here is my pattern test of the rossi tuffy turkey with the .385 rectifire turkey choke and the burgess creek 7/8 oz payload of 10's at 40 yards!

That Rossi is a beast
Smokin pattern! Like your emphasis on patterning with the load you are gonna shoot. It’s amazing how many people think you can just grab a random box of shells and stay zeroed. Same thing with rifle shells. I’ve sighted in with guys who are surprised at how much a group can move with a different shell. Most will blame it on the sight. Not the case
Right it’s insane man, it drives me absolutely nuts when people are to lazy or cheap to check zero
A hunter needs to know the limitations & capabilities of his setup before he goes afield, and of course be zeroed…

I'm a new subscriber. You guys have been extremely helpful to me in that I am going to a .410 for spring turkey hunting this year. So far, only into ammo to the tune of $170 (yikes!) for pattern testing thanks to the work you have done 🙏. My favorite pattern is Hawks TriStar w/the Jebs full (.390 constriction) and Rogue ammo. That caused me to contact Jebs to see if I could exchange the xx-full (.380) that came with my CVA Scout for the full and to buy some Rogue ammo (gulp). They were awesome and said "no problem." But here is the fly in the ointment: my choke is a Browning Invector pattern. I believe Hawks is the Barretta/Benelli. My pattern at 40yds w/the .390 is nice and even, but the core is not nearly as hot as Hawks. I rarely use decoys, so 40yd shots are not out of the question. I'm going to shoot it at 30yds today, and expect real good things. I guess my observation is that not all .390's are created equal. Would you say this is a function of choke pattern type or individual manufacturing design? Thanks
Not all guns like the same choke/load it will vary from one gun to the next
Thats how my Stevens 301 in 410 shoots with a 385 Kicks Gobblin Thunder choke tube and Viper Ammunition 9.5's @ 40 yards.

I needed that 410 fix. The last few 20 ga patterns had me shopping for more 28 ga guns!!!
That was a very nice pattern! I haven’t bought/loaded 10s yet but this year has convinced me to explore them. 10s have 525 pellets to the ounce. 9s have 362. Looking solely at hits on paper- an ounce of 10s puts close to the same number holes in paper as 1.5 ounces of 9s

28’s and 410’s is what I love lol
I have the 301 20ga with a Rectifier diamond series .560 and that setup is almost unfair shooting longbeard xr#6

Very interesting! I have seen both of them do extremely well. I have the Rossi youth 18 1/2 Fixed Modified. I have considered having it threaded for chokes/drill&tapped for red dot. It weighs like 3.6 pounds!!! I want to add the savage to my collection. Have you considered a bore hone for your 301? During CoVid Jake had to hone a Rossi and it was a night/day difference.
I highly recommend not doing what I did to my Rossi
I ONLY did that because it never had a finish cut in the bore it was a rough cut I strongly recommend NOT doing what I did to my barrel I just had to fix my barrel to bring it to an actual “finish cut” finish in it
@@krm944 I just did that exact thing with my Rossi youth gun. Shot it today finally and it shot pretty decent. Put a patternmaster code black turkey in it. It kicks so hard it breaks the gun open when you shoot it 😂

I tried them with Jebs XX full with the 301 I think and that pattern is much better than I got
Saw a video where rectifier had a special choke for federal and that choke was amazing compared to the one not for federal
Yessir they have their spade design for federal I’m curious to get one for testing!
