . After all customer were suffered.
What was the issue with 2 regs?
There was no issue with first regulayor in m3 . Only regulator no.1 has leakage issue multiple times from the breath hole. Even that small o ring thickness of 1.5 mm get blast everytime
Never again will I buy FX!
Went back to using .22LR with good quality subsonics & get much better performance. Maybe I don't get ragged one hole groups at 50 meters but then I don't have to worry about running low on air & forever air leaks.
If I buy another PCP I think I will look at Daystate or Brocock!

Another impact, and the basic flaws still havent been fixed. poi, varying fps/accuracy, flimsy barrel/liner. Was so looking forward to a "fixed and finished" impact, not another "nearly there" version...This is m3.1, not m4... My mind is now made up. Just gonna get the RTI MORA instead.

FX build kids guns out of nuts and bolts and plastic and rip you off with ridiculous prices they are nothing special you can't beat the laminated stocks on the BSA R12 and the HW 100 and in walnut variants and they look like proper air rifles not Toys.
So ugly to be called the m4. I wish one of these air gun companies do an air gun looking right. 💩
